Three of us stayed at Navutu Stars for three nights. The room was beautiful—very spacious, private, and right on its own beach, which we loved.

That said, the resort is extremely small, with one central area for all meals, and the menu did not change during our stay. Getting there requires a four-hour ferry ride from Port Denarau with only one arrival and departure per day, so flights must be planned carefully. The ride can be rough if you’re prone to motion sickness.

Fiji overall is quite expensive, and water is not complimentary with meals, which adds up quickly. The resort is very natural, so there are many insects, which may be uncomfortable for some guests.

Our main takeaway is that this is a very quiet, slow-paced resort. With only about 15 guests and 1–2 short activities per day, most of the time is spent relaxing. The pool is small and not very inviting. If you’re looking for an active resort experience, this may not be the right fit, but it could suit travelers seeking total relaxation and privacy.

Amazing amenities and rooms in a lovely location, great spa/massages. One of the best restaurants on the Yasawa islands.
The only thing I would criticize is the lack of a clean water tank to refill reusable bottles. I don't want to buy plastic bottles on a small island and add to the pollution of the world.

Disappointing Stay at Navutu Stars Resort

I arrived with high expectations, but unfortunately the resort did not meet them.

The beach area was rocky, surrounded by mangroves that made it feel swampy and attracted mosquitoes. The reef in front of the resort was completely dead — there was no snorkeling to see whatsoever.

The mandatory meal plan was costly, yet the food lacked both quality and variety. For the price, it felt like poor value.

My bungalow was semi-nice, but it lacked basic amenities expected at a 5-star resort — no air conditioning, no coffee kettle, and no bathroom door for privacy.

Amenities were extremely limited. Aside from the room and dining area, there was very little offered to enhance the stay.

Overall, Navutu Stars fell far short of expectations and did not deliver the quality promised.

This is the most beautiful place with the most beautiful people. We were the only guests on the island at one point and they couldn’t do enough for us. The food is fresh and delicious. If we return to Fiji we would choose to stay here with them. We had a massage that was wonderful as well. Serenity, love and peace you will find here to rejuvenate your soul.
Bures are right on the beach and very clean and beautiful. We loved every person on the island and they showed us love as well.

This resort is one of the best we have ever stayed at. This is very much due to the staff. They were all amazing and accommodating. It’s a tiny resort with only ten rooms, but all of them have amazing views. The food is great and since it is so small you truly get to meet all the guests. We met some awesome people from Australia, so shout out to Nina, Milton, Emily, James, Steve and Kelly! The only thing that was strange for me was the saloon door on the bathroom. No privacy but we have been married a long time. I would definitely come back again❤️

The rest of my vacation has been destroyed!! I chose Navutu Stars as my first Island hop experience in the Yasawas. I wish it had been my last. This was also a surprise trip for my daughter’s sweet sixteen. They exceeded my expectations and made a lasting impression on her special day.
The most peaceful setting, the most attentive and accommodating staff, clean and inviting rooms.
Everyone knows your name and you’ll want to remember theirs. Definitely coming back!! Refusing to share more. This is our island paradise. You’ll have to see for yourself.

I enjoyed the beauty of the property and the surrounding. I wished it was easier to go in the water to swim but with the low tides for the majority of the day it wasn’t possible. I had a bit of difficult time on the resort because I’m terrified of dogs and there are 5 of them and they do come up and jump on you. I understand almost everyone loves dogs, I get it but I’m scared and it controlled how I spent my time on the resort. For instance I missed the sunrise one morning because I was scared to go alone, knowing if the dogs see me they will come up to me. Other than that, it was a beautiful property and the service was good,

It’s hard to explain how much I loved this place in only a few words. From arrival to departure I was blown away with the amount of hospitality we received. By the time we left, I left like I was leaving my family. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime. From the food, to the activities offered, to the beautiful rooms, to sharing in their culture, it was all incredible. If I could do it all over again, I would only stay at Navutu (instead of 3 days on the mainland). I look forward to going back and can only hope that anyone reading this, books their stay with them. Prior 2 arrival, no matter the No. of ??s, the staff is very accommodating &helpful. Sai made it his mission to make certain all logistical ??s was addressed to our satisfaction &offered to assist with the various transfers. Upon arrival, the resort is as beautiful as pictured &well kept. From the beginning to the end, the staff is very warm, friendly, &welcoming. Dan, Varani, &Penei greeted us with welcoming smiles which never faded. Welcoming massages, the best! We've made many great memories &feel very welcomed to return.

As for activities, were pleased with the daily selections and variety. For the $$ activities, the costs were reasonable. Also, they were very accepting of guests' activity requests &would make it happen for you. Our highlights were private beach picnic, sunset cruise, blue lagoon snorkeling &the cave visit. Solo made it his personal mission that everyone had a great time while out on an excursion with him. He was extremely patient with helping me snorkel. His persistence &patience were very much appreciated.

Regarding dining, the food was top notch, definitely 5-star worthy! Hats off to ALL chefs; all selections were just lovely &exquisite. Kula, To, and Lidl were great service attendants. They were very friendly, personable, & attentive. Their consistency made it a pleasurable experience every day.

We celebrated a birthday during our stay. All made it a bday we'll never forget. From the ground keepers to the bath ladies, big thanks to all!! VINAKA!!

My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay at Navutu Stars! The bures are gorgeous and the location is perfect. The staff couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. Everyone on staff is a local. They greeted us on the beach as we pulled up on our long boat with a song and a couple of drinks. They offered excursion 3 times a day, but doing absolutely nothing except taking in the scenery was just as rewarding. My wife and I would go again and again.

We LOVED Navutu Stars for our honeymoon. The staff really make this place special. By the time we left we felt like family.
The Food is amazing, as are the activities that are offered. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they don't force anything on you. We wanted to go spearfishing one day and the staff organised for men from the local village to take us out & then the chef cooked the fish for us for dinner. Cocktails are also fantastic.
Our room was huge, and very private.
For a true Fijian experience which is less commercial than most of the other Fiji islands we would definitely recommend Navutu Stars. Bula!

Our New Fijian Family!

Look no future when planning a place to stay in the yasawa islands. From the stunning and peaceful location, and enhanced by great fijian people who were really friendly & attentive that are offer the warm bula fijian Hospitality! This resort has won many awards for its service and location. We really appreciated there being only a maximum of 20 guests and 10 bures. We were in bure 1 with the sunken in tub with a large deck to see and capture the sunrises was simply amazing!! Loved the Navutu Stars kava ceremony as we joined all the staff and the other guests as we celebrated a 60th birthday and Staff member millie who was levaing the island. My wife and i left the resort in tears and cannot praise the team at Navutu Stars highly enough and we cant wait to see them all again soon. Much love Marc and Fariza. Sota Tale!

My husband and I stayed at Navutu Stars Resort for 2 nights. We wished we had stayed there longer. Our villa was steps away from the beach. The resort is small, which is great. We used the sunken tub in our room one evening and it was great to just soak in the tub. Right outside our room we had the use of two lounge chairs and a hammock. The service was great at the resort. They had a board listing the activities for the day and you just had to tell the front desk what you are interested in doing. This is an adult only resort. The food wasn't bad. We had breakfast included with our stay and we purchased the half board meal plan which was for a 3 course dinner each night. You do have the option of ordering ala carte as well. Truthfully I don't know what would have been better for us. All the staff is super friendly and willing to help with anything that you need. We would definitely come back here.

Overall stay was excellent. Was a bit expensive: food, drinks, water, much higher than any other resort. Fortunately we took plenty of water bought at the local supermarket in Nadi before arrival for $1.30 / 1.5 litre compared to the resort price of $6.50 for 250ml. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Fantastic staff, location and food. Its not a luxury resort despite being advertised as such. Everything was excellent apart from: 1) the bed was awful, time for a replacement, 2) food was in Fiji dollars except if you order a half or full board then its in USA dollars which is not made clear or advised to you by the staff, 3) this is an isolated resort in the tropics with no water supply, they supply you with 500ml of water a day, what a joke! really if they are inviting guests to an isolated island then the necessity of life being water should be included in the room rate

Paradise and perfection!

Wow. What an amazing week we had at Navutu Stars. Everything about it was just fantastic - the food, the massages, the activities, the bures and the awesome staff. We stayed in Garden Bure number 2 which was beautiful and private and two seconds from the pristine beach. There are free and charging activities - do both they are very reasonably priced. The massages are wonderful too - and you're given a complimentary one when you arrive!!!!! We can't thank Navutu Stars enough for making our holiday so special and one to remember. We will be back as soon as possible. X

Pure Paradise

The resort was pure paradise. Something you dream about. The bures were perfect, giving us a true Fijian experience, without being over the top. The staff, food, communal dining area, bar, and beaches couldn't be faulted. It was a bonus having a village on the island where you could visit and see how the Fijians live. The school children put on a singing performance for us, which was a bonus. The snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking were all great fun. The resort looks out to beautiful aqua blue, coral waters. Perfect location for a relaxing holiday. Only 20 people staying on island at any one time. The Fijians are the happiest people and most sincere people I have met. They are always smiling and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We shall be back for sure.

Navutu Stars was definitely the highlight of our Fiji trip. It's located about 4.5 hours boat ride away from the mainland, therefore we had already expected to have a very private and quiet stay there. However, what we experienced there was still above our expectation. The hotel is beautiful, the room is clean and comfortable, the staff were all very friendly and professional, the island is quiet and overall very relaxing with amazing water and view. The food was also super delicious! There were cool activities offered every day such as morning yoga, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving etc, so we never ran out of things to do. We really enjoyed our stay there and I will bring my husband back with me next time!

Fabulous relaxing stay

Huge bures and really friendly staff. Lots of activities on offer, or the opportunity to just relax. The village visit to the school was a highlight for me.

Restaurant has a full vegetarian menu, which was great. Bar had a nice selection of drinks and a special each evening.

The only thing I think some people may dislike is that the sea goes out a long way when the tide is out. The beach was lovely though and you could wander all along and swim in the deeper sections.

Cons: Very expensive and out of context food, beach is so so.

Food is Los Angeles prices and Italian cuisine!! who wants Italian food where I can get it everyday in the US? We had to really ask hard and investigate to get local food.

Beach is not what you would expect of Fiji, especially in low tide, which is very unpredictable, you are stuck with land activities. Also very windy location with high currents, which renders most water activities useless in high tide.

I vacationed at Navutu Stars Resort because it received Tripadvisor's top reward for 2015. Well, it should receive another reward for 2017. WOW!! The service, the people, the food, the atmosphere totally exceeded my expectations. I have never felt such warmth and kindness on my vacation as I felt at Navutu. From taking Yoga with Tariq, who also invited me to her church and who's village showed me so much kindness and also invited me to lunch and served me delicious food, to getting a massage from Lewa, who's just phenomenal and also gave me a Chamba to wear to church, to embracing the full spirit and warmth of Watee (thanks for the fan) and the sense of humor of Jojo and Asherri and Lita. This is an experience I will forever remember. Now to talk about the food - DELICIOUS. I'm a Vegetarian and they actually had a Vegetarian Menu. Wow! Everyday I tried a new dish and I was not disappointed. Bravo to all the chefs! The tomato stuffed with fried rice was my absolute favorite. Also, I experienced a Kava Ceremony. I highly recommend it. It's a great way to meet and embrace the community. The Lovo Celebration was also awesome. This was when the food was cooked under a heated earth - Phenomenal! The pumpkin rice was DELICIOUS. Go to Navutu Stars Resort and have an experience of a lifetime; I did. Vinaka!!!

Lovely hotel, amazing location

Navutu stars as a whole is a beautiful place for you an a partner.
Food was brilliant, the staff where some of the friendliest people I have ever met, buru was exerlent (lacking aircon) but the fans do work well an you soon understand there probably isn't enough electricity on the island for aircon.
On Sundays the kids coir from the village come an sing for you, they are very sweet an pull on the heart strings.

I felt for the price we would have got a little more, such as the snorkelling trips being free an cooked breakfast.

The only negative about navutu is, they say don't drink the water, but then don't provide enough for the day, an when your paying $10 jfd for a 500ml bottle it soon adds up.

Great resort at great location with awesome staff!

Our first trip to Fiji, we came with open mind and were welcomed with open hearts.
Navutu Stars is great little resort where you become a part of a family. All staff members were very friendly and helpful, and no requests were problem for them. If you missed any scheduled activity just ask and suddenly it is back on a board at time/day that suits you.
Location is great with two reefs accessible from resort beach and another few just few paddles away, and on top of that is another dozen few minutes away by a boat. Snorkeling paradise, do not forget action cam.
Absolutely perfect place to unwind and relax, quiet and peaceful with no crowds, children or any noise/disruptions. Not even a TV, although WIFI and mobile coverage are quite good.
One of the places that we would like to visit again and again.

Our \"Grand Bure\" required a steep climb up uneven stairs. No views of the ocean from the bure or deck. The deck and deck furniture were at the end of their lives. Inside, the bure had 3 steep stairs up to the bathroom. With no handrail, this would be a serious hazard for most people at night. So we changed rooms to the only other \"Grand Bure\" available, which had no stairs. At the new \"Grand Bure\", the deck and outdoor furniture were also broken and at the point of needing replacement. Only a small (3 ft) opening in the trees/shrubbery to allow a minute glimpse of the ocean (not at all visible from inside the bure). Inside, the bure was generally dim. The bathroom was uncomfortably dark. The floors were incredibly slippery with wet feet (e.g., after using the foot bath at the entrance, or using the shower). The \"tub\" was covered with a piece of wood and it took up most of the bure floor space. Under the wood was a vat of used bath water in which dead flowers and lots of bugs were steeping for who knows how long. It was gross. The manager came and apologized and told us the tub would get drained the next day (i.e., we wouldn't have the main thing that we were paying for in the premium price of a Grand bure). The next day cleaning included spraying the entire room with Raid, so we would have large dead bugs on our floors for the remainder of our 3 night stay. We chose not to use the tub. The bent & plugged shower head needed replacement and the drain was ridiculously slow.

Idyllic setting away from the hustle and bustle of other resorts. Navutu Stars houses a maximum of 12 couples, meaning you get a lot of space and privacy. The setting is paradise, private sections of beach for each Bure and if that doesn't take your fancy the staff are more than willing to take you out and find somewhere even more secluded.

Staff are fantastic, can't do enough for you and make your stay seamless, even if the Yasawa's require a bit of extra planning to get to! We took the seaplane with Turtle Air and the staff coordinated everything to ensure a boat was waiting to pick us up.

If I was trying to pick negatives (and I would have to really try), I would say the food is pricey. That's not to say it isn't good, it is, but prices are akin to higher end city fare, which I'm not sure it quite gets to. However, you have to realise somewhere this remote can act as a price maker, not price taker.

Navutu Stars is truly PARADISE!!!

Absolutely stay here! My wife and I were for for 5 days, and it was pure bliss! Upon arrival you are greeted by the entire staff, with a complimentary cocktail and even a complimentary massage for 20 minutes (although all the guests staying agreed with us that we were all spoiled and it was more like 30-40 minutes!)!!! This place is perfect: It is very safe (and safe's are in every bure) we stayed in the beach front bure and faced the beautiful lagoon! We did the snorkeling activities and we did scuba dives with Blue Lagoon Dive shop. Navutu Stars organized our pick up/drop off and whatever we inquired about doing, they made it happen with such ease! We even did a dinner on the sun deck (no roof and you can see all the stars!), and I highly recommend this! It was wonderful and everyone here truly goes the extra mile and makes you feel like you are family. One day we did not do a dive/snorkel/excursion, and we just decided to chill out and it was so relaxing! My husband did the coral excavation and helped plant coral and he said this was very educational and so fun! We even were able to walk and see the Yaqeta village, and it was so fun and peaceful! This hotel is all about luxury and relaxation. I wish we could come here all the time, it is truly PARADISE!!! Absolutely stay here!!! It is worth it!!!

Wonderful place for our 7 nights. Such a friendly,relaxed and casual place. Exceptional service from staff. Plenty to do or nothing at all - it's up to you.
We definitely recommend the Yasawa Islands. We have been to Fiji several times & the Yasawas is our favourite place. We'll easily go back to Navutu Stars Resort too.
It only has 10 Bures..!!!
We met some lovely guests too, which always makes a holiday good.

We had a fabulous time at Navutu Stars! The combination of peace, tranquility and beauty of the bure and location, with the warmth, friendliness and attentiveness of the lovely staff, made for a relaxing and really enjoyable experience. We could just completely chill out and have private time, or join in on the daily excursions and activities available. We really valued too the interaction with the local village, attending a rugby game and chatting with the children. And very much like the support the resort provides the village on an ongoing basis. We found some incredibly good coral reef snorkeling too.We had a truly wonderful time.

In a pretty setting, but with no usable beach, mud flats at low tide, sand flies and mosquitoes, staff excellent, food was good but no variety. Rooms were basic, concrete furniture covered with cushions, bed had a big comfortable mattress that needed replacing. Very few amenities, and they charged in American dollars adding about 30% to our final bill

Perfection in paradise

From the moment you arrive to departure everything is perfection and everyone is friendly and willing to do anything it takes to make your stay with them full of great memories. Reality of the resort is even better than the photos. Cannot recommend this enough the personal touches and the family feel is something to treasure that you just can never get from large resorts. This is the best place to go in fiji.

Stayed for 6 nights with Family while celebrating my birthday. It was a fantastic experience. Offers tranquility and very personal service in a beautiful location. All staff were very friendly. We stayed in Garden Bure 2. Very spacious and private with a small and \"personal\" beach just a few steps away. Would definitely recommend this one. Went for a few snorkelling expeditions. There are quite a number of beautiful coral reefs in the area. Staff baked me a cake for my birthday. They also arranged a small ceremony where they sang a traditional birthday song. Very special and memorable.

The food was amazing! The restaurant and hotel was owned by Italians, so it was the best Italian food ever. It was the best food we had in Fiji!
The woman who gave massage was so good, the best massage I've had in years. Well worth the food in the massage!!! It is a very private place
Water and snorkeling is amazing and the owners and staff were just great!

Brilliant Barefoot Beachfront Boutique Resort

If you are looking for a barefoot romantic break look no further. A 30 minute seaplane ride from Nadi airport (Pacific International and Turtle Airways) gives you one or two extra nights at your resort and gives you a beautiful start and end to your trip.

Beachfront Bures are large and comfortable with a huge bed, bathroom, seating area and minibar. Lie in your bed and watch the waves lap the shore, bored move to your daybed, loungers or hammock with a different perspective on paradise!

Food was marvelous - freshly cooked with mainly local ingredients, Dinner is available in the waterfront terrace, on your own bure terrace or on the sunset deck - so romantic! You will also be asked to choose you dinner to allow the purchasing and preparation in advance which makes for a relaxing dinner. Spectacular fish and seafood. Continental breakfast is included - beautiful fruit platter, toast muffins and pancakes and a small charge allows you to upgrade to a cooked breakfast.

Two or three daily activities are organised, but if they aren't to your liking arrange your own snorkeling or sightseeing trips we the friendly activities crew. Try snorkeling at Whisky reef for the coral and 'Blue Lagoon beach' for the fish, if you stay still the fish will come to you!

The daily cocktail is highly recommended especially anything that melts - a small well stocked bar with fabulous bar staff can whip up anything you might wish for.

You will return home truly relaxed!
