The staff was excellent. They gave guidance on what to do and helped with transportation . The property is beautifully laid out. It has plenty of old world character. Parking is quite a challenge in this area. But the hotel does have the option to let you park in front if you leave them the keys. We only found out about this later. The hotel is in a very old palace. That breakfast was excellent.

La situation géographique de l’hôtel est très bonne car elle se trouve à côté de la vieille ville.
Par contre la qualité de l’accueil à l’arrivée a été plus que moyen.
La salle de bain est de taille minuscule est déconseillé aux personnes de grande taille Ainsi que celle de forte corpulence.
D’autre part la salle de petit déjeuner n’est pas de taille suffisante. Compte-tenu du nombre de chambres. Plusieurs personnes ont dû rebrousser chemin car il n’y avait plus de place.
cependant, pour être honnête la chambre avec la petite terrasse bien exposée vue sur le jardin est assez sympathique hormis la salle de bain.

The actual building was beautiful but experience was let down by the hotel does not have an Iron which when most people travel in a suitcase with clothes that get screwed up is crazy means you go out dressed like you have been draged through a bush, not expecting one in each room but one in the hotrl is a must. Also although the room was lovely we had to live 3 nights iug of a suitcase as tiny wardrobe with only 3 hangers (see pics)
Its a shame location is great and building fantastic,

Unfortunately the hospitality was not meet my expectations, the front desk staff didn’t explain anything about the hotel and room services, just handed over the room key and that’s it.

I believe as a four-star hotel they can do much better in communication.

You can’t judge a book by its cover. Beautiful outside. Nice photos on web MAJOR disappointment. Bar closed. Lounge area closed. Shows is SO SMALL. I weigh 120lbs. Could not move in the shower. Literally NO WHERE to put soap. (You must bring your own). For what you pay, this is an awful choice. Beds are rock hard. Pillows are rich hard. Cannot lock doors to a SHARED balcony (shared by four rooms). Wind blew the door open in the middle of the night. Breakfast was nice. Supposed to be included in the price. But some in our party had to pay for theirs. Cannot park in the area by the hotel. Gotta find a place. No where to pay for it, but we did not have an issue there at least. Small plain rooms.

Lovely and comfortable stay in Marsala

We needed a place to relax after several days of busy travel. Hotel Carmine was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We felt very at peace here and the surrounding area was calm and quiet. But we were very close to everything in the Marsala center by foot, so we were able to enjoy walking around the area as well.

You should visit Marsala!

Three nights in this beautifully renovated old convent were perfect for exploring Marsala and the surrounding area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had a little balcony looking out onto a quiet piazza. A good selection of restaurants, shopping and sightseeing were close by. Parking wasn’t straight forward but manageable and free. Breakfast was.......unbelievable!

Elegant hotel in the heart of the historic center

An elegant hotel in the historic center of Marsala, near many restaurants and bars. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. You can park your car in front of the hotel and leave your key, at no cost. Breakfast was very good, but the breakfast room staff were rude. We stayed 2 nights and explored nearby Trapani and Erice. I would stay here again if I were to visit Marsala again. Highly recommend this hotel. Also recommend the restaurant Trattoria Da Nino which is on Via San Lorenzo very close to the hotel.

Charming Hotel in a Charming City

We stayed at this lovely, sophisticated hotel for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. It is situated in an old nunnery in the old, historic part of the charming city of Marsala. The staff are wonderful especially Arianna on the front desk. Our room was very nice and bright, the breakfast was far better than would be expected. The bar area is very nice and relaxing and there is an old garden off the bar where you can have your breakfast in peaceful green surroundings. The hotel is only paces from some seriously good restaurants, good shopping, the Baroque buildings and the large yacht marina. I would certainly recommend to anyone to stay here and enjoy all it has to offer.

Delightful old world charm but modern convenience

This is delightful hotel with a charm absent from so many large chain & impersonal hotels. Our room was large and very comfortable and the common areas are beautifully furnished and maintained. The bar is lovely and adjoins a relaxing and pretty garden. All staff were very pleasant but special mention goes to the charming barman. The only small disapointment was the breakfast. What was offered was of a good standard, especially if you like cakes - of which there were an abundance. We would have liked some hot dishes, even if limited offer. Overall, this was the most stylish and yet reasonably priced hotel of the four we stayed in during our 10 day trip to Sicilly. Our only regret is that we only had 1 night there. Thank you

This is a beautiful hotel with a lovely courtyard in the back. It has a full bar o the main level and included a grand breakfast. The room was small but completely adequate and very neat and clean. We were just there for one night but I certainly would have stayed longer if our trip in Marsala had been longer. We love Hotel Carmine!

Great buffet breakfast! Central location of hotel, would highly recommend it. Staff very helpful. Room very spacious and beautiful classic furniture. Shower in bathroom, nice towels. Only downside was that despite AC, the room was quite hot and opening the balcony doors meant letting in mosquitoes!

Hotel Carmine is within an old convent. They have preserved many of the original features of the Convent & it has been tastefully decorated with many antiques. Our room was surprising. We entered on the first floor into a small room which was a sitting area & a separate small bathroom (very small shower) & with stairs leading up to a loft bedroom. This area was very spacious and once again very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was substantial & was served out in the garden.

I spent 3 nights in Marsala and the hotel Carmine was a great surprise. It is located in a quite square at the doorstep of the main street. The breakfast served in the internal garden is adequate to the hotel. The staff is excellent. The only weak point is the insolation from the doors, but it should be taken into account that the hotel is inside an hystorical building and most of it furniture has been kept and refurbished. I would say that it should be rated as ****.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable, breakfast is amazing, the staff is very helpful. The only bad thing is lousy Internet service. Half of our family never could get on the Internet.

We stayed for two nights in July as part of a trip round Sicily and this was the hotel highlight. Really beautiful room, lovely gardens, excellent breakfast, friendly staff and a lovely bar. We used the hotel as a base to explore Marsala and to take a ferry to Favignana (ferry terminal is about 20 min walk from the hotel). On the last day I asked about the cost of a taxi to Birgi airport and the gentleman on Reception could not do enough to help. If you are visiting Marsala, this is the place to stay.

Hotel Carmine is simply everything I look for in a hotel - and am truly amazed and thrilled on the very rare occasion I find it! This place is a bit tough to find, even with GPS, but very, very worth the effort. It is extremely reasonably priced, exquisitely tasteful, fantastic location near everything in town (incl delicious SLO Restaurant!) with the BEST breakfast served by a delightful staff. We were in Sicily for 3 weeks, but only here for 5 days. Just wish I could have moved the whole place, including charming staff- with me for the whole trip! Grazie per tutti!

Perfect Spot in Marsala's Center

They needed 3 years of renovations but the wait was well worth. This converted historic convent has everything a traveler could want, and that includes free parking which is rare in the center of any city. Some of the rooms have huge balconies overlooking the garden (formerly cloisters) which is the perfect spot for some late day refreshments. If you travel much in Italy you are used to the tiny showers by now so don't let it get to you, it's the norm. The front desk was extremely helpful and they provided detailed info on everything we needed. A sure-fire can't miss stop in Marsala.

fun in Marsala

This was the second night of our week stay in Sicily and just delightful. The inn was charming - in the center of town, an old monastery dressed up with gardens, glass floors and the best breakfast. The front desk clerk was helpful with our restaurant selection and steered us to a swanky gourmet joint just around the block (SLO - highly recommend for food and atmosphere). We even had parking in front of the hotel. Wonderful place - you can't go wrong booking here.

A mixture of good and bad.

Lady on reception was not particularly welcoming when we arrived. However a younger member of staff showed us to our room and was helpful when we tried to use the computer in the bar area. Wifi access was extremely poor. The room was clean and had a pretty balcony to sit out on overlooking the lovely garden. The bathroom was small and the towels tatty.The hotel was in a good location for exploring old Marsala. Cars had to park away from the hotel overnight a couple of times a week for the square to be cleaned. Breakfasts were ok although they did run out of bread once and the fruit juice was not the best I have tasted.

Gorgeous stone walls and floors marry with modern glass ballustrades and internal glass lift. the room was great with beautiful furniture and a large bathroom. Carmine -- Great Hotel in Marsala

I stayed in Marsala in February 2013 with my wife and 3 kids (15,13,8). Our kids loved our room which was a loft with bedrooms upstairs and a small downstairs. This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in during our stay in Italy. The hotel was in a nice neighborhood and right in the middle of the town. Would recommend for a stay in Marsala.

The cakes at breakfast were altogether amazing. Other good choices.
Super room, even though no exterior window, but obviously rooms with balconies, windows overlooking Piazza Carmine.
Relaxing in the garden after a day of exploring.
Would definitely recommend.
Staff recommended fantastic restaurant, which even provided a car to and fro, after lovely food and wine

Best hotel in Marsala.

This is a beautiful hotel. I think it was formerly a convent, which they've restored with the right combination of old and new. The rooms are ample. The breakfast provided many options and the service was lovely. Our only complaint was that they charged a lot for wifi (by the hour!), while most other hotels and B&Bs where we stayed in Sicily provided it for free.

Leider war die Klimaanlage defekt und ein Fehler wurde angezeigt. Personal war gut und Parkplätze an der Strasse, aber man muss auf die Reinigung achten.

Værelse overgik forventning! Skønt hotel, virkelig godt personale og en helt igennem god oplevelse. Vi havde den bedste balkon, vi ikke vidste var en del af verden, fyldt med sol og roomservice.
