Good hotel for a night before flight. Room large but in need of redecoration, comfortable bed. Receptionist very rude at check in. Buffet meal in evening was excellent. Receptionist ordered us an unlicensed taxi to airport, he had no change and could not drop us off at the taxi rank, he smelt like he had not had a wash for months.

The staff were very helpful but the hotel is not handicapped accessible. The rooms do not have a handicapped shower or toilet. There is no elevator and only a small block of rooms on the ground floor. There is one handicapped parking space and a ramp into the hotel but the rooms are not easily accessible. It was okay for one night.

The room were old and not safe, they changed me from the first room assigned because was mold in the walls the bathroom sink was dirty and broken, but the second room was even worse the safety handles in shower were almost falling off, the carpet was so dirty, the chair in sitting area was so dirty and the noise in the room was unbearable. The next morning when I went for breakfast the personal was cold and the service terrible. I had payed three nights after the ffirst night I decided I couldn’t stay any longer, when I did the check out they didn’t even bother asking why I was checking out earlier. It was a nightmare!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. Not only does it smell bad throughout the entire building, but it is also really dirty. The only thing to recommend it is a location close to the airport, which is convenient for an early morning flight.

The room was not properly equipped with enough towels—there was only one for two guests. When I asked for another towel, the receptionist was rude.

At check in, the receptionist provided no information about parking, breakfast or meals. She’s not even direct me on how to find my room. It was unlike any experience I have had as a traveler in Chile or any other country.

This hotel was very nice. It was great they have a restaurant inside the hotel and a pool. It is in the middle of Calama perfect location for being in the city. The only negative things are I asked for an early check in and they couldn’t accommodate that and we had no WiFi in our room the entire duration. The WiFi was primarily in the lobby.

Why here?

An adequate stay in an ageing building. No early check in- you must sit and wait for 3.00 exactly before commencing paperwork, or in our case a missing booking, despite confirmation emails. No credit card payments for our stay which was awkward and very inconvenient. The restaurant was good. Staff were pleasant although not exactly helpful.

Nothing luxurious but definitely did the job. Was very close to the airport which was very convenient and great security.
Was a shame that no staff spoke English as they advertised. They also gave us vouchers for welcome drinks which was nice but we didn’t use them. They didn’t let us use a voucher for a Fanta we had from the minibar.
The 2nd stay the room was quite cramped.
Otherwise the first room was spacious and the breakfast was good both times. A decent stay overall.

I fortunatelly did not get the gal with the temper that other reviews talk about.

The hotel is very conviniently close to the airport. At this point Uber is permited so it was easy to get to the airport.

We only stayed for one night. The restaurant is a bit pricey but food was ok. One bottle of water from the mininfridge was USD $4. So take your water if you don't want to pay.

Our continental breakfast was included with an omelet.

Overall I gave 5 stars because I did not have any issues.

Disappointed of Calama

Whilst functional, neat and tidy, the hotel lacked any soul. They stopped serving food in the restaurant late afternoon and offered sandwiches at the bar. We therefore ordered sandwiches which came with fries. Clearly the fries were leftover from lunch and were quite cold. The waitress took the whole order back to the kitchen. They came back sometime later. The fries had clearly been warmed up in the microwave, so were hot but recycled and not fresh. Meanwhile, the sandwiches had gone cold and soggy. They were unfit to eat and and ended up being fed to the stray dogs wandering outside. There was no evidence of an apology and we were presented with a bill for the food! I paid for the food the next morning as I had used the food (to the dogs at least) but withheld the suggested 10% tip.
However, on the positive side, the reception staff were as helpful as they could be.

Booked at the last minute because it was close to the airport. Hotel is old and run down, shabby furniture, no a/c, dirty room. Had to sleep with the window open because it was so warm so we heard dogs barking all night. On the plus side, the dinner buffet was good and reasonably priced and the WiFi worked well. Fortunately the bed seemed clean.

Room was OK ,but avoid the food!

The hotel itself was OK, the issue I have is with the restaurant. The food caused me to become sick, which is not what you want the nigh before embarking on 16 hours of air travel. There are no other food options near by either. If you do stay here then I would suggest bringing your own food or making a special request for the chef to wash his hands before preparing your meal.

Good hotel for business and hope you have vehicle

The hotel is quite old now and still looks OK. It is good for business even though i find it expansive for what you get. If you have a car it is fine but if not it in not a walking distance from anywhere. It is very close though to the airport and good location if driving to Antofagasta since it is outside the city. There is not a lot of options in Calama any way, so it is OK. Went for dinner and the menu has about 8 pricy choices if you do otnwant to get the bufet that it is worth it if you are hungry. Cheers.

If you want to stay close to airport this may work for you. However you would be far from town without any food options around. The hotel is old without ac or fan in any of their rooms which in the summer makes the room an oven. The hotel needs a make over but what they really is to train their staff to be more polite. Rude front desk girl makes for a terrible first impression. Not sure I can recommend this place unless you get it for a rock bargain price.

Breakfast was very good and with a wide choice of food. Less than 5 minute drive to airport. Taxi ride to central Calama is 10-15min.

We stayed in this hotel out of necessity since we had an early flight from Calama. Staff at front desk barely spoke English and managed to forget to book us a taxi for the morning. The dinner we had there wasn't fantastic either. We did get a free pisco sour at arrival which was nice. They have a courtyard with swimming pool, hot tub and loungers which was great.

Transfer stop

Stopped overnight on way to San Pedro de Attacama. Whilst it would have been better to have gone directly from the airport tto San Pedro (the taxi driver charged 600 rather than the correct fare of 3000) the overnight stay was good. Our room over looked the quadrangle and suffered from you kids playing tag ay 23.15, very noisy. That said the room was good and the breakfast good too and when the noise subsided we slept well. Specific reference needs to be made about the trainee receptionist, Jasmine, who was excellent and operated 'well ouside what ould have been expected' in trying to resolve some problems. As an aside, we eventually travelled to San Pedro by Turbus at a cost of 2700 instead of 13000 pesos - an excellent and frequent service. Just a taxi ride from the airport.

The Hotel was clean and only 5 mins taxi to Calama airport which was convenient for us. However if you are thinking of staying at this hotel eat before you arrive or bring your own food and drinks. the hotel bar was not open so there was no where to get a drink. dinner was foul, a buffet consisting of salad and poor seafood whch was very expensive at 35 dollars per head. however you are limited to eating here as there are no reataurants or cafes nearby. Bring your own food!!! hotel comfort and cleanliness was good.

This is a very convenient, good hotel for travellers, whether tourist or business, making a brief stop over in Calama. An easy taxi ride from the airport, its well appointed and run.
Dinner and breakfast both offered excellent choice, though the former is quite pricey.
We were surprised that the daytime receptionist spoke no English but she tried her best to be helpful.

Calama is not a cheap town, and during the week employees and contractors working for the mines will fill hotels up fast. The Park Hotel is smart, comfortable, and clean. The bedrooms are not huge compared to ones in the US, but are perfectly adequate. It has plenty of breakfast choices in the buffet which is included in the price. There is a good, if a little pricey (compared to other Calama Hotels), restaurant for dinner. The pool looks inviting but I have never had time to use it. The price of the hotel is extremely good, and they do remember to waive IVA for non-Chilean guests. There is plenty of outside parking, which can be an issue in the center of town hotels if you get back in the evening after the contractors/mine employees (around 6:30 M-Th). Being on the outskirts of the town, you do not have to contend with the rush hour, which for a small town can be surprisingly bad. The drawback to this is there is not too much around so you'll need to drive or get a ride to anywhere in town if you don't want a half hour walk. The airport is a 5 minute drive away, but its not busy and I was never aware of aircraft noise.

Modern luxury hotel close to the airport, which serves mostly business travellers relating to the local mining industry, but is also a great oasis of comfort for those en-route to the Atacama desert on vacation.
Tastefully decorated hotel, with an excellent restaurant and well-stocked bar. Don´t be alarmed at no air-con - it is not needed at over 2,000m.
