This is the kind of property that would have been okay had the price matched the condition of the property, it wasn't the worst but it certainly wasn't great. It's an older property, cleaning up but it's not immaculate maybe it's just because everything just was a little rundown so I thought the price was a little high considering it was only a little bit less than what the Hampton inn was charging but for a Best Western is really kind of disappointing. I think I'm going to start scratching Best Western off my list of acceptable hotels I've had not so great experiences with them for the last three I've stated so although it was not really that clean, the staff was absolutely amazing and made up for it so I didn't see fit to complain about it

Great location. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The casino is only about five minutes away, which made it very convenient. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to try the complimentary breakfast because we left early and forgot about it.

Breakfast was excellent, staff was very friendly and polite, parking was good bottom floor love being able to park at room door. The night was little noise sleeping, the fan wouldn't stay on to cut out the noise from outside on the heat unit. Other than that good stay would definitely stay again.

Room was dirty. Trash in room from previous guests including soiled Q-tips on floor. Shower and commode dirty with pubic hairs, etc. Shower scum on tub and shower curtain. Television did not work. Desk staff were indifferent to our concerns. Overall a terrible experience not becoming Best Western standards.

Kim at check in was fast,courteous,helpful and great. The room was big,clean,comfy and relaxing. The breakfast consists of sausage,biscuits,gravy,eggs ,waffles,bread and some prepackage sweets. Honestly ,it wasn't great,but it was free The problem is,on the backside of the hotel,there are tents put up where people are sitting and eating all times of the night. I have no problem with this,but while we were there,the police were called because of a disturbance with them. The police were here for a very long time,and made it hard to get into our parking spot . I read in another review they are the people working on the roads eating out now fthe tents and staying at the hotel.They are loud,and some of them whistle and tell at every woman that walks by. Early of the morning,around 5-5:30 the trucks cranking up and the lights shining in the rooms are very aggravating. If this bothers you,ask to be put in the front of the hotel away from the noise. We'll ask for that next time .

We enjoyed our one night. If I may suggest one thing. The staff when we checked in were unprofessional and frankly I had some apprehensions of staying here. There was a young heavier guy eating at the desk and it just seemed a bit unprofessional.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean, but the rooms were very old, for example the sink faucet was not attached to the vanity. The motel hosts a lot of permanent residents. There was a large Hispanic population that seemed to live at the motel full time because they had permanent tents and grills in the parking lot. We did not leave our room after dark for safety reasons. I would stay at the Hampton Inn next door if I had to stay in the Murphy, NC area again.

The employees were great but the room was a little bit wear down. The bed covers were a little bit ripped in different places but the mattress was comfortable. Refrigerator was noisy and froze everything up. The hair dryer was missing and the ice machine was broken and the vending machines were out of stock on almost everything. But everything else was great.

We stayed in a pet friendly room (which the expectation is that it probably won't be as clean as a regular room) With that being said, our room smelled horribly like cat urine. The tables were bowed out and uneven. The shower was re-done so that was nice. You could tell they were attempting to improve, but not quite there.

Room appeared clean but had a bad smell. at first it was covered up with a room fragrance by housekeeping but that wore off and it was obvious this was done to cover up a bad smell in the carpet. The carpets are badly in need of cleaning or replacement. Also, the parking lot was full of trucks and lots of Hispanic workers staying there. They were very loud and noisy and the next morning they filled up the breakfast tables and there was no food left.

Property is a converted motel, and infrastructure and facilities are old and unpretentious. Linens and towels are old, though clean. Beds and matresses were good. Shower and bath were definitely showing their age, needing some caulk and paint. Some smell of disinfectant from the carpet. AC worked well!
We were OK with it and stayed 3 nights. A reasonable stay for a fair price.

The hotel itself was fine. No frills. Simple lodging. The rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. Breakfast was free. It wasn't the best breakfast around, but it filled an empty spot. My experience was unpleasant there, but not because of the room. There was an issue with check in and i dont know if it was the hotels fault, hotels.com's fault or both. The hotel claimed they couldn't find my reservation in their system once we arrived for check in. We had to sit and wait in the lobby for close to an hour before it was resolved. The hotel didn't even try to fix it. They made me call hotels.com to fix the problem myself. Hotels.com said their only option was to refund me, which didnt fix our problem of needing somewhere to sleep. The hotel said their only option was to have me book and pay for the room directly with them. So i ended up being charged twice for the room. I'm still waiting on my refund from hotels.com. check in was extremely painful and time-consuming. The front desk clerk wasnt very kind and was not very helpful at all. They did apologize in the end, but it didn’t make much difference at that point. I likely would not book a room at this hotel again and i wouldn't suggest this hotel to anyone else either.

Time For A Renovation!

The view from my room was of a Hampton Inn that I wish I was in but they were booked. The carpets are disgusting and filthy. I was walking around barefoot in the room and my feet turned dark brown. The beds are broken down so you can feel the springs and the pillows are beat up as well. The staff were fine.

Compared to other 30 plus Best Westerns I stayed at previously I have to say I liked this one the least but first off I will start with the positives. My wife and I liked the fact that it was quiet, had fast food in walking distance and breakfast in the morning. My negatives were that this property is outdated i.e. old toilet tub fixtures..toilet did not work properly, dirty carpet. there were some stains on sheets on one of the beds. Upon entering room the was a stale smoke odor when this suppose be a non smoking room and also my wife and I had to deal with marijuana smoke coming thru vents in our room thru out both nights we stayed and was so uncomfortable.(My wife has asthma but the way).The sheets made our skin very itchy. Housekeeping also skipped our daily room cleaning and when I called front desk I was advised by a lady they let housekeeping go early for Christmas Eve which is a poor excuse for performing hospitality duties and previous Best Westerns I have stayed on holidays still performed their duties so that was not excuse especially that's a part of the service what I am paying the hotel for and therefore expect to receive it and all you get is sorry and no compensation for it. So overall no we didn't enjoy our stay.

About 30 minutes later, the AC came on, but the rest of the room had no power. It did not come back on for about 6 or 7 hours. Some rooms had lights and power but ours didn't.

We typically stay at Holiday Inn, but based on price we elected Best Western, we are so absolutely glad we did! The manager check us in and was so nice :) and you could tell the staff enjoyed their job. Had to stop by the office 2 other times and could not have been happier with the service we received. When we come back, we will definitely be staying here again!!

We got our dogs and our things and checked out. The two women in the office acted like they didn't have a clue about the situation.

A typical motel. Room was clean. Beds a bit too soft, but comfortable enough for a couple good nights sleep. They allow pets (limited number of rooms) and was the primary reason for choosing this location.

Breakfast was surprisingly good (sausage, eggs, pancakes, delicious and thick sausage gravy) with juices, coffee and danishes.

No problems or issues to report with possible exception of: My brother locked himself out first thing. (LOL) He had his key re-programmed then my key wouldn't work. Seems they should be able to program all for the same room, but minor inconvenience.
