Staff was responsive to help find my lost item after checkout. Very comfy bed, 2 toilets for convenience. Nice breakfast with a fair range of choice. Cleaning staff was really nice, too.
However, the view of our room is not nice. Needs more sockets, especially near the bed. Should equip 4 of each items (cups, spoons...) for Family room. And a water dispenser, even shared one, would be more eco-friendly than bottled ones.
Not a lot of restaurants within walking distance but some convenience stores will do. Hotel also allows food delivery service.

The hotel gave us an upgraded room for a family of 3 and a connecting room with the rest of our party. Service was good overall. Breakfast didn’t have too many variety but it did change everyday. Ac in the room wasn’t as strong even at the lowest setting. Location was within walking distance to good restaurants around the area

Our shower was so dirty that I felt like I was getting dirtier getting in. Needed a thorough scrub. What didn’t help was we had a non-slip mat down on the tiles but it wasn’t moved or cleaned the entire time we were there and it looks as though it was there and not thoroughly cleaned long before we arrived.

They had no sign for guests to ask for new sheets/bedding and they weren’t changed until the day before we checked out and it was only done as specifically asked the housekeeping staff to do this.

Floors in the room are sticky (I note that I saw they were swept each day) but I think the cleaning solution they used was making the floors sticky.

At one point our aircon unit wasn’t working and we discovered this in the early hours of the morning. I called reception about it being off and rather than informing me that they could manually turn the aircon back on, they said “please wait a moment”; hung up, and didn’t call back. I called back again and the same. Then after waiting 10mins after the second call, I walked down to reception in my pyjamas to speak directly with someone. They finally said they’d have someone turn it back on for me - happened instantly.

This happened again on another day and I asked again why they kept turning off the aircon. I finally got the response that it turns off when you remove the keycard from your room, and once removed, it needs to be switched back on by a technician - Strange.

Noisy smokers in corridor every night.

We took the family room and it was spacious! Staff were amazing. Our room was well serviced daily. We stayed for 9 days. We panicked at one point when we left our safe opened one day and only to realize it in the afternoon when we were out, we came back immediately and nothing was stolen! 5 stars!

Only 1 small negative feedback: we requested to borrow 1 fork. It was chargeable at 20k even if we returned it. Why? I don’t get it.

Beware of this property! On our visit to Indonesia, we have visited, Jakarta at the Wyndham Casablanca, 4 star and worth every penny, great place. We stayed in Jogjakarta, 4 star worth every penny, great place again. Not in the best area but exceptional service and nice clean rooms. And then we flew to Bali expecting another great place to stay, it looked great in the pictures and then we arrive to a seedy dark hotel. The rooms had a fowl odor like they were trying to cover up some other smell, there was mold and soap scum in the shower area and stains on the head board from god knows what. We stayed the night and checked out 3 days early for our 4 day reservation. The staff apologized and proceeded to tell us how all the hotels in Bali are like there's, they offered a different room but I told them if they are like that, then we don't want another room. I asked them to refund our payment for the 3 days that we did not stay and they said, (that is against company policy)
So the long and the short of it is, we drove 20 minutes down the road and found a great room at the Holiday Inn Resort Tanjung Benoa, I highly recommend it, It was a great room for just a few dollars more a night. I'm from the U.S. and if your going to fly 20 hours to get somewhere, my advice is to really be careful, we bought a picture and we got burned. If you want a nice place to stay, stay away from this place.

Lovely modern hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The staff that clean the rooms are amazing, our room was alway immaculate & if we ever left the Quiet sign on the door they’d call up and ask if we would like it cleaned when we went for dinner.
Pool was nice, not massive but our kids loved it.
Even though the hotel is on a busy road it’s set back and very peaceful.
We had breakfast included in our room and although it wasn’t to our personal taste the Chef would always cook up eggs however we wanted them.
Very good value for money.
20,000 30,000 IDR taxi to Seminyak beach and restaurants.

Smaller friendly place, in a great location with restaurants everywhere. We felt very comfortable in the hotel right from the start with a warm welcome from the staff. We were in a standard room on the first floor overlooking the pool and it was great - large in size, the TV was good with lots of channel options and quiet. Maybe 20-25 minute walk to Legian St and the markets. After that having a dip in the pool was so relaxing, water always perfect temperature and we spent many hours reading and just chilling on the lounges. Overall would rate the hotel very highly, great value and we will be staying here again.

The gym is a little too small and one of the air con was not working. The pool looks great but I didn't get a chance to use it. Stayed in the suite which offers housekeeping twice a day. Lost an eyebrow pencil after one of the housekeeping session though. All is good. Check in and out was fast and easy. Polite staff. Breakfast variety is limited and almost the same food everyday. Can do better than that. Love the layout of the room. Spacious, clean and I love the room that I can sit in one corner to do my work cosily. Cushions on sofa do need some cleaning or covers to be changed. Rather smelly. Did tell reception about it but nothing is done I think.

This hotel has bargain accommodation for the quality of the hotel. Extremely clean, nice rooms, fabulous pool, great variety for breakfast and very pleasant and helpful staff. The beds were quite hard if that is an issue for you and in house spa is expensive. We found the local area didn’t have enough activity close enough such as cheap places for massages, restaurants with some music or shopping though bluebird taxis are cheap.

We got upgraded which was lovely, nice big room. The shower was the only disappointing thing, it was dark, mouldy smelling and old, there was a mould smell throughout the room. For some reason the water was slimy. The bed was amazing and pillows very comfortable. There was also an odd object on the rug, looked like animal dropping of some sort?! Staff very friendly though!

Nice hotel thats quiet, pleasant and helpful staff. However the mosquito situation makes this hotel unlivable. My friends and i did not have one night of good sleep despite having slept in early. On one night I had even gotten 30 mosquito bites on a single leg.
It is now 2 days since the trip and my legs are still sore and inflamed from the mosquito bites. Due to this reason, i would not recommend staying in this hotel until the management has this situation under control. Perhaps even using mosquito coils would help.

Nice hotel that is not too far from Kuta. The hotel staff provided amazing service and were extremely courteous. However, be aware that there may be mosquitos or biting insects in the room. Bring insect repellant if that may be an issue to you. The morning buffet breakfast is amazing, and hotel guests should not miss out on that!

It's my second time at this hotel (3 weeks this time).
I love its staff and It's what really makes this place really good.
Just a recommendation to the management... keep facilities up and ruining. Obviously things get run down with time but if they don't get fixed or replaced, the quality of your hotel will diminish.
You need a much better internet connection. It's far too slow all the time.
BTW, breakfast is simply amazing!!

Okay for the price

It was okay, a normal 3-star hotel at best.

Pros: Lots of privacy, quiet, aircon cold, showers are hot.

Cons: hair dryer weak and doesn’t have hot air, towels are stained, shower drainage is terrible, Swimming pool undergoing reno, breakfast spread was so-so. Pictures look better than actual.

But I guess you get what you paid for.

Every meal that I ordered I was not receiving the correct change. Every time I would bring it to the staffs attention they would not speak English. Short changed every meal. Breakfast is not included and the spa is over priced at $100 a massage. Its true that you get what you pay for.

lacked a lot of customer service. We had to go to the bar every time we wanted a drink when we were in the pool.
for a young persons getaway its not ideal
maybe for a family holiday away from the main area of Kuta and Legian.

Not a 4 star hotel. More like a good 3 star hotel.

Check in was fine.Yhe front desk staff were lovely and helpful. However, the room was below our expectations of a 4 star hotel: tile floors instead of carpet, not much space to lounge unless sitting on the bed and no mini bar (only a small bar fridge that hardly cooled our drinks). At the buffet breakfast there was a separate crepe and pancake station. They had only trainee chefs the whole time we were there (10 days) and they did not know how to cook crepes because they were consistently undercooked. My partner and I resorted to waiting after our order to tell them to flip the crepe and cook it longer. They also run out of nutella(popular with the crepes and pancake orders) on our first day, and did not bother to replenish their stock by the next day at breakfast, as we were told \"no nutella\". This place is in Legian, very central and close to many shops, so it baffles me that they did not buy more nutella. They require you to put down a deposit of 1,000,000 rupiah at check-in if you want to charge items to your room during your stay. Apart from staff at the front desk, it was extremely difficult communicating with all other staff. The restaurant served sub-par food that was always cold, or at best, luke-warm. One time we ordered the \"assorted bruschetta\" for room service and received the classic bruschetta which costs less. I tried explaining to them we received the wrong dish, but the restaurant staff simply could not understand what I was saying.Will not be staying again

Fontana Hotel exceeded all of our expectations - clean room, wonderful staff, decent breakfast. To be frank, we preferred this hotel over other more upscale hotels that we had stayed on our previous visit to Bali. All employees should be praised for their professionalism. From reception staff to cleaning staff and the restaurant staff, everyone was very welcoming, friendly, and willing to help with whatever they can to improve our stay. A world class service!

I love the fontana hotel, I have stayed there four times now in the last twelve months of 2017. The hotel is clean and quiet eventhough it is close to busy road with great places to eat and buy what you need. It has a nice ambience wether relaxing around the pool, in the restaurant or having a drink at the bar. Staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful.

Disappointing, wouldn't stay here again.

Ok, so recently stayed (Sep 17) and have listed the pros and cons.

In short, average hotel, poor location on a busy road, poolside area too small and constantly in the shade, breakfast disappointing, staff were friendly and polite.

Pros: Fantastic, polite and friendly staff. Comfortable bed and generally clean.

Cons: location on a busy road meaning taxis everywhere and not able to go for a nice walk nearby. Breakfast is bad, flies all over the open display pastries, coffee like water and terrible (had to order separate coffee every day), no soya milk - had to request it for the next day, breakfast not great for vegans. The pool is terrible, it's pretty much always in the shape and only 2x sun loungers that offer all day sun - which are often taken. This was a bad design/layout. Finally the bathroom was tired and dirty (tile mould etc.) and had a smell from the drains in the room meaning you have to keep flushing the toilet.

The walls in the hotel are paper and you can hear everything! I mean everything from people walking down the corridor, other guests TV and conversations and also other couples being intimidate / they need better sound proofing.

I needed a one-night stay near the airport to relax before another adventure. This was a good choice and good value just for this. I would gladly return if just for a short stay in that area. Otherwise, I prefer a location away from the hussle and motors.

This used to be my favorite hotel in Bali. Things have changed a lot. The wifi is no longer good. The hotel mgmt lets budget travellers from France block off all the chairs at the pool while they go shopping all day. Smoking is permitted everywhere including the common areas and restaurants. The security is non-existant. Not a safe place to stay.

Fine, but underwhelming

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights, it was fine overall, clean and comfortable, but underwhelming in many other aspects.

Pros:
- Comfortable and clean bed with blackout curtains
- good water pressure from shower
- friendly staff
- 10-15 mins walk from the beach (I think the hotel actually provide a shuttle but we didn't need to use it)

- breakfast variety was average and stone cold every morning
- on arrival and after waiting to check in, nobody showed us to our room, we were just given the key and left to it with all our luggage
- pool has limited beds, and gets very little time in the sun each day (no good for sunbathing if that's what you like)
- wifi is very slow
- our bathroom was quite worn (limescale etc on the walls)
- onsite restaurant food is very average

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING

This hotel is very far from anything! We love to walk but the streets you had to walk through just to get anywhere near the usual hive of Bali were not the safest even in the morning.
Our hotel room had a very musky/moldey smell to it and the toilette didn't flush too well. Easily the worst breakfast I've ever had in Bali; cold pancakes (don't ask for fruit on them.. usually doesn't taste the best), having to wait 10 minutes for eggs when there's only 2 people in line, and very very little variety. Everything looks 10x bigger in the photos. The pool area was small, 8 chairs that surround the area with a tiny hut near in which you supposedly can order drinks and food, however no one can understand you so if you find a menu anywhere just point instead. by noon all chairs are taken and even if there is one available, expect there to be scrunched up used towels on it and empty drinks. Also, if you are a non smoker... don't stay here. Everyone around the pool especially had constant cigarettes being lit all day.
We left this place 3 days earlier than expected and lost money, but the leave was worth loosing money for.

Average Hotel

My wife and I used that hotel for sleeping and refreshing only by 9 nights. We traveled around Bali most a time which we spent on our holidays. That hotel is not brand new that's why you can find a lot issue. If you are looking for luxury don't take this hotel. It's good because is very close air port and Legian beach just 15 - 20 minutes by walk. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They react on any complaints very fast. In my situation they lost my reservation and my room wasn't ready when I've arrived . They found new hotel for us for one night and prepared room for next day. Our room was a delux with balcony and swimming pool view. A staff clean our room daily with average effect but it was enough good for us. Sometimes they missed change a towels or bathrobe.

Very comfortable room and cosy feeling

I stayed here for 3 nights the room has high quality bedding and pillows with drapes to make room dark. Air-conditioning cable TV with Australia plus channel in room safe and 2 bottles of free water per day. I really enjoyed my stay here I was surprised that there's no power outlets near bed to charge your phone by your bedside and it is a little out the way from the hustle of the main tourist area but a grab bike to sky garden cost 5,000 RP about 50 cents Australian.

Nice hotel to stay in Bali

This hotel is good. I would recommend this hotel to other guest who have plan to stay in Bali either for family, business or solo. My note is for the breakfast. When there's high season / full load, the restaurant attendants are too busy. This hotel need to add additional attendants for high season for sure.

staff always smiling and eager to help. room spacious, quiet, big memory foam bed, large walk in shower, very clean and comfortable. could do with some extra cupboard space though. Pool quiet and in the shade so ideal for cooling after a quick sunbed bake. food really varied and good, breakfast has multiple choice, Indonesian curry and rice, bacon, sausage and eggs, fruit, pancakes, crepes, toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. Coffee shop with pastries, nice bar, good food at night. Outside there are numerous restaurants nearby, turn left for ATM and money exchange - 2-3 minutes. Beach 15 mins away - free drop off and pick up service from hotel, but £2 - £3 in taxi anyway if you miss the bus. never tried the gym or spa but looked good in the photos.

Friendly and accommodating staff, close to great restaurants and the beach. Has a complimentary shuttle to Double 6 & Beachwalk. Great eating places all around.

Nice modern look to hotel, friendly staff. To be honest the staff made the hotel experience a more pleasurable stay as they were very warm and welcoming everyday we stayed there.
