Stunning Views, But Completely Ruined by Poor Management

during checkout, Sabriye Hanım pressed us for the extra guest payment — even though we had asked multiple times for an extra bed and never received a response. Her tone was rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional.

She is running this beautiful place the management, particularly Sabriye Hanım, completely overshadowed it.

My wife reached out to her in advance via WhatsApp to arrange a small birthday surprise — just a simple dessert and message like other hotels graciously provided. Instead, we were sent a $130 sunset dinner setup not including food. When we clarified that we only wanted a small gesture, we received no response at all.

Upon arrival, rather than welcoming us, her first comment was questioning whether we booked for two or three guests. A close friend had surprised us in Turkey and joined us at check-in. We were immediately told we needed to pay $75 extra for the additional guest. We agreed, but their card machine wasn’t working.

The issues didn’t stop there:
    •    Wi-Fi never worked, and despite asking Sabriye Hanım multiple times, she ignored us. We had to ask a bartender for help, but it was never resolved.
    •    Room issues included non-working lights, which required us to be issued a new key, and a bathroom full of ants and bugs, which we didn’t even complain about.
    •    The hotel is poorly maintained considering we paid $320 per night — expensive by Turkish standards.

Zakros is a little slice of heaven. My wife and I came for our honeymoon and will always treasure our time there.

Waking up every morning to see the Mediterranean was a gift, as was the jacuzzi/bathtub on the balcony where we watched sunset over the sea each day. The staff is wonderful and almost too attentive. We came from the USA and they were able to accommodate us in English. The room itself, while not super luxurious, was perfect for our needs: a solid step above glamping but not a full resort. Not only were the breakfasts delicious, but the view was excellent, too. The pool is, surprisingly, a welcome addition, as well.

Be aware that Zakros is fairly isolated, which in some ways is a blessing but also makes it hard to see the rest of the area. The staff can help arrange for taxies and boats for transportation to other beaches and towns but they add up and require cash.

Overall, we almost want to keep Zakros as our secret so that it won't be too busy when we come back. We loved it there and can't wait until next time!

The wooden rooms smell damp. When I ask to upgrade the room, I was told that the room I asked is not available although it is shown available on Expedia. They offered me another room which costs almost USD 500 more. I had to leave and find somewhere else to stay as I could not stand the smell and they did not refund money

This place is a paradise. Most of the staff were very kind and accommodating. We loved dining with the cats! The menu was big enough that we were able to try a new dish every night. We feel our room was misrepresented by the photos when we booked. We would have booked a nicer room, but we hardly spent anytime in it. Every time we drove in and out of the property to tour the area, I was very nervous on the driveway’s incline. I would stay again in a nicer room and book a driving service.

Nothing was too much hassle for the staff, attention to detail from carrying your bags in to romantic petals laid out in most places. Very idyllic setting, beautiful sunset every night. Great pool and poolside area, good bar and good food in the restaurant. Lots of adorable kitties roaming around, great boat trip with Captain Ishmael, albeit a bit of a bumpy ride! Overall excellent stay and very relaxing, sad to be leaving

Nice hotel. Needs problem ironing out

The hotel has great views . The only thing we could do with would have been an information booklet about hotels dinning times , Menus , attractions , ways to get around ect . We found a bus at the top of the hill from the hotel which would take you all the way to fethiye if you wished . The road itself down to the hotel is very steep and in one spot very very rough and dangerous. The beauty of the hotel and views do over rule all the problems

Romantic hideaway

Difficult to get to so would recommend leave the car and get Taxi. Breathtakingly beautiful surroundings on several levels with lots of places to chill out and relax or watch a beautiful sunset. Very spacious and beautifully furnished rooms. Restaurant served the best food we had while traveling through Turkey. Staff were incredibly friendly.

We had an amazing stay at Zakros Lykia. We unfortunately only had the pleasure of staying for one night, but Ismail & his wife could not have been more accommodating. The property is just gorgeous - and the bungalows, food, & overall service wasn’t perfect. We’ll definitely be back!

A Little Peace of Heaven

Absolutely wonderful. Owners and staff very friendly. We felt so welcome and relaxed. Not a run of the mill hotel. Thank heavens. Beautiful gardens. Every meal was a delight. Went fishing and ate what we caught later ..... cooked by Smiley. Yasmina very attentive. Tommy the guard dog ..... unofficial cat chaser ..... was great entertainment. Views and sunsets out of this world. So peaceful. Have booked to go back next year already. Thankyou Zakros Hotel. 👏👏👏

Great Hotel for Honeymoon or a Romantic Trip

I am not sure where to begin, but I should say that this stay was one of the best of my life. All rooms have sea view and they are also super clean. Location is great; close to Oludeniz, Butterfly Valley and Kabak. In addition, Zakros Hotel has its own sea and it has even a waterfall. The view is magnificant from every point of the hotel. Staff are helpful and you can easily understand that they love what they are doing at the hotel.

Ms. Yasemin, Mr. Ismail and Mr. Burak and the whole staff,

I appreciate your effort to make our stay joyful and beautiful.

Hope to visit you soon again.

Lugar ótimo. Quarto horrível.

Com relação a área comum: incrível! Lindo lugar, paisagem maravilhosa. Quarto terrível! Cama toda deformada, toalhas e roupa de cama manchadas, ar condicionado velho e barulhento… Parece que se preocupam muito mais com o “day use” do que com a “hotelaria”. Porém, o preço que se paga é para dormir, então, não faz sentido. E ainda ficaram bravos pois coloquei essas informações na avaliação do Google. Percebe-se o quanto estão preocupados somente com dinheiro ou atrair visitantes em seus eventos, do que com os hóspedes. Uma pena, o local do “hotel” é maravilhoso, teria vontade de ir mais vezes… mas não sei se volto.

Otel ölüdenize yakın mesafede araç olduğu sürece sıkıntı değil otelin kahvaltısını verilen ücretlere göre yetersiz bulduk çok tekrara düşüşmüştü akşam yemeğine gelecek olursak ölüdeniz çarşıdakilere göre daha uygun fiyatlı ve daha lezzetliydi, odada ki mini barın ücretli olması biraz garibimize gitti onun dışında doğa ile iç içe güzel balayı oteli çalışanlarda çok cana yakınlardı

bellissimo resort nei pressi della Valle delle Farfalle a pochi minuti dalla localita Oludeniz.
Una ventina di camere con una vista stupenda sul mare per dei tramonti indimenticabili. Infinity pool magnifica, buono il ristorante e i servizi. torneremo sicuramente. consiglio di avere a disposizione un' automobile.

Hotel très joli en apparence mais il ne faut pas trop creuser.
Jaccuzzi à moitié cassé, pas d'eau chaude le soir : la réception n'est pas ouverte 24/24 il faut appeler un numero qui nous dit quil faut laisser couler l'eau 30 minutes pour qu'elle chauffe ou bien attendre le lendemain!!!
Le prix de la chambre n'est pas du tout justifié!!
dailleurs nous n'avons pas eu la chambre que nous avions réservé.
Le restaurant est très bon mais beaucoup de moustiques, le petit dejeuner est maigre et mieux vaut vous lever tot sinon il ne reste rien.
La route pour acceder a lhotel est vraiment dangereuse
Bref je ne recommande pas, nous avons 100 fois prefere le Loft à oludeniz

Local lindo, mas mal cuidado

Hotel num local lindíssimo, mas com estrutura mal conservada. Nos hospedamos no quarto Lilly, que era muito próximo ao mar. Algumas da lâmpadas não acendiam, a água quente nem sempre funcionava, e a torneira do chuveiro não mudava para a opção ducha por completo. Havia jardinagem mal feita, e isso aumentava a quantidade de mosquitos. Por último, aos serventes do hotel não eram oferecidas condições dignas de trabalho. Um camareiro estava varrendo com vassoura sem o cabo. Pedimos um ferro de passar roupa, levou mais de uma hora para ser entregue

Great location but awful service

The hotel itself is good, great location, nice rooms. But the service really needs to be improved: nobody to welcome us at the reception when we arrived at 16:00pm (we had to go to the restaurant to ask for our room). Then we asked for drinks at the pool bar… drinks arrived 45min later. And finally the breakfast (normally from 9:00 to 11:00am which is quite late) started at 09:20am. As we needed to leave early for personal reasons we informed the staff that we were in a rush… In the end we had to leave without taking our breakfast.

The hotel is immersed in an incredible atmosphere.
The sea in front, green and flowers everywhere.
The service is great, the restaurant is just in front of the sea with a perfect view. The buffet in the morning is rich and well prepared.
There are different private areas to enter the sea for a swim. All of them of astonishing blue colour.
The room we reserved, a villa itself, is nicely designed, with the swimming pool in it. Wonderful concept and view on all the area. We were just a bit sorry for the bathroom as it was not perfectly clean as a place like this beautifulness around would require.
Overall an incredible experience, highly recommended for couples who want an exclusive and classy romantic time together.

Otelin konumu çok iyi. Otelin her yerinde zaman geçirebiliyorsunuz. Çok güzel oturma yerleri var. Denize girmek biraz zor, zira derinlik 8 metreden başlıyor. Fakat havuz işinizi görecektir. Yemekler lezzetli. Garsonlar çok ilgili ve alakalı. Görevli tüm personel sizinle ilgileniyor. Akşamları daha güzel oluyor, manzara gün batımında muazzam. Kafa dinlemek, huzur bulmak istiyorsanız otel size aradığınızı verecektir.

- Die Aussicht war fabelhaft
- Die Zimmereinrichtungen waren top
- Der Pool war sehr schön

Contra/Cons:
- Unser Zimmer war nicht gut gereinigt, die Tische und Kommoden waren noch staubig
- Den Safe konnten wir leider nicht nutzen, obwohl wir den Personal darauf angesprochen hatten
- Die Lage des Hotels war sehr schrecklich, vor allem die Fahrt dahin war sehr sehr sehr anstrengend, die Straßen waren so steil das wir nicht einmal mit dem Auto gemütlich fahren konnten.
- Das Personal im Restaurant war unfreundlich
- Die Menükarten waren sehr überteuert, sie dachten wahrscheinlich das die Gäste gezwungen sind dort zu essen, da das Hotel sehr weit von der Stadt liegt
- Ich habe bis jetzt sehr viele Hotels besucht bei denen die Tees und Kaffees als Gastgeschenk kostenlos angeboten wurden, aber keiner war so auf Preise fixiert wie Zakros, hier musste ich für die Tees und Kaffes für 3 Tage um die 40 Euro zahlen! Ich würde keinem das Hotel empfehlen!!! NOT AGAIN!

The welcome is very poor with no information no smile, very bad english, and unfortunately that was not just for the welcome but for the whole stay. The place is nice but is not worth the price at all. They tried to charge us extra drinks and did not even apologize for that. I would not recommend at all.

Faralya’da konumlanmış gözlerden ve gürültüden uzak sessiz sakin ve doğayla iç içe bir mekan. Havuzunun manzarası mükemmel, yemekleri çok başarılı ve hizmet ile personelin tavrı - ilgisi - güler yüzü iyi. Ancak kumsal ile beraber denizde yüzmeye geliyorum diyenler için hayal kırıklığı olabilir zira denize dik bir iskeleden girilebiliyor ve dalgalı olduğu zaman yüzmek tehlikeli. Ama biz sakin zamanında denize de girdik, çok temiz ve güzeldi. Ayrıca otele son iniş yolu da acemi şoförler için zorlayıcı olabilir, dikkatli olunması gerekir diye düşünüyoruz. Biz genel olarak dinlenme ve kafa dinleme maksadıyla gittiğimiz tatilden çok memnun ve mutlu olarak ayrıldık.

Manzara harika. Çalışan arkadaşlar çok güler yüzlü. Denize girmek bu koydan zor akıntı çok güçlü bunu düşünerek gelin. Wifi de sorun vardı, odamızda çekmiyordu, priz yerleri sınırlı. Ama biz çok mutlu ayrıldık otelden... insanlar ilgili ve güler yüzlü. Odalar da güzel denilebilir. Dinlenmek için gelin. Bol bol fotoğraf çekin. Barış bey, e vedat beye, ismail beye selamlar

Paradise on earth

Zakros is an adult only hotel (kids from 12 years if age only), hosting couples and small groups of friends. The clientele is a very pleasant mix, predominantly modern Turkish, with a sprinkling of English, Russian, German and Chinese. It's topography is unsuitable for people with walking handicap and for children. 10 units of variable standard are offered to the guests. Some are rather simple, others are equipped with their own dipping pool. What they all share is functionality, charm and comfort.
Hotel grounds are beautifully sculptured into the rocky Lykian Coast and all units afford privacy in the surroundings of well kept gardens. There is a beautiful, big and deep infinity pool and a large, wooden platform also wirh sunbeds and direct access to the sea for swimming. All staff members provide an excellent service to the guests. Nothing is too much trouble, just ask... Thank you for the Mexican eggs for breakfast and the double Turkish coffee with milk, served in a mug, just like we've asked ;-)
Special mention goes to the Chef: Mr. Hassan, whose culinary excellence singlehandedly elevates a charming resort into the league of an exclusive culinary retreat. His dishes celebrate the simple fresh local ingredients with masterful twists of sophistication - cooked with love for food, but backed by years of experience as sous-chef.

Zakros Uğur-Selin Balayı.

Balayı çifti olarak eşimle bu oteli tercih ettik. 3 gece 4 gün Zakros’da vakit geçirdik. Girdiğimiz ilk günden, son ana kadar mükemmeldi. Bilal Bey, Bahadır Bey, Muhittin Bey ve Barış Beye özellikle teşekkür ediyoruz. Güleryüzleri ve ilgi alakalarıyla geçirdiğimiz günler efsaneydi. Yemekleri Pakistanlı aşçıdan dolayı efsaneydi. Manzarasi, odamizın konumu muhteşemdi. Gün batımını Zakros’da yaşamak çok güzeldi. Son gün arabamızın aküsü bitti. Özellikle Bilal Beyin kendi başına yukarı çıkıp takviye kablosu bulup, arabamızı çıkarmasından dolayı hakkını ödeyemeyiz. İnşallah tekrardan görüşmek dileğiyle. Herkese kesinlikle burayı öneriyoruz.

Huzur arayanlar için ideal

Çalışanlar hep güler yüzlüydü, kibar ve ilgililerdi. Otelin en iyi yanlarından biri çalışanları. Yemekleri çok güzeldi. Kahvaltısı ise zayıf kalıyor.
Deniz dalgalı değilse girebiliyorsunuz, botlar pisliğini bırakmadığı sürece tertemiz. Çok derin olmasına rağmen denizin dibini, balıkları, kaplumbağaları görebiliyorsunuz, çok güzel. Dalgalı zamanlarda insanı falezlere çarpacak gibiydi, kimse girmiyordu. Denize merdivenle iniliyor, ya da atlayabilirsiniz :) güneş merdivenleri çok ısırığında denizden çıkarken eliniz, ayağınız yanıyor. Eğer denize girmek tatiliniz için çok önemliyse alternatifleri değerlendirin. Değilse, oteldeki infinity pool da sizi memnun edecektir.
Kaldığımız odada internet neredeyse çekmiyordu, gidip geliyordu. Biz çoğunlukla telefonumuzun internetini kullandık.
Motoru, freni sağlam bir aracınız yoksa yol baya sıkıntı. Yol nedeniyle otelden çıkmamaya çalıştık, çıktığımızda ise yolda kalan araçları gördük.
Kısaca, dalgalı deniz, internet ve yol dışında her şey çok iyiydi.
