Perfectly located for cyclists. Bike cage to secure bike. Happy to store my panniers earlier than my arrival and after my departure and also did that for my companions not staying at the motel for half a day. This allowed a car to transport bags uphill to Beechworth

Value for money stay with clean/comfort/quietness

Perfect stay for budget trip to skiing at Falls Creek or Mt Hotham. Have personally stayed here several times over more than 10 years and never been disappointed. The decor may not be to everyone’s liking, however the comfort, quietness and cleanliness cannot be faulted.

I got called about police and shooter incident and then , I didn’t get a refund. Very spooked and disappointed in owners non refund policy. As I would have totally stayed if not surrounded by police.

Black mold in the bathroom that made the room smell musty. Our clothes were contaminated with the smell. Not safe for humans unless thoroughly cleaned and properly ventilated

Everything was very nice. The photos online do not do justice of the actual room. In reality the rooms are better.
The only feedback i would give is to have more hot water for the room with the spa. We filled it once but then there was not enough hot water to maintain the right temperature of the water.

Stayed here recently. The AC remote wasn’t working, which made it difficult to adjust the room temperature comfortably. Also, in the morning when the hot water was running, there was a very loud noise — almost like a pipe was about to burst or an earthquake. It was quite unsettling, especially with no staff available around to assist or check the issue.

The room was otherwise okay, but these issues definitely affected the experience. An average stay overall — needs better maintenance and guest support, especially in the mornings

This property is in desperate need of renovation and does not deserve the 4 star rating it holds. Cracks in the paint work, uncomfortable bed, dust coated surfaces, pink mould around the basin sink hole, WiFi that keeps dropping out (to the point it is unusable).. the list goes on. Its one saving grace is it's close proximity to the centre of Myrtleford.

Lovely rooms and conventient location for basing yourself near Bright and Lake Buffalo, cost friendly, and exceeded our expectations. Owners are lovely, very friendly and helpful.

Spa bath in units is VERY deep! You do need to step up high to get in and out and and shower is over tub too, suited us just fine, but if you have any mobility issues just be aware.

The person at reception was helpful but had strong BO. The linen and bathroom were clean. The floor had dust bunnies. The roof of the bathroom is in need of repair and paint. There were cobwebs behind the doors. The TV remote was not easy to select stations. The AC cut out one morning. No outside lighting late at night.

We keep coming back every year at Easter. This year we arrived late, after the Reception had closed, and when I entered my room I realised I had made a mistake and booked the wrong room type (I needed twin beds and got one queen bed, my mistake). I managed to get hold of the reception and they went out of their way late in the evening to fix the issue and give me a different room. Thank you.
They do not provide room service on public holidays and it would have been nice if they had provided extra clean towels to make up for this. Having said that, had I asked for extra towels I am sure I would have received them.

On a cycling holiday from Wangaratta to Bright and stopped at Myrtleford for 2 nights. Bed was super comfy, shower fab, great parking if you had a car. Checking in took a little time and reception was in the dining room - strange old cigarette odour! Other than that it was OK. Wouldn’t rush back but was the only place with vacancies over Easter!

Had a really great stay here and would recommend to anyone. When I opened the door, I was truly amazed to see the room was so spacious and really well set out. The bathroom was also a great space for the sink and shower. Some places your shoulders would touch both sides of the walls but this definitely was not that. Going there at the end of July, you want the heater to work and it certainly did that.

The bed was really comfy, especially since I had been having terrible back problems during my holiday so the last thing you want is a block of concrete to sleep on. This was great. In fact, I also fell asleep on the lounge in there.

The fella on reception was a top bloke too. Some places certainly could learn from him.

I will certainly be back :-)

We really enjoyed the ambience of the motel and found the staff very approachable. We needed a bowl to heat up food and it was quickly supplied.
The only thing that was a little disappointing was that the soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty, but nothing to get worked up about!
Overall a splendid stay and with superb fittings and cleanliness. thank you Golden Leaf!

We arrived after hours, but the motel had a proactive and easy check in service for us. Room is super clean, new bathroom and everything in working order. We stayed 5 nights and everything was good. The BBQ area is really cosy and lovely. We didn't use it, but will do so when we return next year!

The spa bath had dirty rings around it were it had not been cleaned. There was hair in the basin. My husband has a sleep apnea machine that he needed to plug in to power. The power point was behind the bed when he moved the bed to plug it in he found 7 water bottles and a dirty cup underneath the bed. The couch was dirty and covered in crumbs. The bed had clean sheets and was comfortable enough. When I complained to reception I was told bloody cleaners and not offered any compensation.

Room cleanliness is less than desirable

We were allocated a room that wasn't in a good location - close to reception and the main road/entrance. However, the worst thing we found was dirty bed sheet that appeared to have blood stains. To the motel's credit, they immediately changed the room for us. In this period with heightened COVID awareness an unclean room is difficult to accept.

The room was large and very pleasant, though over-reliant on air con. Only fresh air came from small window at ground level through which exhaust emissions from patrons' vehicles also came. The WiFi was very weak and unreliable. We gave up and used our own mobile data.

The room we were originally given was poor - parking was difficult as there were workmen in the nearby rooms - we complained as the T V was also difficult to work- they shifted us to a larger & quieter room at the back of the property which was better even though the furnishings were somewhat older! We were comfortable after that!
