Staffs are okay! Not totally impressive at the room because it’s a bit dark and the furniture are older. The only good thing is we purchased the buffet breakfast. Staffs at the restaurant were courteous and hospitable. Greeted us with sincerity and thanked us when we left! There’re many options of food to choose from.

The room was great, and the staff at the front desk, concierge, and restaurant were all excellent. We stayed for 4 nights, the male restaurant manager helped to reserve the same table for dinner, and the female manager brought us sliced lemons at breakfast. In the elevator, the cleaning lady reminded my husband to bring a jacket when out since it started to get windy out. Both breakfast and dinner buffets with a wide variety of dishes, and the food was excellent, very unique desserts. Hotel offers free shuttle to ferry terminal, luggages check-in at terminal, ferry direct to Hong Kong airport, very convenient. We had a great time staying.

For me still the best place to stay in zhongshan. Very good gym and pool. Excellent location. It is connected to a mall with a wide selection of restaurant , coffee shop and a very nice grocery that sells everything.

Hilton Zhongshan hotel is conveniently located above a large mall where there is plenty of food and shopping choices. Their service is very good as the concierge team was very helpful to guide us as visitors on not just directions but the ways of China such as ordering items through their Meituan app or booking cars using DiDi (like Uber but in China).

The hotel is located next to a large mall so finding food options is convenient. The hotel is also centrally located in the Shiqi district so hailing ride share isn’t a problem. Zhongshan is a 2nd or 3rd tier city so they don’t have a working subway as of February 2025. It’s a good place to stay away from the busier areas of the Greater Bay Area.

Great hotel in Zhongshan (if not the best)

Great hotel. Very convenient location centrally situated at the heart of Zhong Shan. Can take buses to move around the city. Helpful and friendly staff. The room can be brighter.
The roof top on 60th floor offers stunning view of the city.
The bar on 59th floor has live music with very good singers. The bar is a bit too bright though as the management puts on the sports TV channel on one end of the room with the singers on the other end. A bit of the waste of the night view of the city as it is not easy to have a good look outside. The bar manager is very helpful with good advice of the wine choices.

Our stay and 3 rooms were in great condition and kept clean daily. The customer service received was good. If there were one thing that stood out it would've been the level of English communication, but being that I was the foreigner visiting Zhongshan, I didn't want to review just based on that. There were, however, some outstanding Hilton employees who went over and beyond and I took the liberty to tip directly:
Sayed and Vinson. Sayed was amazing and so very helpful when my husband ended up with a sprang/injured ankle. Vinson was so attentive to both my husband and father during that time. Thank you and I would definitely stay again at the Zhongshan Downtown Hilton.

Room lightings are too dark, and room temperature should not be set as default, each customer will have different preference on room temperature. It's always too hot in the room for most of the hotels in China, Chinese hotel managements just do not have this mentality about the importance of comfortable room temperature.

Can't go wrong with the Hilton Zhongshan Downtown!

Service is top notch, rooms are really nice as well.
Staff really go out of their way to help.
Didn't have breakfast, so no comment on that.
There's a Starbucks right next door (2nd floor) with an entrance that's tricky to find.
Swimming pool and sauna are also worth a visit.
Unless you're a Hilton Honors member, you have to pay for using the internet.

Very nice stay!

It was a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. The breakfast is, however, on the weak side. There was a wide variety but some foods not done right. The hot foods were not hot. Coffee was not done by cup and so, did not taste fresh. They should learn from other big hotels how to do the breakfast properly. We would return to the hotel but would skip the breakfast there. Besides, there are so many restaurants around the hotel. Getting good food is not a problem.

Pleasantly surprised.

Modern, upscale hotel (certainly by Chinese standards) located next to a shopping mall in downtown Zhongshan City.

The lobby is large and impressively decorated and we had a King Hilton Deluxe room which was also spacious, very modern, clean and well equipped. The bathroom was large with a tub and separate shower, and the bed was large and very comfortable.

We were only here for one night and dined at the Italian restaurant on one of the upper floors. Whilst the view, the ambience and the service were all good, the food was average at best.

The buffet breakfast was OK - a reasonable selection of and cooked breakfast available if you wanted it.

Overall we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our expectations weren't high - they were based on the 5 star hotels we stayed in during a trip to Shanghai 12 months before, which weren't great - so why should a Hilton in a relatively small city (by comparison) be any better? However we will definitely stay here when visiting Zhongshan again.

we stayed at 50th floor(executive floor) with a large bath tub, executive lounge on 51st floor where we can enjoy freey breakfat, free tea n free drink plus free wifi. our hotel was clean n tidy
swimming pool was clean n in good condition.
BUT size of body bath, shampoo n conditioner not enough for the 2 of us. and no free wifi in room
location was great, lots of shopping n restaurant within walking distance

Great place to stay, pool, gym great views. They want 500RMB per night as a room deposit, when you stay over 9 night that adds up to a significant deposit once you walk in the door. Although it is understandable given that people can rack up all hotel cost on their room number it is however not exactly my custom. But the management behind the counter were flexible about this issue and resolved it quickly. Top bar located at the top of the hotel the staff were a little absent minded if not a little rude but this will improve with time I hope. Otherwise a great stay, rooms are amazing on the 48th floor and the continental breakfast made a great start to the day Chinese and Western style food done well.

Stayed here for 8 nights. The accommodation is excellent overall.
Pros: Clean, spacious and very pleasantly designed rooms, very friendly and helpful staff (especially Pinky at the downstairs bar and the lovely lady that managed the business centre), the nice big shower and bath, good downtown location, decent buffet breakfast, great Italian restaurant, decent business facilities, good gym, and complimentary port transfers.
Cons: Lifts often took forever - appears to be no logic at all to their configuration (two would often stop at the same floor to pick up one guest); Japanese restaurant (recommend against any sushi); gym was hot with inadequate cooling.

Stayed here with my family for Chinese New Year and Hilton was brilliant. Great location, right next to Lihe Plaza which had great shopping and restaurants and opened til late. Hotel was very clean and new, and the staff were polite and always greeted us kindly. View from our room was amazing and would love to stay here again next time we return.

bed & tap water for making tea

Everything is very good except the quality of tap water. The colour of water from water tap shows that the water is not suitable for drink because it has lots of impurities and in brown colour. That is absolutely not suitable to drink and use it for tea making using the tea boiler provided in the room.
