This property offered the experience of camping with a comfortable bed and a nice shower. We did not take advantage of the restaurant, bar, or pool, but they did have those available. Instead we utilized the camp kitchen/bbq area and they had a small store that had the necessities. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was okay, needed a bit more cleaning because there was lots of sand on the sheets and the bin wasnt emptied. Restaurant food could have been better, very basic and not really good. But overall, good stay everyone was nice.

My partner and i plus 3 of our mates had a great stay overall at the retreat. The bungalow was a decent size with comfortable beds although it did feel strange having to all share the bathroom as well as use the sink to rinse coffee cups etc as there isnt any other sink except for the bathroom. There also wasnt any privacy at all for the mates of ours who slept in the other beds as there isnt actually two bedrooms as such, there is just one bedroom with the additional 3 beds being out in an open plan area with the fridge, small kitchen bench, lounge chair and pantry/personal cupboard space room where the beds are all side by side. The bungalow had a wonderful verandah out the front though which comfortably seated all of us and was nicely tucked away behind fencing but still had a view as we were at the top of the hill :) All of the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful and the bbq area was just fantastic. We made most of our meals there and it was always quiet and clean and there was plenty of seating + bench space to prepare food. We did love happy valley as a location and went fishing right in front of the retreat afew times but we were definitely glad to have two very reliable and capable 4wds to get us around to the other beautiful spots we waned to visit as everything is abit of a drive. Happy valley didnt have too much of a range of shops so be sure to bring as many of your own groceries as you can. Overall a peaceful and good value property though.

We stayed for one night, the staff were very accommodating as I had to increase the number of people staying. The room was clean and tidy and the separate toilet/shower room looked fresh and newly renovated.

The staff were able to provide gluten free meals and the food and drink was also really good.

Would recommend as conveniently located and the service and accommodation was very good.

Beautiful and relaxing, staff were all so friendly. Convenience of dining in if you wish, a relaxed bar. We went at peak summer so an extra fan/s would have been a bonus. A few steps to tackle to take your gear up. Refreshing pool was fantastic.

The room was not cleaned properly with sand, dust and rubbish under the beds and the lounge. Very limited cooking facilities in the room which is described as \"two bedroom\". In fact it is a single bedroom with the sitting area converted to a bedroom. The \"camp kitchen was no more than a barbecue with a sink. Overall very expensive for second rate facilities. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The bungalow was dusty. The shower is a shocker it does not drain properly you are standing in 20 mil of water all the time and the spray goes on the floor very dangerous. And to finish off I pulled the top sheet on the double bed back and there was all black pebbles on the white sheets that looked like a cockroach had been living there. Never again. Errol

Nice well kept property. Clean Large rooms. Excellent owners and staff.

Property lacks AC but the island cools of after 10.00 pm so not a big deal.

I would suggest to the owners to lock the pool area during restricted hours as some guests decided to use the pool late at night disturbing other guests with the noise they made.

Mould throughout the bathroom, shower and toilet. Thick layer of dirt and dust under the beds and refrigerator which we had to move so that the curtains would stay shut so that you couldn’t see into our room. Non smoking, yet the smoking area is directly outside the window to our room. Windows could be opened from outside the room. Pictures of this room on the current listing reflect the rooms much better than on the listing when we booked over 6 months ago. We were very unpleasantly surprised by the detached bathroom across and down the hallway, however this is better described in the current listing. Staff on check in were lovely. Decking between pool and rooms need repair as some are missing and many are damaged.

pleasant, nice stay

pleasant stay, got its bistro and small souvenir shops with food and drinks, friendly staff members, food was alright, place can be sandy overall sometimes as people bring it in but they follow strict rules of having clothing on when entering the restaurant premises.
Also good location so not too far from Eli Creek

Was what I expected basic accomodation but add started room would be serviced mid stay and wasn’t when I asked I was rudely told no it would not and couldnt check add as wifi didn’t work the whole stay. (Made planing days harder) staff told me what do h expect your on an island. (Don’t advertise having wifi if it never works) we ended up leaving a day early and loseing accomodation cost for the last night wasn’t happy

Nice family cabin getaway

The cabins are simple but comfortable. The camp kitchen was great for preparing meals & bbq'ing. The onsite restaurant did huge burgers. Lovely staff.

Nice and close to Eli Creek. Great shop and dinning. Make sure you take cooking utensils and plates etc. Kitchen not stocked but can ask at reception for some items. Friendly and helpful staff.

We loved our stay here! Let’s face it, it’s basic accomodation, but the facilities were exactly what we needed, working bathroom, a big fridge, comfy beds and a camp kitchen. The camp kitchen isn’t stocked with equipment so you need to take your own. As I said, this is very basic, but you aren’t going to Fraser Island to stay in your accomodation and it’s well located to get out and explore. We especially loved it’s proximity to Eli Creek and will definitely be back!

Great location in the middle of the island in a much more relaxed spot. Lovely staff who were all very helpful. It just needs a few basic updates and fixes to broken items and small additions like a bedside light and it would be perfect!

We usually camp at Fraser as it’s cheaper, but we are SO glad we chose to stay here instead. If you’re looking for affordable comfort, this is the place. Staff were friendly, the beds were nice with hotel quality linen. The communal kitchen was actually great and spacious.
We will be back!

Resort is well located near the Wreck and Eli creek. Dingo fences which were appreciated as we saw some on the beach. Recently renovated. Used the camp kitchen (BYO plates and utensils). Clean. Friendly staff. Nice communal restaurant and bar area with a tropical feel. Wifi in common area only.

The location was central and we had easy access to the rest of the island. The food wad good at the onsite restaurant.
The manager was an absolute idiot. Swearing at us for various topics because he did not like us expecting what was advertised as included.
I would not stay at this retreat again.

The room was very run down and dirty. There was hair balls under the beds, mould in the shower and on the shower curtain. The pool looked green and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The deck around the pool was rotten and was unsafe. The camp kitchen was lacking utensils and did not have a single bowl. Overall, the place is run down and dirty. I would not recommend it at all.
