We had another wonderful stay at the De L'Europe. The property is beautiful and even better as they prepare it for the holidays. They kindly upgraded us to a room with a balcony, which was fantastic! It was so lovely and luxurious and really made the stay perfect. Breakfast in Marie Brasserie was the highlight of my day - wonderful service overlooking the canal and an exceptional array of foods available at the buffet or for order. The hotel is small enough that the staff recognizes you and it really feels like a home away from home. Wonderful!!

Great hotel! Staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The rooms are clean and well organized. There are three restaurants and all are good. Flore is well worth the trip alone, but the Italian place is a close second. Make sure to ask about the history, it’s a great story! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting luxury in the heart of everything while staying in Amsterdam! We will come back.

We also found the location to be central enough so walking to everything was manageable. We would definitely stay again on our next trip!

Loved the stay here, front desk offered me a free room upgrade, hotel is clean and rooms are quiet. Location is great. My only negative experience was with the concierge, especially the head of the concierge. He is unprofessional, disrespectful and arrogant. He has too much pride to admit he made a mistake. He is the reason for not giving full rate.

Five star ambiance One star service. 30 minutes for a small bucket of ice. Housekeeping in your room when you have not requested it. We made transportation appointments only to have no car show up and staff telling us \" it's coming\" for 20 minutes. Finally we gave up and secured our own taxi.

If I could give it 10 stars I would! This was without a doubt my favorite hotel I ever stayed at. upon our arrival at seven in the morning from an overnight flight, they took us down to the spa with an area to sleep. A balcony overlooking water robes told us we could use the pool and relax till our room is ready we slept for about three hours. Snacks and beverages provided- who does that?! The hotel has an old school cool vibe the beds could not be more comfortable the linens top quality everything was just outstanding the view of the water they upgraded our room to a suite which was so much appreciated. From start to finish, the staff could not have been more helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be coming back again.

My family and I loved our 6-day stay at De L'Europe. From check-in to check-out, it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is wonderfully located at the intersection of two canals, so you have water views on either side and one has easy access to the major tourist sites, restaurants and shopping. The public spaces and rooms are all very clean, the rooms beautifully furnished, and the bathrooms luxuriously appointed. The best part of the experience De L'Europe was the staff who were absolutely top notch.

Re restaurants, they have a lovely bar and casual dining restaurant by the canal. They serve a wonderful breakfast, also in a beautiful canal-side restaurant. They also have a Michelin 2-star restaurant on property where we had dinner one night. I must say that I have had better Michelin dining experiences, even at 1-star restaurants, including in Amsterdam. But the staff were wonderful and the wines and non-alcoholic beverages were quite interesting.

When we are in Amsterdam again, we would stay, without any hesitation, at the De L-Europe. Highly recommend without any reservation!!

The room was adequate in size but not well ventilated in the bathroom.

My recommendation would be to chose one of several nearby cafes for breakfast rather than dine in the hotel

However Cedric at Freddy’s Bar is a master at serving up cocktails in style. My two faves were a cucumber rendition and one very refreshing basil based Definitely pop in for a drink overlooking the canal

The hotel and staff are both top notch, It has an \"old school\" decor that might seem dated to some people, but I thought it was lovely and well maintained. The Marie restaurant was very good, The hotel is a very convenient location for walking, but the immediate area is very touristy and somewhat dirty although not dangerous, But, a 10-15 minute walk will take you to quieter neighborhoods.

The hotel provides a lovely comfortable experience. The staff are extremely helpful and on two occasions the offered buggy transport was very worthwhile and appreciated. The Trattoria and Flore restaurants were a delight. Book well in advance for the Flore -world class and worth the two star Michelin award. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Amsterdam. The only slight hiccup was the not so good Crogue Monsieur and Brioche snacks ad on the first day. Otherwise the food was lovely. A pleasure to have breakfast overlooking the Amstel river. Would go there again at the drop of a hat.

Twice in one day the hotel staff entered our room while we were in it, the last time at 10:30 pm when we were already in bed. Too many of the staff were rude and unhelpful.Room cost was $1,000 for the night, a total waste of money. Pick another place to stay.

This hotel has become our home in Amsterdam. We love the staff who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The rooms are clean and luxurious. A few aspects of the hotel were missing from our prior visits. The most notable was a lack of live music which once greatly added to the character of this fine hotel. The second was the removal of the bar at the far end of the lobby which was a nice place to sit, enjoy a drink and socialize. The lobby is still lovely, but perhaps just a tad less welcoming and social than it once was. Anyway, we love this hotel and plan to return soon.

Hotel location great, decor also nice.
On the surface the service seems good but when it came down to getting things done it was below par. A lot of talk but no action.

First complaint would be the hotel saying they would organize my hire car to be returned, but then 5 mins before It was due back reception told me they didn’t bother so I had to rush out and return the car and pay late fees & an extra nights parking fee at the hotel which is hugely overpriced.

2nd complaint would be the very high pitched buzzing noise in my room which the hotel staff insisted they couldn’t hear. I had 3 different friends who all said they could hear the noise. It was very difficult to sleep in the room so I had to have the TV on all night to mask the high pitched buzzing noise. The hotel refused to allow me to swap rooms & also said they would send up earlier plugs which never happened. I went out and bought some myself the next day.

My biggest complaint by far would be them trying to over charge me by 9000e on check out. I went over the bill with reception and they agreed that they had made a mistake and fixed the bill, which I paid on site. Only to have them charge my credit card a month later.
I am in the process with American Express on trying to retrieve my money.

Over all, a bad experience which is a shame as the hotel itself is nice, and the staff did seem friendly.
