Absolutely Gorgeous ryad in the heart of the Medina, yet easily accessible by foot. The property is perfectly cured and maintained, beautifully furnished with antiques and opens onto a planted courtyard with pool. We enjoyed copious breakfasts and dinner served in Limoges' Porcelain dishes, by the live fire place. But what makes this place special, is the quality of the staff, which has been absolutely wonderful, helpful (they organized a night transfer to the airport and even had time to serve us a quick breakfast...all in the middle of the night) and attentive to all our needs, always smiling and available. Thank you Ryad Salama for making our stay such a wonderful and memorable one!

Safe. Clean. Welcoming. Easy access to/exit from the Medina. PEACEFUL. Good for the soul. Breakfast is like a gourmet feast, as is dinner (we ate there all three nights because of our schedule). Everything was fresh and they delighted us with new dishes and treats each evening. Then we would read while enjoying mint green tea (sweatened) in the lobby area (more like the living room of a really rich friend with great tastes in decor) or sit on our balcony. Entering Ryad Salama from the busy Medina is like an oasis/Time Machine combo! It is beautifully appointed from the courtyard garden/fountain to the the lobby/dining area to the bed chambers. As with all things, the staff and management make the experience, make you feel welcome and ensure a terrific stay, and they truly nailed it. Suggestion: take them up on the offer of a ride from the airport and a cart for your luggage. Eat dinner there at least once. And hire Jamal G (Tours by Locals) to take you through the Medina. Bottom line is that I loved it and cannot wait to come back.

This place was great. There was some confusion upon arrival as there was no one to help with our bags as other riads had porters. We finally got help with cost 20 MAD and we ended up having to pay him 100 MAD and the hotel did not help break our bills into smaller bills - so just be aware. The bar was probably the best part of the experience. The only thing that was awful was the kids staying at the riad - this is not their fault however the screaming of these kids would echo is the small garden area and then the screaming of their parents made it even worse. I don’t know what the riad could do about that but we were glad we were leaving and felt bad for the other guests. The breakfast is way too bit and I worry a lot of the food goes to waste.

Book this gorgeous Ryad and feel like royalty. My lovely room had an unexpected sitting area and a small balcony. Each meal was superb and the Moroccan salad items differed each day. Try the onsite Hammam bath and massage offering for a unique and relaxing experience. The staff was very supportive and will assist you with any questions. High recommendation..

The staff were fantastic. It space was very sophisticated and felt like each staff member took an interest in our comfort while in their care. The property is large, with a serene courtyard. One thing to consider is that cars are not allowed in the medina so there is a walk from the drop off point, although there are individuals with carts that can help transport baggage to the property

It was a beautiful getaway in the heart of the old city. Clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing Abdul Lateef in particular was so kind and accommodating. The hotel arranged suhoor for us. The room was huge! I highly recommend this Riyad and would stay here again.

We loved our stay. Clean, comfortable, Beautiful, excellent location. It was quite an a perfect place to relax after traveling the exciting streets and shops. Pool was beautiful but didn’t use it in Jan. They had an amazing breakfast and even provided gluten free treats for me on the second day (I have celiac disease). Would love to stay again if we ever get the opportunity to return for another visit.

What a beautiful place to stay. It was so tranquil. The staff were friendly and attentive. I almost didn’t want to go out it was so nice. I highly recommend it. Make sure you get a walking guide to the Riad when you enter the Medina and tip them well. You might get lost without one. WiFi isn’t good, but that’s just the way it is in the Medina. It’s not the Riad’s fault.

We stayed in over 7 properties during a 2 week trip. This was our favorite. The room was huge and stunningly decorated. The riad grounds were lush- I awoke every morning to a chorus of birds singing. Staff were so kind and attentive and the daily breakfast was delicious. It was a beautiful refuge from the busy medina. Highly recommend!

Riad Salama is a paradise in the heart of the Fes Medina. The pictures don't do it justice. Michel accommodated a late check-in and warmly welcomed us to the Riad as well as provided several great recommendations. The room felt like home, with a comfortable living area and private balcony overlooking the exquisite courtyard. The complimentary breakfast was served with the freshest of ingredients. Highly recommend a night in for dinner at the Riad- local cuisine with exquisite culinary presentation. While we were traveling as a couple, this Riad was also family appropriate because it was extremely quiet and had larger rooms for families. Not to mention the three friendly turtles that come out to sun in the morning.

Ryad Salama is a lovely Ryad on a quiet street, a couple of minutes walk from the main hustle and bustle of the Medina. Our room was very comfortable and spacious with an adjacent sitting area and a small balcony overlooking the common area. The common area is wonderful--open-air with lots of trees and a small swimming pool that was very refreshing after a hot day of sightseeing. The continental breakfast was delicious, and the wifi very reliable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Very nice and professional. The A/C worked really well, unlike other places in Morocco. After we checked out, I received an email stating that the cleaning lady found jewelry in our room, and they even mailed the jewelry to me in the US. Wow- Ryad Salama is a dream! My husband and I have been traveling for 9 weeks and this was by far our favorite place. It’s stunningly beautiful, comfortable, clean, spacious, and the staff is very responsive and helpful. Our room was large (more like a suite) and we loved having a private balcony for reading. Having breakfast and dinner in the garden were lovely, and we enjoyed being able to get a beer or a bottle of wine in our downtime. We didn’t want to leave!

A gem of a place
What a beautiful ryad (the photos don't do it full justice) and we had a great stay. We were made very welcome by Yolanda and the team, and were given a map and loads of information for the area which was very helpful. We were in the African room and it was very tastefully appointed with a separate seating area and a furnished patio looking onto the courtyard and was very comfortable. The courtyard has a lovely plunge pool with sun-loungers and is full of beautiful green foliage and orange tress. The ryad also has a furnished rooftop terrace which I suspect some guests were unaware of because they stayed only a couple of days, whereas we were there for a week. The breakfast was served in the courtyard and was delicious with something different every morning. The evening meal on the first day was also very good and tasty and excellent value.
The location is ideal because it's quiet even though it's in between the two main thoroughfares through the medina, and it's safe. There are loads of restaurants nearby and there's also plenty of sightseeing opportunities within easy walking distance.
A must see is the fort/armouries overlooking the old town - it's worth the walk uphill because the view is great.
I would certainly recommend this ryad and would stay again. Yolanda and the team were so pleasant and helpful, so much so that when we left and couldn't find a taxi immediately Yolanda offered to take us to the train station herself - not many people would be so generous.

This was an absolutely stunning place to stay, the staff were polite and professional and the courtyard is a little piece of heaven. The manager was wonderful, the pool was out of service while we were there and without prompting she arranged a special evening meal for us to compensate for the loss of its use. Ryad Salama was a lovely and cozy ryad in the heart of the Fes medina. It’s close to both main streets, lots of restaurants and you get to live like a local behind the old city wall. The only issue we had was an issue with the shower, which got fixed. Would recommend Ryad Salama if looking for a trip to Fes!

This is such a lovely Riad. It can be a little tricky to find initially, but you realize it’s not really difficult once you arrive (just a bit of a winding path). The staff are so gracious and helpful even with our wacky 2 and 4 year olds. We hope we’ll have a chance to return!

Lovely Riad that is Centrally Located in Medina
I arrived at this Riad after a long day of travel, and was greeted with mint tea. The manager walked me through the arrival process and she provided me with a map of the Medina, and offered dinner at the Riad if I wanted it. She also helped me set up a walking tour of the Media for the following day. The room was lovely -- with a small sitting room and balcony. The room was very clean and looked as if it had been decorated recently. There are two main streets in the Media, and this Riad was located between the two, making it very easy to navigate to the best sites, restaurants and shopping. I'd definitely recommend this Riad to anyone who will be traveling to Fes. It is great for families, couples or solo travelers like myself.

This riad located in the middle of the medina is beautiful and peaceful. It's an oasis in the middle of the lively medina of Fez. It's beautiful decorated, every furniture, rug, lamp, ceramic, has been chosen with very good taste and reminds you how rich is the moroccan culture. The room was huge, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and we had their moroccan dinner which was also good.

Room was fantastic and beautiful and opened onto my terrace facing a courtyard with pool. Had a deep walk-in bathtub. The bathtub was the size of a small pool. It was very culture stylish. The overall hotel was beautiful and very well maintained. My guide picked me up the first morning and he joined me for breakfast. He only had tea and a small piece of bread. I didn't eat breakfast the other 3 days. But upon checkout, I was still charged for his breakfast. I feel they shouldn't have charged me for his. I even had dinner that first night in the hotel and paid for both of us.

The ryad is located in the old Fes, right in the middle of the medina, with the easy access from the parking lot. The ryad has great staff always willing to help. We were leaving in mid nigh to catch the flight and the staff accompanied us to the parking to catch the transfer to the airport with breakfast prepared for us to take a way ... Really a nice gesture ... The garden is another story, you might not even know that you are in the middle of the buzzing medina ... stunning

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and has a ton of character. The central garden is filled with orange and lemon trees. In the morning they make a simple but lovely breakfast. Parking is complicated but they have porters to help you out so everything runs smoothly and works out well. One of the coolest places you can stay in Fez And the staff is beyond friendly.

Perfectly located between the 2 major streets (Kebira and Shrgine). Very easy to find. Tell the taxi driver to drop you off at Ain Azleten parking lot and the ryad is a few minutes away. I stayed in the aubergine room and it was big, comfortable, w great AC, and lovely balcony looking onto the patio. Not suitable for those unable to climb narrow spiral stairs. Included breakfast was great w eggs made to order. Dinner was delicious, bountiful, and well priced. Just tell the staff at breakfast time and you will have dinner ready that night. I suffer from gluten allergy and the staff catered to my needs. The maize cake and chocolate muffins were the best. The staff was very friendly, hospitable, and spoke English. My boyfriend got sick and they were very supportive and helpful. Yolanda (the supervisor), Azid, Amina and the rest of the crew took care of us like family. They make our trip a memorable one. I wished I never left Fez. Stay to this ryad and you won't be disappointed

Enchanted riad with exceptional service!
We are a family of 4 and had stayed at Riad Salama for 3 nights. The riad seems like a perfect little secret garden tuck away from the hustle and bustle of the Fes medina. We definitely had enjoyed our stay. As soon as we made our booking online, we had already got a personal email from the riad owner, giving us tips on the exact directions (we rented a car), the closest parking and all sorts of navigating tips. Iolanda was extremely helpful to all our queries on excursions, and had gone out of her way to help us on logistics dealing with our tour company we had booked separately.
We stayed in the family room for 4 ppl and it was very spacious even with our huge suitcases. A little bit hard to find the entrance at first (narrow alleys and numerous turns), but you can request for pickups from your location, and we also found it not so bad after walking the path several times. Additional highlight: breakfast was delicious too and staff in the riad were always so helpful on anything.

This is hands down one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at - it's a stunning riad with lovely staff. The room was very spacious and clean, with beautiful designs including the bathroom areas and the balcony has a great view of the riad. Our flight was in the evening and we were allowed to use the pool and and our room until then, which was incredibly helpful as we just wanted to relax from the hustle and bustle of the medina. The prices were also very reasonable. They also offer in-house hammam and massage. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting Fes!

Really Disappointing
While I had high hopes when we walked into the beautiful courtyard and had a friendly welcome from the owner, things turned out to be disappointing. First, our room smelled awful (like urine) with no resolution from the owner for our entire stay. We had to sleep with the window and doors open, otherwise were awoken by the smell. Second, the breakfast felt like a pile of leftovers from previous diners and the silverware severely old and dirty. Lastly and most disturbing, we were locked out of the hotel for nearly an hour at night. We rang the bell, called, emailed, texted, trying every form of communication possible, but were stuck in the dark alleys of Fez and approached by creepy people. Finally, with no other option, we kicked the door in.

I enjoyed everything about my visit. My room was beautifully decorated with authentic arts and crafts, and the bathroom was modern. The bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed the reading area and balcony. The courtyard and lounge were very pleasant places for quiet reading and contemplation. I travel frequently, and the Ryad Salama is one of the most fascinating places I have stayed on any continent. I hope to stay there again.

This is such a fantastic Riad. We had the Junior Suite and it was beautiful. It wasn't massive, but it was spacious, with a double bed with room on either side of the bed. It had a sofa and three comfortable chairs, a nice table and a beautiful balcony over looking the the gorgeous atrium with two deck chairs. The bath room was big and clean with fresh towels and bathrobes everyday!

Ryad Salama is a wonderful peaceful riad tucked away in the middle of the Fes medina. The location is perfect for exploring the medina and well marked to find your way back. Great romantic riad with all the amenities
Riad Itrane is the perfect place to get the medina experience with all of the comforts of a regular hotel. The riad is clean, peaceful and the staff speaks English, which is great because I don't speak French or Arabic. Breakfast is delicious in the mornings - make sure you try the berber-style eggs. The place is not far from the main square and easy to get to, but I would recommend utilizing the riad's transport service when you first arrive so that the porter can show you how to get there. At night, there are lights in the alley way to the riad so you don't have to worry about walking in the dark. The internet can be a little spotty, so try using it in the public areas of the riad. Another great thing about this place is that they are busy - during the 4 days we were there, we saw a lot of couples check in (and this place only has 10 rooms). And that's the other thing - this place is really romantic so make sure you bring your significant other.

This is a beautiful, clean and comfortable Riad. Our room was large and very well furnished. Additionally, the riad has a beautiful courtyard and a fantastic location so you can walk to most of the key places to see in Fez. The staff are all very kind and accommodating and although we had trouble with hot water one night I would definitely recommend this Riad.

Owner and staff were excellent very good value for money. In a good position in the Medina, and guides employed by the owner were very good. The Ryad itself was beautiful and the rooms well furnished. The only draw back was that in January it is difficult to warm the rooms. Had 2 meals at the Ryad which were varies a very tasty, and would recommend them. There is also a very good wine list both French and local.

I booked this ryad because of its central location in Fes and because of the very positive reviews on Expedia given by former visitors. I was not disappointed. This place is fabulous. The location is perfect for seeing the sights of the old city of Fes. e ryad itself has been superbly restored with great taste, the staff are friendly attentive and efficient, without being intrusive. The breakfasts were an event in themselves, evening meals (we ate in on 2 nights) were terrific (with wine). I could even have my preferred Gin + Tonic served to me in my room before dinner. We also availed of the massage and the hammam services provided.
