Good overall. We stayed in an imperial room on the beach side of the hotel.

Very good facilities overall, but some of the rooms need to be updated and soundproofed.

Management is very good. Great attitude, service, and helped to solve problems. The manager also called us at the end of the day to check if everything was all right.

The one thing that was the biggest miss for us was inconsistency of service from hotel staff. Some are really great, friendly, and proactive, especially the cleaning staff. But others seemed to have an attitude and a scowl on their face when serving you.

Minoa Palace in Chania is one of the best resorts out there. All the staff are so kind and hospitable. A special thank you to Almera, who took care of our stay from day one until our departure; she is so kind and one of the best at what she does. Thank you also to Labrini (I hope I'm spelling their name correctly). The accommodation was beautiful, located right in front of the beach, and we had a private pool & private cabana by the beach that was exclusively for us during our stay. The food was excellent. The location is the best. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Elafonisi beach, arranged by the wonderful receptionist; our trip to the pink sand beach was a highlight. I would stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you for your VIP treatment of us; I can’t thank you enough. Thank you, everyone!

The rooms were spacious, the buffet breakfast delicious and the staff was very friendly. However, our key didn't work. I had to go to the lobby 7 times for this, which was a hassle. Also, in a 5 star resort there should be some things for kids to play with in the pool and more pampering amenities in the room, beside the obligatory shower cap. Also, a free shuttle to Chania would have been a big advantage.

Stayed 6 nights in a pool view room which we were upgraded to. Had a beautiful view from the 2nd floor.

The bedroom and bathroom were both very spacious and clean.

The buffet breakfast was excellent. Was fresh every morning and had a very large variety of hot and cold dishes and sweets.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Overall a pleasant stay in a beautiful property.

My husband and I stayed at the Minoa Palace for a portion of our honeymoon with the half board package and we greatly enjoyed the experience. Their location was great and transportation to Chania was easily accessible. The half board includes breakfast and dinner in which the food was excellent. We choose this option so that we could venture out during the day and explore other places for lunch. Their services were amazing from the spa to the various classes you could participate in. The pools were beautiful and easy access to the beach. I would highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a place near Chania.

The best hotel in Plantanias. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel is always clean, accessible and full of character. Breakfast was superb and the restaurant by the beach a lovely venue to eat it. An area I would suggest improving would be the menus of the restaurants to cater more for vegetarians and vegans but this is not a criticism.

We were travelling with a 16month old so really liked the facilities for toddlers - the playground and two children’s pools as well as the cot that was provided. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location to get to the beach, and restaurants along the strip. The food was nice in the restaurants - although not too many choices for small children.

We loved our time at Minoa Palace Resort. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted with bubbly and friendly staff. Upon check in we were escorted to our room where we were gifted a bottle of champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our honeymoon. The room was spacious and clean. The pools and beach access were excellent. To top it off, the complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious. The spa facilities were also very nice. My husband and I both had wonderful massages. The resort is about a 20 minute drive to downtown Chania but there are plenty restaurants and activities to do near the resort. 10/10 would recommend this resort to anyone.

Despite our stay starting with a havoc caused by the fire on the neighboring farm (not the hotel's fault), it turned into a very pleasant experience with the hotel personnel at all levels trying hard to mitigate any negative experience we might have had, even without us asking. The room was cleaned from ash blown in by the wind from the fire immediately, and, as soon as it became possible, we were upgraded to a room with beach views and farther away from the fire affected area. Staff on the property all are extremely polite and accommodating. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning stay in this area. A lot of tours available in the area, amazing dining options, and very warm local people will add extra positive notes to your enjoyment of the beach.

We really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner each night. Vasillis is the manager and was an amazing host! He greased us each day and made us feel like home.The rooms were clean and the hotel wa so close to the beach within walking distance to so many restaurants and shopping. This is an older hotel. Unless you pay for a beach front room this property is old. It is split into 2 hotels which are joined by a bridge that takes you across the street to the beach side where the rooms are slightly nicer. Not the cleanest hotel and staff not professional. Beach chairs are uncomfortable and chairs by the pool are all on grass. Not the type of hotel we thought we were getting.

Perfect Holiday!

Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were so attentive and provided impeccable service. Especially Zoi who we had both at breakfast and the Galazio where she introduced the food, outstanding. The facilities were brilliant from the beach, pool, spa, gym and use of the paddle court. Will definitely be coming back here at some point in the future.

We would absolutely come back here again. We had a lovely time despite being a bit cooler and stormier at the end of September.
On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful, we were shown to a seating area and checked in electronically. We were also given some fizz which always helps. Bags were taken to the room, always good after travelling. We had a few extras in the room on arrival such as a bottle of wine and some snacks. All the staff members, bar one or two, were very friendly, smiley and helpful. One or two were chugging on to the end of the season wishing they were elsewhere but it only showed itself in a slight grumpiness, it was only obvious because everyone else was so nice and smiley. The staff were able to sort issues really quickly and without fuss, greatly appreciated.
The hotel is split between two sides of a road. The way it is built is really clever so you need to take a moment to get your bearings. You will not notice the road on the landward side unless you are by the hedge next to the road. We tried to sit there but moved. Everyone else seemed really happy there though so its probably just me being sound sensitive.
There is a really nice bridge/walkway going from the main reception building to the beach side of the hotel, so you do not need to cross the road. There is a main pool here and we spent most of our time lounging around it.
We had a suite of rooms on the landward side, a bedroom, lounge/ dining area and a bathroom. These were

Great place to stay for relaxation on the premises! What I particularly liked is that because the hotel is so spread out, it did not feel busy even though it was fully booked. The staff provided a great example of Greek philoxenia by catering to our every need. I think the property is just a few infrastructure upgrades away from being able to be considered a true luxury destination hotel and less of an all-inclusive place. Overall 4/5. Will recommend to anyone in my network needing a resort in Platanias.

We are from Boston and we went to Crete to renew our vows. We choose Minoa to accommodate us and all our guests and we were above and beyond happy with our choice. The location of the hotel was amazing, food, cleanliness , structure, everything was more than we were expecting. The service and employes was sooooo lovely and friendly without excluding anyone. Zoe from the front desk was incredibly helpfull and made our stay unforgettable , people from the spa (Elizabeth got my nails done and she was amazingggg ).. Niko our server in the restaurant was every day so nice and we could tell how happy he was for working there. We truly reccomend Minoa Palace Resort and spa and we are looking forward to come back as many times as we can. Thank you so much all of you for an amazing time .

Incredible service, great location, delicious breakfast with wide selection. Truly 5 star experience. I used spa, laundry services and they were excellent. Booked a tour through front desk then had to cancel the night before the tour due to health reasons and got refund for the tour no questions asked. The concierge service is excellent, we got a lot of good recommendations. The room and bathroom are spacious and kept very clean throughout the stay.
Location is very convenient, tons of great restaurants nearby. The doctor’s office is across the street, which was very helpful.
Very welcoming staff, special treatment upon arrival and gift upon departure. We’ve had a great time and were very happy with Minoa Palace Resort.

I did a solo travel to get some rest and relaxation before baby is due. Minoa palace was perfect in every way! I stayed in the wing across the road near the beach and had a private pool. Perfect sized pool and got lots of sun. The rooms were large and well equipped and the food was outstanding! Service was great and staff all friendly and helpful. I was sad to go. I cannot wait to return!

The hotel is in a nice location, it has spacious rooms and lots of great amenities. You get to eat a wonderful breakfast on the beach every morning, there are multiple great pools, a nice spa and fitness center on the property. The beach is nice, but it's a pebble beach and the water gets deep pretty quickly, so it's not the most ideal for young kids (they had a great time in the pools though).

I really loved this hotel. Customer service was great and the views were exceptional. I would not buy jewelry from them again as a lot of the jewelry they sold in the store was not authentic. I saw it down at the old Venetian harbor for 1/4 of the cost. I am pretty upset about that.

Nice hotel with good restaurants and nice staff, but with a few problems:

1) Wi-fi was weak and frequently having to reconnect due likely to low capacity.

2) Taxi service from the hotel was poor and too slow. We had to wait for half hour or more for taxi to the city.

3) The hotel lacks back-up power for emergencies. Following a temporary power outage, water distribution failed (no generator to operate pump) and electronic doors did not work.

A great stay

This is a well run and well organised Hotel. We had a room with a private pool on the beach side. This kept us away from the more family orientated pool on the hotel side. The beach side pool was therefore adult friendly. The food was terrific as well. The hotel organised a trip to Samaria Gorge. But if you take this it's a full 15 hour day. We left at 05.00 and only returned at 20.00 hrs.

Great facilities, lovely beach & loads of pools to choose from. All excellently cleaned. Good food choices. Staff - hit & miss. Some happy to be there, others not so much.
Really odd arrangement with rooms, beach and breakfast restaurant - site split by busy road and although the walkways over the road linking the two sites was very nice, it was a real pain each morning just to get to breakfast. But breakfast was very nice.
Chania airport is the closest, but really check times of flights - only one we could get was to Heraklion - 2 hour drive!

Outstanding service accommodation location & food

I have stayed in 5 star hotels in Dubai, Oman and Abu Dhabi, this compares favourably. The greeting at reception, shown to the room, shown around the room, the facilities and proximity to an excellent beach is exceptional.

Some nice touches including the invitation to the a la carte breakfast and the delivery of a birthday cake for my wife's birthday made this special.

The imperial wing is quiet and right on the beach. I am already planning our next stay and Minoa Palace is on the list.

Stunning hotel, next to Platanias beach

We had a very pleasant stay at the Minoa Palace Resort Hotel. We stayed in the Imperial Wing on the second floor with partial sea views as promised. The room was spacious, and very comfortable, with very nice bathroom and shower. There were many choices where to eat tasty food. The breakfast in particular was very good, especially the setting. However the most striking thing was the staff. They make your stay here so much more memorable. This was due to their welcoming attitude, happy nature, and extremely prompt service, even when sitting on the beach. We did not come across one negative attitude from the staff. We had the choice to enjoy a well placed pool, as well as the nearby beach.
