I had a very pleasant stay at the Radisson Hotel, Shimla. The staff were exceptionally polite and always eager to help. The rooms were clean, and the food was good. However, the bathroom felt a bit outdated and could use an upgrade. Overall, I was happy with my stay and would recommend this hotel.

Disappointing stay, avoid for sure

Our stay at the Radisson was really disappointing. While there were some minor issues like the room was stinking when we went in, there a few major issues 1) The floor was very very slippery and the rug didn't cover the whole area, so we fell/almost fell multiple times 2) The base of our Kettle in our room was FILLED with Fungus.
When I then called to inform them, there was no apology from the manager, and he was just like: we'll change your room if thats what you want. I was really frustrated with his answer.
The front desk staff and the service staff were courteous and nice, but the overall experience was very disappointing.

It was very conveniently located for my purpose. My room was nice and had a fabulous view. The food in the cafe was also very nice with excellent service. The only downside of staying there was getting around to my room or lobby, having to use two elevators, etc. A little confusing but it worked out overall.

First time to Shimla and had a blast! This property was located about 1 km from the Ridge, we alternated walking the 1km, and during traffic times taking the complimentary shuttle. Great access to the local landmark. The hotel itself was pristine. The check in process was the easiest and most smooth I have ever experienced in India, the staff greeted us promptly and had us relax in their beautiful lobby overlooking the valley while they completed the paperwork. For a town lacking in space, the Radisson property was quite grand. Very spacious and beautifully designed resort. We enjoyed the lavish breakfast buffet, the staff was attentive and kind. Would head out for an adventure, and then return to relax at the pool and hang out to play billiards. In the evening the hotel gave delicious pastries, we felt so at home. The room was beautifully decorated and very thought out. Honestly reading reviews of hotels in Shimla it was hard to pick one, but this property and its' staff definitely shined. Highly recommend to any global traveller used to elegance and comfort.

We enjoyed our stay at Radisson, Shimla. only sore point was AC/Heating system in the rooms which was on Heating mode with temp in the room going up to 26 degrees and making it very uncomfortable while sleeping. this was the case in both the rooms we had booked. Otherwise all the other areas hotel was very comfortable.

We, 4 friends, had a night stay at this property and it was a lovely experience, seeing the location of the property (just 7 minutes from the mall road via drive) it was quite convenient. Rooms are nice spacious, breakfast menu is widespread plus delicious food just fewer options in Nonvegetarian food. Also, their restaurant has a nice valley view where we were able to just enjoy the sun and chill. Even the staff was quite helpful with quick service. They had all covid safety measures, you will see Sanitizers everywhere in the hotel which is a good thing and our rooms also had some masks provided. I'd love to visit your hotel again after having a good relaxing stay!

The staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were exceptional and helpful. The condition of the room wasn’t bad and great choice of breakfast . The only bad points were there are too many steps going up to the lobby and car park area from the rooms which is not at all ideal, and the rooms are not heated well, it was very cold and wish the central heating would have worked better.

Getaway in Shimla

There are 3 buildings which comprise this hotel. The first is under renovations. We were initially placed in an ‘old’ room, which was clean and comfortable, but was not the decor we anticipated nor did it have valley views which was the main reason we chose this hotel. Unfortunately we did not realize this until a few hours after check in because clouds were so thick on our arrival. When we expressed our disappointment at not getting the view, we were told we had been ‘upgraded’ and there were no other rooms available until the following day. A few minutes after returning to our room, the front desk supervisor came and told us he had rearranged things to give us the room with a view which we had booked. I’m fairly certain we were never ‘upgraded’ and this was just a line, but they were quite friendly and fixed things in the end, so they still get my stamp of approval.

Breakfast and hotel restaurant was good, not great.

We had spa services. These were nice, but Not at all polished. The girls seemed like they weren’t sure what to do next, they were whispering to each other through all of the services including the couples massage , and they left the room multiple times to get a forgotten object, or to take a phone call. It was clear that the spa manager was trying to increase quality and they were really trying to give 5 star services. For the price, it was well worth it?

Good choice for a stay in Shimla

The location is really nice, a good view over the valley and the Ridge. It's a short walk (approx 15 mins) to the Mall Road where there are many restaurants. Only downside was not being able to switch off the light in the wardrobe without removing the key card. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with an early check in.

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Simla.It is however in the middle of refurbishment so one block is out if use.The Gym consisted of only 2 pieces of equipment and was located in an area outside this needs improving.The restaurant staff were outstanding and I would like to mention the following people Suresh our waiter was very attentive and really helped us with our needs.The Chef Rajeev was also excellent.Special thanks to 2 other waiters Ravindrar and Kehar

Not upto mark as expected from a brand like radisson, few small discomforts faced while stay were offers a twin shared room instead of king size bed which was real discomfort, staff was a little less trained to maintain hotel silence and not to forget dining area was way to far to make effort to go n eat ;)
Later got a good room on several request which was way better and comfortable.

Got stuck here during one of the biggest snowfalls in 25 years (21 inches). It was the best place to be stuck in! Super helpful and courteous staff. Definitely get a massage at their spa.

Booked this hotel because of the Radisson reputation. Extremely disappointing and far below expectations. The carpets were dirty and tattered, there were mattresses and sheets placed on the corridors permanently, the room key did not work for two days causing considerable inconvenience, the dining room was located in another block quite some distance and several stairs down and there were no facilities for the disabled.
The heating in the rooms did not work properly.
Perhaps the only redeeming feature was that the staff were very helpful and tried to do their best in extremely difficult circumstances.
It was very pricey and certainly, not good value.

the hotel staff were very friendly but did not understand english. they had to consult someone else even if we asked them simple questions abot -how far is the mall. etc. On the first day, they shut off the boilers to save money. it took 30 mins for wate to get hot enough to bathe. The food was good.

The front desk allowed some foreign nationals to slyly take off with the hotel car we booked. The friver did not bother to check with the front desk who had booked the car. we were delayed for 45 mins

Quality Hotel in Shimla but a bit starchy

with the understanding that we might not have stayed during high season we felt firstly the following:

Having not been to Shilma or surrounding area previously it is difficult to appreciate the position of the hotel with respect to the landmarks and main Mall area. Its quite a tough uphill slog to get to the Mall in the first instance without taking into account the up and downhill waliking you will do when in Shimla. The map provided by the hotel was not very representative wrt distances nor location of steps. taxis generally from the station were reasonable and a good step might be for the hotel to offer customers a free shuttle for example upto the Mall. We are not all hymalayan hikers. The other point is that the cost of cars should really be aligned to local costs. From a local cab firm our trip from Shilma to catch the Delhi train at Kalka was only 2250 rupees. I would shudder to think what the hotel might hsve charged.

Hotel staff were courteous. Food was plentiful and good quality, although we didnt eat that much whilst we were there. It seemed that sometimes the staff outnumbered the guests and in an effort to be helpful and friendly you sometimes felt as though you were intruding or being watched.

No bar area apart from an outside terrace.

Room was good. Nice views over the valley and all the amenities you would expect.

Overall an enjoyable stay. We leave Shimla tired from the walking but with fond memories. Thank you.

A perfect hideaway

Our trip at the Radisson was amazing. The breakfast especially had tons of variety and perfect quality. The facilities in our room worked perfectly, the treats that were served in the evening was a nice gesture, the rooms were cleaned very well whenever we wanted, the employees were happy and helpful 24/7, and in general, the Radisson was the perfect stay! One suggestion, however, is to add pizza to the menu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-day stay. We were really taken care of, with a personal touch. All requests and queries were attended to promptly and professionally. The hotel staff was warm, friendly and welcoming. Restaurant staff were superbly trained and added to the experience. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and decorated with a small but stunning porch and lobby. There is much to discover among its various levels, including a really cute open air gym that overlooks the valley. Rooms are comfortable and cozy as you would expect from Radisson. The spa experience was good, but not great. And unfortunately the activity room was under renovation so we didn't have anything to keep us occupied on a rainy day. But overall, thoroughly enjoyed our extended weekend at the Radisson Shimla.

Radisson is always a safe bet

It was a pleasant stay at the hotel. Enjoyed the flag hoisting ceremony. The staff is friendly and always at your service. But the hotel needs to work on experiential travel. It is a comfortable 4 star hotel but lacks to give experience to it's guests

Things to be improved:
1) the hotel could not provide basic cold and fever medicine despite repeated request. My wife fell ill with cold. They should make available non prescription medicine. It made our stay very uncomfortable
2) They did not have a jacuzzi in their hotel
3) I had requested for a cake as it was my anniversary to surprise my wife which I was promised will be delivered in my room by 8 p.m.on day 1. But it never showed up.
4) There are filament heaters in the hotel. Which reduces the oxygen in the room. They should provide oil heaters instead.

Stay was overall comfortable in the deluxe room but it is nowhere near to 5 star standards. Bathroom is way too small and had stain marks on floor and walls which is not something expected from such a luxurious hotel . Food at restaurant is average for the price paid. All the staff is very helpful and the only good part . Free wifi is virtually useless and Airtel 3G is much better option . There is no complimentary drop to Mall Road which is a decent one km steep walk.

!0 minute walk to the Ridge and Bazaars. The hotel was excellent and the staff very accommodating. Very nice place for walking and I felt perfectly safe at all times. The whole Shimla experience was excellent with one major exception. Travelling from the Airport (Chandigarh) to Shimla is a 3.5 hour taxi journey from hell. No disrespect to the driver, but the roads are suicidal with people overtaking regularly on blind bends.

As per your on line charges we all ready pay for two adults and two children and below 5 year is free but when we reached the hotel they charge 1000 extra from me for 1 extra child up to 5 years and no extra bad arrange for me.
