Room very dark due to poor lighting.
Had chicken red Thai curry in the restaurant however there was large chucks of aubergine which were quite bitter. I have never had a Thai dish with that and wasn’t expecting it.
There was an odour from the floor too which wasn’t pleasant.

It all looks ok from the lobby but our room was not nice. Overlooking the roof and the railway line it had no air con and was super hot at night. The bathroom was so brightly lit it was like a torture chamber in Guantanamo Bay. No toilet brush 😱 and no working extractor fan. the walls were paper thin so we heard everything when our neighbours had 3am visitors. The restaurant was fully booked but in the end they relented and let us eat in the bar. The food was ok actually and the staff were sweet. The gym didn’t open until 8.30am in the morning. So not able to use it.

WiFi not working, apparently they have one box to serve entire hotel, bar and restaurant. This means that Wi Fi is very poor or non existent in bedroom

TV poor. Couldn’t disable subtitles and would intermittently increase in sound volume.

Hotel was good, terrible nights sleep being kept awake by other people at the hotel who decided to have conversations or talk on mobile phone between 11.30 and 3.30am, then to top it off no water when I needed a shower at 6.30am. Not the best experience.

Great location about an hour from the Dublin airport. Breakfast was over the top! Very clean and top tier customer service. One note, Expedia lists is as having air conditioning. Note - the only rooms in the entire, huge hotel are the suites. So, if you book it during the summer do know the room will be warm unless you book a suite.

Overall stay was fine, friendly staff, we were staying here to visit family so essentially just need to stay here and sleep. Car parking is free but external. Staff friendly. Room was basic but did the job. The gym was good and they even had classes which I wasn’t aware of in the time that I would’ve liked to enjoy.

Ok hotel, town center location. Expensive parking.

Parking at the multistory parking next door was 22€/day. Hotel is beautiful upon entering. Restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The allergens were not correct on the menu though so ask before ordering if you have allergies. Room was spacious and beds were good. Corridors really dark. Breakfast very average but staff were nice.

The steakhouse was fabulous and very reasonably priced. Restaurant in the hotel however was a bit steep even for Ireland! Place was clean and staff were nice. Parking was €16 overnight, however if you bought breakfast (€12 pp) it was free. One minor point, there is no shampoo in the showers in the leisure centre so do bring some.

Lovely hotel with excellent parking. Bar/restaurant was great, kids pizzas were only okay though, not made in house. Leisure centre & pool are great but the pool is quite cool, especially the kids section that is colder than the main pool. Overall a really enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Lovely hotel with great spa. Very central, just a few minutes walk to the Main Street with bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The only downside was that it was a little on the warm side with no air-conditioning.

Very Good Hotel

We stayed here for a long weekend while attending a confirmation. A lot of places around Kildare/Newbridge/Nass were booked so we booked here. It was a really nice hotel, tasteful decor throughout, nice bar restaurant at reception, linked to Kellys which we had a great dinner in, breakfast was really good quality and selection (their fruit was fresh!), comfortable beds, big rooms, great pool/spa facility with steam, sauna, plunge pool, hot tub, exp showers (tastefully done, no public swimming pool feel). Few points to note, no hair conditioner in rooms, swimming pool closed at 6.30pm on the Saturday which is very early in my book. We were looking forward to using it before dinner which we couldn't do so beware. No dressing gowns in rooms. Hotel was hot at night but you can turn the rads off and the windows open.

Overall good experience, convenient room, great choice of breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was that room had dark wall colour, so it was rather dark even during the day or in the morning. Same applies for the corridor. If have something small in your bag and need to find it, well be patient, very patient, because it rather dark.

Very little for children close by. I would not stay again.

Lovely stay at the Midlands Park Hotel - this is over 2nd visit as we come over to watch the Champions Racing at Leopardstown and the Curragh - we use to stay at the Ashling Hotel in Dublin but this Hotel is so much better, cheaper, cleaner and only a 35 min train journey from Dublin - we are all very satisfied with hotel x6 will defo return next year - the very only thing I would like them to do is change the opening hours of the Pool and Gym - they should really be earlier than 9.00am

It was a lovely overnight stay.
We had a lovely meal in the bar that evening. The girl call Vanessa, (i think was her name was amazingly nice. )
I love how you all make it very child friendly and brought up a drink and little gift to the room for our grandson. We have recommended it to lots of friends.
All the saff were so well trained and friendly.
The breakfast was also 5 star quality.
I would love to return again soon.

Very comfortable rooms, we had pur granddaughter with us and the room was nice and spacious. Nice swimming pool area although there was refurbishment work on-going at the time of our stay. Breakfast was efficient, staff very friendly, plenty of choice on the buffet but cooked breakfast was too salty for me.

Ok I haven't been to Europe in some time and never to The Midlands Park Hotel. All in a nice stay in a nice facility. The rooms were modern and clean as was the Hotel. Water pressure in the tub could remove paint but that's not a complaint but no ice machine, vending machines or room fridge threw my American expectations for a loop. The restaurant was great if a bit disjointed in service. My lamb was fantastic but unfortunately Ireland and the US being separated by a common language caused some hiccups. My request for butter yielded a knife and napkins are evidently dispensed sparingly. As is Ketchup. A request for toasted bread on a late night sandwich order was a bridge too far with the night manager explaining it was cold sandwiches only. Hmmmm. But I know, not the US. . The lobby acted as a daycare center and was quite loud... always . St. Patrick's day weekend probably didn't help! All in the best bet in a busy Dublin burb.

Booked this hotel at short notice to stopover on the way to Dublin. The hotel was great for myself, wife and 2 young kids. We hit the great pool on arrival, lovely dinner in the bar after, short stroll to ice cream parlour in the town and a great sleep for all that night. Would stay again. It’s in the middle of the town which I don’t normally go for but have to say staff were lovely so no complaints. There is a public multi-storey car park attached but no issues getting a spot when we arrived

Delighted with a little rounding of disappointmen.

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times as the staff and hotel are always great. The food was great in the restaurant, my only complaint is the the onion rings aren't as they say. They are not beer battered onion rings, but cheap frozen one. Disappointed!
The room was clean, we had to turn down the heating as the room was too hot. Not a bad complaint in Ireland. Overall, we are still happy with the Midlands Hotel in Portlaoise and we will be back.

My favourite hotel. Great friendly staff. Free on-site secure parking. Brilliant gym - pool - spa facilities although of course, they are not open currently due to Covid. The Charters bar is awesome, it's modern decor, great food and a good selection of beers/ales gives it the feeling of going out to a bar/restaurant in town. This hotel competes with any hotel that I have been to in the world.

Lovely hotel and night staff were very helpful. Gave lower score because I highlighted an issue with broken bathroom fan at 7pm on way to dinner and nothing was done leaving. Meant I had to ring down again when I returned to room and had to pack up after 11 at night to move rooms. This could have being done earlier if issue was dealt with in the first place. I stay here a bit for work, this experience was ot reflective of their usual standards, disappointing
