Room was nice, the view is beautiful. The breakfast could be better. I think providing fresh pots of coffee at breakfast is not too much to ask, although, there was instant coffee available with hot water available from the water machine. Staff was great, the place was quiet.

The room was COLD, as no heat was turned on, there was dirt under the bed and in the bathtub. The beds were double beds and not queen beds as was stated. The room was missing a tissue box. On the up side the staff were friendly.

The only bane with this hotel was the shower head and tub faucet were always active when having a shower.
With getting that minor convience out of the way, it was incredible. The view was great, historical structures, exploring and the people were all fantastic. I have no issues recommending this hotel in the future.

This hotel needs several upgrades...the hotel is very dated & the beds are extremely old and in bad shape & very uncomfortable. I've stayed 2 seperate times since August 2025, the first time I waited over 30 mins for my room to be ready and it was approx 5pm when I arrived & there was no towels in the room. The second time there was no shower curtain, the remote didn't work and the staff were unsure what to do as they stated that every room had a different TV.

We stayed for 3 nights, and when we first checked in there was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom and no cups for water or coffee. The fridge didn't work, and when we mentioned it to front desk we were given instructions on how to fix it ourselves imcluding moving the unit....surely a staff member should be doing that?
No room cleaning available as we were told we were one of only two guests that weekend so they didn't schedule staff. Eventually got some housekeeping on 3rd day of stay after bringing issue to front desk.
Overall a very very poor experience for the $550 we paid for 3 nights. This is a badly run facility and I dont recommend anyone else to stay here.

We arrived around 7pm. After waiting 10min for someone to arrive at the reception area we went to our room then we had to go to the reception to ask for soap and some glasses not available in the room.
We found 2 hairs in our beds. I was too tired to complain. I won’t come back.
Also Dalhousie is very dirty and not a good place to stay. Even the Tim Horton in there was terrible.

There was a problem with the expedia application. I made a reservation for 2 rooms (4 adults). Tough the application confirmed the réservation, once in site, only 1 of the 2 rooms was confirmed.

The staff went above and behond to accomodate us and they deserve a 5 star review.

However, I am not so satisfied with the Expedia application. After investigation from the Days Inn staff, it seems that the Expedia application was faulty. So, max 2 stars for them.

ITS ABOUT SAFETY....THE BATHROOMS NEED UPDATING

we have watched the slow deterioration of this hotel over the years. prices paid for rooms is not reflected by the condition of each room we stayed in. Bathrooms in each had concerns for safety. More attention should be paid to installation of grab bars, non slip bath mats that are new, longer length and cover more of the bottom of the tub TO AVOID FALLS FROM SLIPPING! for example the towel bar inside the tub is being used as a grab bar and is being ripped off as a result And an ugly gob of silicone to mend, does not make it safe.

Staff was friendly, but the rooms need work

The front desk staff were polite and friendly. The bad review is due to the general state of the room. the mattress was old and had sunk on one side making it uncomfortable. Also found very long hair (I was alone and am short hair) on my pillows and in bed. Water doesn't drain properly in the tub, therefore water accumulates to your ankle while you shower.
In general, I'd say it is quite expensive for a not-so-good hotel. You can probably find better for the same price.

We were very late coming in and they waited up for us. It was very much appreciated. Days Inn was very quick and clean. Definitely will recommend them to anyone.

The staff was excellent but there was a hockey team staying on the same level as us and they were very noisy. Doors opening and closing chatting in the hallway. 1:30am it started. Needless to say we didn't get very much sleep. Some of the bread for breakfast was moldy. I pointed it out and it was taken care of. Don't think we'd stay there again.

Nice, clean and comfortable. Only thing i didn’t like was that there is practically no access to internet, the wifi was so slow it was unusable and my cell has no signal with Telus in the room i was in.

Horrible - Do not stay here

Brown water from the taps then bugs in the bedding. Did not stay the night here and checked out same evening.
This hotel is like it's abandoned. Room had no cups for coffee machine and no toilet paper in the room.
Front desk staff were great but no way I can stay somewhere without clean water and bedding.

Very Nice Stay

Comfortable and clean, nice stay. Restaurant Chez Rachel nearby had very good food at a reasonable price. Ice cream at the park across town (beside the laundromat) was excellent but only open April to early September.

Great place. Third time for us and not the last one. Only a loud neighbour who make a lot of noise at 5 A.M. but not the hotel's fault.

It’s dated, needs cosmetic updates! Carpet should be removed and lobby bathrooms were unavailable due to lack of housekeeping personnel. Staff were very friendly and location was very good.
