Absolutely loved this hotel, wish we had more time here. Outstanding service, pleasant staff and fantastic surroundings. Our room overlooked the ocean and it was lovely to watch the monkeys bounding on the balcony and the properties.
The bathroom had an open air concept and you
could look at the stars while you shower. The hotel is built sympathetically to the surroundings. Good choices for breakfast and dinner buffets. Great base for Yala safari. Even with early starts you could request a packed breakfast.
Pool area is lovely and we enjoyed drinks at the swim up bar. Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

What a beautiful hotel / resort. To our surprise the beach water is unsafe for swimming but the pool makes up for it and then some. Beautiful grounds, had an elephant at the reception on the first morning before leaving for our safari. The buffet has a huge selection, also à la carte possibilities. We did a couples spa package and that was also great and not ridiculously priced. The only sad thing and this is no reflection on the hotel is that if you are going to Yala to see leopards you odds or very slim. There are way too many jeeps that even if a leopard was spotted you would probably not see it.

Impressed with the quality of the buffet food. A lot of variety. Espresso machine was part of the breakfast buffet. Bathroom was impressive, large area and open, but covered with a roof. We loved it. No mosquitos seen, so a relief. Very happy with every aspect of service. Large, glass, water bottles in the room for drinking. Great location for the safari, very short drive away. Saw an elephant outside the room in the evening. Recommend the hotel and visit again on another visit.

we were lucky enough to see an elephant walk through the resort.
the resort organised our safari to Yala and its a great experience the driver/guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience.
we also did the dune dining experience which was magical and the team made it so special.
would recommend this resort and would come back here again

Far from 5 star. An average 4 star hotel at best. Good location for Yala but thats it. Nice beach and great pool. Rooms are tired, dull, boring, dirty and the smell from the bathroom is very very unpleasant. Couldn't open the patio door due to tatty rug on floor. Air con dripped onto wall mounted tv and floor. Damp patches on walls. Not great. Food in restaurants good, but waited over an hour for food in fine dining when only two tables. Don't bother with the spa, awful experience. The therapists were as bored as I was with a lacklustre rub down. Industrial air con made sure we had no chance to relax. No great. Must be better places

We stayed at Jetwing Yala for three nights and had an amazing experience overall. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stunning pool that’s perfect for cooling off in the heat. Even though Yala National Park was closed for the first couple of days, it was still lovely to relax around the hotel and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

The location is incredible, right on the beach. You can even join an early morning walk with the lifeguard, which was such a nice touch. The staff throughout the hotel were genuinely lovely and always happy to help.

One of the absolute highlights was the wildlife. A bull elephant visited the hotel twice during our stay once at night and once in the morning which was honestly the best experience ever. The naturalists were always present, making sure everyone was safe, answering questions, and sharing so much knowledge.

We did a half-day guided safari organised by the hotel and would definitely recommend going with a guide. Even though we didn’t see a leopard, the naturalists and jeep drivers were so dedicated and made the experience amazing. We saw baby elephants, crocodiles, deer, and even a sloth bear. They even set off early so we were at the front of the queue entering the park.

The food experience was mixed. For the first couple of nights breakfast and dinner were à la carte, and the dishes were exceptional. Later it changed to a buffet, which personally I don’t enjoy as much, as it feels a bit more rushed and less relaxed. Not sure why the

Outstanding hotel! Loved everything about it. We were visiting for 1 night to do the safari (which was also fab) but wished we stayed another night just to chillax!! Was nicely surprised that their dining prices were no more expensive (in fact cheaper in some cases) than other equivalent properties in Sri Lanka given the remoteness & no other options! Food & staff were great. Lovely pool. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful property. We loved our room, verandah and open air shower. The bar and buffet dining was excellent. Staff was extremely courteous and professional. During our stay there it rained and we had rooms furthest from the lobby area. Parts of the walk to our room were unprotected from the rain and the walkways were quite wet and slippery despite attempts by the staff to mop. Further protection from adverse weather conditions would be appreciated. Overall, loved our stay at this property and would highly recommend to others.

From the start the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Easy check in and shown to our beach view room. Room was very clean and spacious. Large shower room and deck area were great.
Extensive food options avaialble and all that we had were very tasty.
Other facilities like pool and gym appeared inviting, although we only had 2 nights and so were unable to make use, as we had trips planned.

The hotel is spacious and very clean. The buffet was ok but not worth the price. We found great food at the a la carte restaurant fir half the price. The pool is excellent for lap swimmers. At night occasionally elephants come to the pool and other animals. Lots and lots of monkeys but they did not bother us at all.

The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The food is very good with an extensive breakfast buffet, cooked by very friendly chefs to order. They will pack up a picnic if you’re going into the Park early. The swimming pool is desperately in need of repair as there are many missing tiles and the flagstones around it wobble when walked on.

We absolutely loved the hotel and the ambience, especially how it's blended into the nature. It's lovely to see the monkeys, birds, lizards running around. We took the safari the hotel arranged and it was amazing. However, the dinner buffet was disappointing and overpriced. For the second evening we had to drive out for 30 minutes to the nearby town Tissa to eat out. The service is lacking and it's not 5-star hotel standard. The staff were more friendly to the locals than foreigners. We felt slight judgement from them too. They weren't keen to offer help or service. We had to ask and keep asking. Although for what we asked we got the service needed. Overall we are happy with the stay.

Overall good with so much potential

The place is so lovely with a very nice pool and beach access. So much potential and so near the safari. However, I had some mishaps which might be isolated to me. The porters accidentally broke my Samsonite luggage handle, no towels in the room and called for ice twice but wasn't sent. Other than these, I would recommend them highly. Oh yes, toilet smelt slightly mouldy.

Food selection was reasonable and the chef was nice and very careful to accommodate my spouse’s dietary restrictions (food allergy). This was the fourth hotel I stayed in in Sri Lanka, and unfortunately was a let down in a number of respects. My initial impression was positive as the property is large, (seemed) peaceful and has lovely views. While being checked into my room I was a bit surprised about being asked if I needed to know how to use the facilities in the room. Of course I would! The air con had no remote control and was hidden in the corner and I wouldn’t have found the controller had I not asked. The woman showing me in seemed sullen and miserable. Again, initial impressions of the room were quite good - very large and spacious with a ginormous bathroom. After that I noticed a few minor inconveniences - hardly any plug sockets, room safe didn’t work and the bedding was really uncomfortable. The sheet was too small for the bed and was fitted over a slippery mattress protector. Later that night I found myself slipping and sliding around a lot, which contributed in part to two very bad nights’ sleep. First morning I woke early to go on safari and the packed breakfast was adequate although the bread was stale and I couldn’t eat most of what was in the box as it had cakes/croissants etc. and I can’t eat anything containing dairy. After the safari I went to the pool. Very quiet and peaceful but hard to relax as there are little shaded areas and the loungers don’t have cushions and so are really uncomfortable. I was going to order a drink but asked for the menu and asked for about ten minutes to cons

Truly one of the best days of my life was at this hotel. The location and views are a dream and the buffet breakfast was one of the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. I spent the day at the pool, in the spa, drinking a mojito on the beach front, and enjoying the views. They helped me arrange a safari to Yala which was wonderful. A must stay on any trip to Sri Lanka! The only downside was the dirt road leading to the hotel is in really banged up condition so was a bit hard on the car that dropped me off, but I was told the hotel is on a national park land so it can't be paved. So not really their fault.

Pleasantly surprised to have this experience at a Hotel that is situated 10 minutes away from a Wildlife park. The hotel is in very good condition, large rooms with modern amenities and spacious washrooms (Loved the waterfall pipe). Food quality was amazing and we got all the usuals for a hearty breakfast. The beach is lovely, the pool is well maintained and the staff are immaculate. Gym and Spa are well maintained. Lots of activities for kids. The Turtle hatchery they've got on the beach was a definite plus to our experience. And all the wildlife, very safe, but so much to see.

Amazing hotel. Loved everything about it. Staff were super nice. Wildlife was great - we saw capuchin monkeys, wild pigs, elephans just on the hotel premises. Pool and private beach made it even more perfect. The only bad thing is was the very slow service in the restaurant during dinner time. Other than that the hotel is 10/10.

The whole family enjoyed the stay. Our kids loved the pool and access to the beach. Will definitely give 5 out of 5 stars on attentive staff, cleanliness, comfort.
4 out of 5 on dining.
My biggest complaint was I tried to reserve a safari jeep through the hotel for the Yala safari tour and the hotel was going to charge more than USD 100 per adult for the jeep because we were non-Sri Lankan. This is unacceptable. I directly spoke with a local safari tour company and arranged a safari keep + tour guide for SLR 5000, which is equivalent to USD 25 for the whole family. It is unfortunate when a reputed hotel practices that type of price gouging behavior.

Amazing property surrounded by Wildlife. The pool is huge and the beach is beautiful. Food was excellent!! We enjoyed everything we ate at the restaurants. The buffet was full of great options and all the food was really tasty. The restaurant staff were always checking that we were happy with everything and were happy to chat.

Our final night saw an Elephant visit for a drink which just topped off our stay.

One of the higher quality hotels near to Yala National Park but very expensive and although it was very comfortable I felt that it was overpriced. Staff training needs to be improved eg bar staff did not appear to measure spirits accurately when 3 were ordered one was half the size of the other 2, this was corrected when pointed out but should never have happened in the first place. Food could also be improved buffet was inferior to other hotelsthat were cheaper that we have stayed at while in Sri Lanka. Overall I felt that this hotel was a touch of style over substance and that there was definitely room for improvement.

I didn’t like the service at all. The people at the check in area were extremely rude and not professional. They don’t greet guests, they stay at the phone or talking to their colleagues. I brought a third guest and I was clear on that, yet they made me feel like I am stealing something from them. Also, it says in the policy that extra charges for extra person around 17 USD, they first asked me to cancel my reservation and book again and when I refused, they asked me to pay 30 USD!!!!!! This is so diopponting! he smell of bathrooms were bad... the environment made me feel unsafe, the way to the beach was scary!! This is difeneteley a 3 star hotel for sure not a 4.7 hotel...

Solid & dependable good value choice in Yala Park

Located in actual Yala Park itself, a good base from which to see the animals in the park. We booked a safari tour independently rather than use the services provided by the hotel. This allowed us our own vehicle to go out for as long as we wanted. Staff very attentive and food solid. Difficult to find at night on arrival due to poor signage so make sure, if you're going with an independent driver, that you know exactly where it is as it is off the main road down an unpaved track!

Best place from which to launch your safari

We booked based on reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with the rooms and facilities. Our tour driver arranged the safari in a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a raised seated platform that set off from the hotels at 6am. The hotel provided a packed sandwich breakfast.
We had booked a suite which was large and lovely and comfortable. You could step out into the garden and walk to the pool.
Bar staff were friendly. Food was a disappointment. All the buffet food was insipid. We tried the A La Carte dining the next day. My wife's food was ok. My crab was off and caused an uncomfortable night.
Housekeeping staff should be trained to spot items requiring maintenance - the curtains has come off the tracks at the ends and must have been noticed when they opened them to service the room. Some things in the bathroom needed attention.

Amazing location and beautiful property and great it is a eco friendly resort. You would only stay here if wanting to visit Yala national park and go on 'safari'.
Unfortunately part of the park was closed by the time we arrived for the dry season which the hotel didnt notify me about - I wouldn't have bothered if I had of known. The other section they keep open isnt worth it in my opinion and a waste of money if paying through hotel. We got our driver to organize for us instead which cost us half the price so wasn't so bad.

Everything was great and fabulous. We love the pool, food was excellent. Through hotel they arranged safari trip for us - I think it’s the best option really! No dodgy operator and we saw leopard and bear, amongst many other wild life. We will come back, everything exceed expectations.
Oh I forgot to mention, we are so impressed by their no plastic policy. Very very pleased with our stay there.

In a mix of environs, we are transported to a natural wildlife park, arid and dry, with cows, wild boars, rabbits, jumping monkeys and \"humping dogs\", throw in Cape Cod's sand dunes so fine and the Indian Ocean so rough and you've now got our next Sri Lankan featured destination, the modern Jetwing Hotel & Tented Villas of Yala Park! Here, we Glamped in the Tented Villas (2xs the price of hotel rooms) for the experience and then transfer into the hotel rooms with our 4 kids ages 17, 15, 13 and 9 years of age!

Herbert Cooray, Jetwing's Founder, generous to a fault, was a loyal businessman to his clients, colleagues and staff. His motto through all the dark days & challenges of Sri Lanka coups, terrorism, and the big Tsunami in 2004 that wiped out over 30,000+ people plus 21K+ injured was to be a source of support to everyone, their families, to leave no debts unpaid, and when money was tight, a model for all, to take no salary.
