The room needed some attention especially in bathroom. Tub surround grout falling, Tub looks very old. No hot tub which is one reason we came here. Been here years ago and the kids had so much fun. Waterslides look old and need a refurbish. Need to have clear accurate information. Fellow at front desk told me rooms on second floor and our room number was 309. Told us to leave the coupon for breakfast the first day and no need for it on the second day. However, we were asked for it on the second day.

Staff support was sufficient. The lighting in the bathroom was not working upon check-in & maintenance staff was requested who corrected the issue. The room & hotel show signs of extreme wear and require upgrading. Multiple items throughout the hotel & room were observed worn-down and/or in need of replacement.

Hotels definitely showing some age but saw definite improvements from a few years back. It’s a super cool close staycation spot for families so hope they continue renovating it. Should definitely be more clear on the no hot tub thing cause I saw no less than 10 people come down walk into the kiddie pool that looks kinda like a hot tub then get out and look around everywhere before leaving back to their room. Breakfast is fine for a free breakfast

Only given one key with multiple excuses why. Made the weekend difficult for our family. They closed the water slide because a hockey team was misbehaving but didn’t do anything about the team or parents. The team continued to misbehave without the water slide. The room was beat up, 4 out of 6 light bulbs were burnt out and the smoke detector was hanging by wires from the roof. There was cords everywhere but no modern USB outlets. The breakfast was very good.

Pillows and bed were terrible. Asked for extra pillows for the 3 people we had in our room, was told they were short on them and could only send us 3. All of them were flat and poor, poor quality. Also, the rooms were very loud and it was stated they were sound proof which was far from the case. Room keys gave us issues all week. No house keeping cane by to change towles or freshen up amenities during the 3 days we were there so ran out of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Rooms are very ran down. We stayed here because of an event going on at the lodge but wouldnt stay again. They need to do some major upgrades or drop their prices significantly.

Also, hot tub has been broken for like 4 years now. Not much of a draw to come back .

Terrible check in service. Old, out dated hotel. Awful, very over priced restaurants. Not being able to leave a debit or cash deposit is so outdated it's crazy. I offered a $1000 deposit on the room in place of $100 credit card deposit, and was refused. They would not allow it, I was told I could not check in and could find another place to stay. I was made to borrow a credit card to place a deposit after a 3 hour commute to the dump of a hotel. It's a real shame the place in such bad shape and the staff are not helpful. Hotel could be amazing but sadly it's anything but.

First impression was good, check in was fast. Foyer was nicely decorated. Clerk was pleasant.
Our room was very outdated. The bed was the worst part. King bed, ridged sides, completely concave, no support or softness. Bed was worse than anything I’ve had in Cuba. There were 3 small standard pillows that were old or cheap or both. Bathroom was clean but old. Bottom of door had water damage (not a huge deal) the roof was old fiber tiles. The counter top seemed newer. The shower head, although old, had good pressure. Shocked to see a lodge still using the small bottles of shampoo/conditioner vs the refillable wall mounted dispensers that I’ve seen in even higher end hotels. No blow dryer. Small fridge (not a deal breaker for us) but noting it as some people need a normal hotel sized fridge. This was not, it was the small under counter type. The ice machine was missing on our floor and the pipes and wires were left exposed with no caution tape or any barrier. I find this extremely odd especially being a family and dog friendly hotel. We did not use the pool, but noted it was always very busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. Very large pool area, with rooms attached to pool. Water slides looked cool but also looked very old with water stains. We did not eat at the hotel at all. Check out was done on line as I waited at counter for well over five minutes with multiple staff making eye contact but no acknowledgement that someone would be there to help me.

We booked and requested adjoining rooms even had it confirmed by phone but when we checked in we were a few doors downs which I find irritating since I worked in the Hotel industry for years and our booking was early week for a few days- very quiet. We thought of staying longer but not being adjacent rooms changed our minds. We have stayed there quite often and during Casino renovations the hotel side needs a lot of help. Being clean was the only reason we stayed. We used to get little treats and/or a nice greeting when we checked in, but front desk crew were uninviting. Will think again of other places if they do not improve - not asking for much.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to stay in a hotel that feels abandoned by time, maintenance, and possibly the laws of physics, the Medicine Hat Lodge is your place. The lobby looks fine, but the moment you enter the hallways, the illusion dies: peeling wallpaper, stained carpets, and a musty/mildewy smell that should come with a lung health warning.

Our room was a time capsule of disappointment — ripped bedding, ancient sagging mattresses, tiny sad pillows, dim lighting, and a heater controlled by a dial like a 1970s science experiment. The bathroom? A horror scene featuring thick green timescale and “non-slip” circles that absolutely do slip.

The water park felt borderline unsafe: rusty supports, shaking slides, missing bulbs, and of course, no working hot tub. Even entering the building was a challenge since the main sliding doors don’t work, forcing guests to squeeze through one door — good luck if you use mobility aids.

Communication was difficult, maintenance was nonexistent, and the entire place needs a renovation, a deep clean, and maybe an exorcism. Until then, I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys comfort, safety… or breathing.

Great parking, mall very close, McDonald’s, Montana’s across the street.

Room seemed clean, but I came home with a couple of carpet bugs in my clothes. I've never had those before and I think they came from the couch I had my clothes drapped over during my stay.

Complementary breakfast was good. I don't know the name of the blonde lady who was serving breakfast, but she is wonderful. She was so helpful, friendly, and always had a smile to share with me.

The gym is more like a dungeon and is located in the basement. One little light on. There was one functioning elliptical and stairmaster. There was three non-functioning exercise bikes without power cords and a broken treadmill that had an out of order cone on it. The one tv in there also said no signal.

The pool was clean, but small. If a family of three or four decide to get into the pool, your swim is over. You have to swim during off-hours.

There are no tables and chairs to sit at in the lobby if you want somewhere to work or just lounge outside of your room.

It's an aging hotel with worn out tvs and furniture. It wasn't a terrible time, but it was an average experience and you can find better value for less at newer locations. I won't stay here again.
