Pleasant staff at front desk and valet parking convenient and reasonable. we ate one meal at the adjacent Lava Lava Beach club which was good but it was raining hard so we didnt get to enjoy the beach while eating. The only negative in our stay was that the hot tub had many people in it each time we thought we might use it. Otherwise we had a great stay

The Kauai Shores Hotel was a great find! I loved the slightly 70’s vibe of the decor, and the price was a great value. The room was nice—comfortable bed and quiet for great sleeping. The Lava Lava Beach Bar had a fun night time action —with live music, great drinks, and excellent people watching. Yoga on the beach was a nice touch. Highly recommend for a budget traveler.

We loved our stay at Kauai Shores Hotel. The rooms were updated and very clean, and the entire property was beautifully maintained. The groundskeeping really stood out, and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay, rooms were clean and comfortable, they kept really up with clean towels which was super helpful with all our time at the beach. The valet was super convenient and one mishap was quickly and wonderfully handled. Absolutely will come back for hopeful future trips!

The customer service was outstanding! From check in to room service they went above and beyond. Room was great condition and spacious. Both self and valet parking easy. Location 10 minutes from airport and the Coconut Grove shopping area has a market and good food choices. The hotel is 1.5 miles from Sleeping Giant trail which was a challenge but worth it. Overall we had a great time. Highly recommend this property!!

Very nice hotel. Everything is great except the restaurant and bar hours don’t go late (close at 9pm) and the rooms were pretty muggy. My clothing felt damp even with the AC on and doors closed. Would recommend bringing some laundry moisture absorbing sacks. Valet parking was super easy and convenient.

Place is magnificent for location amenities and surrounding markets you do not have to leace if you dont want to you have everything there next to you and it is best place to be right in the middle of notth and south shore we also love the free bike rentals and valet when needed

The hotel was in a great location and had a nice room. We did experience cold showers often while there. The bar was good but the restaurant had issues and were not the best at accommodating guests. Bikes that could be borrowed were very limited and had to get there early to get one. Able to walk to most locations or drive.

This is a very nice relatively economical resort with a beautiful beach, 2 swimming pools, a hot tub, beautiful landscaping, and free bike rentals at the end of a 12-mile bike path along the coast. We loved having a full kitchen in our room in the Maile building. We took advantage of the hot tub and bikes. We also enjoyed a nice dinner at Lava Lava Beach club in the property. We had an issue with our bathtub drain and the staff came and corrected it within a hour of our request!
The biggest problem with this resort is parking. There is not enough and the situation is made worse by a sewage pump replacement project which takes a portion of the parking lot for a construction site and is projected to last at least another half year. During this period, the resort might consider renting some parking from the strip mall next door as the valet parking is simply not enough to handle the need.

The property is beautiful and well-kept outside. Rooms are updated, however, the walls are pretty thin and housekeeping could have been better. We were awakened numerous times throughout the night and early morning with flushing toilets, people in the halls, and pressure washers on the patio. The Lava Lava restaurant was amazing and the adjacent beach had plenty of lounge chairs. We also appreciated the valet service accommodating us when they already had 100 cars. Overall, it was a nice place to stay.

All around a very nice place, lots of families with young children, the staff was great, the food was always good. We did a wedding there because my son the groom had visited this place at lest 3 times prior to this visit and all the family had a good time and the wedding went on without a glitch and I'm sure the wedding couple will attend her again in the future.

AC leaked onto the bed. Mattress was terribly uncomfortable (only hotel of 15 I’ve stayed in all year to cause backaches). Cockroach in the hallway and it was huge. Housekeeping skipped us one night- had to request it for night 3. Coffee in room was very bitter- turns out it was expired! I asked to speak to the manager a few times but she wasn’t available. The location is nice but I cannot recommend this place.

3 very lovely old property. Nostalgic 1980’s feel.
4 lava lava restaurant bar .. dated. People were nice, bartenders very curt.
5 parking rating poor. Forced to valet park each day to get a parking space.

Overall would never stay there again or recommend to friends.

This is a very nice hotel. Cheerfully decorated with a beach vibe. Clean and comfortable. We had a kitchenette that was good for breakfast and snacks. Maid service was great. On the beach but not a swimming beach. Pool and games for the kids. Not a grand resort but very charming. Shopping area nearby. Nice walking trail by the ocean.

I can't believe how perfect this hotel was. It reminds me of the funky, laid back beachside hotels of Tulum circa early 2000's. Clean, safe, with every convenience imaginable including free valet- with zero pomp and circumstance of a luxury resort.

Great hotel, we enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Rooms were clean, 2 pools and hot tubs and loungers were nice. Parking could be a bit of a pain, and the attached restaurant/bar that was on the beach was too expensive, so we found other really great options in Kapaa.

So happy with our week long stay. From proximity to main road, cleanliness, size of standard room, two pools, jacuzzi, and being steps from the water this place was perfect. Check in/out process was simple and staff was so very friendly. They have free self and valet parking, free bike rentals on a first come first served bases, free yoga in the morning, and filtered water refill stations.
One last thing this place is walking distance from coconut market place which has restaurants, shops and best of all an ABC store! It's also walking distance from Napali brewing, passion bakery cafe and other great places!

I was extremely disappointed in the condition of the property based on the ratings on hotels.com. Very misleading. The pool area is like a motel off some deserted highway, the buildings are old and smelly. Room was very small and run down. We immediately moved hotels after a horrible experience with hotels.com customer support. I finally found one agent willing to help and actually do their job. The hotel people were amazing about providing us a refund. Hotels.com agents are the kind that hang up on you if they need to do any type of work. But thankful finally one of the hotels.com agents called the hotel to confirm we can do the refund. The staff at the hotel are great and super nice. It just wasn't the place for our family.

Only one smaller hot tub that was full constantly so we never made it in and with pretty bad weather that would have been nice. Need to have more to do around the hotel grounds, like horse shoes, volleyball, something when the water is too rough to get in. The staff were great. Good overall stay, wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Accommodations were above average overall with some shortcomings. The room was equipped with a Keurig coffeemaker and mini-refrigerator, but no microwave. The (heat pump) air conditioner was effective and welcome, but blew directly onto the bed so you could not escape the direct air flow. Coffee was provided for the Keurig, but no decaf. Room doors (to the hall) could not be closed quietly so early risers or night owls woke those sleeping. I'd probably stay here again, but would have to consider these downsides first.

Such an excellent hotel! Love the old Hawaiiana vibe—the great Lava Lava restaurant right next door, and of course, the ocean. It became one of our favorite beaches for swimming and having fun just bouncing in the waves. Morning yoga was awesome too.
Great central location too—easy to get anywhere on the island. We will be back!

Our room faced the pool and jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi pump is making a terrible whistling noise, and we had to close our balcony door whenever it was in use. We reported the issue to reception, but they didn't do anything about it.

Loved the location, right on the ocean and next door to the Coconut Marketplace, which had good dining options and an ABC Store. The hotel's renovation included many fun features and lovely spaces. There are several water stations on property so hydration was always good. Even though we visited many beaches on Kauai, the one right at our hotel was all we really needed. There is a wonderful boardwalk right from the property and a well-marked trail that goes for miles north of the property. Daily housekeeping was thorough and coffee pods replenished daily. Yoga on the beach was great...a one-hour free class every day. We didn't use the bikes, but there were always some available. Parking was confusing at first, but we got the hang of it. The Lava Lava Beach Club with B-L-D is not operated by the hotel so no charges back to the room. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!

Our trip started with very bored front desk personnel. The hotel grade is 3 1/2 stars which was really misleading for us. The grading and the customer ratings, at the time I booked the hotel, made me feel good about booking this hotel.

However, the hotel is a motel that is worn out with small rooms. We choose to pay a bit more for a pool view room to avoid a parking lot facing. We got a room that faced the wall of one of the buildings. Even though they eventually offer to move us, they made this comment that really upset me and set the tone of the stay: \"the room qualifies as a pool view.\" That's where I knew I made a mistake. Don't get foul by the reviews.

The property location is 4 out 5. The restaurant is 3 and also worn out with mediocre food. Very high traffic property and maybe that is where the attitude is coming from.

I don't recommend this place if you can afford to pay 20% more. In vicinity are much nicer hotels. I just made a mistake based on the reviews and the hotel grading.

Door to the room doesn't shut on it's own, have to pull it tight s it sounds like you're slamming it every time. Very pricey on the menu for the restaurant.

We loved this hotel. It's such a gem and not your typical corporate hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacey enough for 4 people. I really appreciated the little details offered by the hotel, like luggage storage under the bed, umbrellas for the rain, a personalized Christmas ornament for the holidays, yoga classes and so much more.

The weather wasn't great so I can't say much about the beach area, but we would 100% stay here again.

Never even staying here and they will not refund me. I did a same day reservations got there paid for ocean view king room. Was given a king with a partial view of you stood in one corner of the room. Asked to be moved. Wow is all I can say got moved further away to a room with screaming kids that couldn't be blocked out with the paper thin walls. Just told them we would like a refund and would look elsewhere. To not get a dime back from this place. I am just flabbergasted how this hotel gets away with charging someone for two night when they never even sated for 5 minutes. Now let's get to the parking situation. Wasn't one single parking spot with 5 other cars trying to also find a place to park. What a joke for a hotel. This is the worse experience I have ever had with any hotel I have ever stayed at.
