The rooms are nice and cozy and clean however the bath robes could have been more cleaner as I found other people’s hair on them. That said everything else was great. The rooms were nice and cozy although I really think they should’ve put water for guests in a five star resort there really should’ve been bottled water there is nothing.
The breakfast was great many options available breathtaking views the ball was great as well. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel although I was out for most of the morning and evening for well spent at the hotel.

Excellent stay, they upgraded my single room to double and let me check in early when I arrived at noon. The staff is excellent, everyone at the property would say hello. The spa was wonderful. The breakfast was great. Honestly enjoyed the stay throughly. I stayed in late November solo female, highly recommend for a staycation.

The hotel structure and decor is very authentic to the region. The interior is very dated and tons of steps everywhere, including in my room to get to the bathroom, there were two steps. In the middle of the night that’s a hazard. Steps everywhere, in the dining room, in the spa, not handicap accessible that’s for sure. The pool is nice and the lounge chairs around the indoor pool are facing the Eiger which can’t be beat. However no outdoor hot tub nor indoor hot tub. Actually they have a private indoor hot tub for an additional fee of 120chf for an hour and upon reservation only. Franky, when you’re spending upwards of $1200 a night you shouldn’t have to pay extra to use the hot tub after a day of hiking or skiing. The sauna and steam room were nice. They don’t provide shower caps in the room nor did they replenish the cotton swabs etc. however the interior courtyard is very pretty and romantic. Dinners were delicious and on a high standard very fresh. However there were flies around the cheeses during breakfast. Also the rooms don’t have a/c so be prepared. We slept with the windows open. Staff is all very nice and it’s across the steeet from the train station. Seems like the hotel specializes in groups such as Backroads.

Arrived at the Hotel and the staff could not be more feiendly and helpful. Absolutely beautiful property with a swiss feel. Room was great , indoor pool with Sauna and showers . Restaurant was amazing and probably our best meal in Switzerland. Perfectly located right at the beginning of all the restaurants and shops in Grindenwald. Walk out the door and two minutes you are in the heart of everything. Walked to Grindenwald First as well.

Would highly recommend and absolutely stay there again.

The hotel is located at a convenient place where is walking to train station and street around 2-3 minutes. The foods at hotel are delicious with excellent services. The view is very beautiful. It is only suggested the hotel inside should put more lights or directions to guide the customer.

Ultimate Luxury in the beautiful town of Grindelwald and in lap of Swiss Alps. Most of the Rooms face the magnificent Eiger. Well spread breakfast every day. Good Dinning Options on the Menu. Swiss hospitality at its best with warmth and smile. Very comfortable stay. Great Spa.

The location is excellent amidst the alps but the rooms are far and disconnected. NO lift in some places. The phone was not working. the fridge was locked and no water was kept. Bath shower gel had not been filled up.

Charming hotel with good breakfast and lots of dining options. 5 min walk from the Grindelwald station.
I injured my knee skiing at Jungfrau and went to to local doctor. The hotel was able to send a car to pick me up. They also took our family to the train station at checkout.

Wonderful stay

This is such a beautiful hotel. All the staff are professional, warm and welcoming. The room was gorgeous and spacious with excellent amenities and great views. The extras like handwritten notes, travel recommendations and helpful advice about visiting Grindelwald were icing on the cake.

The room was very dated. Ancient TV that did not work properly. Leaking faucet. Uncomfortable bed. 7 francs for a small bottle of still water. It looks like the room has not been renovated for at least 10 years.

Loved everything about this place! Our room faces the front of the hotel and looked right out at the Eiger. The room was clean and comfy. The staff was very attentive and helpful. I would recommend this property to a friend and I hope I have the chance to go back!

Rooms were spacious and balconies allowed great views. The bedding was not up to standard I expected with pillows extremely uncomfortable. I would recommend bringing your own pillows. Requested toothpaste for two rooms and were provided a single small toothpaste. No charging converters provided on requesting. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff very friendly.

2. Staff: When we first asked how turn on the fireplace, the staffs answered that it is just a model. After we noticed it is not a model, however, they finally turned on it within a second. Their attitude was so terrible.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at the hotel. Traveling single, I had a lot of questions, and the staff at the desk fielded them all and were very helpful.
The hotel is conveniently located about 3 minutes from the train station, so you do not have to walk far.
The morning breakfast offered was a great way to start your day. I did eat at the hotel restaraunt one evening during my stay. The food was delicious. (I am more of a simple fare kind of person, so Iate in bars for dinner in town) However, I would return in the evening and have an after dinner coffee in the lounge.
The only 'negative' is the bath. I am used totaking showers. You are offered a nice, deep tub. (great if you want to take a bath) There is a hand held shower attatchment, but manuevering and changing hands while cleaning made for a mess.
Other than that, I was very satisfied with my stay. If I come back to Grindlewald, I would stay at the Schweizerhof again.

Perfect place to enjoy variety of Swiss Alps

We like to hike and did three including the long hike at the Jungfraujoch(mandatory). Lauternbrunnen Valley leisurely stroll back to town from the waterfall(take the bus to the waterfall) but the best was gondola from Grindelwald to First and then hike to Grosse Scheidegg. have a nice meal at the restaurant and then hike down to Oberer Hotel or just catch the bus. Great way to end our trip to Switzerland. Trains are the way to go for sure. no rental car needed for our 10 days around Switzerland.

The assign seating for breakfast and will not change it, regardless! The rooms are not worth the price we paid and should not be given a 4 star. THe lobby was updated, along with a few rooms, but the rest is aged and outdated! Would not return. Staff was not flexible nor were they helpful.

Outstanding space, wonderful location -- I called a taxi from the train station and was told it was just a few steps away...it was. The spa services were great and were easy to book last-minute. The breakfast buffet, which was included in my excellent rate, was amazing -- a wide array of cheeses, freshly baked bread that was still warm, cold cuts, eggs, bacon, many different teas to choose from, lovely fruits etc. etc..The chef's meals were pricey but exquisite. Overall, probably the best hotel I've stayed at in Europe for a very reasonable price.

Cute little family owned hotel in the heart of the Alps.

This hotel was very conveniently located, right in the heart of the Alps, and very close to the train stops. We took the half-board plan, with breakfast and dinner included. Breakfasts were very good and hearty but dinners became a bit boring until one of the waiters told us about the vegetarian menu. Best bet. Chambermaids were very stingy with soaps and towels. We had to keep asking for refills and new towels just about each morning. Charging for coffee after a dinner meal, which was included in the cost of our room, was very cheap. But overall, views from some of the rooms are outstanding and we did, for the most part, have a very pleasant time here. Would probably recommend.

Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof-Grindelwald

This hotel was fabulous! It is in an absolutely beautiful location. We could see the mountains right from our window. We stayed in a Junior Apartment, which was perfect for our family. The staff was very nice, our room was very clean, and the breakfast was excellent. We could walk to the train station and the town in minutes. We would stay at this hotel again in a minute. Our whole family loved this hotel!

Perfect Swiss Hotel - rivaled the mountain views

Gorgeous hotel - extremely well maintained and appointed. Public areas were fantastic. The half board dinners were culinary art pieces -- six course beautifully presented. Service was impeccable. Owners were visible. This hotel is just off the main train station with beautiful views. The wellness center had four different sauna rooms and a \"winter\" room with \"snow flakes\". Perfect way to end a long day hiking. We are returning.

There are a good number of really nice features at this hotel - very friendly and accomodating service staff, absolutely central location, modern and roomy new suites. The food is also at a high standard. The breakfast is fine, with a good selection of bread and basic cheeses and hams. What is really nice is the offer to order eggs and espresso coffees. The main part of the hotel is very old-fashioned. Cosy, but also tired. There is a new sauna and steam area that is quite nice, but far too small for such a large hotel. And there are absolutely no facilities for children, except for a rundown, moldy area with a ping-pong table, billiard and a bowling alley.

Hotel is in a great position however some of the staff leave alot to be desired. They were very arrogant. Not to mention their \"internet\" not being available as they had a conference in house - so the rest of us had to miss out getting emails etc. It is a really nice Hotel, but the rooms need updating badly...

You can see the hotel as your train pulls into the little town of Grindelwald. Very convenient to Jungfrau and lots of day hikes. Set in a garden and not right on the street. Rooms were newly renovated, superior standard for 3 people opening to a patio with stunning view of Eiger.Request a room facing South! We did half board and had lovely meals. No A/c, so rooms could get stuffy as we were there during a warm spell. Pool, bowling alley and ping pong for kids. Spa and massage for grown ups. Staff was extremely helpful and spoke excellent English.
