The couple that run the hotel are so kind! There was a funny mistake from the language barrier but everything worked out and they truly go above and beyond to make you comfortable! We did choose to buy a fan for the room but that’s because we’re spoiled Americans accustomed to sleeping in 65 degrees even in the summer.

Good location as a base for wandering around Pontivy - almost next door to the castle. Easy on-road free parking immediately outside the hotel. Comfortable bed. Good range of choices for breakfast

Everything about Hotel du Chateau is excellent! Facilities are perfect, my room so clean and comfortable! The owner was so nice - provided a safe overnight place for my bike and found a great place to have a flat tyre fixed. Free parking is plentiful right by the hotel and the hotel is right next to the chateau and the town centre. Thoroughly recommend!

Le gérant et sa femme sont deux personnes merveilleuses : toujours souriantes, avec qui on peut avoir des conversations passionnantes qui passent de la situation politique en Israël en passant par le prix payé par les hôteliers à cause de la Covid-19 et pour finir comment on fait d’excellents croissants !

We enjoyed our two nights at the Hotel du Chateau while we explored the town of Pontivy with its attractive old buildings and beautiful rivers. A friendly place to stay, very clean and comfortable. Our room was quiet and attractive, the bathroom was very well appointed and breakfast was lovely, with delicious croissants and choice of fresh fruit.

We stayed here for three nights during a kid's soccer tournament. The location is great, within walking of restaurants, stores, history, and the river. The staff is very friendly and the room was clean and fresh. This was a very nice stay for us and we would definitely stay here again.

The room was decorated and furnished to a high standard and nice and cool considering it was 30+ outside. Bathroom had the important feature of a good shower. All kept nice and clean too.

Hotel du Chateau Pontivy - great value
This is a very pleasant 2 star hotel in Pontivy, within easy walking distance of the main attractions. It's situated on one of the main roads into town, but for all that it's not too noisy usually (although during our stay they were demolishing the building opposite to give us a better river view!). You can walk a couple of hundred metres along the road to an excellent selection of restaurants and shops. The hotel itself has obviously had some refurbishment work carried out recently, to good effect. The rooms are quite basic but comfortable, the bed was good but would be vastly improved by replacing the pillows, which were cheap and lumpy. The bedding was okay but more cotton would be cooler and more comfortable in the summer.The bathroom was spacious and immaculately clean.
The breakfast was fresh and good value, and can be served in your room if you wish. During our stay the bar was closed for most of the time, which was a shame as we would have been happy to spend a bit more time there, and it would have been helpful if tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room whilst there was no bar available, as this meant we had to leave the hotel for a cup of tea every time the need arose. Not ideal really.
However, overall the hotel is clean and very presentable, the staff are polite and helpful, you can park outside the door for free, and everything you need is practically on the doorstep. For a budget stay in Pontivy, this is a good safe bet and we would stay again.

Bel hôtel pas très loin vers les bords du Blavet. Bon accueil, grande chambre confortable et en état impeccable. Petit déjeuner en buffet très complet. Parfait pour bien débuter la journée. Local fermé pour les vélo c'est très pratique. L'hôtel est pas loin du croisement de plusieurs voies vertes cyclables. C'est parfait pour des balades en famille.

Troisième séjour dans cet hôtel. Troisième chambre avec le même niveau de confort. C'est toujours aussi bien. Arrivé en dehors des heures d'ouverture, l'hôtelier s'est arrangé pour que je puisse récupérer ma clé. Petit déjeuner en chambre, Covid oblige. J'y reviendrai volontiers.

Super hôtel très bien situé. A proximité de la route mais très bien isolé. Les chambres sont très propres, la literie très bien, petit bémol pour la sdb un peu juste (il faut se mettre de profil pour accéder aux toilettes) mais il ce n'est pas un gros problème !
Les petits-déjeuners sont copieux et les produits sont de qualité. Les propriétaires sont attentifs à nos besoins.

Hotel qui semble un peu vieillot au premier abord mais la chambre était très agréable. Pas de bruit perturbant durant notre séjour, des volets qui ne laissent pas passer la lumière le matin (c'est rare). Petit déjeuner copieux, propriétaire très accueillant et agréable, bref, tout s'est bien passé
