Sam Rayburn Lake is minutes away from our Jasper hotel, a hot spot for fishing, boating, swimming and enjoying the great outdoors. Boating is a way of life here, which is why our Jasper hotel features free boat hookups for fishermen along with free truck/RV parking.

When I checked in, I was told the credit card used for my reservation was declined. The credit card number was not my credit card. I explained that Hotels.com had already billed me. The desk agent explained that although I’ve already paid Hotels .com, they in turn will send the hotel payment using their card and that was what was declined. I had to give my credit card for payment until the declined card situation was resolved. Then two days later I was charged $45 pet fee. I had no pet! The accommodations were fine the bookkeeping/records keeping was terrible. I will not recommend Hotels.com or Best Western/Jasper to anyone.

It looked outdated on the outside and when we got inside it was clearly remodeled recently but the chair in the room was extremely stained and none of the switches had been changed out and were yellow and the bathtub spicket looked like it was about to fall out of the wall. I would give it a 5 out of 10, acceptable but not good.

The AC kept the room cool, we keep it at 76 normally, but it was so humid in the room that in the morning the painted floors were entirely wet from sweating. There’s no way they wouldn’t know this. The cleaning lady would have to mop it up. Mold/mildew was growing on the bathroom door frame. It’s probably an old motel 6. We didn’t ask for a reduced price and weren’t offered either but they were fine with us canceling the second day and moving to the Holliday Inn Suites down the road. A much better place.

A dump. Mold everywhere. Bathroom was gross. Dirty towels. Dirty floors. I couldnt sleep thinking how bad the bed must be. Not worth half the cost. What a joke for the money. I'd rather sleep in my dogs house.

Friendly staff. The room was old but modernize and clean. Looks just like the pictures. Quiet stay and I would recommend for a quick overnight stay in Jasper.

It was fine, but we likely won't stay there again. There was makeup on the bedding and the blanket smelled like perfume. Stains on the hand towels. I had to request fresh towels on the second day, and clean sheets on the third. House keeping picked up our used towels and emptied the trash that we piled up for them. On the 3rd day, i had to go get clean sheets and remake our own bed. Housekeeping announced themselves around 8am, and walked in without waiting for a response. And we were charged double for property fees.

Just for cheap sleep
No frills at all... just a place to sleep. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom less so. Toilet was clean, but there were only two worn out towels and no bath mat. The shower curtain was just long enough to touch the top of the tub, so water got everywhere. With no mat, one of the two towels was needed to throw in the floor.
