I have been choosing Sofitel BKC as my preferred stay in Mumbai since 2014.

This stay was the first time i noticed that the hotel is ageing and things have changed.

Cleanliness or finishing quality in shower enclosure bottom and corners was questionable.

There were patches of dust in some corners in the room.

The smart tv was not opening any apps like YouTube or Netflix despite being connected to hotel Wi-Fi. I connected it to my phone hotspot to watch RC.

I remember earlier French press coffee jar and ground powder was standard issue in rooms. Now one gets sleepy owl coffee, which is not high end.

Towels smelt of bleach. Literally a day earlier i stayed at nearby Trident and their towels were smelling fresh and floral.

All above points to substantial cost cutting measures affecting guest experience.

Staff hospitality & attitude remains top notch.

This stay alone has not dissuaded me from choosing them next stay but i will keep my eyes peeled in future!

The Sofitel BKC Hotel in Mumbai is an excellent property which caters to a wide range of tastes with breakout spaces for drinks and snacks besides the main Pondicherry cafe.

Unfortunately I could not get any points for my three nights stay as I booked through Expedia. Unless this policy changes travellers will never get the full benefit of using this property.

The room had strong moldy smell & the bath tub was not filling properly due to knob not working. The guests were not allowed to bring any edible items even cookies or chips etc to the hotel room, thus kind of forcing them to buy food from hotel restaurant itself, which was very expensive. Other than that staff were friendly & helpful.

Absolutely loved my stay at Sofitel. The staff were amazing, attentive, and super helpful. Everyone called me by my name - which goes a long way when you stay in hotels most of the year.
Room was big, comfortable, and had a deep soaking bathtub - a must for me!
Breakfast had everything you could imagine.

Coming back in a few days to spend my birthday 😊

It was a lovely stay. We had a 2 night stay from 12-14 March. The housekeeping, the reception staff and the chef at Pondicherry cafe were all excellent and very eager to help. We found the breakfast spread quite elaborate and space for local as well as global cuisine. The location of the hotel is great. We also availed the service of the SJP salon, within the hotel premises which has some great professional. A must try.

It is a beautiful hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly.

The breakfast buffet was outstanding with a mix of international foods. ie something for everyone.

The restaurants were also good.

The rooms are large, comfortable, lots of pillow options.

They had electric drapes and blinds, so for a geek like me it was fun.

The hotel is closely situated to the Jio World Plaza and Convention Center.

I didn't get a chance to use the pool or spa etc.

It was our second stay at sofitel in last few years. This time, I had chance to split my stay between Sofitel and nearby competition. Sofitel stand outs better in the most. The staff is pleasant, and helping. Breakfast buffet is one of the best we had. Closely located to Jio World Center and variety of restaurants. Will definitely stay again.

(1)Bathroom Drainage Issues:
There was a serious problem with the bathroom drainage — both the shower area and the bathtub were not draining properly, causing the entire bathroom to flood.
(2) Unhelpful Staff Conduct During a Medical Emergency: A more concerning issue was the attitude of the concierge staff. I had forgotten my phone charger and was told they could not send a charger wire to the room. I therefore left my phone at the concierge desk to charge, but it wasn’t charging due to a loose USB port in their drawer. When I requested permission to take the charger wire to my room for a short while — especially since I was checking out in a couple of hours and was dealing with a medical emergency — the staff refused outright.

I found this extremely disappointing and insensitive. For a hotel of Sofitel’s standard, denying a ₹100 charging wire to a guest who has spent over ₹42,000 on the stay, particularly in a situation involving a medical urgency, reflects a complete lack of empathy and hospitality. To make matters worse, there were multiple wires available at the desk, yet they declined to help. Most premium hotels readily provide such basic assistance to guests.
(3) Room Amenities Inconsistency: no coffee machine in our room although the adjacent room did have a coffee machine
(4) On a more subjective note, I also found the hotel’s interiors and overall design to be rather unattractive.

At check in we waited almost four hours. They do not allow early check in. There is no option to early check in. Once we checked in we took shower water is all over in bathroom and slipping tiles situated. We have to ultra conscious that we will not fell down. Inside restaurants are very very expensive that no one can afford this cost. Room rent is too high even though it’s not five star hotel. They are charging room rent because of US Consulate office is walkable. Airport Shuttle is not free. Charging Rs. 3000 that is ripped off. Food and Shuttle and rent are truly disappointed. I will never recommend to anyone to stay in this hotel.

This place although still good, has lost the splendor it had in the past. In my room, I dropped something and I happened to look under a piece of furniture to find it. The area seemed like it had not been cleaned in years. The menu does not have much variety, especially after hours. This shouldn't be the case with a hotel of this caliber.

As a tourist, the location was the only downfall being far away from the things I wanted to see. That being said the rest of my stay was near perfect. There aren’t enough words to describe the hospitality every staff member displayed. The room was large and very comfortable. Pillow top bed spread had me sinking into sublime sleep. The bathroom was also large and well appointed. The hotel pool was cool and refreshing and offered poolside drinks and food. If you have business in the area this is a great option.

Room was not ready on time . We reached hotel before 1 pm but they gave one room after 03:30 pm and next room after one more hour. So, we wasted almost half day .
We were tired after travel and we can’t take proper rest and were restless . So, ultimately it spoiled our evening party at Bastians. And we returned early from party and wasted money as well

The beginning of the stay was great. The housekeeping deteriorated daily. First day we had all the amenities in our room, but daily we would be missing towels, spoons, lotion, trash take out. The room was really lovely, but housekeeping needs to check more closely daily.
The buffet was good but way too expensive. A person can not possibly eat enough food in one sitting to justify the price. The pool was just okay. Water was warm and not refreshing. Personnel are always looking for a tip, so that can be annoying too.

I typically write reviews after completing my stay, but the experience has been so great, I’m writing it now.

I came to Mumbai as a tourist for two days with my family.

Hotel and rooms: Luxurious. The rooms, especially the bathroom, are very spacious. My parents said they felt they were staying in a palace of sorts.

Food: The breakfast buffet is impeccable. I’ve stayed at many luxury hotels with a similar spread (in quantity), but none that tasted as good as Sofitel’s. The chefs need to take a bow. The best vada pav, waffles, and baked goods. Everything was delicious.

Staff/service: Also impeccable - 10/10. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The hotel had a complementary cocktail night and it was out of this world. The best drinks and appetizers.

Location: I personally love BKC. It feels very modern. The hotel felt close enough to the remainder of the city - especially west Bandra. Just fyi - I took a taxi to get here from the airport and it was reasonable at 1200 rupees.

Everything is so immaculately done here. I would definitely stay here again.

Room 933's configuration is very user unfriendly. To access the WC, I need to deal with two heavy glass doors. There are too many corners within a simple room. The work desk (glass top) is pressing against the power socket - it is impossible to use the socket. Charges are too expensive for such an old hotel, including the food - comparing with other major cities.
Plus: The service staff during breakfast are very efficient and quick.
