The room we had overlooked the river. Very beautiful view. The rooms were nice and very big. The balcony and hot tub were great. The only drawback to me was the water at the bathroom sink had alot of dirt in it. Just use bottle water and everything is great. The staff was very pleasant. I would stay again for sure.

The WiFi internet doesn’t cover every rooms, 3 mobile network in Thailand also can not reach the area where my room was and I can not realign on WiFi, can not do anything but sleep.

Good location with lovely our room with river view and had private hot spring pool. The food is reasonably priced and have provided the few water activity for in-house guest...

While it's a perfect location for those seeking a peaceful retreat. The ambiance resembled a national park in the heart of the rain forest... Recommend can stay 2 night with have enough rest here and go nearby attraction

Brilliant getaway out in the countryside of Thailand. But it IS the countryside. Once you’re at the resort, however you choose to get there (whether it’s your own transportation or the shuttle they provide for 4800 BHT). There is an unfortunate trend with the priceyness of the resort activities but that being said I was on a budget and if you aren’t, then this place is AWESOME. Tree top park to play through, lake and pool to swim in. Onzen’s to relax, it’s brilliant. The staff is amazing as well, nicest people and they do have some English-speakers there. A village and small shop are nearby. I recommend the onzen villa which is where I stayed, brilliant view and nice little hot tub to watch the river. Overall highly recommend especially with a high budget.

I find this place is very peaceful and quiet.
In the middle of jungle by the river.
Staff very helpful, breakfast and dinner more than expected.

The grounds of this resort are a well manicured botanical garden. My only reservation is that I got up early every morning hoping to see wildlife, such as frogs, water lizards, interesting birds, etc. I saw none, not even a squirrel. Imagine the disappointment of an avid eco-tourist!
The rooms are luxurious and service excellent. The food is very good, except for the Western breakfast, but that is usual in Thailand.

A very relaxing stay here. The room was clean and the resort itself was kept very tidy. The private onsen pool was lovely looking out onto the river. The staff all very friendly and helpful. If we ever come back to this area, we would stay again.

Good Nature and lots of History

We had a lovely stay at Home Phutoey...The hot spring swimming pool were a bit cold for December... But overall we had a good time... Good Food and enjoyed the Museum on site!!!

Nice hotel by River Kwai. Big ground good for night walking and strolling. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Restaurant food was good. Breakfest was good.

Hotel staffs prefer foreigner than Thai. In the morning (Breakfast time), staffs say greeting only foreigner but ignore Thai. Moreover when you use swimming pool in the night time (7-9 PM.) Staffs will turn off light bulb without checking customers overthought in time for operate swimming pool. It is dangerous and not safety for use their facilities.

I would go somewhere else. The staff are lovely and this review should not reflect badly on them. The \"resort\" is pretty half baked. Lovely rooms thatare comfortable. Beautifully designed grounds but none of the services and comforts you would expect for a resort. I felt like I was in The Shining a bit - it was desolate and boring. Help yourself to a beer from the not always stocked fridge by the pool. No food service there. The food was really terrible and incredibly over priced for what it was. And there is no way to leave the grounds unless you want to pay $100 usd for a trip to the nearest attraction!!! Keep in mind: it costs about $1.50 usd to take the bus from town to the resort. You would think they would offer affordable transportation to nearby sites or else rent motorcycles so purple can go on their own but they offer nothing.

So, if you're looking for a truly remote location where all you have to do is wander the local forest and sit by a pool by yourself and eat three basic meals a day...this is a great place for you. If you're looking to do anything else I would pay less and get cheaper accommodation closer to what you want to see our else pay more and stay at an actual resort.

Great escape from Bangkok. Awesome staff!

We booked last minute so had no idea about the area, hotel and what to expect. The staff was beyond great! The hotel itself has evolved over time and is very beautiful and calming. Our villa was wonderful and clean and, had an awesome view of the River Kwai. I gave a \"4\" for the appearance, based on the overall appearance because some of the beautiful paths need to be re-leveled but it appears that they are working on it!

Awesome jungle retreat above the River

This resort is so awesome. We stayed an extra night. The food and service was outstanding. The Tree Top experience is so much fun. Be sure to book a River cruise. Worth the travel. Hope to come again in the future.

Living with an infestation of ants

The lady at the front desk was very nice. But the fact that our room was infested with ants. Was terrible , they came and sprayed the bathroom . But that did nothing in the end run. The ant just disappeared . When I had a shower they came out again by the thousands, they were living between the tile and the wall. I spent the night washing them down the drain while my wife slept . I would keep them of the bed . As there was no body at the desk anymore. Once I thought I had gotten ride of them I went to bed. Only to awaken by ant crawling all over the bed. By morning I had a couple of hundred dead ants on the foot of the bed and the mat I placed at the bathroom door was covered as well. It was all I could do to keep them off my wife while she slept. in the morning we left even though we had paid for more days . The lady at the front desk offered us everything but our money back. We took photos and videos of the ants to show the front desk staff.

Resort is off the main road and you need to drive down an unpaved road to the resort. Best to get there before it gets dark. Resort has its own good museum,which is very educational. Quite a few free activities available too, but we didn't get a chance to enjoy due to our short stay. Will definitely go again.

Nice place but could be much nicer

Very beautiful location. Peaceful. Overall a nice place to stay but it could be much better. Several areas were in disrepair and looked like they hadn't been touched in years.

Very disappointed that the room had no operable windows. So here you are in a beautiful place, with lots of nature sounds and cool nights and you are forced to sleep in an air conditioned room. That's just crazy that you don't have the option to open a window, turn on the ceiling fan and have some fresh air in a nature resort like this.

A ways from everything. in the jungle, near river.

Decent drive to see the popular tourist sites, but if you have a car it's manageable. Food was okay, facilities were fine, no complaints besides no hot water.

Not bad, but not great either. Future visits and I'd choose a different hotel/resort. Owner disposed of pregnant cat because he doesn't like them even though guests do. I'll never return.

Pros and cons....

Some rooms are top top however others need serious renovation. We got our room change after our 1st night and then we were pleased. The hot spring was great extra. Cons... A bit far from main town and Erawan but good and lovely environment overall.

A refreshing stay!

This resort was an unexpected delight! It has a hot spring, a great pool, ping pong, paddle boats, kayaks, a \"beach\" area on the river, and spectacular views! Our room was upgraded for free to a cottage that overlooked the river. We could enjoy the views from bed. I hope to stay again!!!

Good for relax & adventure

Lots of activities such as Tree top adventure, Hot spring pool, Rafting, etc. But should check & reserve activities in advavce for weekend trip. The room is quite big, even though we stay 3 persons (Dad/Mom/Son 12 yr). This place is good for someone who love nature & adventure in a same time. Tree Top adventure is recommended. We plan to stay here next year again.

Peaceful Getaway

This was a peaceful and remote location for a nice getaway. We went January 1, 2014 for a couple of days. The room was clean. Everything was quiet. There are activities on site like kayaks and a huge 'zip' line park. The price for the zip line was a bit pricey (1600 b). I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a peaceful getaway. It is centrally located to many tourists attractions and parks. The bed are comfortable too. The food in the restaurant was some of the best I have ever tasted in my 2 year stay in Thailand. The entrance drive to this site is difficult to find and not well marked....use your GPS or google map to locate it...if you pass the temple...you went too far...go back one driveway. Enjoy There is more to offer here than we took advantage of...give it a try.

Løst toiletbræt.
Smånusset værelser
9 solsenge ved poolen til ca 100 gæster.

Wir hatten 2 sehr schöne Tage in der Unterkunft. Supergut war der Onsen-Pool... allerdings dachten wir erst wir könnten gar nicht rein... war doch SEHR heiß. Wir mussten kaltes Wasser einlaufen lassen...
dann war´s super.
Das Essen im Hotel war auch sehr sehr lecker.
Wir haben nichts unternommen weil wir schon öfter in der Gegend waren und einfach nur relaxen wollten... das hat bestens geklappt.
Die Zimmer waren sehr schön und sauber. Das Deluxe-Zimmer hat etwas muffig gerochen... liegt wohl an der hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit und das Zimmer war vielleicht schon einige Zeit nicht vermietet und daher nicht klimatisiert... Da sollte vielleicht vorm Einzug eines Gastes mal geschaut werden und ggf. vorab die Klimaanlage eingeschaltet werden.
