Arrived at Hotel the front entrance was barricaded with large stickers from the government saying Hotel closed down , we knocked on the door the people inside saw us and they wouldn’t open the door to let us in someone came outside from another entrance and took us through the back entrance of the hotel . No lights were turned on in the hotel. The restaurant was closed down The bar was closed down We were told we have to order room service and eat in our rooms.. the reason I booked the hotel because it had a nice restaurant overlooking the town Square but it was closed down permanently. Jacuzzi was closed for maintenance. If everything was closed down in the Hotel the restaurant the bar the Jacuzzi no lights front entrance barricaded with confronting stickers from the government.why are they even allowing people to book the hotel??

Very nice location and hotel , the staff was great so courteous and kind! All the front desk personnel were wonderful and all other at the restaurant too. The rooms are nice but they have portable a/c only that was the only thing for which I don’t give them 5 stars. Still they helped with the equipment and our stay was great :) special mentions to Luis and Stephanie at the front desk , they gave us exceptional service . The breakfast Buffett was delicious , overall it was very good

**The biggest annoyance for a hotel of this caliber is having to have someone “inspect” the room after checkout. That’s expected in a small, independent hotel but not in a global chain and the “best” hotel in Cajamarca.

I think this hotel is the best in the Cajamarca, with a prime location next to the cathedral in the main plaza. However, it's falling short in several service areas, in particular it's restaurant Paprika. In addition to that, the hotel is currently under construction and it was impossible to avoid the construction noise and the toxic fumes from the work that permeated the entire Hotel. The odor made me nauseated. Thankfully they put me in a room far away from the construction and although the fumes extended to the hallways I was able to close my door and get away from the fumes .
In particular, we had a very negative interaction with it breakfast stuff at paprika including Jaiber, when we arrived for the breakfast 5 minutes before closing and they were already putting it away cleaning it up. The staff informed me that we had only 5 minutes and I said I'm aware of that but that did not stop them from literally taking food out from in front of me as I was trying to serve myself. I got very angry and they blamed it on management who said that management required them to remove everything at 10: 00am \"en punto\". This bad experience on top of the construction made for a very unfavorable impression of the hotel and I would not return here. I would give a shout out to our bellman Luis, who was excellent and extremely helpful. The beds, the towels , and the sheets were all very nice but the water pressure is very low. It's not surprising in a city that is suffering from drought..

There is also a fridge in the room with drinks inside that is an additional cost if consumed. I do recommend taking a picture of what is provided. Upon check out they tried to charge us for 2 drinks, which were never consumed. I did sign the bill stating that I didn’t not consume the drinks. Hopefully I don’t see a charge to my card or else I will provide another review. The location was great, across the street you will find various tour agencies you can consult, the plaza was well maintained and safe to walk around day or night.

The only problem was renovation on our floor. They were spray painting a room on our floor. The smell in the hall and our room was very bad.

I loved how central this location is to get around. I loved the bar and the bartenders were the best, so friendly and attentive. I didn’t like housekeeping. They didn’t clean my room upon request. The gym was old and the equipment didn’t work. The swimming pool location was weird where I didn’t feel relax as many people and staff were passing through. One day it was 10 minutes for the breakfast to close and I requested a cup of coffee and they couldn’t offer that. As I said before if it wasn’t for the excellent service of all the bartenders I would have a horrible experience but I would come back because of them.

t this present time they are remodeling , looks very empty I loved the beauty salon and the jewelry store that use to be there they need more life inside
I started visiting for my charity work since 2007 I recognized only two person Ricardo an excellent employee, polite .attentive sweet and professional gentlemen and Luis that unfortunately I was unable to see him this time , but I know that he still working.
The cafeteria there are many nice people but they need to have more food variation more nice salads something fresh and light but good chicken salad , chef’s salad ,salmon etc more orientation to foreign guest and healthy less carbohydrates.

The hotel is amazing!!! The only thing I can say it was “complicated” was the moment to take a shower. For some people with hips or articulation problem to get into the shower tub could be a little difficult because the high of the tub. There is not where to hold for help.

Be aware of the prices in room service :(

The weather was great the hotel was good but if you order room services be aware that the price they have in their menu is not the same. I ordered room service por a pitcher of pineapple juice the price in the menu was 16 Peruvian soles but when I went to checkout . For my surprise the pitcher of the same pineapple juice was 25 soles. I did tip the waitress for the juice at the end , I paid double for the juice.

Excellent hotel right in the heart of Cajamarca. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable, the restaurant offers a wide selection of great plates with a view to the main square. The property also has a pool and sauna if you want to relax. Much to do around, like shopping and visiting landmarks. The best part is the staff, their service is superb. This is my third time staying here on leisure travel, and I would definitely stay here again when in Cajamarca.

Hotel was beautiful. The only draw back was the rooms don’t have AC. Not a problem if you have a balcony or face they street side. Interior rooms facing the court yard and pool are hot! Some accommodation should be made to make these rooms more appealing.

Eventhough the hotel needs updating, its the best Cajamarca has to offer, so staying here is a must since there really isn't an adequate alternative. I got sick to my stomach & the hotel has a small clinic onsite which was a great help. The breakfast was also very good.

Great hotel, be careful of your credit card

The hotel was in a great spot on the plaza, perfect location. The hotel staff itself was awesome overall, the food was really really good, the free breakfast buffet was on point. However, I had MAJOR problems on checkout. NEVER EVER GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD. I waited to check out for over 35 mins at 7:30am (I had a bus to catch at 8:15am, 5-8 mins away) and I let the staff know I HAD TO GO, which they just kept saying \"5 more mins.\" I left, and then I get slapped with a $600 soles charge for things like laundry, which they charged me TWICE for, food from the restaurant, which I paid cash for, and they tried to insist that I give them my credit card for a bunch of stuff that they are charging me for, that I refuse to pay because I already paid it.

Registration nightmare

I reserved this hotel for a family member traveling abroad through Orbitz for the same day. When the guest party arrived, the hotel staff could not find the reservation. Although I received an email from Orbitz saying my family had already checked in, the hotel staff was not able to find my reservation anywhere. I had to call Orbitz, so they could call the hotel and confirm the reservation. In total, it took about 2 hrs from the time the guests arrived to be able to checkin in the hotel.
From what my family member told me, the rooms were nice, big, updated and clean. They were able to rest and relax. The breakfast buffet had a lot to offer and the staff was nice and friendly. If you are Peruvian be ready to pay 18% extra at check out, which is not included with your reservation price. I would recommend this hotel to a friend, but will advised to call the hotel ahead to confirm the reservation.

Great location! Great staff!!

We were very satisfied. The staff were very attentive and helpful. When we complained about the loud noise around the pool the second night, they immediately moved us to a nicer room away from the indoor pool. Breakfast was wonderful and again the staff worked very hard to make one's stay enjoyable. We were there for 5 nights. .

Almost a great hotel

They over charged me for one night. Saul was not a very friendly. No one there spoke a word of Inglish. I would stay there again, but the infrastructure was old, but tolerable. No AC,pity.

Great location, clean room

It is located on the beautiful plaza, surrounded by many restaurants and stores.
I like this hotel because the room (all sheets and towels) is always clean and everything (electricity, water, etc) is working well.
Breakfast is included in the fee. The menu and service can be a bit improved. There was guacamole this morning because it is Saturday. THis addition is great, but the bowl was empty. Several times, coffee pots were also empty.
