The location of Hotel Du Casino, above Omaha Beach, was amazing and the view of the beach and the English Channel was incredible. The room was small and a bit dated. The breakfasts were quite good as well. The staff was friendly and helpful but you should know French if you stay there. Also, having a car is a must as most services are about 15 miles away.

This place was everything and more. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful. The view of the beach was breathtaking, the service was great and the parking was free. I would recommend updating the rooms a little. As an experienced traveler I would recommend changing the carpet and making the rooms a little lighter inside. I like the old world ambiance but the stained carpet and dark walls was very outdated
Being able to open the windows and hear the waves was peaceful. The breakfast was very good too. Special thanks to the front desk woman who let us eat early. This hotel was amazing and priced very reasonable. The area is beautiful and the stay was something I will always remember.

Perfect place for reflection. Right at Dog landing spot and memorials on Omaha Beach.
Good restaurant and bar with great views.
We rode the train from Paris and rented a car. We stayed two nights and needed one more.!

If Omaha Beach is where you want to be, I couldn’t imagine a better location. The view is amazing, and no other hotel has anything like the view to match it. I will be encouraging all my friends and family to stay at the Hotel du Casino. Oh, and the French-style breakfast was good too. Our only disappointment was that when we arrived we discovered that restaurant was already fully booked for the evening, so we didn’t get to try it out.

Perfect with one exception

Everything was perfect - the only reason that I have not given full marks for comfort and condition is that there was no hot water from the shower. Otherwise, it was a comfortable room with a superb view across the beach. The fruits de mer was amazing!

Right on beach in Vierville-sur-Mer by national guard monument where 29th infantry landed. Clean rooms with ocean view. Not real crowded in the area. 10 minute drive to American cemetery east and 20 minutes west to pointe du hoc.

Wonderful, clean stay

Friendly staff; very clean rooms; beautiful view of Omaha Beach and the US National Guard Memorial. Only downside is that there are not many places to eat nearby. The restaurant food is good, but slightly pricey.

Amazing Location on Omaha Beach

This hotel has the perfect location on Omaha Beach. The view is unbeatable. The history of the hotel is remarkable. It was a great place to learn about the D-day. It was a very peaceful hotel. The hotel did not have air conditioning, which is probably not a necessity, but there was a heat wave the day we arrived, and it was surprisingly warm.

Million Dollar view of Omaha Beach

The hotel was lovely, staff fantastic I can't remember the ladies name who owns the hotel but she was very welcoming and friendly, made me feel I should learn French more as we are in France but she tried her best with English. The room we were given for our 3 night stay was lovely but in need a bit of updating e.g. the lamp was crumbling and the shower struggled to stay up but this would be forgotten easily with the amazing view of Omaha beach, it was fantastic. Unfortunately our arrival was the last week before the hotel closed for 4 months so the bar was closed downstairs but it was to our benefit as the whole area/hotel was so quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Du Casino again. Wi Fi worked fine and there was a choice of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Hotel. If you are a fish lover then this is the place to dine for you. Really enjoyed our break away and to pay our respects to so may brave men and women who gave their lives so we could have our freedom. The Hotel is situated directly off the beach 60 seconds away. Lovely hotel, lovely staff and amazing area. Thanks - Marc and Brandon Locks - Angleterre

Excellent stay, comfortable location

Our first trip to Normandy and the D-Day beaches and Hotel Du Casino was the perfect place for a dinner and overnight stay. The hotel room was very comfortable and the hotel restaurant was phenomenal. Phenomenal. The location was unbelievable - right on the beach and a very short distance (possibly walkable, depending on time and weather) to the monument and museum. If we're ever in the area again, we'll check on availability at Du Casino.

Great location,not worth 130 Euros

The internet did not work the whole time I was there. That would usually not bother me, but I needed to get a hold of a family member and could not do so. The rooms were very ugly, but functional. The location of the hotel is great, right at the beach. The breakfast was included, but nothing to rave about. Not worth the money of 130 Euros. I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Very nice and clean hotel with great location on Omaha Beach. My only issue is that the owners/operators do not speak English very well which made it difficult to communicate even the most basic questions that a hotel guest may have.

Great Location for Visiting the American Beaches

Absolutely great location. Right on Omaha Beach, so very convenient for a walk on the beach. Great location for visiting the western Normandy beaches and sites. Larger towns are about 20 minutes away. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The bar food was okay. Fairly large room and bathroom. Keep in mind no elevator or air-conditioning. Bed comfort and room condition was average.

This place is greatly under rated

From the moment we arrived, the staff made a great effort to make our visit wonderful. The owner carried our bags up the stairs--even though we are both very able bodied. The downstairs bar opened up for us to have beers though they were closed after lunch, and until till dinner. Meals---ate in the bar area, and it was phenomenal. The cook prepared my mussels to perfection, and my husband said his omelete was best every. The cost is very reasonable, and you can't beat the view, or the ambience. Breakfast in the upstairs dining area was equally good--continental plus, and everything was fresh and very tasty. Reasonably priced and well worth the nominal cost. The room is not luxury 5 *, but it is so comfortable and pleasant. Bed was great, views are awesome, directly looking of various parts of Omaha Beach, and the beach is right across the road. You cannot get closer...Even though who drive and park, are not as close as you will likely be. This hotel has been her since before WWII. It has seen a lot of history, and that is well respected in the photo museum in the bar area. Stay here...you will be glad you made the choice. Beach is right in front of you!

I booked this based on it's location, with the impression that it was likely to be a bit run down. However, I was really impressed and pleasantly surprised.

The hotel seems vey modern, our room was much better than expected and the service and staff were excellent.

The location is stunning and I would definitely stay here again.

Great little hotel right on the beach

This hotel is small but very quaint, comfortable and the best location right on Omaha Beach. Open the windows and view the beaches where the D-Day invasion took place and breathe in the clean English Channel air; it's breathtaking. Near the American Cemetery and Pointe Du Loc. So full of history; the hotel operators are great. Loved it.

Excellent hotel and Fabulous Food in the dining ro

This was a wonderful experience in Normandy France. The hotel was very very clean and just updated in a beautiful style. the Dinner food in the main dining room was wonderful .. even better than some of the meals we had in Paris prior to arriving into Normandy. Wine bottles were reasonable and delicious and even the Karafe we had one night was delightful . I would definitely stay here again and wish there were more hotels like this in many places.

Great Place for a Weekend Trip

You can't expect luxury, but the staff was very pleasant, dinner was great, and the location can't be beat. I had a weekend in between meetings in Paris and this made for a wonderful side trip to explore history and the beauty of the area.

Right on Omaha Beach...

Right on Omaha Beach.....Room had view of the Channel, and at night, you could see the lights of GB! Beautiful view of the coastline. Free Wifi, and very helpful staff.

Just the right location

My husband wanted to see the beaches of Omaha, so staying at the Hotel du Casino was the perfect location. Our room had complete views over the beaches and the sound of the ocean during the night was wonderful. We had dinner at breakfast at the hotel and both were satisfactory. The hotel is quite old but very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect.

Superb!

We had a wonderful two nights at the Du Casino. Our room was booked as a triple and we got the first floor quad room. Two rooms and a bath. Wonderfully appointed. The dinner in the restaurant was top of the line. The breakfast met all expectations. It was right at the Mulberry Harbor landing beach. (Omaha Beach)close proximity to all the Normandy Beaches and Museums and cemeteries. Great countryside drive with stone walled villages. Give this hotel an A+++. Only has thirteen rooms so book early.
