Regarding a recent stay at the Days Inn Princeton location on Meadow Field Lane:

•The room did not have comforters on the beds and provided no additional linens. The beds had a top sheet and the protective over cover, no comforter.
•There were no washcloths provided
•There was excessive noise until after 1am. Outside of my room on the ground level there was what appeared to be a semi-permanent ATV repair shop set up. People were loud and using power tools until after 1am.
•The room seemed to be in the middle of a repair and potentially should have been held from use.
•There was a used tube of toothpaste left on the counter.
•The packaging on complimentary soap was torn and mostly missing.

Room needed a deep clean. I went barefoot and my feet were black from the floors. Toilet seat was not firmly attached. Toilet wobbled. Water pressure was poor. NO exterior sign lights at all. No exterior light over many room doors. Fridge barely worked. No coffee maker. No cups to drink water. No place to put soap after washing your hands. Towel bar should be firmly attached to the wall. Grab bars should be in ALL ROOMS.

My husband was having surgery on Tuesday morning. When we checked in we were set for 2 days thru hotels.com. the manager was very helpful getting us fixed. Hotels.com was NOT! ANYWAY...when checked in manager left a personal note wishing us well and sorry for the troubles in billing and left us a sweet gift. I will always remember their hospitality. Wonderful experience!

Room didn’t look anything like the picture. Plain gray room with cement walls. No pictures hanging. Floor was extremely dirty. We were traveling with an 11 month old and after being in the car all day I let her crawl around for a few minutes in the room. Within minutes her pants and feet were almost black. No bathtub which was showed in photos. We were put in a joining room next to a room that had 5 grown men yelling at each other and slamming doors. Also they advertised free breakfast but at check in they said it was just a granola bar and coffee. We only stayed 15 then booked the Hampton next door which was much better

When I came to my room which had a door to the outside the door was open. Like someone had propped it open. I carefully went inside and saw that it was safe then I went to close the door and it did not want to close so I had to kick it closed and then set the locks. The room appeared to be clean however the microwave did not work and there was no toilet paper. I was exhausted and used the tissues for toilet paper. I did not feel comfortable getting under the covers so I just took a blanket and slept on top of the bed.

Next day attendant was about the best thing. She had a good attitude, hotel overall was not satisfactory. Bugs in the sink, faucet handle that kept coming off, a bed that moved with you and a heating system that smelled like something was burning. Also and most importantly they advertised breakfast. Literally all they offered was a granola bar and coffee.!

The room was nasty.the floors were completely black. Looked as of they used the same mop water for each room. We got into the shower just after being there 2hrs with bare fewt and the towel sas black from where we stepped on it. they advertised a pool and continental breakfast. Neither was available. The outside light flickered hardly worked was extremely dark and sketchy. There wasnt enough plugs. There wasnt towels or trash cans or ammenities like a coffee maker in the room. The lobby was under renovation with no sign of pardon our dust or renovations. There was dust and boxes every where.
No exhaust fans in bathroom smoke detector went off bc of the shower.

The first room was not cleaned and had to change rooms that room the key wouldn’t work so we had to change again and in that room the tv would not work and there was one wash rag pretty bad in the morning went to check out and no one around I walked around looking but no one so I left the card key on the counter and left. We had just finished a 12hr drive and just wanted to sleep, if this was not the case we would have left the hotel. Got there around 10 pm at night. Had caution tape around front door to desk. Asked front lady to look at room before we stayed. Said if we didn’t like they give a full refund. Sent me to room 217 to check room out. Room was dirty and nasty. Where air conditioning heating combination. Supposed to be below window was missing out of the room. You could clearing see to the outside. So it was an unsecured room. Went back down to front desk. Lady said the would refund me. Said she didn’t know the unit was missing. Also believe there was some illegal activity going on. Because we pulled into hotel and people ran into their rooms. Would not recommend this for any family ever.

The staff is friendly and tries to accommodate for the poor and run down condition of the property. I was one business and had to change rooms as the electrical outlets didn't work. The location is convenient but there are many higher end newer motels/hotels practically next door. I would not book there again or recommend it to friends based on the condition of the property.

Stopped in for a quick night while traveling cross country. After check-in we headed to our room, and found the stairway and hallways pitch black - no sense of safety or security, let alone being able to find your way easily. The room itself appeared to be under construction - no TV or coffee maker, missing furniture. Trim pieces around the room were missing but with all the exposed nails still there, and there were paint splatters all over the floor. Oddly enough, the beds were made as if it were ready for guests. I asked the front desk if we were assigned the wrong room, but they weren't sure since housekeeping had marked it as ready. We were reassigned to a handicap accessible room, which was good since you could clearly hear all the expressway traffic from the original room. The accessible room had all the things missing in the original room, but it too had issues - dirty / stained sheets, flat lumpy pillows, bloody mattress cover, and one rather dim lamp intended to marginally illuminate the entire room, etc. If I was handicapped, I would have been disappointed to know that the one dim lamp wasn't reachable from the bed. Finally, I booked and paid for this room on a third party app, but on the credit card used for incidentals, there's a hold for a very specific amount, so hopefully that drops off in a few days. On this trip we were looking for a room for the night in a hurry, but next time we'll likely just use one of our go-to hotels another half hour down the road.

My first night, they stuck me in a room where you can hear the heater down in the lobby. They moved me, but then I came back a second night.
Then, in the 3rd night, they put me in a room, the heater was also audible from the lobby, with a burn 3 inches long on the sink, the TV would freeze on every channel, no towels, no soap, not even a light in the batroom, and THE DOOR WOULDN'T EVEN SHUT. If not for the little swing over to allow the door to open a little the door wouldnt have shut at all.
I then learned that just a couple of rooms down, was another room where the door wouldn’t shut. The lady staying inside was older and I can't believe they thought it was okay for her to stay in such a room.
At one point, I went down to the lobby to get a coke, around 3 a.m. Nobody was behind the counter. I finally found him outside smoking and he actually made me wait about 6 or 7 minutes while he finished smoking for me to buy a Coke.
Then, once my trip was extended, they found another room for me, which was decent at best, with the wallpaper lifting off. I had a friend who has been here helping me with my house, who come over to ride in with me, and is a smoker. She smokes, but not inside. 2 of the workers there have seen her outside smoking even remarking on how good what she was smoking smelled. I, on the other hand don't smoke.

So after putting me in rooms where the heater you can hear in the lobby, the front door doesn't lock pr even close, the bathroom light doesn't come on the TV freezes on every channel, they felt the need to charge me $200 because they found Ashes in my room. All they have to do is check to cameras and they could see that my accomplice smokes outside.

1 yr. Ago i was eager to give this exact room a much higher rating... since that stay this room has done a 180°. Nice patterned berber carpet, is now decent linoleum that appeared clean but unfortunately turned my 3 kids feet and mine solid black for 6 days. The suite, only suite they offer, last yr. Was also staged nicely with nice furnishings, as well as color coordinated walls. Some of the furniture remains, and shoved along walls that are now all white. They have also started long term renting to tennants, which unfortunately made our direct neighbors a couple with an alcoholic husband and a battered wife. My children were exposed to things we have spent 17 years protecting them from. This couple argued 24/7 and he only put his hands on x 1 that we are aware. The staff was good to us and did move the couple to another room. Unfortunately this hotel has changed clientele and we can no longer stay here.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit skeptical. However, I realized upon arrival that my room was super clean, no musty smell as stated in the reviews. I did not see any bugs, spiders, or critters of any kind. This is a nice peaceful place to stay. Kind of a country feel to it, not overcrowded. I have stayed at other motels in both Bluefield and Princeton and this is by far my choice from now on. Not a 5 star but definitely clean and the beds are very comfortable and I slept well. Me and my friend stayed for 3 nights and never worried for our safety. So give it a try I promise it’s much better than Quality Inn by Choice Hotels.

Room floor was filthy. My white socks were black from the dirt. The wi-fi wasn't available. No extra roll of toilet paper. No microwave. The bed was actually bowed in the middle, very soft and uncomfortable. The TV remote wasn't working properly. The TV picture was bad and cut in and out. I told the clerk in the morning and he said he was just in the room the day before. Did he not notice any of the problems? Also, the faucet in the bathroom was dripping loose and the plunger was disconnected.
The clerk checking me in was wearing a NRA hat. The workplace is not a place to wear such an inappropriate symbol. Just that day a coward attacked an church school and killed 2 children and injured 17 others.
Stay someplace else. The management has no clue what is wrong with their rooms and don't check them obviously to make sure everything is properly functioning. They expect the guests to tell them, I am not employed by them, it is their job to make sure their property is suitable for guests.

2 of the lights in the room did not work. The TV did not work. The room was dirty. The bathroom and sink drain were very slow to drain. The staff were courteous and did what they could. The entire building was in the process of being renovated but the room was likely in the list. They should shut the whole thing down to get it done. The price was better compared to other hotels.

Budget Friendly, Many Strings Attached

My room had a serious fruit fly problem. Stayed for 3 nights and my room was not serviced (bed made, trash taken out) during my entire stay. We did not get a room. When we arrived, the front desk person was not there. We waited at least 20 to 30 minutes all of the doors to the hotel we’re open we called the days in 100 number they called the front desk to try to get the girl to come to the front desk to no avail. When we did finally get Skyler to come to the front desk, she said that she had canceled our reservation because we reserved it too close to midnight and that there were no rooms available and there was nothing we could do. The phone number said that they had to confirm that this situation was true, but the phones were not working. I would like a refund and compensation because I had to drive four more hours in the middle of the night to my destination

We stayed in the hotel over the weekend for an archery shoot in the area. We booked for a cheap rate, and we’re not expecting much. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was great, just needed a place to shower and lay our heads down for the night. Customer Service was great, our door keys/lock wasn’t working, and the staff was very helpful working that out. I did wish cleaning service came during the day to give us fresh towels and toiletries, but they did not.
