A great view and location

Salo du Parc is in an ideal location close to many restaurants and bars in the old town and right on the lake. Our room was spacious and had a spectacular Lake and pool view. Breakfast was excellent. Drinks were a reasonable price. They were not so generous with in-room items like milk, replacement water and coffee pods. Gorgeous towels.

Amazing hotel and excellent surroundings

Very happy with the stay. Wonderful hotel, clean, tidy and very friendly staff.
Friendly service as soon as we arrived and throughout.
Our room was clean and comfortable with lots of space.
Overall a wonderful stay with such beautiful views.
Short walk to the town which is excellent and has fantastic shops and restaurants. Nightlife is amazing their to.

The hotel is a lovely location within short walk from downtown and to the beautiful walkway along the lake. The room and bathroom were modern and spotless. Breakfast was adequate. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Alex who helped to resolve a booking issue in a kind and efficient manner. The garden and pool are superbly well maintained. A very satisfying experience.

The hotel was absolutely great and look forward to retuning in the near future.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.The appeared to glide around when in service around clients.
The rooms had everything we required, spacious and very clean.
Always fresh towels in bathroom and toiltries. Bottled water left each day.
Nice area around pool and very well kept gardens (maintained every morning) sunbeds and chairs and towels to use on these availible.
The hotel situated well to walk into Salo harbour area and town.

An excellent small hotel with loads of space in the hotel and lakeside grounds. Numerous great areas around the pool, lake front or shaded space to chill on sun-beds.
All rooms have lake views. The hotel is on the edge of the lake with great views across it.
Breakfast excellent with plenty of choices. Good evening meal options if you didn't want to walk the 5 minutes into Salo.
Hotel is a great base to explore the rest of the lake locations from.
Excellent and helpful staff. All spoke good english as my italian is very limited.
Can't fault the hotel. Thinking about next years holiday already!

Hotel Salo'du Parc is a wonderful hotel. Staff are amazing, location is perfect and the grounds / hotel are kept in top condition.
The only thing that needs improvement is the breakfast, it is always empty of food and often you need to ask for them to bring out more meats or hot food.

Hotel Salo Du Parc is my favourite hotel - I return twice a year and it is superb. But I have just returned from a 5 day break there and the breakfast really was very disappointing. It is served from 7.30am - 10.30 am - But if you do not go early the popular plates such as cold meats and fruits are very empty. If breakfast is served until 10.30am at 10.15 the plates should still be fully stocked as though it is 7.30.
We will be returning in August and hope this will have been rectified as there will be 7 in our group.
Apart from this the hotel is faultless - amazing staff, service, cleanliness and overall one of the best.

Everything with the actual hotel was amazing. However we had a rental car that was parked in their garage and someone hit it but they had no cameras to help us find out who it was. This resulted in a damage fee of €2000... we were extremely disappointed with the hotel for not taking liability or having any cameras

The location, right on the lake and only a hundred or so meters from the town was superb. Excellent rooms. The only criticism was that they did not replenish the bottled water and convenience packs in the bedrooms. The reception and restaurant staff however were superb.

Close to beach and Town / Boat transfers

My friend and I stayed here 1- 8 October so the hotel was very quiet.

We walked into Town every day (less than a 5 minute walk for us and we’re both 60). There are two ways to walk in to Town - left out of hotel and then under the arch through a cobbled lane or along the lake front - both lovely and safe to walk even at night.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and had a lake view (Room 409). Continental Breakfast was plentiful for us and not rushed, but as I said the hotel was not very busy.

We had dinner at the hotel twice which was reasonably priced. However, you could easily eat much cheaper if you went to the cafes at the various stops around the lake.

Bar drinks at the hotel were similar to outside and the bar staff were lovely and helpful.

There is a nice pool and you could also take a dip in the lake via steps.

Our only gripe was our beds - as the were VERY hard! We both woke with sore hips each morning ! But again that might just be because we’re old!

Overall loved our staff here and would definitely go back.

Our room was on the 5th floor, with the most delightful and wonderful views overlooking Lake Garda,from our little terrace, very serene.

An invigorating swim in the pool, was also very enjoyable!

My only complaint is,the very uncomfortable flat hard pillows !

Very friendly and helpful staff especially at the Reception.

We loved Salo and this hotel was perfect for us. We would love to go back. The staff were friendly and helpful. The position on the edge of town is a quick walk to the Main Street and promenade. The restaurant dinner was beautiful food, as was the breakfast buffet each morning. The property was just beautiful, lovely gardens, a couple of families of ducks visiting in the little boat harbour with their babies, the views up the lake from the balcony were spectacular. A gorgeous blue inviting pool with plenty of choices for your deck chair. A bar well stocked with backgammon & chess boards and a big shelf of paperbacks by the rooms. Everything you could ask for and wonderful staff.

Stunning view, perfect location!

Lovely hotel, with a relaxed ambiance, a pool (which a lot of hotels in the area don’t have), incredible views of lake Garda, with a pier that leads directly on to the lake from the hotel so you can go in for a swim if you get too hot sunbathing (the sun beds are great at this hotel, they have pull down hoods to shield your face). The restaurants and shops of Salo are a 3 minute walk away, located just on the prominade, so this hotel is perfectly located. We are a couple in our thirties who stayed in a junior suite with a lake view for 5 nights in August & Salo was the perfect romantic location for us & this hotel mainly because of the view of the lake & the location to restaurants was absolutely perfect for us. Would highly recommend! Amazing place! (Thursday night is Salo is great because there is live music until 2300 in the town square!)

A place to lay back before joining the fray

The hotel is near the end of the promenade and therefore close to a range of meals. It is a longer walk to the boats, shopping and better eateries. For those arriving by local bus, the stop is just across the street, very convenient. The grounds are well cared for and a pleasant place to lounge. The breakfast facilities are really satisfying. Outdoors or indoors. Some of the best fresh fruit and yogurt on our trip. We needed an iron to press our shirts for dinner, but did not find one in the room. Nor did we see an ironing room amoung the facilities. We should have seen whether they had one. Things hung, Italian style, but there was little drawer space to allow us to emplty our bags of the non-hangables. The refrigerator was a bit warm, but cold enough not to damage medications we carried.

Seventies glamour

The seventies might not be the obvious decade for glamour - but this hotel is sleek glamour all over! Not immediately beautiful when you arrive, it reveals itself when you go into reception - and even more so when you see the views from every room and every public space. Quality of the finish is brilliant! Staff are delightful.

Had a wonderful stay at hotel. Hotel is in great location, staff are courteous. Breakfast small but adequate. Beds not so comfortable but rooms clean and tidy. Plenty of sun beds and shaded areas right on the lake - it is a wonderful setting.

Town of Salo has some lovely restaurants and places to visit. Hire a boat it is well worth the money and a great way to see the Lake.

Highly recommend hotel for your stay in Lake Garda.

Chilling on the lakes!

On the 5th floor - what a view, and comes with bonus an extra large terrace with sun beds. Lovely grounds in which you can fully relax and unwind all day long in and out of the pool. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold food. Staff very helpful. Fantastic location with a nice walk along the prom into Salo.

We would highly recommend Salo - lovely litke town with good selection of restaurants
Best Gelateria ever is next to Duomo!
The hotel itself is fairly comfortable. Rooms are quite basic but very large and all have a balcony with wonderful lake view.

Lovely hotel in perfect position

This hotel is really lovely. Rooms are enormous with very large balcony. Lovely lake view from all rooms. Up to date, modern bathroom. Beautiful, well kept garden and pool area with direct access to the lake for some wild swimming. It's a really peaceful place to relax after a day's sight seeing. Breakfast also very good. Would definitely return to this hotel if back at Lake Garda.

Avoid if you have a car!!

Can't really complain about the hotel itself lovely view and breakfast acceptable. However if you're driving there or have a car to park, factor in the 15 euro per day fee to park (If there are even spaces available) plus the 3 euros per day 'tourist tax' which for a 7 night stay totals 126 euros, just to park the car!

Perfect relaxing week-long break by the lake

We both needed a quiet holiday to recharge but with the option to get out and enjoy the culture, food and activities if/when we wanted. The hotel is perfectly positioned on the edge of the town centre so it is removed from the bustle of Salo but at a few minutes' walk, very accessible.
The pool and lake-side deck chairs are immediately accessible to the hotel and are part-shaded by trees if the heat or sun gets too much. There is also a ladder down into the lake itself giving even better views for the more adventurous.
All the staff are great and keen to help out whatever. The food is good for the four stars and evening menu changes daily but reception is happy to book you somewhere recommended if preferred.
Family friendly but not too dominated so you can enjoy peace and quiet.
Papillon, Qb2, Tip Tap are all restaurants worth a visit. Reserve at GYC hire for boats

Very Peaceful. Residents average age quite high, so not really a family hotel unless the family are older. Service at the Bar and reception ok, but communication can be difficult if you cannot speak Italian. Nothing much to do later in the evening, but if you want peace and quiet and a drink/chat up to 11pm this is ideal.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel in September 2014. The hotel is modern with comfortable rooms having an excellent view over the Lake. At the back of the hotel is a swimming pool in a garden which runs down to the lake itself. This is a very agreeable place to relax. The hotel provides a delicious breakfast and good snacks for lunch. It is a short walk from the town of Salo, which is charming with an agreeable 'passeggiata' along the lakeside,and many good restaurants. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. This hotel is much to be recommended.

We were re-visiting this hotel for our 10 year wedding anniversary, after staying here on our honeymoon. It did not disappoint. The restaurant has been upgraded and in general the hotel feels welcoming, friendly, spacious, with amazing views of the lake and direct access from the jetty, if you fancy a dip in the water (also there is pool). Can't wait to come back.

Wonderful views across the lake

Location couldn't have been better - we were right next to the long promenade, full with cafés, bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were all very kind, warm and friendly. It was quite a quiet hotel, and the pool area was rarely crowded which made for a lovely, relaxing stay. We paid the little bit extra for a lake view which was absolutely worth it. Only niggles would be that our room wasn't particularly 'pretty' or welcoming; more functional. It was also not very soundproof! However, we were barely in it and the cleanliness couldn't be faulted - and as the hotel was quite quiet and small, we weren't bothered by noise often - just the odd gargle of the room next door's plumbing and conversations in the corridor every now and again.

Stunning!

Couldn't have picked a better hotel for our stay. It was situated right on the lakeside with a panoramic view from the gardens and pool area. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive and our room was incredibly spacious with plenty of storage for our luggage. The view from our balcony was breathtaking! Salo itself was beautiful, with plenty of restaurants and cafe bars and the promenade, where you could enjoy many a relaxing walk, stretched all around the bay! All in all, an absolutely fantastic holiday and we will most definitely return!

What a location!

Lake Garda is stunning, the small 'gulf' of Salo is a jewel and the view from the top floor balconies of the hotel is majestic. The rooms are large, crisp and airy. Although a pre-cast concrete panel of a structure which looks rather like the car park on the opposite side of the road from the front, once you are inside and find your way to the lake-side view the whole place is transformed - its a very nice surprise! We were able to get a parking space just outside which was a few euros more than the public parking but more convenient. The desk staff were generally pretty helpful, restaurant staff were very good as were the cleaning staff. The pool & gardens are well tended with easy access to the lake for a dip. The fresh buffet breakfast was wonderful ( they've ditched the 'boil your own egg' idea from when we visited 2 years ago - it just didn't work ). The bar / restaurant / patio areas are large, well-appointed and relaxing places to be.We didn't have dinner at the hotel but the menu did look good and would have tried it if we had been there longer. This was our third visit to the hotel and we certainly intend to return in the future.

We stayed at the hotel approximately 5 years ago and it appears that nothing has been done since then. The rooms on floors 4 and 5 give a far better view of the lake than floor 2 where we were this time. The upper floors are also more in keeping with a four star hotel.

This hotel is ideally located just a few minutes from the old town and the ferry point.Rooms are large, as are the balconies, and every room has a superb view of Lake Garda. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean albeit furnished in a rather dated way. Breakfasts were fine - continental with variable scrambled egg available. We only ate dinner once - and that was not good (my lamb chops were inedible and my wife's chicken very dry) - but there are plenty of restaurants in the lovely town of Salo.

Brilliant Location by the lakeside

This hotel is in a brilliant location and our room had the most amazing view. I was however travelling with my husband and 8month old baby and although they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable there were a few things that were a little inconvenient such as only being able to go part of the way in the lift and having to lug the pram up stairs to get to the room PLUS the lift was only JUST big enough for my pram (a McClaren) and myself. If your buggy was any bigger it wouldn't fit in and you'd have to leave it in reception. Of course, this is due to the age of the building I expect and the fact that their is not big enough room for a larger one but thought I'd mention it just in case....if you do stay and you have a big buggy perhaps ask for a room on the same floor as reception. Staff really friendly and accommodating and whilst the hotel was very clean and tidy it really needs a lick of paint on the outside and some more up to date decor on the inside. Location wise it is ideal for anybody wanting to explore Salo and the nearby lake. All of the local restaurants are child friendly as most Italians are, everyone made a fuss of my son and did whatever they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Mixed bag in Salo

Great location overlooking the lake in Salo. Short walk to the lakefront, shops & restaurants. Helpful multi-lingual staff.

Hotel itself rather retro & could do with some general sprucing up. Maid service came too early every morning, often whilst we were getting dressed, which was rather annoying. Having to pay for parking on the hotel property was rather disappointing.

Would stay again, but would try to get in elsewhere first.

The views from our balcony were fantastic. All staff were very accomodating and informative. The breakfast was adequate. We did have dinner one evening which was not up to the standards one would of expected from a 4* hotel. The hotel needs some refurbishment, especially in the ensuite toilets. Hotel grounds and swimming pool very good. (lots of space). The outside seating area was very comfortable. Overall an enjoyable experiance.

Hotel Salo du Parc - Ideal Location but dates

This hotel is located at the end of the promenade in a quiet, tranquil position with room over looking the lake, stunning! Rooms are large with wooden flooring and kept very clean. Noise from other rooms is very easily heard, luckily we had fairly quite neighbours during our stay. The interior of the hotel is very dated and needs some attention.

Our main bug bear was the lack of parking and the only 'real' option, other than driving around to find on-street parking, is to pay 10 Euros per day for off street parking, situated across the road from the hotel.

Breakfast was above average but not having any cooked food was a little disappointing.

Salo itself is probably one of the loveliest and most authentic Italian town around the lake and would definately return to Salo but maybe not to Hotel Salo du Parc Hotel.

Fantastic 30th in salo

Really good hotel, salo as a place and the hotel itself were the highlights of our trip. Fantastic view of the lake from the giant sized room! Only 5 mins walk from the waterfront restaurants and bars. Perfect for celebrating my wife 30th! Simon, uk

Total Disappointment

The hotel is very old and in poor conditions.
The room was big but dusty and dirty.
The Air condition did work.
The water in the taps was brown.
The furniture was poor (maybe from the late 70)
I can consider it being generous as a poor 3 star hotel.
The hotel has no parking lot so you have to park your car in a private parking lot.
The staff in the front desk was new and unexperienced.
Breakfast was very poor. No hot dishes or fruits.
They use to charge an extra 18 euros for baby crib per night where all over the world its free.
We travell a lot all over Europe and I dont remmember such a disappointment.

Great Hotel in Salo, will be back next year.

We have just returned from a delightful short spring break in Salo. We have done this on several occasions over the last few years but this is the first time we have stayed at the Hotel Salo' du Parc. It has a great location. Our very spacious balcony looked out over a beautiful garden to a breathtaking view of lake Garda. It was just on the edge of the medieval centre of Salo which meant we were outside the complicated one-way system. Parking was no problem but we were there off-season. The Hotel itself was a bit dated but more retro than shabby. The room was fine, quite spacious compared to many Italian hotels. The bed was OK, a bit firm for us but can't really complain. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment but had all the basics. There are plenty of great cafes in Salo so you wont have to look far for a good, inexpensive breakfast. Salo itself is a jewel and by far the best resort on this side of Lake Garda. Plenty of great shops and restaurants and in season there are ferries to all the other resorts. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort and this hotel. We are already planning our next break there in Spring 2011.

Superb position

We changed our reservation to the Salo du Parc from another Hotel tthat we already had on hold. This was due to the special offers which made it more affordable for us, we were really pleases that we did. The Hotel is in a superb position , the only one that appers to be right on the lake. Our room was a little dated but always spotlessley clean , the huge balcony with stunning lake views certainly made up for it. We only stayed on B&B as we like to eat out locally, the dinner menu looked good if not a little expensive at 30 euros but his was for 4 courses which we wouldn't have managed to get through. The breakfast buffet did not vary during our 12 night stay but was adequate for our needs. The bar area did not have much atmosphere and the drinks very expensive so we didnt bother with that facility (neither did many others during our stay) The staff were very pleasant and helpful especially one young lad on reception. The pool area was always kept clean and tidy and was not busy during our stay in spite of average temperatures of 27 degrees.Overall we had a really enjoyable stay .

Hotel Salo du Parc

Extremely convenient and well locatated. The hotel is very comfortable and the lake views fantastic. The bed actually faces the alke so you great great morning views. The decor is slightly tired with heavy wood panels but the service super and the pool a real bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. It is in a great position to walk into the town and Salo is lovely. Loads of restaurants and cafes and feels slightly upmarket to some of the other towns. I would go again.

The hotel was in a beautiful location with well maintained grounds and swimming pool. However, the hotel staff were very unhelpful and we had to ask for guide books etc, were not offered a discount card for the Garda ferries and it was left up to us to find parking. The room was not very clean and we had to ask for bathroom top-ups. Certainly not 4* service and not good value for money.

Hervorragend mit kleinen Abstrichen.

Das Hotel spielt alle Stücke. Straßenseitig.... naja. Seeseitig.... olala. Das Bad ist modern eingerichtet mit einer hervorragenden Dusche. Das Zimmer selbst hat ein großes Bett was aber schon abgegen sein dürfte. Der Blick über den großen Balkon auf den See lädt zum träumen ein. Das Frühstück war ebenso hervorragend und mehr als ausreichend.

Wir waren 1 Woche vor Ort, tolle Anlage, ruhige zumeist ältere Gäste, direkte See-Lage, alles gut erreichbar, Handtücher für Pool und See stehen frei zur Verfügung, Pool-Bar bzw. Café sind ebenfalls immer besetzt.
Rundum ein wirklich wunderschönes Hotel mit Erholungseffekt!!!
