I love this hotel. This is the third time I have stayed there. The friendliness and the wonderful staff bring me back each time. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. The rooms are small (typical of hotel rooms in Paris) but very comfortable. The bonus for me is that the room’s French doors open to a small balcony where we could sit and enjoy the area’s ambience.
The breakfast (now a small buffet) is very good.
This very French hotel is really delightful. I’ll be back for another stay.

Arrived to find they had no record of our booking that was booked and paid for through Expedia. The hotel staff were helpfull in finding us a room at an alternative hotel, but this was not in the same area of Paris which was extremely disappointing and inconvenient. Expedia were extremely unhelpful in offering any compensation, we will not be using this platform again for booking accommodation.

Upon check-in, we found the hotel charming with a nostalgic, old-school vibe. My wife and I booked three nights under my name. The room was small but functional — cold AC, hot water, and a comfortable queen bed. Since we spent most of our time exploring Paris, the room size wasn’t an issue.
On our final night, we returned to the hotel around 2 AM after a long day out, only to be told we couldn’t access our room due to a supposed single-occupancy rule. This was surprising, as it was our third night there with no prior mention of this restriction. I asked to see where this policy was stated and was shown something in French. I apologized, offered to add my wife to the reservation and pay any extra charges, but was told the hotel was fully booked and we had to leave immediately — no refund, no alternative, no assistance.
While I acknowledge the importance of reading the fine print, the lack of communication and inflexibility at such a late hour was unacceptable. It completely derailed our final night in Paris.

Negatives: Very compact.

The hotel is in an great location, it was an easy walk to Notre Dame and on to the rest of Paris. There are lots of lovely places to eat nearby.
The staff were all friendly and very accommodating of our our poor french.
We stayed on the top floor which gave us lovely views from the balcony. The room itself was very compact, especially the bathroom, I am 6 foot tall and barely fit between the toilet and the wall.
Despite being small, the room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
Overall we had a great time here and would happily stay again.

This is a charming small hotel on the Rive Gauches. Staff is friendly and English is spoken. Rooms are immaculate. The shower was the best of my 3 week trip to Europe. Rooms are small but I have stayed in much smaller ones and paid more. The breakfast was good, although for the price, I’d you’ve got the time you may enjoy a cafe just as well. Easy one block walk to Metro and buses/taxis easily available across the street.

The Familia Hotel was great. We had a wonderful stay. The employees were helpful, the room was nice and the location was amazing. Everything was perfect. There were coffee places and restaurants nearby, a cool bar across the street, a small supermarket, bakery and pharmacy on the same block. The two metro stations were just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We walked to other nice neighbourhoods. It was all very convenient and safe.

Perfect Hotel - Excellent Location!

Our family had such a lovely stay at Familia Hotel. Location was fantastic- walking distance to Notre Dame and the Louvre. The lift was helpful, the rooms were very comfortable, with excellent beds, and we even had a balcony and mini-fridge. The cleaners really go above and beyond when servicing the rooms and everything was sparkling clean. Guest services staff were kind and gracious from checkin with Wilson who was friendly and efficient, to helpful Fatima the breakfast staff, and the lovely lady working the front desk in the morning (sorry, I didn’t catch her name). We will absolutely seek out this hotel for our next stay in Paris and you should too!

This location is great - short walk to Pantheon and easy bus access to other sights
If you are looking for quiet, this is not the place - several restaurants and bars are very close and very noisy but fun area
The rooms are very small with limited amenities
Breakfast is a cost but a great deal- I recommend

The staff were great, the location is very easy to get to via transit (about 2 blocks away from the metro station).
The complimentary breakfast was a basic French breakfast, could not complain. The shower has really high water pressure which was nice, but finding the correct temp was a bit of a task. Very satisfied with our stay at this hotel, will definitely consider returning if I ever visit Paris in the future.

My stay was pleasant. The location of the hotel is terrific; a popular, but not too busy main street , close to 2 Metro stations., and close to many tourist attractions in that Arrondisment. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. All of the staff were pleasant.

I don’t like to complain but I feel I have to warn others about this place. The place is horrible. The rooms are so small you can’t open your suitcase and when you walk into the room you’re already against the wall. You can’t even open the bathroom door properly because of how small it is, it’s dusty and I’ve got an allergy to dust so it killed me staying the one night that I did. It has none of the complementaries a hotel gives e.g. coffee, water, etc. The guy at the desk when I checked in was pretty rude. Although the woman when I checked out was ace! She was so nice.

They don’t provide small toiletries and their towns are a joke. They’re so small you can’t even wrap them around you. As for the comfort of the bed? It’s uncomfortable it’s hard as a rock and the so called pillow they gave was so flat and small that it felt like I was sleeping on the mattress if you can call it that because it felt like a rock.

The hallways are so small you can’t move your suitcase and when you come out of your room you’re face to face with somebody else’s door.

My stay here was absolutely rotten. I want to thank the kind lady that was there when I checked out because her kindness made me feel a little better.

I have stayed at this hotel before. It was wonderful. A perfect small hotel and a great location HOWEVER We were to return this last week. The hotel was closed. And they would not refund our money. They could not provide the service that we paid for. It cost us about $2500. This is wrong. If Hotel Familia changes their mind and at least gives us a voucher, I will happily change my review.

I know it’s Paris but the room was very small. Not totally clean in corners too. The 3rd bed (for our son) had giant sofa pillows but there was literally no where to put them... So we squeezed them under the bed. The only good thing was a bath. No coffee etc in the room. Lift was minuscule. I had paid upfront & was still charged for my room, which wasn’t my room the lady thought she heard 43 when
in fact I had said 53 (3 times). I’m still waiting for this to be returned into my bank. :(

Very well situated little hotel right in the middle of the Latin quarter. A typical hotel of Paris , little rooms and tiny hallways. We had the 5th floor the first time which was not easy with all our luggage but offered rooftop views of Paris ! The second time we had the room on the ground floor which was bigger. Do check which level you are on if you are of a certain age with a lot of cases. The day staff were lovely and very helpful. They made our stay that little bit more personal .

The day staff was exceptional! Them and the breakfast made this stay great. We LOVED the breakfast and coffee! The evening/night staff (male with glasses) is not helpful at all. We needed toilet paper so he went to their lobby bathroom and grabbed a roll with hardly any left to give us. Other than that, the room was small but perfectly manageable. Clean. The view was wonderful. The beds were very uncomfortable and had imprints (or huge dip) that made you sink in the middle but we were so tired from traveling it only bothered us as we tried to fall asleep. All in all, I wouldn't say I wouldn’t stay here again but I may consider another place to see if we could get a better stay.

Great location! Short walk to Notre Dame and the St Michel -Notre Dame metro station. However, the bathroom shower tiles need a good scrubbing, however. We skipped the breakfast as there is a bakery directly across the street and numerous markets nearby. The rooms are small but this is worth it for the price and location.

We have stayed in 2 star hotels before in France and they were excellent. We were a little disappointed when we saw our room. It was not the size, as we expected a small room, it was the carpets which looked at least 30 years old !!
The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable with good linen.
We would not stay again even though the staff were very pleasent.

This hotel is wonderfully located in Latin Quarter, short walk to River Seine and 3 metro stations, on a street full of bookshops, with many cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as botanic gardens. The hotel is compact, with traditional decor, wall murals and tapestries but it also has an elevator, air conditioning in each room, and a vending machine which provides surprisingly good drinks, hot and cold.

The service is warm, friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast is generous and delicious.
Our small attic room had french doors to its own balcony, from which you could see and hear Notre Dame cathedral.

Hotel is in a great location within walking distance of many major sites of Paris (minus the Eiffel Tower). Rooms are tiny, but that was expected as per the hotel photos. A comfortable bed and a good night's sleep after a whirlwind day of sightseeing. Staff was pleasant.

We loved this place. The room decor was very modern with interesting lights and features. The front desk guy was so nice and helpful. Eager to help with anything we asked: Restaurant recommendations and even lent us a corkscrew and wine glasses and stored a bottle of wine in their frig to chill it for us. Nice location as well. Breakfast was good too (aren’t they all in France?!)

We spent 1 night in Hotel Familia. It is in a great location. Less than 5 minutes walking to Notre Dame. Lots of resturants and bars nearby. Close to the metro and a safe neighborhood.
The staff was professional and friendly. The room was quite nice considering it is a 2 star hotel. The air conditioning was great.

I love this little hotel!

I don't understand why it is a 2 star....yes, the rooms are small..but it is Paris!..everything (except the Louvre) is small...flower shops, restaurants, cafes. The rooms are an 'enough' size..you aren't in them that much except to sleep. The bathroom is nice and clean; the sheets are wonderful, the windows open a marvelous street view or a court yard.It is a perfect location for the Latin Quarter and Metro and buses everywhere! The 7 Euro b'fast is a lot! and cute little area with nice table settings and lovely lady to serve you. The desk people are SO helpful and thoughtful. And the price is right!!!!!! Charming and welcoming!!

Pictures were nothing like the room. The rooms were tiny broken pieces. The pictures showed us a balcony the room with the balcony was unavailable so the staff told us too bad . We ended up not staying and they were reluctant to refund us our money. The chairs in the lobby were dirty and outdated. Horrible experience!

This is an inexpensive hotel in a good location. The room has kept a more authentic french charm, while it still has air conditioning and a renovated bathroom. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Only a block away from the metro, it is a convenient location to get around Paris. A roman arena, now a park, is tucked away just a few blocks away.
