Gorgeous place! Loved the grounds set up and greenery. The food in the main buffet area was delicious and the beach is so nice. The only downside was the amount of walking necessary to get to and from the parking lot, beach, and where our building was located. Otherwise, this was an amazing stay and we wish we had booked a longer trip!

Lovely and peaceful resort with friendly and attentive staff. The food is excellent and the surroundings are beautiful. It is worth exploring the area outside the resort too as there are a few interesting shops and restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk.

For non-Japanese speakers, please have patience as most of the staff have limited/no English so planning is needed when arranging restaurant reservations or booking trips. Also note that some trips appear to only accept Japanese speaking guests. In our case we just got the route maps from the village tourist office and worked our own way around Yanbaru forest.

Overall, it was well worth the visit.

We got a room in the grand cottage section (room 191). It was spacious, well clean and very comfortable. It looked like new. The park where the cottages and rooms are, is beautiful and the beach is nice too.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
The hotel have different restaurant options that we enjoyed a lot. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with a lot of varieties, the best we got of our 2 weeks trip in Japan.
We loved the location in the north, in the Yanbaru national park, with access to trails and more remote places with less tourists and less people. But, because it is farther north, it’s better to have a car. I can’t imagine if we didn’t have one.
Overall, very nice hotel.

An amazing respite from the busy dizzy world. Truly a RESORT. Phenomenal beaches and most comfortable spacious accommodation with multiple restaurant options. Its remoteness is an asset if wanting a retreat . Unfortunately the prices are on the high side. If wanting to explore, a car is a necessity. A negative is the 11 a.m. check out AND THE HOURLY OVER CHARGES .

The property is nice but the rooms could be cleaner. The bathroom has an awful sewer smell all the time and ants and some other sort of bug that goes after wet towels. The pool has mold, the Paddle Board and rental area closes while the staff stands around until 2:00. They lost my rental of a paddle board because I would have to wait and hour and a half. The staff is amazing but very few speak english and are not able to understand the translation app translation. It was a very nice and relaxing time however and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Okuma staff you are outstanding!

Okuma Beach Resort was a nice place to relax and unwind while on our trip around Japan. Pools, spas, sauna, a private beach were all utilised by us. Our room was spacious (over two levels), and had a lovely beachy feel to it. Laundry facilities were close by and appreciated. The breakfast was included and was generous buffet style. We only ate dinner at one of the restaurants one night as we found the price quite expensive. There is a family mart nearby which had lots of cheaper good options for meals.

It was so much fun for my mom and I to stay there. The food was delicious for both dinner and breakfast. The sauna there was really relaxing and free for guests. They had so many fun activities that could be done but make sure you schedule them at least the day before. The beach was also a really nice temperature even in late October.

It was remote and far from the airport, however, they had free shuttle from two of the hotels in Naha so it was very convenient. Breakfast buffet was great and there were so many different kinds of food. Just be careful not over eat:) We are glad that we went al the way to north to see the wild nature of the Okinawa Island. Naha was a huge city so just a day was enough for us and it was nice to be able to relax at this very nice resort. It is not super fancy, etc. but it was enough for us

The beach was beautiful, most staff very friendly. Food was mostly good, limited dietary restriction options. No room upgrade despite availability (we think) but we were happy with our room. We would have loved transport in the evening. We were supposed to drive but then ended up having to take a taxi and pay USD $200; and the shuttle back to the airport was free which we REALLY appreciated as a service, but only ran 1x per day at 9AM. Overall, we were pleased.

If you’re looking for nature’s healing, this is the place for you! Surrounded by the Yambaru National park and white sand beach.. it was the perfect place for our stay. There’s lots of things to do but if you need to work, the wifi wasn’t very good, but other than that, no complaints! The view on the sunset from the private beach is to die for!!

The staff members were so nice and welcoming to us throughout our stay. My only negative comment is that our room was not clean upon checkin and the second room also needed a good deep cleaning. This is a beautiful resort but housekeeping needs to do a much better job inspecting the rooms before people check in.
For many years I drove by this resort and dreamed about staying there but it was very disappointing to find a dirty cloth inside the sofa. We opted to pay an additional $280 to change rooms and move to a different part of the resort in the hopes that it would be more sanitary.
The staff at valet, the staff at the front desk and the bellman staff are fantastic though.
During this time of Covid-19, cleanliness is very important and I hope that housekeeping will improve the cleaning process for these rooms.

A great resort but not for childless guests

This is a very nice resort. I would say it is a very family friendly resort. Not for couples because there are so many small children.

The pros: The beach is not crowded, free shuttle from Naha to the resort, good restaurants, on campus shops, and friendly service. The spa is worth the money! Great experience! The staff speak pretty good English and are helpful.

The cons: we stayed on the bottom floor of a main deluxe, under a family. We could hear their baby crying and kid running around. The beach is rough so I highly suggest wearing water shoes. These are my only cons. The hotel should have rooms dedicated to childless guests because the walls are thin.

Very clean. Very classy and traditional Japanese style and service. No crowds, nice wide open beach and numerous chairs. Outstanding breakfast buffet included.

Not many facilities attractions in “resort” cost other than beach and pools. No gym, no complimentary watercraft. Sure there is one hour late checkout available - for 4000 yen, even though there was surely availability on workday following weekend.

My stay was good. I really enjoyed their beach and breakfast. A few things made this stay a little disappointed were they take ¥500 for parking per night, they took us to a room where right front of construction that was making loud noise- we called front desk for changing room and they took us to different area that was nice, and no business center. We needed to printed out few stuff but we needed to drive to FamilyMart to do so.

I liked they had umbrellas everywhere for guests to use.

The checkin process was easy. The staff were friendly and took us to our room in a golf cart. The room had 4 twin beds. The beds were firm but comfortable. The reservation came with breakfast included. The food was quite good for western and eastern palettes. My kids enjoyed the made to order Musubi and other interesting dishes. Bacon & eggs and many other well prepared dishes were avail able. The pools and beach were nice. I didn’t have a chance to try the sauna/bath house but it looked good from the outside.

Ideal Holiday Resort!

Everything you need on one complex! Several restaurants to choose for a range of budgets and tastes. Lots to choose from for breakfast. Staff are really helpful and friendly! Right next to the beach. Rooms extremely spacious with everything you need. Only downside was that I wasn’t comfortable using the onsite spa due to it following traditional Japanese customs in that men and and women were separated so I couldn’t enjoy this with my partner and the only option available was one which didn’t allow any form of swimwear. Beautiful location with lots to do in the area!

We stayed three nights in a Palm Cottage with our 18 month old. We loved the hotel, it’s amenities and being right on the beach. Food was four stars and bfast was worth it There is not much (if anything) around the hotel so once you are there you are there. We did day trips each day which were about an hour drive from the resort.

I’m sure it was unavoidable, but the bathroom shower had a lot of mold around it. Also, not a lot of room for trash. Other than that we had the time of our lives and would highly recommend the resort. The spa and staff were excellent. Even the lifeguards were genuinely nice and helpful!

The hotel and the room were on the good location. But the condition was not so good, too old. Additionally, there was no bottles of water and no drinks in the room. We should purchace them outside before we got back to the room. It mas much inconvinient because it was far from the each room to the shops.

Best resort in Okuma Beach!

Decided to visit Okuma Beach while in Okinawa. Yes this hotel's location is a far from the hotel (about 2 hours), but it was worth it. Had to rent a car to get to the hotel but they have buses. The hotel's exterior design is very nice. Felt like a real apartment home. Lots of things to do. Restaurants are limited and could be pricey except for the cafe shop on the beach. Also there's a hiking trail to Hiji Waterfall, just a 5 minute drive from the hotel to the hiking entrance followed by a 40 minute hike.

THE PROS:
-about a 5 minute walk from the beautiful beach
-they have shuttles to take you around
-lots of activities like biking and water activities at the beach
-corona beer at the cafe shop and bring to the beach!
-resort feels like a home!
-beautiful remote location away from crowds

THE CONS:
-parking lot to the hotel room is very far. Could be a 10 minute walk. They have go-carts to take you around
-limited restaurant selections, could be expensive
-2 hours away from Naha airport. Rent a car is the best or take a bus
-hotel staff/restaurant staff are VERY LIMITED in English. Try using google translate on your mobile phone to show them.
