I am so upset by this entire experience. We booked a room with two double beds and were given a king — despite asking to move and being given a different room. There were very strong smells in all of the hallways — to the point where I started getting a migraine. We decided to inquire whether we could end our two night stay a day early and were told by the guy at the front desk that we could get a refund but would just need to wait until Monday for the manager to issue it. Hotels.com likewise assured me I could get a refund. Based on these assurances I booked another hotel (much more expensive) for our second night in Storrs. Hotels.com is now saying that the hotel owner is declining their request for a refund and are refusing to credit me for my second night’s stay despite assuring me that I would get a refund. A horrible experience from start to finish, all around.

Well, first the computer glitched on my already paid for reservation & tried to bill me $253 extra! Then, I get to the room which is fine, but the low battery beep on the smoke alarm is going off, very loud…I dont know if I can sleep the night. No, I did not call the front desk because I checked in at almost midnight, I am very tired & theres probably no service staff available at this hour. A discount would be nice, for the inconvenience. Yhe room price is expensive, to have to deal with this.

Formal Complaint Regarding Poor Customer Service and Unsatisfactory Stay

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to formally complain about the profoundly unsatisfactory experience I had with your customer service and during my recent stay at your hotel.

My issues are twofold:

1. Unprofessional and Rude Customer Service:
I contacted your customer service to resolve a billing discrepancy, as I was charged twice for a single trip. My interaction with a representative who identified herself as a manager was unacceptable.

· On my first call, she dismissed my concern, stating the system was updating and she could not help. She promised to call back within an hour but did not.
· When I called back two hours later, she claimed she was \"just about to call\" but now could not assist because my call had somehow disrupted her process and she could not locate my transaction.
· She then demanded I email her details instead of resolving the issue on the phone.
· When I requested to speak with a manager, she stated she was the manager. Upon expressing my dissatisfaction with her service, she arrogantly claimed she was \"providing the most excellent service\" I could get.
· She ultimately dismissed me by saying she would call back in two days, which is an unreasonable delay for a billing issue.

This behavior was evasive, unhelpful, and remarkably rude from someone in a managerial position.

they gave me a regular room even though my booking was for a deluxe room. They initially lied about it, but when I extended my stay with a separate reservation, I found out that the deluxe rooms are in a different building. The shift manager showed me both rooms, and that’s when I realized my original room was not deluxe. I was then moved to the deluxe room. However, both rooms had issues. no internet, no hot water, and a very unpleasant smell.

My son and I were in town to visit UCONN. It was a 5 hour trip. We arrived at 3:15 and asked if we could check in a little early. We were told we could but would cost $25. I can understand if room is not ready but why not let us get to our room less than an hour before 4pm? We would rather he just say the room wasn’t ready. It is not a great way to welcome travelers.
Room was fine and beds were comfortable.

Our room was on the second floor at the end of the building and to get to it we went had to go around and around multiple hallways. It was like a maze. Plus we were woken up one morning by the housekeeper who was making up the room across from us. She was talking on the phone loudly and had it on speaker phone with high volume so we heard the other end of conversation too. Went on for 20 minutes.

Issues at check in typically reserve mobility accessible, disconnect during check-in staff was a little dramatic when I requested a first floor room and we were travelling from Florida to CT; let's just say only one of us should have been dramatic, many traffic issues seemed overwhelmed insisting hotel was sold out. Our assigned room was on 2nd floor, with no elevator and the very end of building thankfully there was a chair mid way to the room. Room's AC sounded like a washer continually on spin cycle, room was not properly cooling.

The lack of an elevator was a mild issue, since my wife hurt her ankle, so stairs were difficult. But, we worked through it. However, the hotel ran out of bottled water and had limited other options in the form of non-sugary soda (just Diet Coke). Again, not insurmountable, because there is a Big Y store in the next lot, so I walked over and bought a 6-pack of water. It just seemed that the staff didn't care enough to help, like it was my fault.

Very rude neighbors across the hall. Loud at 9:45 at night Adults snd several kids in and out of two rooms laughing and having a “dance party.” Everyone said goodbye in the hallway at 11:45 pm including the adults making sure every kid said “thank you.” To their “host.” Front desk called our room at 11:15 saying there was a note in the system that we requested towels. We were sleeping. We didn’t ask for towels. Nice room and courteous staff but we won’t be staying again. And the person above us ;’(we were in 127). Was exercising and we could hear the thumping above our head for half an hour. Surprised we could hear anything above us.

Place is fine, room was clean, and facility of quiet. It worked well for our very late arrival (night before college move-in day). It's not fancy, and the backside of the second building has just a small window. One problem was none of our keys worked for the building entrance door closest to our room - the entrance the staff directed us to. Our son went back to get new keys and they still did not work. We had to use a different entrance further from the room.

To be fair, I stayed here 2m ago & it was better. Not a great stay this time. Firstly the bait & switch, expedia advertised the room available for $121/night but then charged $150/night on the payment side(tax separate). Our rooms keys did not work for some reason, had them changed 4 times to finally work (thats a lot of inconvenience for just a 2 night stay). The sound proofing in the rooms is nonexistent. It felt like I was sitting at the table, a part of the conversation with the family next door. I could even hear the telephone conversation of the person on the other end! Then the nonstop stomping from the room above after they checked in close to midnight. Turned on the AC & it was so loud, I thought I would need to turn it off to be able to sleep. Left it on anyway, but it didnt seem to work. The room was hot anyway. Beds are not too comfortable. The fitness rm is tiny & not much usable. The pool gas a toxically high amount of chlorine in it. The eyes/nose sting to just enter the pool area. Otherwise, all was ok. The room was clean, microwave & fridge worked, staff was nice.

Nobody at the desk when we arrived at 730. Lobby toilet out of order. Door keys never worked properly (after multiple tries). Smell in the hallway was awful, like sour licorice. Air conditioning was very loud. We didn’t stay for the second night of our reservation. Even though we didn’t get any money back, it was worth it.

Is a good place to go to sleep. Don’t expect luxury. The room was clean, the employees were helpful and nice. The room had a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There is a supermarket next door in case you wanna get some things to have available to eat. The price was right. The only drawback were the pillows. Too small and hard.

Jenilu was amazing!

Jenilu was the person that helped me check in. She was so sweet and accommodating. We had flown in on a redeye and she allowed us an early check in since the rooms were ready. She even walked us up to our rooms to show us where we were staying. Rooms were clean! They also served breakfast and were extremely reasonable in price. I would absolutely love to stay there again. Lots of shopping and food options nearby.

Reason for 4 star: We had a king size bed. The distance between the mattress and headboard was large. Our half size pillows kept falling in between. We were down the end of the hallway on the second floor. There is no elevator. They should provide push carts on the second floor. Breakfast is not provided. However, there is coffee, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and pastries provided. It was a great value for us. All other hotels were about twice the cost. We would definitely stay there again.

The property flooded during the storm. There was no hot water on Sunday morning.
We called in advance for a joined room for my mother to watch my children and it was not available Upon checkin. I was told in advance that this was no problem.

I stayed at this inn since it was nearby to attend a funeral. My first night, I was bitten by bugs, type unknown, bites all over my legs. Was moved to a room on the second floor and got just a few new bites. Took a shower and had to hold onto the bar the whole time, as the anti slip coating was worn out. Breakfast was sad.
