We booked this hotel in very short order and were not disappointed. Once inside the gate it is an oasis of greenery and calm. It's quite a transition from wide open non-descript street to find yourself parking by huge rubber plants and beautiful established gardens. The house is incredible and super comfortable - our room was perfect and very big!

Nice comfortable one night stay in the heart of Port Elizabeth. Well located in central Walmer close to the best coffee shops and dining options.
Service and welcome was fantastic and service throughout exceptionally good from all staff members.
Feel the furnishings are dated and need some upgrading, appreciate that the style is Victorian however I feel that some of the general areas need upgrading.

A lovely reminder of home. This cosy country house was the perfect stay in Port Elizabeth. Beautiful decor, excellent service and delicious food. Also enjoyed a game of tennis and sitting by the pool with a book and glass of wine. Nothing too much trouble and appreciated the little touches such as a packed breakfast before we went out on a trip.

Arriving at the electric wooden car gate you wouldn't have a clue what is behind it. As the door opens you are greeted with a park like setting .... beautiful. The rooms are quite large and a gorgoues Victorian tub awaits you in a well appointed bathroom. We normally put our bags down and head out to explore the town (we only had one night here) but this place was so inviting we just stayed on the property. All staff offered fabulous service- happy, kind and attentive. We had one of our best dinners here. our waiter was fantastic and the food was spectacular- no rush to go anywhere. The breakfast I would also say was 5 stars. lots of yummy choices which was a surprise in a small establishment.

It may be the most expensive property in PE but it is worth every cent! Most notable is their 5 star service. Tiffany was a great hostess who's concern and care for her guests was so nurturing. Don't miss their tasting menu which was THE best value for the quality that I have experienced anywhere in the world.

Unfortunately, we requested a referral for a hotel the next night in Mossel Bay, but instead were provided reservations for us at a hotel nearer to Cape Town - some 300 km further. We did not realize the problem until arrival in Mossel Bay where we were forced to hunt for lodging.

This hotel is sheer luxury. Huge rooms - huge bathroom, large enough for a sofa as well as a free standing bath and huge wardrobe. Lovely old furniture tastefully chosen and updated gives the hotel the feel of an English country house. And the food is truly amazing. The best risotto I can remember! And free wi-fi too.

Dans un quartier coquet mais un peu excentré, cette pension discrète offre de très belles et immenses chambres avec de somptueuses salles de bains. Petit bémol, nous sommes restés un bon moment en rade au portail d'entrée, l'interphone ne fonctionnant pas. De l'eau et du sherry ainsi que des fruits secs avaient aimablement été disposés dans les chambres. Nous avons très bien mangé au restaurant de l'hôtel, qui est ouvert à tous. Excellent petit déjeuner et cadre fantastique.

Sobald sich das Hoftor geschlossen hat ist man in einer kleinen Zeitreise in koloniale Zeiten. Ein ruhiger Garten und sehr freundliches fast schon übereifriges Personal ist stets um einen bemüht. Die Zimmer sind nun ja \"kolonial\" eingerichtet aber doch recht stimmig und vor allem gross mit fast schon überdimensionierten Badeszimmern, grossen Betten und jeweils kleiner Veranda. Dem alten Haus geschuldet ist eine gewisse Ringhörigkeit, die aber nicht weiter stört. Instalationen sind ein wenig \"afrikanisch\" es mag mal da und dort klappern aber das mit Charme. Wir hatten eine entspannte Nacht vor dem Rückflug und können die Unterkunft gut weiterempfehlen.
