This is a hostal, so ratings and comments are in that context. Top of the list is the wonderful staff. Very friendly and helpful. Our room was small, but not tiny. Hot water in the shower. Cold A/C. Cable TV. Breakfast was very tasty. Very happy with our experience here and would definitely stay here again in the future

I liked Dario and Alex. They were very helpful with transportation and helping me change rooms. I didn’t like room #10 because the walls were dirty. The shower in both rooms #2 & 10 wouldn’t drain. I wasn’t able to watch t.v. because I didn’t know how to get to the cable station.

I have no complaints at all, I stayed in this place several times and every time we were assigned a room, we felt so good because everything was so neat and clean. I feel like we make no mistake choosing this place. It was excellent. People was friendly.

Overall this property was great value for the cost of the stay. It was conveniently located close to Palacio National de La Deportes Indes where I was competing in fencing. Italian, Mexican and Vegan restaurants and a cinema were in walking distance. Everywhere else we wanted to go was a short ride away by uber for only 1-2 dollars. The most redeeming quality of the hotel was the friendliness of the staff. It was like a family atmosphere. They tailored my breakfast to my taste and the breakfast was awesome. They were generally helpful and accommodating where possible and always smiling and pleasant. The room and common areas were always kept clean. This hotel far exceeded my expectations and initial impression.

Very pleasing stay

Love the staff they are very friendly always helpful. Room always clean and amenities available. The breakfast has vegetarian and vegan options. only regret the noise I believe there is construction going on woke us up early but otherwise a very quiet place. Always my first option when visiting El Salvador.

San Salvador isn't much to look at. The hotel however is a really nice place and organized a taxi for us really early to the airport. I made the mistake of thinking the airport was near San Salvador. It's not.

I really enjoyed my stay there the staff are all so friendly,its beautiful and clean facilities. It has that home feeling I was looking for, my room had the best view that is what I loved rhe most about it! A must stay if you ever go to San Salvador!

El hotel está bonito, le falta parqueo y un poco de mantenimiento a las instalaciones. Tiene wi fi gratis en las habitaciones y su personal es bastante amable. La zona en que se encuentra es ruidosa y está un poco difícil ubicarse para llegar.

Clean room, sheets and bathroom

The staffs were very friendly. Although I could not speak Spanish, they tried to help me find the Pupuseria that I wanted to go. Pupusa is the national dish of El Salvador. It is delicious! There is a Pupuseria just few blocks away from the hotel. My tour guider told me that it is safe to walk around in the area. I walked to the park and to the main streets from the hotel. The room is very clean and spacious. The breakfast has scrambled eggs, fried plantains, rice with red beans, bread, juice and coffee. The only thing I wish it could be improved is the hot water in the shower; it is not hot or warm, just like room temperature.

Comfortable stay!

I stayed two nights in November 2016. Good location, close to everything! The first night I stayed by myself. I have to say I felt safe at all times. The second night I stayed with my mom and sister-in-law that arrived from another town. They enjoyed the stay at Armonia as well. The beds were comfortable. Clean sheets and towels. Shower with hot water, I loved that! Working A/C and TV. Staff was always courteous and helpful. Breakfast varies, but it was delicious! Desayuno típico both days!
I would totally stay at Armonia when I go back to my beloved El Salvador.

Clean, quaint hotel with great staff, free wifi

This is a quaint little hotel with great staff, great service, great price and a quiet neighborhood. I definitely recommend a stay here.

The area is quiet and I don't recall any noise waking me up at night. The shower had hot water, the room was spacious, and there is free wifi, free breakfast and free parking. The bed wasn't the most lush bed, but for $30 it's definitely nothing to complain about...I slept well.

I paid $30/night and couldn't have asked for anything better for the price. The young man at the front desk didn't speak much English but was very very kind, helpful and pleasant. I had a tour guide help me check in and communicate with the front desk agent (SAN SALVADOR CUSTOM TOURS--book him!), which was very helpful as well.

The first night was on my way into Honduras and the second night was on my return home a week later. He remembered me the 2nd night and gave me my same room (11), which I appreciated.

Both mornings I had to fly out too early to eat the breakfast, but the 2nd night my flight required me to catch a taxi at 4am and the gentleman at the front desk set that up for me the night before (with the help of my English-speaking tour guide) and was there to say goodbye as I left.

If you're looking for a hotel with great value for a low price, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

Best & safe place to stay in San Salvador

I stayed 6 nights at Armonia Hostal. The neighborhood is quiet so you'll definitely get some good rest here. There's a good Italian restaurant next door, & a few blocks up/right near the Multicinema (5min walk), there is a corner with a few other restaurants. A couple more blocks up (10min walk from the hostel) is the San Luis Shopping Center, where there's a market, several stores, and restaurants. The huge Metrocentro mall/shopping center is about a 10-15min taxi ride ($5).

As for the hostel & rooms, it is one of the most comfortable places I've stayed. It is actually more of a bed & breakfast than a hostel. The rooms are big, super clean, very comfortable, & the AC worked perfectly. I stayed in a room upstairs facing the street (it was still quiet). The bed is very comfy so I slept well each night. There are a couple of routers so the wifi worked well in the rooms & throughout the property.

Typical Salvadorian breakfast is served everyday & it's excellent. Sometimes it varies - coffee, orange juice, eggs, bread, plantains, beans, and sometimes pupusas or tamales. The staff was super nice & helpful - they always gave me insights on where to go in El Salvador, which places to visit, & which bus to take (which I mostly used to get around). They work very hard to make sure you have a comfortable stay - excellent service! When I return to San Salvador, this is the only place I'd stay.

Four of us stayed at Armonía recently while visiting in San Salvador.
We were welcomed by friendly smiling staff that were very accommodating and helpful to their abilities. The staff do not speak English, but being a Spanish speaker I was able to translate for everyone else. We split up in to two rooms, both being the 'executive apartment' style room.
It was very spacious with a very well working A/C. The bed was firm, but comfortable enough.
They had water, though no hot water... Which is common in El Salvador so we already knew that going in. And at roughly $45 a night, I don't know what else we could have asked for.
They arranged a taxi for us to go out in to town, and waited for us to renturn.
We are currently thinking about going back, as we did quite enjoy our stay.
