BEWARE - this is the only hotel worth staying in in Manning and would have received a higher rating except that I had booked a 5 person room and did not get one. The ad with BOOKED BY FAMILIES says there are 2 queen beds and a sofa sleeper. This is NOT the case. The front desk said there are not rooms with a sofa. The add still reflects this FALSE bed count! Very frustrating if you do not receive what you feel you have paid for.

The woman out front at check-in was awesome, very accommodating and welcoming…………the room itself was nice and clean………except I had no shades or curtains to draw open and close for sunshine or parking lot lighting……..instead I had black paper hung up over the windows which couldn’t be moved or opened and because they didn’t close correctly, let parking lot lighting into the room all night……….i have pictures of the paper shades………….when I went outside to look at my room from a different perspective I noticed all the other rooms had normal white blinds and normal curtains in they’re windows…..not sure why my room was different. Also when I was booking I noticed you had a workout room on the first floor, so I could get a nice workout in after traveling all day………unfortunately there was a sign on the door “this room out of order”………..I have a picture of that sign also………….kind of disappointed for $190/ night when there were 6-7 other hotels in the area that were charging $89 - $120 per night

The hotel was clean but Expedia advertised it as having an exercise room. However, upon arrival, we found that the exercise room was closed and under renovation. That should have been disclosed - the exercise room is the reason we booked that hotel. The breakfast options were okay, but could have included a larger variety, like oatmeal and almond/non-dairy milk and more hard boiled eggs.
The bed and pillows and sheets were great - very comfortable. And it was very clean.

Hampton Inn by Hilton is always my go-to when traveling CONUS. They are consistent in quality, hospitality, accommodations, and the staff is always brilliant! The only issue I have with the Manning, SC location is PRICE! They really should not be nearly $200/night regardless of the recent renovations (which are stunning, BTW).

We had to take multiple showers with barely warm water. There was only 1 time in 2 days we had a hot shower. We dreaded taking a shower because we ended up cold. We also had an accessible room. The shower has no shower head in the wall. While that accommodated my husband, it didnt me. So, the showers could definitely use improvement. The beds were comfy and it was clean.

The hotel is going through renovations. They seem to be taking the cheap route and just covering up bad areas versus upgrading and improving. Upon arrival, I had to go back to the front desk because my key was not activated and instead of correcting my issue immediately, I was asked to wait until she checked it others. The walls are paper thin and every little sound can be heard hich makes relaxing impossible. The workout room was unavailable. The parking lot was filled with construction equipment and it was raining and pot holes made it hard to find a park. I will definitely try to find an airbnb next time.

From the moment that my wife and I checked in, the desk clerk , Marsha, knew me by name from previous times that we stayed there. Renovations have been ongoing. The he floors have been replaced with luxury vinyl tiles. New carpeting throughout the hotel. The exercise room was off limits as the upgrade is not finished.

Breakfast in the morning is a good starter for the day.

The location right off I-95 makes it easy to get off and then get back on the highway. The hotel is within walking distance to a fabulous Mexican restaurant, Jalisco. A brand new gas station with a convenience store is located next to the hotel. The only downside was in the bathroom. The shower curtain were not long enough into the tub. This necessitated taking a shower very carefully so not to have water on the floor.

We understand the property was in the process of being renovated. But, it is not difficult to maintain standards in the meantime: We found a dirty toilet, non-functioning telephone, bathroom door that caught on the tiled floor and required effort to close........and this was on our initial stay of Aug. 28-29 as well as our return stay of Aug. 31-Sept. 1, when we were given the same room [with the same issues].
Please do better. This experience was terrible.

The customer service was really good. Ashanti checked us in and she was friendly and kind. The hotel appears to be remodeling so the gym wasn’t available and they were doing construction in some areas. It feels like once the updates are complete it will be an excellent stay.

The property was decent. They were undergoing renovations which added a few challenges to the stay. Furniture was missing from the room - unfinished tile work in the restroom - no gym access - limited dining room seating. The overall location fit the purpose of my travel - visit family but stay near the highway. The pool access was great. The breakfast was good and filling. I would love to see the outcome of the property once all renovations have been completed.

This property was under renovation when we stayed. There was no warning this was the case.

The rooms had no curtains but blackout paper that was not fit for purpose. Allowing the bright lights of the travel stop next door to blare into the room.

The largest issue was the complete lack of any sound proofing.

For example we clearly could hear conversations and vehicles outside at the property next door and our next door neighbours television. We could also hear people walking in the room above us and talking in the room below us.

We did not have a chance to have breakfast as we left as early as possible from the establishment.

This is my second, and quite possibly last time staying at this hotel. I have four (4) items of contention.

Hotel renovations
The hotel is being renovated. You failed to mention that when I made the reservation. I wonder why?

Truck stop noise
The last time I was at the hotel, the truck stop was still under construction. Now that it is complete, there is a lot of noise coming from it at all hours day and night. I understand that you have absolutely no control over that situation but I believe your patrons should know about it.

Breakfast
Trash!

Desk clerk
I have had better interactions with AI than I had with the desk clerk when I checked in. She was impersonal, and dismissive. Perhaps the construction company that's renovating the hotel could construct her a personality.

Dumpy Hotel experience with major construction

There was so much construction going on from when we walked in the front door to the elevator. In our room, the wallpaper in the bathroom was coming down and overall it was a dumpy hotel which I was surprised since my stays at other Hamptons have been a good experience. The only positive comment I can think of was that the front desk people were very nice

The woman who checked us in was wonderful. But they’re doing construction in the lobby area, and there was a jackhammer going the whole time, so we couldn’t really hear what she was saying. Though she tried very hard. The hotel is under construction, which I did not know, and I would not have booked here if I had known. We could not get our shower to go above lukewarm water, which is very distressing after a day of travel, to not be able to shower.The lobby and hallways looked awful. However, our room was very nice and clean. They tried to do breakfast as best they could. But the atmosphere of all the construction right next to where the food and tables are, is very uncomfortable.

The elevator broke and we had to walk up the stairs to our room with all the luggage . The slamming of the staircase door was inconvenient in the middle of the night with people having to walk up the stairs. The shower had bodily hairs in it like it was not cleaned from the last guest. The shower water was cold/luke warm at best. The breakfast was delicious, however both mornings the dark roast coffee was empty. The different waffle batters were good and the mini waffle makers were perfect. I do not think we will be staying here again when visiting. Previous visits have always been top notch.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!! Hampton is one of my favorite chains. This one was under renovations and the entire second floor was closed. Lots of noise above if you’re a first floor guest and dust everywhere. Business center closed, restrooms closed. Dumpsters everywhere. I just think Hampton should prewarn guests when there are major projects like this going on.
