What a gigantic disappointment. This hotel seems to have been last renovated on the 1980s. It is shabby, dirty, run down and completely outdated. The room is ho-hum . The bedroom chairs were so worn that the arms actually had holes in the fabric, and rubbed in dirt all over the chairs, the bathroom was tiny and really cheaply made. The bed super uncomfortable. Th TV remote control was so cheap that we could not even read the letters on it. The tv dido not work for the 2 nights we were there. The phone charging contraption near the bed never worked. It had 2 charger cords each 5 inches long. Neither worked and the instructions for the silly device were written in microscopic letters , impossible to read and in german. The staff is hopeless and unhelpful. This entire place needs a major major renovation. It is like staying in a 1985 hotel on the 21st century . Frustrating and awful .

However, rooms need and upgrade, tiny fridges, not many minibar or snack items, very small shower for a deluxe room. Also, despite there being many available tables, the constant waiting at breakfast does not help.

The hotel is beautiful in a fantastic area near Brandenburg Gate. My room was very comfortable. The lobby restaurant and outdoor restaurant offer good options but are both very expensive. There is a breakfast buffet that has a multitude of options. The staff are responsive and attentive. I didn’t realize that when I booked my room I would be in a section of the hotel that is quite far away from the main hotel section. They have different elevators to access the pool requiring me to walk long passages in never ending hallways. This was actually quite stressful for me. I did have staff members go out of their way to help me so I appreciate that. If you’re up for a splurge and don’t mind spending a lot of money the location can’t be beat.

Hotel is well situated and we were able to walk to all historic and sightseeing places. It is only a few minutes walk from the Parliament and 20 minutes walk from Checkpoint Charlie. KA DE WE store is also not very far. It is 50 minutes walk or a 10 minute taxi drive. It is a pleasant walk , most of it through the Tiergarten. The hotel is a 5 star hotel. There are many good dining options nearby.

The stay at the Adlon was a real treat. We took my mum for her birthday, and she absolutely loved it. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the tea time in the afternoon and the breakfast buffet. The hotel location is unbeatable and feels very safe. You can easily sightsee and go to restaurants within short walking distance.

Our room was not ready so they moved us to a different room - quite sure not at the same level we paid for. Front desk staff is very pleasant although not overly quick. Long lines to check in, no follow up from front desk on a water delivery. Bellmen were wonderful! Beds are very firm and pillows are soft (terribly soft)! Bathroom is the size of a closet. Would not stay there again if I were to return to Berlin.

This was our 4th stay at the Adlon and it never disappoints. The concierge service is fantastic as is all the staff. My husband had a minor medical issue and staff found a doctor within the hour and the concierge picked up the meds for us. The room was well appointed with a view of the unter den linden - including the Brandenburg Gate. Our favorite hotel in Berlin.

Check-in was a nice welcome, although as we were early one room wasn't ready. No mention of upgrade, despite my top level of expedia loyalty. No probs, though.
The room was fairly average, despite paying for third best option. Two single beds instead of the requested king bed.
The room keys are pathetic. Someone on a 'green crusade' has decided to make the room keys these thin cardboard type things that soon get ruined or soaked if in a damp roibe. They need to go back to plastic room key cards and forget the silly green climate saving options.
The spa at the hotel opened again a few months ago. The steam room is excellent.
The restaurant on ground floor in the hotel is good food and service. Breakfast is on mezzenine floor - it is a substantial offering. Good service.
The bar is in the main lobby area. It gives the hotel a more homely feel.

There was no vip treatment at all. Check in we had to wait till 2.38 to get room instead of 3 pm although we arrived at 11.15 am and we asked if possible to get room earlier. Upon arrival i asked to check out at 3 pm if possible was told they will put a note but i have to check the next day.the next day was told to check the day of departure and finally was told this was not possible. Didn’t see any vip treatment. Hotel is wonderful, personnel is experienced but it depends to whom you will have the luck to talk to. They are all very polite but some are quite tired and it shows. Especially at concierge where the head concierge is amazing , some others leave much to be desired.

We moved from Berlin to Vienna (Ritz Carlton) and you could not even start to compare Ritz Carlton to Adlon Kempinski. It’s like moving from luxury hotel environment to Holiday Inn. The property needs a guest room renovation. Our room had a very worn chair with black wear marks on the arms. The shower, with the door closed, flooded the bathroom floor, every time you showered. The room controls were only in German. As the premier hotel in Berlin with a famous reputation that gets lots of international guests, I would’ve expected the switches to have symbols understood by someone who doesn’t speak German. The thermostat was locked to a maximum 22 degrees.
The staff were very friendly but service was spotty. The front desk forgot to give the Bellman our luggage tags so we had to phone for our luggage on arrival. The service in the brasserie was generally poor although the staff were always very friendly. We had to flag down staff to have orders taken and pay in the end. The person delivering the starters didn’t know who had what, and when the main courses arrived one was not ours, and the second one was not prepared as requested. We assume that the person picked up the wrong order in the kitchen because they corrected the issue quickly. The staff were either under trained or the restaurant understaffed.
The person checking us out was very responsive and took note of what I had to say after she asked about our stay. She was the most interested staff member.
If there had only been one thing, I would not say anything, but the combination of issues, albeit none of them large, is concerning given the Adlon’s reputation. Disappointing stay.

Receptionist forgot to pass down our room number to the bellhop. The room phone was also not working, so after waiting for an hour, I had to go down to look for our luggage.
2nd day morning, I found my phone was not charged because the outlet was not working (hence the room phone). The staff were helpful and fixed the issue quickly. But two incidents in a row are not what I expected from a kempinski.

Steps from the historic Brandenburg gate, the Adlon hotel has impeccable service. The rooms are spacious and clean, but do need a bit of updating. The Brasserie offers a great place to grab a bite, people watch or enjoy a nice cold drink. Will definitely come back here.

This is an historic hotel, the first to bring real glamour to East Berlin after the wall fell. It remains a glorious place to stay, with a superb staff.

The room was nice with plenty of plugs. The staff was friendly and offered options for watching the football match.
The shower was small without a door so it was difficult to use. The AC was set at 17.5 but the room was very warm so we had to sleep without covers at night. There is a lot of construction in the area so it was also noisy.

I booked a junior suite for 4 days.They gave me a suite which was like a sauna with NO A/C and very loud.I had to negotiate to move to another room.Most of staff was NOT well trained.Unacceptable way of handling my problem.
