The hotel is great and relatively clean.

But the hotel has shown its age after more than 25 years in operations.

Breakfast is really good! There are more variety of foods than I can consume.

Booked this hotel based on reviews. It was a terrible mistake. Arriving at the hotel, the parking garage was run-down, no attendants, had to walk through a maze to get to the elevator. Check-in was fine. The room was weird. Felt like a meeting room re-used as a bedroom. Weird dividing wall with curtains. Bathroom was dirty. Tub and shower was covered in mold. The included breakfast was not good. Nothing seem particularly fresh. The children playroom was old and the \"Texas Bar\" was a joke.

All of this is forgivable, the one thing that is not, cockroaches. There were cockroaches in the room, bathroom, in the dining room at breakfast and tons of cockroaches in the front lobby.

Very different way to greet customers

I have Expedia Silver status; Naruwan is the only hotel didn’t recognise my sliver status.
Also, from arrival, check in; check out to depart; there was no front door came to greet us or took our suitcase. If I compared my other 5* experience, it was the worst one. Yet, they gave me free upgraded when I expressed my concerns that my disable mother may struggle to have shower… (not until I asked)

Front door was boarded up still after all these time has passed since the typhoon…? Reception only has 1 person working, and it was obvious that she didn’t like the fact that we interrupted whatever she was doing when we walked in. No greetings, barely an eye contact during the transaction. No info was related to us, like Wi-do password, and breakfast place and time.
Staff at the breakfast buffet was not that much better.
Didn’t supply any toiletries, even if you ask.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Loved the Japanese style toilets and the breakfast buffet was abundant. We had a room with two separate bedrooms, which is hard to find in hotels. Only con was the lack of outlets. There were only 2 in both bedrooms.

Deluxe Family Room was good size for family of 4. Although room was a little dated, it was clean and very comfortable.

My complaints:
1 - I had to wait 15 minutes to check-in (only 2 people working on check-in desk and other members was too busy doing admin work instead of assisting their colleagues).

2 - Only buffet restaurant was opened in the evening and had no choice but to take Taxi to town for some food. (Only have 7-11 next to Hotel)

3 - Breakfast was limited and the flies hovering above the food was off putting.

4 - The staff working in the cafe area was not interested in wiping down any tables even though everybody can clearing see that there is drink spillage.

Great hotel for families with children!

We had an amazing 3-night stay at this wonderful hotel. Our toddler (2.5 yr) absolutely LOVED the children's pool and water slide in the spa area. The various children's play areas were also nice, although it was a little annoying that one of them (the one by the bar) was only open in the afternoon.
The staff that spoke English (at least one in each shift, usually more) were all very helpful and welcoming. One even brought two cups of Roselle tea to our room when I expressed sadness that the free tea in the lobby was empty.
The extra space of the \"4 twin bed, 2 bedroom\" room was really nice, allowing room to play and toddler could sleep in a separate room. At the time of booking, that room was only slightly more expensive than the much smaller \"2 queen beds in 1 bedroom\" room.
The beds were also very comfortable.
My one complaint is the food. The dinner food is outrageously expensive (so we never ate there). The breakfast buffet has a large selection of both western and asian style food. However, very little of the food, other than the steamed/boiled vegetables and cut up fruit, was vegan friendly, and nothing (apart from the sauces at the self-boil station) had vegan/vegetarian labels. It would be very easy for the hotel to be more accommodating by adding some vegan bread and label it, as well as perhaps some vegan granola/cereals (which could be eaten with the excellent soy or almond milk).
(Vegan = no animal products; no meat, no milk, no eggs, no honey, etc.)

Very nice hotel but the location is a little off the city. There is only one bus here. It only runs five times a day. So transportation is a problem. The taxi fare to the downtown Taitung is NT$200 for a small car. Other than this, everything else is excellent.

So-called four-star hotel.

Pretty much nothing at this hotel works as it should. Room service never delivers your food or worse yet, answers your call. Their restaurant is worse than food stalls at night markets (and way more expensive, too), regardless of what time you dine. Probably it was the only hotel among I ever stayed that I'd rather pay them not to eat their breakfast buffet and get something else delivered so I could actually have something edible in the restaurant.

Well, the room itself was fine, except the hallway was full of funky, damp smells--I suspect it's full of mildew beneath their carpet. Oh, and the internet, if you need to get something done online, use your own cellphone. Wireless, wired, doesn't matter. Simply doesn't work. The only thing we liked during our stay was the pool--not because it's well-maintained and designed, but simply because they at least had a kid pool (about 70cm/2.3ft deep).

TL;DR: Unless you're travelling with a small child who loves to swim, stay away.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Lots of amenities to explore, but facilities are a bit aged, could do with a makeover. Air conditioning was way too cold. We turned up the temperature, but it was still blowing cold air. Loved the huge, spacious 4-person room. Great view from the balcony.

Wonderful hotel

And wonderful experience. Room was terrific; 10th floor and view toward ocean, overlooking pool. (Gorgeous - wish it had been warm and we could have gone swimming!) Loved the hot tubs after long days of wandering the coast. Wonderful staff. Highlight was dinner in the Garden Restaurant on 2nd floor: traditional Taiwanese beef/noodle soup was amazing as was the beef curry. Hats off to the chef.

Hotel is quite old, the room is ok but needs a refurbishment as well. The amenities such as the pool and hot spring are really in need for a refurbishment, everything was old and broken. The floor mats were like a hundred years old, it's so cheap to replace them but they don't seem to be interested in that. We booked dinner and breakfast. Both was ok but. The receptionist needs better training, she didn't tell us nothing. We had to ask from the room for breakfast times, dinner times and baby crib.

Room was ok For the East coast, utterly disappointed with the service, couldn't order a alcohol to the room, so was told to go to bar to collect then went there and only told can drink in the B1 with the games room, very poor.
Went to the Chinese restaurant after a member of staff said it was very good, all you can taste is the cheap oil they cook with, left after trying a mouthful of all we ordered and went to find food outside the hotel.

Shame on the Managers.

- Good hardware and location.
- Nice and patient staff and accommodation.
But I have to say, there seems something wrong with the management system because they only assigned two front desk staff for check-in. This in my view a very poor and unprofessional arrangement for weekend crowd. We waited for 40 minutes to complete check-in and I feel so bad for the employees at the reception. They weee so nice and patient even under great pressure due to labour shortage. Shame on the managers in this hotel.

Awful chech-in experience

All personnel provide very good service with good manner. However, their working flow has big problem which cause long waiting queue at the check-in counter. When I entered the lobby, there were about 10 customers in the waiting queue but the hotel only had 2 staff at the counter. I wait probably more than 15 minutes before been serviced.

Other than the bad experience at the check-in counter, everything is good to me.

原本整個住宿感覺都還不錯，畢竟是每年都會入住的優良酒店；早上十一點多退房，到下午四點半老婆發現她的兩條串珠（黑曜石以及硃砂）忘記帶回，放在淋浴間；隨即打電話給酒店櫃檯，櫃檯過一段時間回電，說服務人員只有找到黑曜石那條串珠；不盡理想的是，退房後，客房整理時，如有發現房客遺留物品，應該主動聯繫房客，而不是等房客回撥找物品、櫃檯再聯繫房務人員確認，才又回覆有找到其中一條。另外兩條串珠是戴同一手，拔下來後是綁在一起放著的…很遺憾只能找尋到其中一條，只能提醒自己之後退房前還是要自己再三檢查有無遺留物品，不要影響到旅途的心情，也不要造成旅店多餘的困擾。講了那麼多…往後還是會繼續入住那魯灣的，因為還是我台東行首選旅店。

晚餐不便宜, 一人要$930 ,但口味非常普通 . 前一晚住知本老爺 , 相較之下餐點好吃很多 ! 而且老爺有提供塑膠手套讓人取餐時使用 , 但娜路灣卻沒有 . 另外 , 甜點區沒有提供湯匙 ,我又不想用餐桌上喝過湯的湯匙去喝燒仙草 , 於是向服務人員要 , 沒想到拿來了一支還是濕的湯匙並直接插入我的甜湯碗裡 , 感覺很不專業 !! 還有就是飯店稱我房間陽台的私人湯池是溫泉 , 但水質一點也不滑 , 令人懷疑
