I never got there because of the typhoon shut down all transportation from Hong Kong to Macau on that day. I called the hotel and they said they will refund the money but I need to call Expedia. So I call Expedia and get to talk to this on line robot and I was told Expedia will get back to me. Never heard back. So it’s not about the hotel. The rating applies to Expedia. Expedia please reply back to me. Thanks.

We enjoyed so much about staying in Hotel Golden Dragon. The staff were so friendly to let us feel welcome, the location was convenient to everywhere. We also could use the free shattle bus. There was a supermarket near by for us to purchase food, fruit, etc. Thanks.

A relatively short visit, but I was very happy with this hotel. Our taxi dropped us off actually behind hotel and there was some confusion where to find the entrance. The room was nice, staff courteous and the amenities great. The area was not too far from where we wanted to go. I especially liked the complimentary fruit basket. A nice touch!

Not a 4 star hotel. Very cold and dated rooms.

The room was absolutely freezing with no heating available.
We asked for a heater and they said all heaters were given out and they had none left leaving my wife and I shivering all night. Not a great experience.

Great Dragon Hotel next to Ferry

Macau was great, 5 minute walk from the ferry. 15-20 minute walk from all the main casinos. Staff very friendly and room was made perfectly. Amenities were great and large. Only disappointment was the pool which is was under construction until further notice.

Nice, but outdated.

Hotel is good, room is big but is outdated. 10-15 minute walk to the ferry terminal or wait for thier shuttle bus and also walking distance to Sands hotel casio where you can catch many of their shuttle bus to the Venetians and other area. There are few restaurants and small shop in the Surrounding area. Lobby and waiting area is small. When tour group comes in it get very crowded and crazy. Good value for the money.

my experience was not very pleasant . The room was alright, it wasn't very bad but the hotel staff was horrible. The staff front the check in desk didn't know how to smile. No emotion while talking to customers. It seems like they don't want us to be there. GiGi was one of the staff members that i really had a problem with.. Horrible service

Easy to find food and massage just below the hotel. 10mins walk to Sands casino!
15mins to Bronze Guangying.
Free coach to Venetian and City Of Dream from Sands! And from Venetian to Airport was less than 10mins and just less than SGD$7.
Need to improve on staff with beautiful smile ya.

Great hotel and perfect location.

The staff was very helpful especially when my wife needed to go to the hospital. The roon was very spacious. It even had a full size bathtub. The location was great, close to everything. I would have given it a perfect rating if the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the bed was as hard as the floor, but spacious enough for 2 people.The only other drawback was, there weren't enough English channels on tv. But i wouldn't hesitate going back there again.

Smoke room / Staff?

The room has some comfort. However, the room (even if is not smoking) has smoking smell and when you leave the hotel all your clothes smells like cigarette smoke. I checked out at 10AM. However, I left my bag in the luggage room and went for a walk. I came back at noon and asked if I could use the wifi, the answer was NO. Why? There's no reason, you just can't!
If you go to Macau I would recommend you to stay in an American brand hotel. I think that their service could be better...

Hotel shuttle bus did not picked up passengers at bus terminal

Usually Hotel shuttle bus parked their bus at each bus slot for all passengers to board & alight at bus terminal. But during this trip, we saw the shuttle bus alighted passengers outside the bus slot and did not drove in to the bus slot to pick up passengers.
He just drove off. We got to wait for another half an hour at the bus slot to the hotel.

The hotel itself was good, comfortable room and nice restaurant. Negatives to point out are the location which is a little far away from places of interest. The front desk staff aside English is not understood frequently by the staff but most alarming was the 'nightclub'. My partner and I wanted an evening drink so as there isn't a bar we went to pay a visit to the nightclub. It isn't a club for a drink, it's in essence a Brothel. They say its private karaoke but it was explained we would have a girl for an hour then could arrange for her to visit the hotel room. We made our excuses and left. I'm not a prude but for a westerner this hotels idea for a club is not mine. Not suitable for couples or those wanting an evening drink in their hotel as there is nowhere unless you want to have it in the brothel.

I stayed here for 2 nights. The location is good as it's close to the Port. But it is on the Macau side which isn't as popular. The room here is small. Its price is cheaper but there's not much going on around.

I recommend staying over at Tampa for more fun. If you're into historic stuff then stay here.

The staff was very helpful in booking ferry and show tickets, and providing directions to various places. The hotel is in a good location just opposite to the Sands and within 5 minutes walk from the ferry pier-Macau central flyover.
The hotel is actually quite good but has long queues for check-in and, at the check out they call the room service to make sure you have not taken anything from the room... perhaps the LCD TV!
It is not a family hotel as it is in a mainly gambling area, but is a good base camp if you are visiting central Macau, the fishermans' wharf and the old town. If you are traveling with the family, your best place in Macau is either the Holiday Inn or the Conrad both at Cotai Strip (opposite to the Venetian), any other hotel may not be the right place where to move around with children in this City.

When I arrived in front of the hotel. I got out of the Taxi and unloaded my bags from the trunk of the taxi. I was setting the bags on the curb when the security/doorman closed the door to the taxi and the taxi driver drove off. I yelled to the security/doorman that I still had something inside the taxi and to stop the taxi. The security man just pointed to the front entrance of the hotel and said go inside. I then yelled loader to stop the taxi there something inside the taxi. He again pointed to the front desk. A second security man was further down the sidewalk and I yelled for him to stop the taxi, he looked at the other security man and walked towards us pointing at the entrance of the hotel As he got closer I said again there was still something in the taxi. He then said go to the front desk and have them call the taxi company. At the front desk I explained that the taxi drove off with some of my belonging and the lady at the front desk kept trying to get me to check in. While I was continuing to explain that the taxi drove off with some of my things a second lady came and wrote down three number for me to call once in my room to the taxi company. I called with no success in getting my things back..

Better than expected rooms. Carpet needs cleaning or changing. All the staff are friendly and helpful. When I came back to the room late afternoon, housekeeping had cleaned the room but the toilet was \"used/soiled and not flushed\". The management was quick to investigate but was unable to give any answer. Thankfully nothing was missing from the room. Somehow, the negative experience was cancelled out by the quick positive response.

The room was comfortable. Carpet / Sofa needs cleaning / replacing. Unfortunately, when I came back in the late afternoon, the toilet bowl was used and not flushed. There was dung. Housekeeping had already 'cleaned' the room. The management did respond quickly and positively but was not able to detect any illegal entry to the room. Still a mystery.

Had a fine experience!

Its very near to the Ferry terminal. So, I walked to the hotel easily from the ferry terminal. It is at a walk-able distance (2 miles) to many casinos. They also have a casino in the hotel (very limited tables, games and services though). There is a massive Sauna service that is very popular amongst visitors. Overall a conveniently located option.

Checkin and checkout was average. They are a busy bunch so it took longer than normal. If you want more attentive staff that can look after you, this is not the best option. I reached at 10.15 AM for the breakfast and they close around 10.30 AM. They practically rushed me to fill my plate and eat the pre-cooked eggs as they won't make new omelette as it's close to the buffet closing time. Overall, a bad experience in breakfast. I guess mostly people are there to spend time in casinos so no one actually bothers about the breakfast (unfortunately for me, I did). Their gym was pretty small had 2 tread mills (enough for me :D). Ran well and the staff was friendly. The swimming pool was okay not big... didn't get time to check out. Their cafe / restaurant had many non-vegetarian food options. I enjoyed a spaghetti pasta and a club sandwich. There was an Indian restaurant just behind the hotel and the hotel restaurant was pretty small but they serve decent Indian food. So being an Indian, I liked it.

Their wifi service was good. Was able to get good speed and connect multiple devices. The hotel was overall clean and well decorated.

Close to MGM, Wynn, n StarWorld Hotel. You have to cross the street to get into their free shuttle bus if you come from Hongkong with Ferry.
From Hotel,they have a direct shuttle bus to border gate between Macau and China. Overall,the room is clean but the bed is a bit small for Couple. Free wifi at room.

THE CHINESE SPEAKING STAFF ARE OK EXCEPT THEY ARE NOT GD AT CHECKING IN PROCEDURE IF YOUR BOOKING IS ONLINE, HOWEVER THERE IS A GD PHILIPINO LADY STAFF WHO IS GD AND CAN SPEAK MANY OTHER LANGUAGES. THE HOTEL IS GD IN EVERY EXCEPT THEY DON'T PROVIDED BUSES TO THE AIRPORT. YOU CAN TAKE A DIRECT BUS TO THE AIRPORT BUT DURING THE MORNING HRS IT IS ALWAYS FULL AS MANY PEOPLES TAKE THE BUS TO THE AIRPORT FOR WORKS. THERE IS ALSO NO CONNECTING FREE SHUTTLE BUSES FROM OTHER CASINOS TO THE AIRPORT.

Convenient location for HK-Macau travel

I booked this hotel because it was within a short walk of the ferry terminal (I don't like taking taxis if I can avoid it). There is a raised walkway from the 1st floor of the Terminal building that is serviced by a lift and escalators, so fine to negotiate with a suitcase on wheels. The area near the Terminal also provides an interesting contrast to the plush upmarket area of the centre of Macau.
The hotel hosts entertainment typical of Macau if you're into that kind of thing, but the highlight for me was walking from the hotel to the Maritime Museum, back through the older parts of Macau and the lively centre, down to the waterfront and back to the hotel, refuelling with food and drink and meeting people on the way.
The hotel room was very comfortable, which encouraged me to sit at the desk and write a bunch of postcards. I had a restful sleep there too.

The Hotel is nearby at Ferry Terminal, but is terrible the location and the around is dirty and evil aspect, really not recommend for foreign tourist, the food on the hotel restaurant is only Chinese food and not offer nothing another options and the service is slow.

The rooms are very noisy by the construction that has nearby.

The bus service we could not use because not was available.

The pool service isn't available from august 2013.

The hotel is situated very near to the Ferry Terminal (~5 min walk), where you can take the shuttle buses to get into the city area (Senado Square, Wynn Hotel etc). There are a few nearby convenient shops to buy water, drinks, snacks etc. The staffs were very polite and helpful. However, the bed is very hard. So if you're not someone who likes hard bed, it will be quite difficult to sleep.

The hotel staff were great but the shuttle bus driver was very rude to us. He was screaming when we did not get out of the bus right away.
The room we had was nice and clean except for plywood hard beds. I liked that they had nonsmoking floors in the hotel.
the hotel was conveniently located when you need to need to walk to to the ferry terminal. You can catch other shuttle buses to other hotels/casinos at the ferry terminal. The hotel shuttle bus schedule was not so reliable.
We checked out after a day and the hotel stored our luggages while we toured the city before we went back to Hongkong in the evening. Very convenient.

Rooms are in need of renovation, very old and very hard beds. Rooms are not clean, definitely not a place for kids or older people or anyone with compromised health. Location is good and staff okay but not a place I will stay again. There are many other better hotels in comparable locations for the same cost. Was my first visit and my last.

There are better hotel and restaurant choices.

The Hotel Golden Dragon is located at the eastern end of the Casino strip, on Rua de Malaca, adjacent to the Fisherman's Wharf, and the Macau ferry terminal. By all appearances it seemed like a nice, modern hotel. The rooms are small by western standards, but beds and bathroom appeared very clean. The mattresses are rock hard. This was an unpleasant surprize for my six day stay. My back hurt every morning, and it was extremely uncomfortable to try sleeping on my side. The carpet was very dirty and was in desperate need of a steam cleaning. The upholstery covering the chairs looked well worn and dirty from years of use, and I made sure to use the complimentary flip-flops when I had my shoes off. The hotel has it's own Casino, and Cabaret, and is a drop-off point for the numerous mainland China tour buses. Expect to find shopping centers on the adjacent blocks which cater excusively to the mainland chinese visitors, mostly jewelry and electronics stores. There is only Mandarin chinese language being spoken in these areas. Any Portuguese businesses have left long ago. I was surprized when I was able to converse in English with the staff at the Macau Wine and Gran Prix Museum. The better food, grocery and pharmacy choices were found several blocks away on Rua de Roma, and Rua de Londres for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You have to use the under street tunnel crossings to get to the other side of avenues.

The room did not have wi-fi which should be commonplace at major hotels. The rooms are somewhat overpriced. There is some good amenities here. There is no convenient sundry or grocery store nearby.

Worst hotel ever!!!!

Don't waste money on this hotel. It claims to be a 4 star hotel but the only thing 4 star about the place is the facade. The rooms are ragged and the carpets stained. The beds are hard as rocks. You can't charge anything to your room without being hounded for a deposit even when you leave your credit card information at check-in for charges. The food is TERRIBLE! Worse buffet and restaurants of our entire HK/Macau trip. Most of the staff cannot speak english. You have to ask for someone who speaks english to be sure the person you are speaking to understands because they will stand there and pretend to understand while you speak only to go and ask someone else to come and listen to you after you are doing explaining everything. I'm sure this is a cultural thing (not wanting to be rude and interrupt) but save yourself some time and ask before you start to explain anything so you don't have to waste time explaining everything all over again. There are so many other hotels nearby; do yourself a favor and choose one of them.
