The fridge in the room was noisy. There was no complimentary tea or hair conditioner in the room. The continental breakfast was lacking in terms of what I'd expect. No variety of bagels just plain, no oatmeal or fresh fruit or hard boiled eggs available. The cereal dispenser was empty. Delivery service for take out had only one option, Italian food. We were booked for two days but checked out early. They said they would refund us for the day we didn't use but then never did give us a refund. Kept saying it was Expedia's responsibility and Expedia kept saying it was Econolodge's responsibility. The staff is only available in the morning and briefly around in the late afternoon. The only good thing I have to say is that the rooms are clean and the staff is courteous.

I booked a room with a hot tub however, when I got there, it was not a hot tub, but a whirlpool tub inside of the bathroom. It was definitely not worth the $40 up charge. On top of that the only vending machine robbed us of $5 and the breakfast area was cute but not very well stocked and the waffle maker doesn’t work properly. It wasn’t a horrible stay but not what I expected.

The room was smoked in and management didn't care. They only gave you 2 pillow per bed. The owner wanted to call me a liar and tell me my child wasnt a child and tried to make me pay for my child for being in the room which sleeps 4 and it was 3 of us. I left early because he was so rude and he didnt even want to do his job he would send his cleaning lady to try to do his job. She was the nicest. She tried to fix the cigarette smoke smell. I would not recommend anyone stay at this place. And the complimentary breakfast was terrible as well.

My stay was excellent once I was able to check in after having to cancel my reservation made on EXPEDIA. Econolodge staff bent over backwards to try and get EXPEDIA’s third party payment to go through (I paid with One Key Cash) but ultimately could not even after an hour back and forth on the phone with Expedia. Big thumbs down for Expedia as we ultimately had to cancel the reservation on the hotels end and book a new reservation which cost substantially more. Thank you Econolodge, Glade Spring, PA.

Dirt sheets like a muddy construction worker had slept on them. Dirty bathroom floor. Sink would NEVER drain. Refrigerator was so clogged with ice it was not usable. Paint splatters on lights and fixtures. Peeling paint in bathroom. Breakfast should have never been offered. No fruit. Coffee creamer was old and coagulated. I really could not recommend this at any price.

The people were nice. The room was ok but not that clean. Floors very dirty. Housekeeping only can in to take dirty towels but didn’t bring back clean ones and only took the trash out. No one monitors the coffee in the lobby. Bagels were old. Too many people that live on the premises full time. Ok for a quick stay.

Even though it's Econolodge, we are still paying for the basic necessity of a clean room. We even paid for the room with Jacuzzi and fireplace, hoping it would be a bit better... Not at all. We were checked in by a very unwilling front desk agent, then as we walked in to the room, there were cobwebs right above the door in the corner. The bathroom ceiling vent was black with dust, the showerhead was bad, the sink barely had water coming out, there were hand print markings on the headboard (plus other fluids) indicating it clearly had not been cleaned nor had a basic wipe down in a while. The top sheet had a cigarette burn hole where it folds over the blanket (very visible), and one of the towels had a fresh looking drop of blood on it, which means it had not been washed for it to still be fresh red... Next day when we left for the day, a cleaning lady asked which room we were leaving from, so we gave her the room number and asked to just replace the towels and take out the trash... Got back that evening and NOTHING was done. You can not pay me to ever stay here again, which is unfortunate since it is close to our relative's house... We should get a full refund for such a horrible stay.

I liked that this hotel was not far from either Abingdon or Damascus for my bike trip. The breakfast offerings were surprisingly good for a small space. I would prefer different tv channel options during breakfast though (cartoons over fox news!)

BEWARE ROACHES!!! When we arrived at the motel the first thing we saw was a broken window with glass in front of the main entrance. After driving 9 hours we figured it was one night we just wanted to get a shower and go to bed. Well the first thing we saw walking into our room was dead bugs on the floor and the floor didn't look like it was swept at all. The bathroom was dirty and I requested a new room. The front desk lady was nice enough to get us a new room. But when entering the second room we found dirty pillow cases with someone's old makeup on it and even more bugs on the floor. We were so grossed out we immediately went to the front desk and asked for a refund and we're going to look elsewhere. The front desk lady was on the phone with the owner, Ken, who told her to tell us if we wanted better quality we should go to the Hilton Inn. I was absolutely mind blown by the owner's rudeness and acceptance of bugs and roaches in the rooms and dirty sheets. Then after leaving the front desk we went to grab our bags in the room and the owner called our room and rudely said "You have 5 minutes to get out of the room" and I stated we're grabbing our bags now. But the hospitality by the owner is absolutely rude! I'd never want any of my friends or family to stay here. But if you'd like to pay for dirty sheets and roaches for a night this is the place, per the owner that's the expectations! But my advice is to spend the extra $20 like I ended up doing and go somewhere else!!!!

Pay attention to the details when cleaning….

The maids/custodians need to focus on the floors and walls around ten toilets as well as the toilets when cleaning! There’s no way I could see the poop on the floor/wall and they missed it. Also, some type of bug/pest control bc there were little black bugs in the bathroom and they were very much alive. The bed was clean and comfortable. I got a non smoking room but it still smelt of smoke so I sprayed some stuff. Perfect stay for going to visit my loved one up the road tho so I’ll be back & I’ll bring cleaning supplies just in case ;)

The bedding was dirty, obvious stains on them. The bathroom had hair on the floor and in the tub leading us to believe it wasnt cleaned, or at least cleaned well. The complimentary "breakfast" was some apples and bananas, cereal, store bought muffins and a half of a bagel. There was also a waffle maker but I did not try that. There was no cream for the milk. While my family ate breakfast I waited for the staff to show up to ask for more bagels but they never came.

There is a difference between being a budget minded hotel and being a dirty mistake. This location was definitely a dirty mistake. From the yellow stained pillow cases, to the left behind Wendy’s bag under the bed, this hotel gave me nightmares that I will not recover from any time soon.

Drive another 3 miles north on Interstate 81 and you will find not suitable accommodations at a comparable price.

I paid through expedia- the property said they were not paid despite showing them the paid receipt. I also called my credit card company to verify they were paid. The front desk texted me after 11 pm & said I would need to vacate the room for non payment. I contacted expedia for another receipt, then went to bed.

I had a 3 night stay here. I get here on Thursday evening around 4, get settle. I leave for a few hours come back around 9 and I found bed bugs in the bathroom and in the bed. I decided to checkout, I would like a full refund because of
1. I didn’t stay a full night
2. The bed bugs
3. Holes in the sheets and bath towels.
I go downstairs to check out and they won’t give me a full refund because I was there for a few hours, but that’s messed up. I wouldn’t recommend staying here and I hope this place gets shut down.
PSA. Also if you have a issue the boss he stays right next to the hotel and he’s very strict about it’s either his way or you get nothing

The people at the front desk were friendly the first evening. They even tried to make the television work. It seemed to work for a moment, they left, and then it didn't work. The coffee maker didn't work. Overall, it was a suboptimal situation. The clerk argued with my husband as we were checking out, saying that I just didn't know how a TV works. Will not stay there again.

The location is convenient to the interstate. That is really the only thing good about it.
Room was not clean. Walls and doors were really dirty, like somone lived there and had worked on cars for a living. Lamp shades were stained with water damage. Bed had burn holes in top blanket and cigarette ashes in night stand drawer, although it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Beds were VERY uncomfortable. Pretty run down property. Good for hourly rental, if you know what I mean.
