This is a centrally located hotel with a very nice and accommodating staff. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. For dinner, there are 3 different options all inside the hotel and several others within close walking distance. Overall I really enjoyed this hotel. They also had a nice gym downstairs.

Good Hotel despite the construction

I stayed at this hotel during the month of September, 2018, when it was going through a major renovation on the first floor. My rating would be much higher if this construction wasn't going on at the time. I would expect that once it's finished, this would be a much better place to stay, but it was extremely inconvenient with the construction zone just outside the parking garage and all the construction storage taking up parking spaces in the garage. If you are staying here after it's completed, I would highly recommend this hotel which is in a great location.

Good hotel but poor bed choice

Great hotel at good location. However, \"superior rooms\" at such price should provide better beds (current ones are single size and not even flat.. very uncomfortable). In the whole hotel there are no double bed options. WiFi now has no password but is blocked by Chrome browser due to missing security certificate.

On the bright side, superior rooms have very nice bathrooms and breakfast is quite good as well.

Great hotel

I really love Sokos hotels. They are a chain, but they don't feel like it. This particular hotel is in the centre of Kotka, convenient for sightseeing, cafes and restaurants. It's near the bus station too.

The reception staff were professional and efficient, the room was spotless and, very important for me, it had a shower and not a bath.

The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, taken in the excellent Fransmanni restaurant downstairs.

The beautiful Sibelius park is just opposite and the Market Square a little further away. The hotel is situated on the Sculpture and Linden Promenades, attractions in themselves.

I shall certainly be back when I return to Kotka next year.

Great little hotel, no bathroom goodies though, so bring your own shampoo. Also no kettle in room!
But very comfy for the price and location. Mexican restaurant is okay, the neighbouring French one is very nice. Service everywhere was very good.

Kotka is a small town around 120KM east of Helsinki, this was a business and was recommended to
me by another colleague. Good clean hotel, breakfast was good and parking is under the hotel. A few
restaurants are right next to the hotel. Would stay there again.

I would think it is the best hotel in Kotka. The bedsheets won't be changed everyday (not sure how frequent) and there is no toiletries inside. The curtains are not enough to block out the sunlight. Apart from that, everything is great.

On a business project with Cursor. Enjoyed my stay and was amazed that so many people were speaking English at the tables in the bar. Would recommend an American newspaper or summary sheet as the hotels in Helsinki offer. Also, the eggs for breakfast were not prepared well on both days. Should have been fluffy and tasty.

The Sokos in Kotka has many good things going for it. The hotel is clean with good service. The attached amenities and the location are what really make it stand out.

The calm atmosphere in the attached Fransmanni restaurant makes it our default location for dinner. The quality of food is consistently good and the staff is accommodating and cheerful.

The Amarillo bar and grill looks great and is good for hanging out for a few drinks with friends, but I don't suggest that you order food here. The menu is American Southwest, but falls significantly short of acceptable.

The attached night club has options for both younger and older crowds. The downstairs caters to 20 and 30 somethings and the upstairs caters to an older crowd.

Love the hotel have been there before,
however at the check out the receptionist was not the most friendly I would say. The room was prepaid she said if I wanted an invoice I have to go to the app where I booked and get it there.
I didn’t quite understand as normally they give me the invoice there , but she seemed annoyed Jsut for the simple fact of explaining me.
Also this time the room didn’t have a bad tub. Instead was a good room with a very tiny shower in one side and bigger shower in another side where a bathtub would have been great.

One week of buiseness stay

Well. It os a big hotel in Kokta Center, close to a Galleria.
My room was in need if an updating, soecially the toilet/shower. Watercrane loose, water from shower leading out on the floor.
Old, dark, interiors in room and toilet.
The bed was dated and not as comfortable as you can expect.
Housekeeping do miss things every day.
Breakfast is good, buffé. A little little of the things on buffét was different during my week stay.
Meeting facility is ok. Fresch refreshmets.
Garage is tight and in basement, €15/day.
Restaurants (3 different) has different food offers.
There is a night club, Las Palmas, closing VERY late, however i didn't hear any noice from the Club on my room at floor 7.
3 saunas on floor 8, and a small gym with one machine.
Reception is frienly and helpful.

I feel that it is a overpriced hotel compared to standard given.

Kokonaisuudessaan yöpyminen sujui ongelmitta ja vaivattomasti. Huone oli siisti ja vuode todella mukava. Toisessa huoneessa yöpynyt matkakumppani oli aamulla aivan pää pyörällä kun oli herännyt vasta klo 8:45. Niin pitkään ei ole nukkunut kuulema juuri koskaan. Aamupala oli riittävä ja monipuolinen. Kaikki paikallisten suosittelemat illanviettopaikat sijaitsivat hotellin yhteydessä. 👌

Oltiin etuajassa liikkeellä ja saatiin kuitenkin huone heti. Henkilökunta oli todella ystävällistä ja palvelu ihan loistavaa. Yleiset tilat ja kulut olivat siistit ja selkeät, huone oli yleisilmeeltään siisti ja mukava, ylimääräisiä ääniä ei kuulunut, mutta vuode ja tyynyt olivat hyvin nukuttuja ja kylpyhuoneessa kuluneisuutta. Aamiainen oli loistava. Kaikenkaikkiaan hieno ja miellyttävä kokemus.
