Highly recommend as an AFFORDABLE option. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was amazing (hot and plentiful). The grounds and buildings are “vintage” in a cute way, although the landscaping is a little sad. I thought I might walk to Hy-Vee (grocery store) to pick up something for supper, but there weren’t any sidewalks. The location is tucked out of the way, which I found to be pleasant while not feeling unsafe.

To be fair, we got the room at 9:45pm and checked in a little after 10 because we were in the middle of a lightning storm.

I'm never sure if the staff appreciate people using online services like this.
The guys at the desk were polite, but not friendly. They assured me that I could have a room on the ground floor. The room they put us in was longer than a full block walk down at least 4 corridors to the end of the last one. We were walking past many conference rooms. I was dropping my bag and finally abandoned it so I could find the room, then went back. It's not that we had so much with us, it was carrying the water bottles and my work stuff from the car.
Speaking of water, their water tasted terrible. Thus the need to give each person a bottle of water. Ice had a horrible smell and taste.

Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was usual make your own waffle, scrambled eggs, sausage, and good breakfast potatoes.

Many kids there that day. They were not a problem.

In the same situation I would stay again but would use the one luggage cart to get my stuff to the room.

This hotel itself is substandard. The overall condition of the building is just sad. She is a tired old building that should be totally refurbished. On top of that, the \"breakfast\" was prepackaged muffins, ugly fruit... instant scrambled eggs. The counters in the breakfast area were disgusting and sticky. The person who checked us in was outstanding. She was friendly, cheerful, helpful, and kind. A wonderful ambassador for the hotel.

Will definitely not be staying at a Best Western again. When we checked in we weren't even given directions to our room. I asked for the direction to the elevator, since our room was in the 300, the elevator did not take us to the side of the floor our room was in. We hit a dead end!
The property was dark and dingy! Our tv didn't work. I saw a bug crawling on the hallway. Just bad overall!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Very Disappointing. Parking lot access door did not lock so was open to the public at all times. Was reported to management but nothing was done. When people checked out, room doors were left standing open (overnight) so that anyone coming in via the unlocked doors had a room waiting for them to use.
Bathroom had mold/mildew.
Lobby has video gaming machines - a new addition in the last 2 months. Front desk staff was very proud of this addition. This traveler found it an unpleasant addition.
Be careful of the \"partially refundable\" as this is not true. I tried to cancel a portion of the stay but was advised that there was no refund so after paying for full stay checked out early.

We have stayed at this property at least annually for last 14 years and this is the first time I have ever been this disappointed. First, I went to fill the bathtub and noticed the outside of the tub had long, black curly hair stuck to it. So I felt like the tub probably wasn't clean enough for a soak. I was a little surprised that the hotel says they are pet-friendly but then charged a $40 a night fee. I figured that was like a security deposit so I let it go. My husband and I were celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary so we had bought a special dog biscuit for our dog to eat when we had our special meal. My dog did get pink frosting on the duvet cover, but that would have easily washed out. If it would not then my dog would also be stained pink and he is not. So I was horrified when I received a call that we were being charged $100 for destroying linens. I still tried to resolve the situation by asking if they had laundered the linens and was told they were ruined. I suggested giving me the linens as if they were now unusable and I would be charged for them, at least I could see that the stains wouldn't come out and would have something for my money. The person calling refused; saying they had already been thrown out. This sounded like a lie as clearly they would have still been on the property as we had only left an hour prior. I will continue to rate this stay on every app I can find and will do a BBB report until I either get the ruined sheets or a refund of the $100

The hot breakfast was good. The room was really nice, except for a small leak around the lavatory faucet. The hotel was really quiet, because there were fewer guests than normal, even on a holiday weekend. The proprietor was very friendly and interested in our opinions about the property. Nice sized pool, but no hot tub. Expedia promise of two complimentary drinks, means two bottles of water. No bar or restaurant in this sprawling building. We would come back again.

Huge place. Almost like a former convention center? Anyway, we arrived after midnight and were absolutely exhausted. There were only 4 cars total in the parking lot. Not many people on a Friday night…creepy.
We just wanted to get in bed. Instead…
The hostess sent us to the furthest room, around the hotel maze (it was so hard maneuver since you go through several closed doors AND they have no signs) on the top floor— which is the 3rd floor, but you push the level 2 button on the elevator???)
We got lost. It took 20 minutes to find our room, and it was literally the very last room at the very end of the last possible hall we could find. Totally a mess!

This property was interesting as it is an older property with very distinguished decor which I appreciated. A few things could be improved. Our entry door into the building was not capable of locking. Our room was very clean and I appreciated the amenities in the room. My only suggestion is that they get better and cleaner towels. The towels or soiled should not have been in the room. I travel with face towels myself, but I’m sure some people do not. The staff was very friendly. Our breakfast was good, and it was nice to have a hot option as well. We asked for an extra hour to check out and haf no problem. The price was very reasonable for the stay. I would stay at this property again.

Enjoyed the amenities, location was nice. The hotel has lots of outdoor space for walking or sitting. Inside was clean and quiet. Painting and caulting in some areas, especially in the bathroom, was sloppy and unprofessional. The lounge was closed, apparently permanently. Breakfast was nice. Fresh and warm.
We requested an additional night, it was available, but the rate was more than we paid for the three previous nights combined. So much for loyalty.

We have stayed here many times before and this time I had a few complaints. There is no fan in the bathroom and the tub was not draining properly after taking a shower. Pillows in room were very uncomfortable for your neck however the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was just ok. Eggs had a weird consistency and oder. The potatoes were very tasty. I chose this Best Western because of location. If I return for a stay I would hope for some improvements

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Perry and his staff were great in the breakfast area. They kept the food hot, fresh and plentiful throughout the entire breakfast. They were available for all the guests.

However, I do have a compliant. The back door lock was broken. I did not feel secure as anyone can just walk in and could potential cause a problem.

The building itself was in decent shape, You could tell that some areas was starting to age. The lobby area was in excellent shape and looked great. Phones inside the room did not work. I stayed with a pet. I believe the room smelled the way it did because it was a pet room. It was bearable but I did expect a little more. The family running the hotel were all very friendly and most spoke very good English. No problem there. The grounds were well taken care of, I did not use the pool but it looked just fine. Could use a couple of maps around the hallways and rooms for the hotel itself due to the layout. Most of the updates or upkeeps need to be done on the exterior of the building, ie extended stay building. Overall very good stay fairly reasonable prices for the area and I would recommend it to other people.

Floor number designations are very confusing.
The 1st floor label on the elevator is actually the rooms with 200 #.
You get on the elevator, press the 2nd floor button, and the doors open to the 3rd floor.
There is no 3rd floor button in the elevator.
Very confusing.
I ran into another couple that was as confused as me.
The desk clerk tried to explain, but it still made no sense.
It would be very difficult for 1st responders

We loved the pet friendliness of this property! It was so convenient to be able to take our dogs out through the sliding door directly into the courtyard instead of through a hallway. The courtyard area was really lovely and breakfast was a nice surprise perk.
