Awesome Hotel!

This is a very pretty hotel in a charming town. Make sure you get the water facing room with Balcony. Absolutely breathtaking views!

But the most awesome part of this Hotel is : THE STAFF. I booked an ordinary room because it was cheaper, but when I walked in and saw the views I was missing, I asked if I could be upgraded to a room with the views and they moved me without charging anything.

My wife left her Apple watch in the room after we checked out. The hotel didn't only email me that they found the Watch during room cleaning, but they literally shipped it to the United States WITHOUT CHARGING ME A DIME!! Just think about that!! I was willing to pay whatever it took them to ship the watch, but they didn't charge me anything!! Special Thanks to Ivan Lucic. You are a gentleman Sir!

If you are passing by the area and looking to stay the night, do not think twice and book this gem of a place. Would stay here in a heartbeat if I am in the area again!

The staff were very polite, especially in reception and the breakfast chef was very accommodating. The hotel has amazing views, but the interior and exterior need an urgent upgrade. The room had an odd odour, which was very unpleasant. It smelt like cheap perfume or toilet cleaner. I found it hard to sleep because of this.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel in Grodås. It was a quiet overnight stay in a very beautiful setting. The rooms are clean, the breakfast was very good and had a generous amount of food. We were able to charge our car across the street behind the Coop store but they are adding e-car chargers to the front of the hotel so that will be available soon. This is a lovely little town.

Happy Stay at Havila Hotel Raftevold

Had a lovely stay at this little hotel on my way from Bergen to Alesund. Once I arrived at the hotel, I wanted to change my room from street facing to lake view, and they were able to accommodate me with a small fee. The hotel has a stunning view so definitely splurge for the better view. The room was a good size with a comfy bed. The hotel breakfast was filling. I'd recommend staying here - the price was affordable and accommodations were great!

This hotel is located in amazing surroundings (if this place doesn’t make you calm and peaceful, nothing will!) The balcony view was fantastic. Didn’t explore much in the neighborhood but it was a perfect place to stay for one night on our Western Norway road trip.

+: Staff is very kind and helpful, the room was a little small, but very comfortable. The view on the lake is perfect, definitely revommended to have such room.
-: The shower doesn't have a door, so the water was leaking out even under the paravan, soaking the whole bathroom.
It would be nice having a small fridge in the room.

Good accommodation pity about the food

We stopped here while travelling between Ålesund and Kalvag. The accommodation was very good but the experience was let down by the food.
Buffet style dinner which was bland and poor quality.
We arrived at breakfast after the tour buses had gone. There was not much food left.
There is a great cafe 200m along the road which sells homemade food at reasonable (for Norway) prices. Open 11am - 8pm, closed Mon & Tues. We didn’t know this at the time of booking.

There is no fridge in the room. Bathroom sink is extremely small. There was a strong unpleasant smell that appeared to be from a disinfectant. Service was not very polite and breakfast was basic for Norwegian standards

Nice hotel, but on a motorway.

We were given a room which had smell of dampness, but was immediately changed when I reported it at reception. Receptionist was very helpful. Our room was a standard room which did not have views of the lake, but views of the mountain and motorway were also good. However, being on the motorway there was a content noise of passing by traffic, but that slowed down considerably at night. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Seemed more like an American hotel room than anything else I had seen in a week traveling throughout Norway. The bed was comfortable and each side had a decorative throw pillow so you could have an extra pillow for sleeping if you needed it. The breakfast was alright, but was great to have it included. The only dining options are in the hotel unless you drive about 15 min to Stryn.

Beautiful location right on the lake.

The location of this hotel and views out across the lake were fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable although unfortunately there was no fridge. This was an issue as I was there in very warm weather. The town of Grodas was very small with little to do and the hotel staff were unable to give any advice in regard to local attractions. When asked where the nearest tourist info could be located they sent me to a place 10 km away which consisted only of an old bridge . . . no tourist information. The town also had no where to eat other than the hotel itself. I would recommend the hotel for a one night stay only. If staying longer I would look elsewhere.

Small room but with excellent lake view

I booked triple room but the size of room is really small, in fact this is normal double adding additional bed. It left only narrow corridors and we can't open all of our luggage.

But it had balcony facing the lake compensated the shortfall and they have good breakfast.

On their website, the restaurant would be closed at 6p, but when we arrived at ~8p, the restaurant was still operating. I think that was because of a tour group stayed there.

Wonderful Horningdal lake

We arrived late, and stayed, for one night only on our way south. The hotel lobby was under renewal and was of cause disorderly as they change carpets. We was kindly received and even if we was late for the restaurant we was attended. In the morning we was met by a marvelous view of the Horningdal lake, the deepest in Europe. Before we contiued our trip south we had a excelent breakfast. Best Western Raftevolds Hotel is a good choice for pit stop travelling through Norway, but also as a base for longer stay for backpackers and.

The hotel is situated in a wonderful location on the shore of a fjord. Although I arrived late I received a warm welcome and was able to get some food and drink - excellent service!! The room was very comfortable and had a wonderful view of the fjord. Overall a great hotel which I will return to in future.

Boka rum med sjöutsikt. Så fint! Sköna sängar. Härlig utomhusmiljö - särskilt vid fint väder. Går att bada precis utanför!

Oengagerad personal och mycket som var helt trasigt t ex handfatskranen. Så titta på utsikten och sov skönt och strunta i att reta upp er på det slitna & trista:-)

Vi var heldige, og fikk rom med flott utsikt over innsjøen.

Renholder trenger dessverre et lynkurs i utførelse og kundebehandling. Unødvendig å mase om renhold 3 ganger mellom kl. 8 og 10. La folk få sjekke ut først.

Dusjhode bør byttes. Vann over hele gulvet etter en dusj. Varmekabler på badet ble ikke lunk i på 2 dager. Avsuget på badet er slapt. Den ene madrassen var utslitt i fjærene, og bunner når man setter seg ned. TV'en er en solid nedtur i bildekvalitet og hvilke kanaler som faktisk virker. Ta med nettbrett eller bruk Chromecast. Treg wifi.

Frokosten er veldig enkel, men nesten OK. To morgener med kalde speilegg, selv om de nettopp er lagt frem. Baconet virket å være stekt en annen dag. Godt brød. Irriterende fluer.

Veldig fint opphold! Fine rom og kjekt med daglig nye håndklær! Eneste vi kan si noe på, er at det ble ganske varmt på rommet, og måtte ha altandøren åpen på natten. Ganske bråkete fra veien, men det er jo strengt tatt ikke noe dere kan gjøre med!:) Vi vil mer enn gjerne komme tilbake - men da tar vi gjerne et rom mot innsjøen:)

Hadde et fint opphold, rent rom, god frokost og hyggelig betjening. Fin beliggenhet. Savner muligheten til å regulere temperatur da det var noe varmt spesielt på badet i sommermåneden. Hvis en skal se positivt på det så tørker badeklær og håndduker raskt. Minus var at vi som hadde utsikt mot sjøen ble noe plaget av røyking like under balkongen. Alt i alt var det veldig fint opphold i Hornindal, og anbefales!
