It was a tribal place inside the suk.. dirty place alot of stap no alivator….they dasnt wont to cancel the order and we look about another hotel… they dosent wont to give our driver to slip there.
A bad riad in a bed place ..dirty and ugly ettitud.
At the beginning we saw that you write that this riad is 5 stars and luxury… it’s fake…we write to you but there is no answer . We ask our mony back!!!!!

Of all the places we stayed in Morocco this seemed to be the worst value. The room is quite small and because the breakfast starts later ( they say8:30, but it was closer to 9) we had to rush or missed it, although he did give us a few things in a bag to take on our last morning, which was nice. It was in a good location, once you get oriented.

We liked the location of the Dar in the medina. Breakfast was good. Language was a bit of challenge as we don't speak arabic and french. Our room is on the 3rd floor can be a bit uncomfortable. There were mosquitoes when we just arrived. The guy at the reception could be more friendly. No toiletries except the towels and no place to hang anything in the bathroom.

My family and I loved staying in this riad. It was super clean, the rooms were cleaned daily. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast they served every morning. The view from the rooftop is absolutely amazing, we'd spent hours there. Aziz was so helpful and kind, he arranged our trip to the blue city and it was incredible. When we first arrived he printed the map of the Medina and told us about all the tourist attractions. I am certainly recommending this riad to all my friends and family. Shukran

Wonderful spot in beautiful Fes

The Dar was absolutely amazing, filled with antiques, and in the heart of the medina. Our host was helpful and made absolutely sure that we did not leave breakfast hungry. One of my very favorite touches was the local shampoo and body soap offered. Completely new experience and lovely, different scents. The terrace was wonderful, too.

Comfortable and convenient Dar

Located in the medina, 5mins walk from blue gate. Convenient for us to find the way back. Room is comfortable with sufficient hot water for shower, and heater. Yet, the space may not be enough if you have two or more big suitcases. The breakfast was fine.
The Médina is complicated, yet not as complicated as we expected. Google map could help you find the way correctly.

Aziz, our host, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay. He arranged our transport from and to the airport and organized a private dinner for us at the riad.

Wonderful breakfast with amazing views, super well located and easy to find, which in the Medina is quintessential as it has over 9000 streets!!!

We stayed at this property for 2 nights on our visit to Fes and overall, it was a pleasant stay.

The location was spot on less then 500m from the main entrance to the Medina (Blue Gate) and is close to great dining options and all the Medina has to offer.

Staff at Dar Tahri were amazingly helpful and friendly, a real highlight of our visit. The Continental breakfast that was included in the booking was a great size and very tasty, giving us sustenance for our day of exploring the hustling Medina.

One thing that I think was a minor let down was the 5-star rating in comparison to what the standard of the property was. The room itself was large and had all the comforts we needed but bathroom was a bit basic and in need of some upgrades in my opinion. Whilst the accommodation was consistent with an older style Dar/Riad in Morocco and the price point was fairly reasonable, I think it is a stretch to give this property a 5-star rating (in my extensive hotel experience, I would say closer to 3-star then 5-star)

Overall, it was a lovely, comfortable stay and we got everything we needed and more. I would just advise if you come here expecting 5-star luxury, you may be disappointed.

Nice riad in medina

Very nice riad, located 2min from the Blue gate. Easy to find. Very nice service and stuff is very polite. We loved it and recommend it. No noise from main street, as it's a bit away from it, like 40m. One suggestion is not to take a tour from this riad. Find your own agency, which will explain clearly to you where you will go and what you will see.

We did not stay at this riad so this is not a comment on the quality of the hotel or the staff, only their business practices.
After realising within minutes of making the booking we had made a mistake, we tried repeatedly to contact the hotel to cancel the non-refundable booking. The mistake was entirely ours and we were aware of the policy but we thought it might be worth asking anyway as the booking was for more than 1 months time and made less than 24hrs. The hotel refused and took full payment for a booking we could not use, which they were fully in their rights to do.
The real salt in the wound is now being asked to comment on a riad we have not stayed at. We fully recognise our mistake and ask you to make sure your details are absolutely correct before confirming a non-refundable booking.

Would not go back to Fez

Review has little to do with the hotel, but the city. Felt unsafe constantly unless in the confines of the hotel. Which I was due to getting sick from the food. The staff was very helpful and arranged for pickup to and from the hotel and then met us where the taxi dropped us off so we didn’t have to navigate the Medina on our own. They knew we were sick and got us water and were very helpful. They hotel is beautiful. If you are staying in Fez, this is the only place to stay.

Morocco at it's best.

I think this was the largest room I ever stayed in. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Sofia was especially helpful and went well out of her way helping me work out details on the remainder of my trip. She even did a pile of laundry for me and didn't want to even charge me! Would definitely stay there again.

A wonderful experience!

I stayed here for 7 nights with my partner Sara recently...
A fantastic experience from start to finish! I arrived on a late flight to Fes and they accomodated me by collecting me from the edge of the medina without any fuss and taking me to the riad.

I was a little tired to observe in the night upon arrival, but when I woke up and came down for breakfast I was in awe at the detail of the courtyard of the Riad. This is a small and homely Riad with many wonderrful ornaments and features dotted about with great attention to detail!

What made the stay great though was the service though - it felt intimate and we were always made to feel welcome. The room was nice and also clean and tidy, whilst breakfast everyday was a great experience! Both tasty and plentiful

All in all a wonderful experience! We would love to come back again in the not-too-distant future when we are in Morocco. Thanking Ismail and Sofiya, as well as other members of staff whose names I don't recall (apologies!) but I won't forget their faces! :)

Overall, this Riad is average. here are some comments

1. Staff really friendly - Sofia was helpful and she even packed us a light breakfast in the morning as we checked out before breakfast time.
2. Breakfast was good
3. Room is very spacious and clean, we were three adults, and it could have easily fit 5 adults. Although, our room was on the top floor. because we arrived when there was only one staff member, we had to help take our luggage to the room. it was about 3 flights of stairs, which was hectic with our heavy bags.
4. Its about a 5-7 min a walk from where the taxis are, its not bad if you do not have a lot of luggage and if you are not travelling alone.
5. its in the Old medina, it is a 10 sec walk to the souk - super convenient if you are like to go around the souk and shop.

Feel scammed, but good location

My girlfriend and I stayed at this Riad for several days and did not have a pleasant experience. We booked a Medina guide through the front desk for a half-day tour but ended up with a full-day tour (or were at least charged as such) and were led around to various shops with a high-pressure to purchase items (carpets, oil, leather, etc.). We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as a misunderstanding, and booked a Volubulis tour through them after this. We ended up with a non-English speaking taxi driver for what we would expect the price of a private full-day tour to be. Lastly, when we tried to ask for simple dinner recommendations, they refused, instead offering to provide a high-priced \"guide\" who would lead us to a promised good restaurant. Overall, it felt that the staff was after maximizing commissions on us rather than committed to providing good service. The saving grace of this is that the location is great, close to the gate, and easy to get to. The staff also had a friendly demeanour despite what felt like a nickle-and-dime policy.

We cannot say enough about our stay at Dar Tahri. To start, the front desk staff met us at the outskirts of the medina to help us find our way. The taxi driver from the airport called them and they came to meet us. We were served mint tea upon arrival. The room was beautiful, huge, and clean. The front desk staff offered to come in early the next morning to make breakfast before our tour guide picked us up at 8 am. We asked for a recommendation for a place to eat dinner nearby and the gentleman working there called the restaurant, walked us to it, helped us order, and picked us up afterward. The restaurant didn't even seem open and we were the only ones there. (The food was great!) Everyone went above and beyond and we wished we could have stayed for longer than one night because they were so welcoming. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended. Stunning building at the heart of the old markets in Fes. A little bit difficult to find initially and we ended up asking for directions. The hotel is within easy walking distance of most sights in Fes. Very quiet, clean room with great bathroom and air con. There was also a fridge and a safe in the room, very handy. We stayed in a suite so lots of space. Great continental breakfast. Owners could be more helpful. Highly recommended. Great value for money.

Lovely Family Riad

This was my first stop in Morocco and I could not have imagined a better introduction! This riad is family run. I did not have many plans so they helped me with everything from getting a city guide to finding the best food and getting to my next city. The location is amazing! The guide they set up for my second day was one of the best I've ever had. The room was very clean and beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. Everything was perfect. I will stay here next time!

Comfortable, clean stay in Fes, but needs work

Dar Tahri was an adequate place to stay in the medina, checking my most important boxes for a place to sleep - clean, comfortable, safe. Our room was spacious, with separate spaces for the bed, lounging, and a large bathroom. The staff was also quite nice in letting us store our bags for the day while we ventured in the medina before heading out. However, several parts of our stay left much to be desired. Our bath towels were not adequately laundered--they smelled like dirty socks, much like laundry that hasn't been properly dried after washing. Breakfast was awful - yucky coffee (barely considered edible even by Nescafe standards), stale bread, orange juice from concentrate (which I found particularly offensive given that fresh OJ is both the norm and quite delicious throughout Morocco). The wifi was also slow and unreliable. It's an okay place to stay if you're in a pinch like we were, but for your money and the location, there are plenty of better options to choose from.

It was right in the medina therefore was convenient to go look around the focused area of Fez. Was easyvto come back to rest as well. (Really needed a rest from the busy area...)
We had our laundry bag in the room which was thrown out during our stay by the cleaning lady...
i still dont understand city tax of all the hotels and why even in one city, tax can vary and why it is in euros not MAD. (Why convert always from euros for city tax to MAD with higher rate also when we want to pay in local currency which is MAD?) No explanations were made from host.
Breakfast was alright same as all other hotels.

The service at the hotel was very good. The room was clean and in good condition. One issue is the riad is in the Medina so you cannot drive to it as one might think when parking is available for 3 EUR. The parking is obscure and only by having touts point you to the right place are you able to find it. This should be made clearer.

Really lovely staff running Dar Tahri. Helped us with our bags, we're always available and very friendly, including recommending restaurants and giving us tips for sightseeing. Room was right next to breakfast but very quiet and comfortable. Decor could use a little update/refresh but overall it was clean and comfortable. We had a couple beetles in our bathroom but they were taken care of really quickly. The breakfast was especially good and had a huge spread, plus it was served really quickly once you came out into the breakfast area. Overall had a good stay and would recommend to others!

Wonderful friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere in Fez. Bought 2 beautiful goat leather coats from the tannery.
Softest leather I have ever felt. Great value silk carpet also. Guided by Habib everywhere so much less stressful. Excellent cooking class at Palais Amani, worth just the view in centre of medina and could see the medieval walls and surrounding mountains, just beautiful.

Good riad in convenient location

We stayed in Dar Tahri riad for 3 nights. Since we were driving our car the arrival and a search for a parking was a bit uneasy. We were 'helped' by a stranger and ended up in the parking lot a bit farther away from the riad than we expected. After that however our stay was quite enjoyable. While the riad was not exactly luxury it is priced accordingly and we really liked it.

Don't be afraid to stay in a riad when you visit Morocco--they offer great value and a pleasant environment. Once you get past the thick door you'll enter a tall, ornate atrium, with tables and chairs. It serves as lobby, lounge, and restaurant. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful--from meeting us where our taxi pulled up and carrying our bags (about 5 minutes away) to walking us to a local restaurant. They also printed our boarding passes and booked a city guide for us. Our room was nice, with a comfortable bed and a spiral staircase that led to another bed in a loft. The price was right, and this riad was too!

Perfect place in Fez!

The people here are FANTASTIC! They made me feel incredibly welcome. It's a family establishment, and they run it like one. The (FREE) breakfast everyday was delicious and always changing. Also, it is right in the medina, but still close to the Blue Gates. This made it easy to walk around, but also to get lost and easily find my way back.

I'm a 23 year old woman traveling alone, and I had a wonderful time. It felt like a home away from home. Thank you for everything!

Great location in Fes

This is a great location to explore Fes El Bali, which is the old medina but also very close to the new medina. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we checked in they spent time explaining the Dar and Fes itself. Continental breakfast was adequate and similar to all the other riads we stayed in -- bread, tea, coffee, juice, jam, butter, etc, but no eggs or fruit. Breakfast started about 20 min late and they would not allow me to take coffee early, which is why I downgraded hotel service slightly. This Dar has very interesting decor and carvings, especially in the central courtyard. The quadruple room we stayed in at the top of the Dar was perfect for us -- a separate room with a Queen bed for Mom and Dad and 2 twin beds. Overall, a great place to stay with great staff.

A good hotel at a great price

Our stay at the Dar Tahri was wonderful. Mohamed, the hotel owner, was very helpful and can cater to any need you may have as well as being a fountain of knowledge. We also received a free upgrade to a deluxe room with Balcony as he knew we smoke. The hotels location is in the heart of the old town and a few minutes walk to the Blue Palace Gate. I would happily stay there again.

One night stay in Fez Medina

My husband and I arrived after dark at the Fex medina and as arranged a person from the hotel (the Dar, as it is called in Morocco) to meet us and take our luggage and walk us through the winding streets to the Dar. We were skeptical at first because of the darkness and all the activity, but it was perfectly safe and the people in general in Morocco and the Dar Tahri people were so kind. They anticipated our hesitation and assured us of our safe keeping.

We needed a restaurant for dinner and they made reservations for us and had someone come get us and walk us to the restaraunt and accompanied us back to our Dar. That was first class service.

Unfortunately, our stay at Dar Tahri was at the end of our Moroccan holiday and we only planned a single night in Rabat. The riad, and especially the room, were extremely well decorated, reflecting a wonderful mix of the old and the new aspects of Rabat.
It is well located and easy to find; just a short walk from the train station. Shopping and the kasbah are all close at hand.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
My only complaint was that we didn't plan a few extra nights in this wonderful riad!

Very Nice Riad in Medina

Authentic small riad in Medina, but with directions, relatively easy to find despite no sign. Tasty generous breakfast with fresh breads, fresh orange juice, coffee, mint tea, jam, honey, egg in the courtyard. Quirky historical building with much Morrocan charm, though irregular stairs could be challenging for some and watch for low doorways. Bed very firm.
Staff helpful with directions, and whatever else you need. Would stay again.

- The entrance door is always closed so we have to ring the bell when we enter, it feels like a house rather than a hotel
- An elevator needs to be built because the stairs are big/tiring and for better convenience
- Breakfast area is hot so there needs to be air conditioning
- There were extra charges added for our stay at the hotel which was not necessary
- Room cleaning isn't perfect, cleaners only tidy the bed and don't clean the floor
- Same breakfast is offered everyday, there needs to be a buffet

Nice riad

This place was just wonderful. Every detail was perfect and beautiful. We used a family room that was big and spacious. The location is perfect for exploring the Medina. It also included breakfast that was delicious. eggs, cheese, yogurt, bread, butter. The staff was very friendly and helpful The whole place was very charming and it felt as if we were in a home. We bought fruit and they washed it and brought it down for us. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

Formidable guesthouse au coeur de la médina

Riad au coeur de la medina de Fès. L'équipe est presente dès la réservation pour l'organisation des transferts ou des visites. En cas de problème, il y a toujours quelqu'un pour aider. De ce côté là, le staff est accueillant et sympa.

Le petit-déjeuner est simple mais s'avère finalement suffisant. La possibilité est également ouvert en intérieur ou sur la terrasse avec la vue sur Fès.

La décoration intérieur est raccord avec le style traditionnel marocain et très bien entretenue.

S'agissant d’une maison d'hôte, il est egalement possible de se restaurer le soir en réservant à l'avance. Ce qui est proposé est de qualité et en quantité non négligeable pour un prix modique.

Au final, si je devais refaire le choix de la destination, je pense que je séjournerai à nouveau dans cette guesthouse.

Purtroppo non è stata una bella esperienza. La stanza assegnata aveva un odore sgradevole e insopportabile, non abbiamo capito da dove provenisse ma di certo era all'interno della camera perché uscendo non si avvertiva più. Il secondo giorno, dopo essermi spogliato per una doccia, entro in bagno e scopro che la doccia era stata tolta ..dopo aver segnalato il problema al ragazzo della Reception ..mi dice che avevano avuto un problema in un'altra camera…e avevano preso la nostra..???.. non sono accettabile queste sviste. La colazione è stata sempre abbondante. Insomma non ci tornerei..... e considerando il costo, di certo per lo stesso prezzo si può trovare di meglio.

Alloggio tradizionale nella Medina

Dentro la parte iniziale della Medina di Fes, non facilissimo da trovare. Accoglienza molto buona da parte del receptionist Aziz, che offre subito informazioni sui siti interessanti da visitare ed i prezzi. Si fa carico di portare i bagagli nelle stanze che sono ai piani superiori, con scale piuttosto impegnative da salire e scendere. Casa tipica con molti arredi tradizionali e pareti decorate. Aziz ci ha aiutato a stampare le carte di imbarco del nostro volo che non è possibile fare online e ci ha mandato un messaggio per aver dimenticato un paio di occhiali. Colazione tipica buona.

The place is beautiful and has an excellent location, just a few steps from the main entrance to the medina (the Blue Gate) and from one of the two main passages.
But the best feature of this riad is its people and the excellent service they provide.

Tout est basé sur le personnel et là, à la réception il y a AZIZ !!! Le riad existe par AZIZ.
Sa présence avec toutes ses qualités relationnelles et sa disponibilité, rendent l'établissement comme un chez soi, dés la première nuit.
Je me permets une seule remarque qui ne se veut pas négative, l'emplacement, pour moi facile d'accès, mais pour le quitter le cheminement est toujours en pente douce mais montante.

Quiero destacar la amabilidad y simpatía del personal del hotel. Nos han ayudado en todo lo que hemos necesitado dándonos consejos generales y respecto a Fez, acompañándonos en persona y resolviendo un problema ante la policía. La ubicación del hotel es excelente en pleno centro de la medina y muy cercano a la Puerta Azul. Los desayunos son muy buenos. Hicimos una cena para dos personas, estaba riquísima y nos cobraron 25 euros. La habitación en realidad eran dos habitaciones. Una de cama de matrimonio con dosel preciosa, sofá y mesita, otra con dos camas, baño y una terraza enorme con mesa y sillas. Los aparatos de aire caliente funcionaban muy bien. La única pega que tengo es que en el baño no tenía y hacía frío, además de que la humedad se acumulaba en el techo en forma de gotas que luego caían al suelo. Salvo éso todo fue perfecto

Die perfekte Unterkunft, um Fes und Marokko hautnah kennen zu lernen. Man befindet sich direkt in der wunderschönen Altstadt von Fes. Man kann sich an Menschen, Farben und dem täglichen Leben kaum satt sehen. Der Empfang im Riad war total herzlich und der Service einsame Spitze. Tipps für gutes Essen und Sehenswürdigkeiten haben wir ebenfalls genügend bekommen und hatten immer einen Ansprechpartner zur Hilfe.
Die Zimmer sind groß, sauber und mit Terasse. In dieser Architektur und toller Einrichtung/Deko kann man sich nur wohl fühlen. Näher dran an Marokko und den gastfreundlichen Menschen geht es kaum.
