Power in room was unsafe. Lights surged on and off high and low regardles if they were on or off. Plug outlets did not work. lamps did not work, refrigerator did not work. Tv did not work. Shower area was dirty with Shampoo bottle half full (appeared to have been re used.) Had to turn off all power to keep lights from surging and navigate room with phone light. Booked 3 rooms but they gave away 1 of them and didnt tell me that until i had checked 2 in.

I want to leave a fair, but honest description of our experience. We booked online and the photos are typical of what you would expect of a motel of this type, BUT
1. NO BREAKFAST
2. NO coffeemaker in the room
3, NO furniture in the lobby; totally empty
4. NO hairdryer in room
5. The hotel is the furthest out of town
6. Had to go to office for coffee in the morning, but was given only small cups and informed no more was available
7. NO art of any kind on the walls either in the lobby or the room
8. No value for the price
9. Would recommend that you NOT book a room at this hotel
10. The hotel was almost totally empty of guests on a holiday weekend
11. NO restaurants nearby
12. Honestly, BEWARE; stay away

The room was clean and recently updated. I didn’t like the lack of hanging space for clothing or the fact that there was no iron or ironing board. It could use better pillows, as well. You can see that the property is going through a transformation, and should be good once completed.

My weekend stay here was good. The hotel has undergone a recent remodel, and it is very nice. The hotel was very clean, and the bedding was comfortable. There is still remodeling going on so be understanding of the noises you may here while they are improving the facility. Breakfast was served daily. Plenty of parking. A\C works great!!

The room was updated and very nice! The complementary breakfast was terrible. No eggs, sausage, pancakes or waffles. Juice maker was down and they were serving decaf coffee no regular. The property is going through construction but there is also a lot of garbage that could be picked up. The worst part my checkout was at 11 and they had someone running a drill upstairs at 9am. Very ignorant towards your guests.

Don’t waste you money here.

Awful! This place had a dumpster outside of our room with broken glass and trash in it due to remodeling. Hammers beating on the walls at 8am on the weekend and the pool looked like a trash bin. The room is priced at $80 a night but you’ll pay $120 after “FEES” It was not a place I’ll ever go back to. Period!

The following is the message that I sent to Management when asked about my stay:

Thank you for asking. This is our first time staying at your hotel. If it wasn't for the cancelation policy, we would have canceled based on the current conditions. I understand that you are currently remodeling your hotel. However the basic accommodations of a clear and fresh room with working hot warm versus room temperature water was not what we received. This isn't indicative of the type of accommodations that I have received from Wyndham in past stays. It would be my suggestion that you have skilled workers repairing things around the clock to get the work completed as soon as possible. In this current condition, we will never come back to visit.

Also the Front Desk personnel is not friendly in greeting of Customers when entering the property. This is not a Wyndham standard of practice.

Unfortunately, I was attacked by bedbugs...disgusting! We changed hotels, of course it was too late! My left hand, right forearm, neck and legs were chewed up pretty good. This should never happen.

I told Front Desk and the cleaning staff, the cleaning staff was shocked! Not sure why they were shocked, the rooms don't look that clean, it was room 202. Don't care if I'm in NY, LA, London or rural Texas...this is disgusting.

Super Nightmare at Super 8

First had an issue with check-in. Hotels .com had cancelled my reservation and stated unable to make a new reservation unexplained. I had called to make a change for one night instead of two. Instead the entore reservation was canceled. Being at the hotel and tired I obtained a room on my own. NO POINTS were earned. Checked into an uncleaned room. Reassigned a roomwith a very uncomfortable bed.. Exterior was trashy with construction materials. All ice machines were out of order with signes. Nothing was going right after an hour there, being exausted I went to sleep, rested and got up and checked out. I am 79 yrs old and had a upstairs room. What a nightmare.

The roof was leaking and had damaged the walls (I could hear the water dripping inside the walls), the room was freezing cold even tho I had the heater set on over 80, there was no coffeepot in the room, the screen on the lavatory faucet was so stopped up the water was barely able to run through it.

Great spot to stop in an emergency.

So needed to get a hotel as my vehicle went down in the middle of the night, not far outside of Jasper. Got on Hotels.com and saw this had good ratings and a fair price. Got a room booked and managed to uber over.

Facility is aged but is fairly well kept up, room itself is dated but cozy. Very spacious, no strange smells, stains, spots or holes any place. Lots of sitting area, recliner, queen bed, sofa, and desk area with pull out chair. Bed itself is ok, not terrible but not extremely plush. There is a small offering for breakfast, which is a plus albeit I didn't expect it so it's a pleasant surprise.

Staff was extremely friendly, very polite and made me feel very welcome and comfortable.

I didn't have any issues with sound leaking through the walls or with other guests coming and going, very low on the noise pollution side of things, even in the morning when people are generally leaving.

WiFi was fairly good; I was able to handle some work meetings and stream teleconferences with it without much issue.

Overall, I would stay here again if needed. It was around 30 dollars cheaper than other offerings in the area at the time and I needed a place to sleep off having to make an emergency stop. I would give it a solid 4 stars, great spot, could use a pinch of improvements but what's there doesn't hinder you from having a good budget friendly place to stop in the area.

I want to start with the postives- the staff here is awesome! From check in to the GM and housekeeping, other hotels could learn from them. Very polite, professional and attentive. I want to point out housekeeping most of all! They do a phenomenal job at keeping the rooms as clean as they do all things considered.

Unfortunately this review will not be as good as my last.

I stayed here for business because of the room i previously stayed in was amazing. Unfortunately, that room was not available so they put me in a regular queen room. The first room had a horrible/stale/musty odor that tool 1/2 a can of lysol to get over. Unfortunately for other reasons, i had to change rooms. The second was the same as far as odor goes but again, the Lysol worked. The bed was comfortable but the inens had holes in them that appeared to be cigarrete burn holes. Same as previous, the breakfast was continental and as i stated previously, for the rate you would expect more. As for the property, it was quiet, safe and well lit. I will have hesitancy before booking here until the have more rooms refurbished.

I was nervous due to the reviews i read beforehand but that changed. The check in went smooth and had no trouble parking near my room. The property is definitely older but maintained. I stayed in a 1 king bed room and it was nice and spacious. My 1st morning there i needed some documents printed and the staff and GM were great and helpful. For an older place, it was a nice stay. Cons- the breakfast is continental, i would think for the rate a little more would be included. The housekeeping staff was awesome, clean room every night after work. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Worst place I have seen in a LONG LONG time. Shower was broken, no way to shower. When I notified management of the shower issue, they said \"I should have notified them upon check in.\" I told them that I do not routinely inspect showers to see if they work on initial check in and obviously no one was there to help after midnight when I went to take a shower. Dirty, Unsafe, rooms below second floor taped off with caution tape as concrete looked like it was falling off. Management rude and uninterested. Hopefully corporate office will get involved because this place is a NIGHTMARE

Disappointing at Best

I opted for the three bed suite. The third bed was in a separate room with a door on it. That would have been a nice feature if the second room had an air conditioning unit. However, no a/c unit in late June in Texas was brutal. I had to leave the door open and try to siphon some a/c off of the main room. Given that the standard single a/c unit was being used for more sq ft than normal, it didn't cool down in the room until somewhere between 2-4am. The price was not worth it. The whole family was mad at Dad!

I was in a non-smokers room, but the room smelled entirely of smoke and had a musky/mold smell to it. I also recorded bugs crawling around the sink and bathroom area. I reported it to management and was told those bugs are part of East TX!
