Excellent hotel and facilities. The taxi situation was not comfortable at all and rather off-putting. Hotel staff on the whole super super kind and solutions focused. Yet yesterday, I was told to \"tranquilo\" by a staff member by the pool which I was shocked by. Other than that the rooms were clean, big and comfortable yet the lights were not working easily and the Air Conditioning Unit is not as user friendly. The food options by the pool could use some work - as it took to long to order, and was never approached once by a waiter or hotel staff.

Staff amazing, great local knowledge. Warm indoor pool but a shame it was only open to kids from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm although it was lovely that during the quiet season (we travelled in Dec), the lovely staff allowed some flexibility on this.

Very nice stay. The facilities were very nice, room is \"classic\" style but in very good condition. We did get one of the \"renovated\" rooms so can't tell about the condition of all rooms. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Service and variety at breakfast buffet was good. Location is quiet and about a 10 mins drive from city center.

Good location great views over Palma. Pool good size lots of sun loungers. 10 minute taxi ride to centre of Palma. Good security at the hotel. Close to several golf one of which surrounds the hotel. Tennis courts within walking distance (at Son Vida golf club house). Food good wine excellent and staff exceptionally friendly and efficient.

Wonderful Resort Hotel

A truly marvelous hotel with excellent staff and service, a wonderful hotel with spectacular views of Palma and the bay. The pool, spa and fitness amenities are excellent. The only downside I would note is that the main dining room dinner menu was distinctly average, in contrast with the rest of the hotel.

Amazing hotel - a true 5* luxury stay

The hotel ticked every box prior to arrival and it did not disappoint us at all. From arriving to leaving we were made to feel like the most important guests they had staying there. Nothing was too much trouble and on occasion we found they had the answer even before the question was asked. The rooms are spacious with every luxury item you could want. All 6 of us in our group commented on how well we slept in beds that you can lose your partner in. We used every facility. Golf, spa, pools, restaurant and bars. The staff are always on hand with a smile and a helpful manner. Matthew, especially who welcomes you and is always on hand in Reception for whatever you need made you feel like you were coming home every time you walked back in.

Traditional charm and great views

The hotel is quite old-school and you have a sense they are only just now catching up with the times (eg updating the indoor spa) and unfortunately there are new villas being built at the front, which does affect those rooms that face in that direction. Having said that it is a beautiful place, with fantastic views of Palma and the bay from the pool area/bar and above all, the staff are absolutely fantastic.

Was not informed about significant building works going on during our stay. Tried to charge us to move rooms when the first one we were given was right next to said building site. Lovely view of workmen and diggers! Pool bar and one of the pools out of action as with the spa, gym etc. Then charged us again for the room when we'd already paid. Was meant to be a laid back break, but was accompanied by the delightful sounds of banging and drilling every single day! Really poor.

Excellent location situated in the hills above Mallorca. Amazing terrace overlooking the bay.
Pool quite small for amount of people but they are in an expansion programme.
It does need to address the lack of refreshments around the pool area as to have lunch you have to go to the restaurant which is not very practical when wet.

Building going on at the hotel and right next to it. Both being commissioned by the Hotel. Check in star tried to say it was nothing to do with them and that expedia's website and theirs says building works are happening. Neither websites do and when I went to show them they ignored me. Room we first had was a balcony view of the building site and crane! They offered to change us for an additional €375! Negotiated this down to €240.....but should not have had to pay anything. poor class Son Vida and I'll never stay there again or book through expedia. btw no one ever reacts to these comments anyway. Son Vida can't even be bothered to ask for feedback, says it all!

Best bathroom ever!

very classy-if 14th Century paintings are your thing--and the odd suit of armour- oh and GOLF-
Exceptionally comfortable beds -the first bathroom I've ever actually coveted-French brass fittings
-nice pool/s (indoor and out) -restaurant expensive if compared to Palma prices (20 minutes by bus -every 1/2 hour out -on the hour back) breakfast buffet excellent.

Nice touch in room --a special drawer that housed a collection of glasses -so appropriate one for whiskey/Cava/wine could be used.

Magnificent hotel with class and historic beauty

The hotel was beautiful and the staff very accommodating . The view to Palma and the ocean were magnificent and the historic elegance and charm of the hotel was enchanting . The concierge staff was friendly but not as helpful and knowledge in giving directions to certain attractions or giving advice on how to obtain tickets or the best time to go to certain places . But overall wevwould come back and tell friends to go to this charming hotel

Beautiful hotel, great location

The hotel is splendid, but there are a few aspects that would improve it/maintain 5 star rating.
1- controlling unruly children around the adult pool- there is childrens' pool that should be utilised.
2- gym was disappointing- the range if apparatus was poor
3- condition of tennis courts was poorer than you would expect
4- the staff varied- some were exception and others were far less so.
5- the restaurant was superb as was breakfast.

Great Hotel, Great Golf

Hotel is excellent and is surrounded by 3 golf courses. Rooms are good, hotel is spotless, staff especially the concierge, reception and Amas bar are excellent.

The pool bar is a bit hit and miss. On three occasions our order was forgotten and we were left waiting for over 50 mins before receiving our starter. Hence we reverted to Bar Amas where the service was excellent.

Great hotel. 3 golf courses surrounding hotel. Nothing close by but taxi into town is approx 15 euros .

Non smokers could find it irritating as smokers are allowed to smoke at restaurant tables. Whilst eating lunch smokers sat on next table. We had to move.

Stunning hotel renovation. Beautifully presented with large open areas, stunning paintings and interiors. The staff are highly professional and helpful. For a get away from it all break it is perfect. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a private terrace area. The only one slight issue was the electrics. Not serious or dangerous but we had to fault report 5 problems over our 6 night stay. Diverse range of guests - not just a golfing hotel. Majority of guests were there for rest and relaxation which the hotel delivered emphatically on.

Very comfortable, traditional hotel with great location and understated grandeur .Lovely relaxed calm atmosphere . Tremendous views over the city from wonderful extensive terrace . Also v convenient for local golf courses . Brilliant , friendly staff . V responsive room service ( drinks within 5 minutes ) .
Great buffet breakfast up to 11.00am and good menu choice - dinners are a little expensive c.100 euro pp but v good quality . Wine list is long and expensive too.
Free parking is v extensive and convenient .
Pool area is great for relaxing and there are enough loungers, parasols and towels for everyone - water is v clear and unchlorinated . Free Wifi works all over incl by the pool
Gym is small but well kitted out .
One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in .

Relaxing, quiet hotel with considerate staff

The staff make this hotel - so friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the absence of music in public areas and around the pool. The food was superb too. The only fault we found was the cleanliness of corridors, the same odd peanut or leaf was left on the carpet for the duration of our ten day stay. We couldn't understand this as our room was so clean.

We have been to this hotel on a number of occasions but felt disappointed this time and it will be a while before we return.
Although some old staff were as usual helpful and courteous there were some who didn't have a smile and made us feel we were an inconvenience.
Our room had air conditioning issues resulting in water coming through the ceiling we were offered another room but we had adjoining rooms and 2 nights left the upheaval seemed too much.
Everywhere felt a little sad which for the height of the season shouldn't be the case.

Early august stay for three with a 3 year old boy

The hotel was excellent and what you would expect for a five star rating. The room (the most basic one of the range) was spacious with a separate seating area with a large picture window overlooking the court yard garden. You didn’t get coffee and tea making facilities in this room type so we took a travel kettle. The room type was ideal as we didn’t want anything dangerous, i.e. a balcony, for our 3 year old. We arrived Saturday evening and the fish themed buffet was excellent – and the views of Palma are excellent. The breakfasts were also enjoyable to (if a little hectic later on – but that was not their fault – go early you have the run of the place). We did arrive the busiest and hottest weekend of the year so there was a little competition for places round the pool but normally during the week there were more than enough spaces during the day. The pool bar menu was a little mixed with some excellent Spanish dishes but some of the pasta’s, burgers etc. where a bit basic. It was a quick taxi ride into Palma (11 to 13 Euro for three). The staff where always friendly and concierges were excellent and helping with many things and playing with our child. Some of the guests were quite rude to the staff but they took it with good grace.

We had a wonderful 10 nights here. Beautiful Hotel, wonderful staff ( nothing was too much trouble always friendly and respectful) fantastic food, breakfast served till 11. English tv( bbc 1&2 itv 2,3&4) . Comfy sun beds with plenty available when we were there, as many towels as you need . Couldn't fault anything .

Really lovely hotel, very classy and the staff are wonderful. Luxurious but made to feel at home, nothing was too much to ask. I can highly recommend the concierge for any questions. We had a complimentary upgrade which was really appreciated. The rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely so one not to miss. The hotel is out of Palma, but only a twelve euro cost each way per taxi.

From the moment we arrived the staff did all they could to make our week long stay memorable. They were always friendly and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel is very nice - short ride into Palma , a couple of minutes away from three golf courses. The terrace has beautiful views over the bay. We had a really relaxing and enjoyable week and would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying there.

We had a standard bed room--its would have been better for us to pay for one with the great view of Palma. Our room needed a dressing table or at least a mirror for my wife--Also I defy even the fittest to get out of the eccentric bath shape with any ease! Drinks in bar were very expensive.

A quality hotel property marketed as Luxury, but dissapointed by absence of managers and quality of restaurant staff who although pleasant required much more training to qualify themselves for an international luxury setting. If you are not fussy about paying top prices for mediocre service then you will not be disappointed. How hotels are rated sometimes makes me wonder. Help with free internet connections 10 out of 10.

Beautiful hotel but utterly souless

We have often looked at this hotel for a stay in or near Palma but have been very disappointed on this occasion. The hotel is itself very lovely and the room excellent. Throughout our stay we found no information about the restaurants with no menus or prices posted, we chose therefore not to eat at the hotel other than breakfast which was good though we have had better in Palma.

The pool was cold and the indoor pool out of action, again no information, staff around the pool were not very attentive, a complaint I heard several times, the same can be said at times for the breakfast staff.

There didn't appear to be much in the way of grounds other than the gold course. The hotel appeared to specialise in golf but at know time were we asked if we played or offered an opportunity to play.

Son Vida is a wonderful hotel for a quick break away from it all. Being only 20 minutes from the airport and just over 2 hours flying time from Manchester it is easy to get to and has wonderful views overlooking Palma and the sea. Our room was a deluxe room with fantastic views and provided all we needed.
The hotel facilities are very good and would suit anyone doing business in Majorca, anyone with children due to the discreet but very accessible kids club, right next to the pool area, anyone who enjoys golf or anyone like us just wanting a complete break for a few days.
The restaurants - two in the evening and a third open for lunches - were all very good with excellent food. The staff everywhere were very attentive and made you feel welcome.
We would certainly go back if we needed another short break to recharge the batteries.

Excellent five star hotel, but go out for dinner!

Terrific hotel, expensive but worth the money. Just ten minutes taxi ride from the centre of Palma, but very quiet. Great views over the city from a stunning terrace, especially at night. Good outdoor pools (3 - one dedicated to children) and other facilities - gym, indoor pool, excellent beauty treatments. Reception, etc., in a very atmospheric part buiilding, most rooms in a modern extension. Like most American owned high class hotels, very well equipped room, but not at all Spanish - you could have been anywhere in the world until you looked out of the window! Housekeeping was excellent - prompt and thorough. Breakfasts magnificent - every possible choice and outstanding quality. Only dinner was disappointing - overpriced, average quality, lax service. We used the local restaurants in Palma and had much better food for half the price. Take a reliable guidebook though -you'll need it to seek out some of the best places to eat. Overall, I would happily recommend this hotel.
