Awesome and secluded location, very welcoming and friendly staff, the cruises offered were very good. We had a great time as non scuba divers by way of swimming and snorkeling etc. Great menu and the Thursday night performance and local food was a nice touch. If you are mobility impaired not the ideal location as very steep access to majority of rooms. Staff did provide golfcart buggy transport on request. Beds weren’t comfortable.

The dive operation is superb, the food service and food are outstanding, housekeeping is excellent, the service team is beyond warm and friendly -- the overall resort is beautifully comfortable.

Recently stayed 7 nights at Volivoli Beach Resort and enjoyed a lovely relaxing holiday. The staff are so warm, welcoming and helpful. The food was generally good, but could be excellent with some form of quality control in place. Occasionally grilled bacon was served cremated, hot dishes were often on cold plates & served lukewarm, and the breakfast bar choices were limited. Where is all the delicious Fijian tropical fruit like coconut, mangoes pawpaw, pineapple..why is it not being showcased? Also expresso coffee should be part of prepaid food package, as there are no cafes around. Our villa was well appointed, but bed was very firm & would have liked the option of a mattress topper for our comfort, although this is purely personal. Only plasticware glasses provided, so requested real glasses. Also asked for seating squab cushions to soften the hard wooden sun loungers provided, which is standard in most resorts.
This resort is pitched toward the higher end of resort accommodation in Fiji and these few things, a little attention to detail, to ensure the guests comfort, would make such a difference.

Our family ( 3 Adults, one 16 year old boy) had a wonderful stay at Volivoli. Although this resort is well known as a dive resort, we are not divers, so don't let that put you off. The resort is stunning! Set up high to take in the beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding islands from each villa. Our villa was spacious and spotless, the cleanliness throughout the resort was impeccable, the best we have experienced in Fiji. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which was perfect for us.
The gardens were well kept and sun lounges and amenities are all in excellent condition. The pool was lovely with plenty of lounges. It has a small beach, not island style white sand, blue water but we enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks, reading our books and listening to the great music in the background from Ra Bar. We chose the full board option and although it was too much food for us, the food was very good and fresh and one of the highlights. We enjoyed the connections with staff and it was nice to see management making an effort to build relationships with guests. There were fewer daily activities that we are used to at family type resorts that we often stay at. I thought that my teen would be bored but he really enjoyed his stay. He connected with staff and other guests and there was enough to keep him occupied. We definitely got a workout with the hills, probably not for you if you have mobility issues. It was so nice to experience the Suncoast. We will be back! Sota Tale Volivoli!

fantastic diving location

This was our 3rd stay at VoliVoli and it just keeps getting better. We are avid divers (650+) who have traveled all over the world. We consider this our home away from home and in our top 3 favorite destinations. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff could not be more kind and the food is great. The dive crew are attentive and friendly and the dive sites are absolutely fantastic.

We stayed previously at this beautiful beachfront resort in 2022 and liked it so much we returned 2 years later. We would like to thank Steve and the Darling family, as well as Geraldine, Leni and many other staff members who made our stay so enjoyable. Once again we found the food and service in the restaurant to be excellent, as well as all the facilities and amenities around the resort. We do hope to return again in the future and highly recommend this resort to other travelers. We note that the resort is particularly well-suited to divers with its well-equipped diving operation, as well as others looking for a quiet place to relax in the sun.

The resort is great and staff super friendly. The only thing I was missing is a gym. Note that this is one of a very few resorts on North side of the island and it’s very secluded. There are basically no other dining options than at the resort. I was glad I booked a full board option.

The location is beautiful. The view from our Vale was beautiful. The vale itself was beautiful. There’s a special area for star gazing. But what is really great about VoliVoli is the staff. Their behavior goes beyond training; they’re just excellent people and I believe they offer a glimpse into what it means to be Fijian. From the dive shop to landscapers to reception to restaurant, I was impressed by each and every one. Thank you for sharing your beautiful island home with us!

This is a wonderful oceanfront resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We stayed for 8 nights in one of the beautiful oceanfront villas with a private pool and spectacular view - thank you Geraldine for arranging this! While the resort specializes in catering to the divers market (and is very well equipped for this), it is also a lovely place for sun vacationers like us to chill-out. The meals were excellent with gourmet cuisine and attentive service. Most of all the staff were outstanding! Thank you Steve and Geraldine and your whole team for making our stay so enjoyable! We do hope to return.

Voli Voli provided an amazing and unforgettable experience. We had our wedding ceremony at Voli Voli, and management offered us a wedding package, building such a beautiful setting and offering an incredible private dinner. This review would be too long to read if I detailed out all my positive thoughts and memories, but in short I thank the staff at Voli Voli for all the hard work they put in to make our ceremony so special. The setting was picturesque and the food was amazing.

We were very disappointed that the resort forced us to pay $140 fijian dollars per person for dinner and breakfast.
Also, if we had not been persistent in checking on availability of an excursion the next day, we would have missed out because they gave up 4 spots before us when we were told at check in that we would be confirmed. There is a complete lack of communication and follow through to make sure guests needs are taken care of. Aslo we were told all the excursion boats were gone for the day when we checked in, but we saw another boat leave later in the early evening.
Food quality is poor to average.
Lastly they charged us for 4 covid 19 tests, when we had the required fijian covid insurance that is supposed to cover these tests. Now we have to go through the insurance to get reimbursed.
Would not recommend this resort!

This is a high class resort. The amenities are great but the real treat are the staff who made this place for us. Great pool. Super friendly, helpful people. It was a pleasure to stay there. Oh, and the food is out of this world. The best I’ve ever had at a resort. We are most of the menu and EVERYTHING was incredible.

We enjoyed our time there very much. We stayed in a premium ocean view bure & it was large & clean with a comfy bed. The kitchen was well stocked & it did have gorgeous views. Overall the staff were friendly & helpful. Many seemed to actually enjoy their jobs. The beach may not be for everyone, at low tide it’s very rocky & mucky, but at higher tides there is more Sandy beach. We dove with Ra Divers, the in house dive shop & it was a really good experience. The soft corals are amazing! Do keep in mind it’s a little remote, about 3 hours from Nadi.

Lovely resort in a beautiful location. It's a 2 hour drive from Nadi but worth every minute.
The views from our room were stunning and the resort, from the rooms to the grounds and the beach, is maintained to a high standard.
We paid for a meal plan as part of our booking which although we didn't know it at the time was a great decision. Apart from the fact there are very few, if any, alternative places to eat nearby, the choice and quality of the food was the best we had experienced during our 3 week trip around Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu, it was excellent.
Volivoli is a premium resort and seems to cater primarily for diving groups. We didn't dive and only stayed for 2 nights, occupying our time lazing on the beach, kayaking and snorkeling around the resort, and chilling at the bar, which was lovely.

The forced half board was not very cost effective for vegetarian and only 2 vege dinner main options for a whole week sucked (people getting meat dishes get a much better deal and about 15 options). I had hoped for more Indian vege dishes. Had to ask questions at every meal re allergies. Meant limited breakfast options.

We loved our stay at VoliVoli Beach Resort. This magic hidden gem is a 2.5 hour drive from Nadi, a great drive through local villages and towns, coastal views and a good road. A stunning surprise awaits you, the views, the friendly team, their food, service, cocktails and fantastic rooms are awesome! Then the delight of a sunset and the tours that they offer. Forget Denerau, you need to visit VoliVoli.

Volivoli is worth 2 hour trek from Nadi if coming from there, we circumnavigated the main island fro Nadi through Suva,stayed in a number hotels on the way around and Volivoli was the last stay over, 3 great nights, much different from the big hotels near Nadi. Although popular with divers the snorkeling was fantastic, this is a 10 minute boat ride to the reef, couple of hours of great viewing. Food was great and staff very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast a battle with resident birds, a bit of team work with one person at the table its no problem, its an issue at most hotels. looking forward to returning to do some fishing as well. Spa was great and reasonable price. Thanks Volivoli beach :)

Really enjoyed it up here beautiful spot very quiet if u love diving fishing snorkelling or just enjoy doing nothing with not many people around this is ur place villas spaceful clean. Had a great snorkelling trip with Akimi cheap fjd 45 for 2 hrs half brd good value if ur a big eater incl entree main dessert or bbq/lovo buffet and brekkie yummy brekkie burrito. Not a good stay,even though I extended my stay there for a day.The reservation thru Hotels.com showed I would get WIFI but at the resort I was told to pay $25/day.The tap water is from bored hole which smells like ocean water.No swimming location in the ocean —lots of rocks at the shore.

Great location for amazing scuba diving. This region of the main island of Viti Levu is one of the best places to dive in Fiji without having to fly to another remote location. The Diving was our main area for the visit and well worth it. The resort had seperate houses for each guest and all had great views. We originally had worries about having to walk too many steps each day but it wasn't as bad as first thought. On checking in staff confused us and caused us to believe we hadn't already paid for a meal plan after I advised we had purchased one. I asked them to check and let us know. It took 3 days before we were eventually advised we were on a pre-paid meal plan and what it included. This was very annoying as management blamed us for not knowing. The food was excellent but didn't like having to have a meal plan as we were not big eaters and paid far too much for what we ate.

My husband is a \"kailoma

My husband is a \"kailoma\" (part Fijian) taking his family on a journey around Viti Levu and across to Ovalau to his grandmothers house. Father and son had already visited Voli Voli before the cyclone and stayed in the dormitory. We knew it was used by a lot of divers but our family of 10 would avail themselves to the pool and the beach.

We are happy to say that a table set up for our group of 10 was a welcome surprise. Everyone loved the VoliVoli and its small group setting as opposed to the Warwick which was a factory of people. We could see the wear and tear on the employees. Not as friendly and tired of the crowds of (white) people. They fed over 500 people at meal time. People fighting over a table to sit at, manuvering around each other to get from one place to another. Not a choice for us to return to.

We loved Voli voli the Kings rd beats Queens rd for travelling on. Also there was nicer looking villages, clean and peaceful. The old Fijian way. Food was good and we enjoyed the Meke our last night there. Thank you and please don't become the Coral Coast with it's crowds of people.

It was hard for an old lady to maneuver back and forth to my room, but I did.

Terrible value and horrible service: hot, tiny rooms with no Air Conditioning and no potable water!!! Astronomical prices for wifi and other services. Management is pathetic and indifferent. Front desk staff were incompetent, unhelpful snd clueless. It is far from town and one has to spend a fortune on taxi fare to pick up water and supplies. I would never recommend this remote, badly-run and overpriced hotel and will NEVER go back.

The hotel is remote about 2.5 hrs from Nardi and an interesting drive through all the local villages. The views are spectacular from the resort with mountains and sea. The room and sunrise from the Bure was great. The sunset cruise was great with friendly crew. It was particularly quiet that week (which we thought was good) until a large diving group arrived just before we left.

We stayed at VoliVoli for 7 days recently as a family of four. Firstly I will say the Fijian people are so
lovely and very accommodating – Australia could definitely take a leaf out of their book on
hospitality and service. The staff are so nice and it’s amazing that remember your name from the get
go!

Anyway the actual resort is amazing – very modern and well kept. We had continental breakfast
included each day but not the dinner package. Breakfast was a good selection of cereal, fresh fruit
and croissants, pastries, muffins, coffee, juice etc. You can also order a hot breakfast at an extra
cost. The restaurant has a good selection of food and offer a daily special. We stayed in the ocean
view room. Has a mini fridge and kettle. You have to pay for WIFI but I believe they offer a
complimentary 30mins.

Also once a week they do a traditional lovo night where there is entertainment and dinner. That was
a fantastic experience.

There is a very large pool with a bar attached – keeping you well hydrated  There is also another
bar near the beach which offers pizza and fish & chips for lunch. Pizza is not great and is very small.

Sunset from this bar/beach is beautiful so don’t miss that.

The actual private beach is nothing special – don’t expect white sand and clear waters. I think you
need to stay off main island for that experience. Nonetheless, the beach was fine – you could use
their non-powered equipment free of charge, ie SUP, kayak, snorkel gear.

So the drive to the resort is a bit of a pain. From the main road, there is about 15 odd mins of gravel road to travel. Secondly my room did not have hot water. While in this hot weather it does not make a lot of difference for adults but for children it affects.

I have a feeling that this location would mainly appeal to older folks. Its very quiet and secluded. An older guy 2 rooms down complained about our soft music played in broad daylight around midday. The hotel staff were very friendly except for management. We bought food from the hotel restaurant and were not allowed by the \"management\" to take it out to our room - rather strange. Or else rest was all good.

I don't wish to be negative about Volivoli as it's a beautiful location. This resort caters for divers. We chose it as our family destination for Christmas day and booked for 7 nights although we are not divers. BTW I really feel that 7 nights at one location with limited facilities does get boring. It takes about 2.5 hours to transfer to Volivoli from Nadi which seems to go quickly but still a long trip. It's a great time to take in the amazing Fiji scenery. The property has been rebuilt following Cyclone Winston and they have done a great job. Food was amazing although the accommodation included breakfast was a little light on for choice with ham, cheese, tomato, gherkin, fruits, pastries and cereals. here was an a-lar carte menu to choose from after 9am. The staff at Volivoli were outstandingly friendly and genuine which was nice to experience on our holiday. As we are not divers, we chose this resort because of the beautiful images and activities. Unfortunately there were limited resort activities so we left after day 4.

Wonderful mattress, spacious room, stunning ocean views, comfortable chairs, good continental breakfast, & staff were quite friendly. The negatives: no TV; tap water is a mixture of salt & rain water, so soap won't lather; must fill water bottles from an outside rain barrel (inconvenient); also lots of bugs (centipedes, ants, spiders, some roaches, mosquitoes); can easily hear noisy neighbors; some of the housekeeping staff were stingy with coffee refills. Would have been nice if towels were a bit thicker & if the A/C was turned on well before our check-in.

Great little spot in paradise

We had a wonderful stay at VoliVoli. Yes it's a long drive from the airport but it is so worth it. The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough. Snorkelling is fantastic, so much variety and we just swam out to the inner reef from the beach! Would also highly recommend the snorkelling trip to the outer reef and the handline fishing: we caught and cooked our dinner (the kitchen will also cook your fish for you if you like)! Breakfast is good and although dinner options are a little limited the chicken curry is delicious! There are also a number of cultural experiences on offer: kava ceremony; basket weaving; cultural talks and a trip to the village, all very good. When the winds up its an awesome spot to kiteboard! Thank you to all at Volivoli we will be back!

Great place to get away from everything. The grounds, layout and location of the resort are superb. The bedding and linen is in need of replacement in the studio deluxe room we stayed in. We were abit disappointed when we arrived as we expected the resort to be all lush and white sandy beaches but the service of the volivoli staff made our stay. Water is a problem and the sewerage needs fixing. The activities were unreal especially the island tour.

Lovely, peaceful hotel

A wonderful relaxing stay with our two kids. Although a dive resort there we some other families staying. There was no kids club which is what we wanted, we just enjoyed the tranquility of being so far from the rest of the resorts and spent the day on the beach, using the free kayaks, building sandcastle and using the swimming pool. We took an airport taxi, driven by a great guy called Nazeer, he charged $180 Fijian to take us the 2.5 hours to the hotel. This was cheaper than the hotel transfer and it supports local business. I would advise against the drive at night, cows, people, horses, dogs etc on the road, part unsealed. We brought the kids car-seats which we were pleased for, at times it was a scarey drive, but well worth it! Although there was not snorkelling off the beach, the daily snorkelling trips by boat went to some beautiful spots which I would definitely recommend. If I wasn't pregnant I would have certainly gone diving, the facilities and the boats looked great for that.

Excellent resort tucked away at the top of Fiji

Highly recommend this resort to anyone travelling around Fiji who needs a place to stay on the North side. The owners and staff exceeded expectations and made you feel a part of their little world. Snorkelling out on a nearby island found spectacular corals and fish.
Rooms are spacious and comfy. Food is plentiful and delicious- try the local chicken curry dish! Enjoy :)

Relax & Enjoy!

Volovoli is a very special destination for a true Fiji experience, the staff know you by name they are so friendly and truly make your stay so very special. I love the fact that there is no TV in your room, its one of the few place where you can truly unwind and catch your breath again. The food is great, the spa is excellent but the staff of Volovoli are what makes it so very special. Vinakavakalevu! (thank you very much). We will be back yet again, for the 5th time!

NIce quiet resort on the beach.

Getting there from Nadi is a 135km drive. Get a good street map of Fiji before you arrive. There is little in the way of street signs and no road lighting outside the major towns. The bridge at RakiRaki has been 'out for 2 years now and a detour is in place just north of RakiRaki, over the bridge at the sugar mill, turn left and go down a very unkept dirt road, through a village and back onto Kings Road. After that the signage to the Volivoli Beach Resort is good.
All the power points are the Australian standard 3 pin plug.

Lovely resort, though isolated without a car.

Lovely stay at a beautiful resort. We were there for 6 nights and found the lack of a car a bit limiting (nearest town 12km away, $20 each way in a taxi). Hotel charges $240 for airport transfer - we realised after that a normal taxi would have been cheaper ?$150. All rooms have a great view. We ate at the resort every meal (tropical breakfast of fruit and toast included, lunch $10 for toasted sandwich, dinner $28-38), which was more than we'd normally pay per day when travelling, but the prices were reasonable for a Fijian resort and the food was good quality. Rain water for drinking is free but we didn't know this prior to arriving. Internet was fast with a strong signal and we didn't mind paying the $35/3 days charge for this. Pool was warm. Diving was excellent with a dive-master guide on each dive.

Great resort off the beaten track

Clean rooms & linen.
Newish hotel so things are still looking fresh.
Hotel located a bit off the main road, handy to have a hire car, transfers can be a bit pricey.
Restaurant serves good food, but if you are there longer, without a car, then it can get boring. Staff are attentive & friendly. Overall great resort to stay at for a couple of days.

We had a terrific time and our only regret was, it was too short a stay and we didn't get to meet Julius. Timing was wrong. A big thank you to Volu, waitress who made us feel special...love your work from kiwis living in OZ.
