Breakfast was denied, it owner managed property, owner was very mean old man. Makes fuss on small things like closing door, bringing food from outside, and talking on loung / sitting area. Gave me very hard time, he is the meanest I have ever met.

Recommended hotel in the heart of Ioannina

We were greeted at reception by the very helpful Angela who took us personally to their free secure underground parking next door. We had a very comfortable spacious room and substantial breakfast. We loved the warmth of this family owned hotel in the heart of beautiful Ioannina.

Overall good experience

Our room had no balcony, even though in the pictures it seems this room category should have had a balcony. However, it didn’t bother us too much, since we only booked for two nights. The room was clean, well kept and bathroom recently refurbished. The personnel was very nice and promptly helped us with all of our queries. If we will ever travel again to Ioannina we will definitely re-book again at this hotel.

While the hotel was nice, when we checked out of the room, we were told we need to pay the price, even though we had already paid via credit card on the Expedia site, right when we booked the room. Then the hotel owner started yelling at us, and saying he wants to be paid, and that he has no affiliations with trivago or Expedia, even though his hotel is advertised there. He was rude, insulting, and treated us like we were trying to scam him. He would not accept any form of proof of payment, neither from the Expedia site and emails I received, nor from my credit card provider who had records of the transaction. He kept yelling this is not his bank account, and ultimately we were threatened to pay in cash for a second time. Horrible experience.

Good hotel location but unfriendly staff attitude

The location of the hotel was good. The room was clean. The receptionist staff weren't friendly. As we weren't at the room to check out at 12:00 as we were at the hospital and arrived at the hotel at 12:30, we found our luggages at the reception area without being informed.

The hotel is centrally located and comfortable with free parking, all at a reasonable price. The staff, however, seemed disorganised and at times disinterested - they struggled to locate my booking and room key at check-in, and the reception desk was left unmanned frequently. This posed an inconvenience at times, but the hotel was otherwise pleasant.

Located in the central part of the city and easy walk to the castle. The only good thing ended there. While we were visiting, the whole town was out of water for entire day into the next day. The staff failed to mention this prior to our visit - since it was a town-wide water shortage, they would've known about this ahead of time - and did not provide any update during our visit so we had no idea when the water would be available. They didn't provide any water bottles for us to use or drink. We absolutely hated our stay due to their lack of communication and attentiveness. Would not recommend staying here.

Great Location near the Castle and Lake

Friendly concierge welcomed us and despite our minimal Greek and his limited English we managed to organise parking and our room. Underground hotel parking was very secure. Room was very comfortable. Beds and pillows were firm. The breakfast was an amazing array of Greek specialties served at your table by the friendly staff. Breakfast was included in the room rate. The location was great if you would like to explore the lake and the old castle (fortress) Would certainly recommend this as a very pleasant hotel.

Outside of castle walls but still convenient

I spent two nights in Ioannina total, 1 night outside the castle walls at Kentrikon, and one night inside. Outside the walls there is more hubbub and nightlife, but everywhere I wanted to go was within a 15 minute walk, regardless of where I stayed. The Archaeological museum is a couple blocks from Kentrikon and there are stores upon stores for shopping. Lots of cafes, too.

Unwelcome stay in a beautiful hotel

Firstly, this hotel is in a beautiful old ottoman house and the room we got was very big and nicely decorated. However, when we arrived we were made to feel as though we shouldn't have been their and felt very unwelcome. None of the staff members smiled at all throughout the duration of the stay. Overall I found it to be a real shame as the place was beautiful and the location was awesome but the staff really let the place down big time.

Very unprofessional & rude manager/receptionist.

Very rude front desk manager/receptionist. Upon my arrival I was informed that my room was given to another guest cause I arrived late. As a result I had to share a room with other customers. The next day the manager was insisting to pay the whole amount because he had to cover expedia's commission. He also refused to take credit card so the bank doesn't charge him commission fees. When a passing customer said \"good morning\" he replied back saying \"what's so good in this morning\"!

Strange breakfast, bad attitude from the owner

We stayed in this hotel at the end of August 2021.
Centrally located hotel which is clean and nice.
Not a breakfast buffet, but you sit down and an elderly lady, probably the owner's wife, comes in with some pieces of bread and some other strange stuff. She was very nice even though the breakfast was strange.
On the other hand, one of the staff, an elderly man, the owner we believe, was really awkward and rude though. He probably has never smiled in his life and the words \"please\" and \"thank you\" don't exist in his vocabulary.
But then again, the front desk girl that looks like Audrey Hepburn was extremely nice and service-minded. She herself contributes largely to the not so bad rating that we give the hotel. If the owner would be as service-minded as her, we'd give this hotel top rating. But because of the owner's behavior, we will not return to the hotel.

good value for money stay

clean, renovated space, a little noisy if you stay at the first level, near reception. Breakfast continental, not extraordinary, but average. Heating: need to open the central heating, not only air condition. good wifi, good tv. central location at a pedestrian downtown. No view from windows.
