Keys were provided on check in. Upon walking in, the apartment was filthy, dirty towels, sheets on the floor. Bathroom and kitchen not clean. They gave me a new room. The new room had issues. Disgusting mould and rust in the kettle, all the air con units, and bathrooms. Ants were present in the main bedroom from the air con to the bed. Stains on the floor. No coffee or tea supplies.
The food at the venue was amazing. Service was generally ok, but could be better. Lots of confusion around what Accor benefits are applicable, and upon being given a free drink voucher, they refused to give a pint of beer (despite the voucher not being clear on size). Overall a poor experience and not likely to recommend. Expensive cost for a facility that is quite dated and showing its age.

We were pleasantly surprised by our two bedroom villa, being privately owned meant there was more outdoor furniture and a modern kitchen, bathroom. The resort has great facilities and makes for such a relaxing holiday when the kids are happy! The sunsets are next level and soo much wildlife to be seen off the jetty. We will be back!

There was a red flashing light in the main bedroom that continued during the night and was so bright it lit up the room and the fan was so noisy. Could not sleep much for 3 nights spoke to reception and nothing was done. Staff were un helpful during the stay. They wernt friendly tried to talk and ask questions about different things and they wernt interested in giving answers. Food was very adverage at 2 restaurants and pricy.

All the resort staff we met were friendly, keen to help and knowledgeable. The resort Rangers were exceptional, we attended 5 guided walks and talks about K'gari's plants and animals and geology. Each Ranger was extremely knowledgeable about their subject matter, and communicated in a clear and engaging style with a wide range of people who attended the activities
However, the general condition of the resort was less than expected, and bordered on being \"tired\". Money needs to be spent of improving the resort centre and the rooms in our opinion
The on-site food outlets were expensive for the quality offered, while the \"village\" shop price gauged by 30%+ compared to shops on the mainland

Kingfisher Resort offered most things, we were disappointed that one of the pools was closed. One of the restaurants (Sand Bar and Bistro) was also closed. This left limited options for meal times.
Staff were turning people away from the main Sand and Wood restaurant and advising people to go to Dune instead. This was despite only four tables being occupied! Not good when you have only just arrived.

Very comfortable and spacious family villa, requested air conditioning and loved how cool.the summer nights were with this feature. The customer service on check in was extremely good, the power had gone out but it was still easy and the lady serving was very friendly. The only thing that was disappointing was there were ants in our villa and we didn't realise so they managed to get into my sons birthday cake, when I asked a staff member at reception if there were any options to try and replace it with something, even just a muffin or anything? and still sing happy birthday she just said no, she didn't even ask the kitchen or anything.

Three days is too short! Clean and tidy facilities, however my room smelt damp and even with aircon on this could not be rectified. Highly recommend the Island Day Spa for a massage, the 4WD “Beauty Spots” tour, drinks and cheese / prawn platter down at the Sunset Bar and Dune Restaurant was delicious. If you book Accommodation via Wotif, be sure to arrange ferry passage and transfers prior, as well as buffet breakfast.

Overall it was an average stay. Expensive for the facilities on offer and very understaffed. In saying that the staff that were there were extremely friendly and absolutely run off their feet. Due to the amount guests and the ratio of staff, we witnessed on many occasions the staff being spoken to poorly by guests. The current management should look to look increase the amount of people on shift or reduce the number of guests able to stay during the current staff shortages.

Ok so Fraiser island is lovely without doubt, not so lovely is paying 1k aud for 2 nights in a hot tub villa that has a tub that struggles to fit 1 normal sized person comfortably, and that for all intensive purposes isnt part of the resort, and that you need to clean yourself!! ..... likewise the dune restaurant at $100 per head is terrible, the food would be good at a $25 price point as doesnt even live up to most surf clubs, and doesnt even have nice views!. Also the resort itself is inland and has no good views (although is sat in a forest which is cool!)

We stayed in the villa #614 (privately owned and administered by the resort) and, while we'll thought out, we had to contend with some of the worst mattresses we had ever experienced in our lives (think a 15yo mid-level Ikea mattress). The couch was also in a terrible state, so we may have been unlucky there.
The it comes the restaurants, and we tried all three. Dune (the more expensive one) was pretty adequate, but the other two were not. Mediocre breakfast, domino's-like pizza, and it ended up taking up some time to find a few good dishes (Onion rings, Korean chicken, nachos and fish and chips at Sand and Wood).
Finally, the pools were permanently cloudy with people behaving like animals without any interference from resort personnel.
It is easy to say that it is not really worth the price.

K’gari means paradise and is aptly named.
This was a wonderful place to stay. It’s set in native bushland, with lots of boardwalks and formed tracks through the property. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda watching birds and lizards, swimming in the lovely pools and watching the sunsets. There are also a number of excursions to explore the island from the property, and a small shop with plenty of supplies. Highly recommended!

We have been going to Fraser for many years & were lucky enough to spend many of our visits there when it was privately owned. Since it has changed hands we’ve been quite disappointed with how they’ve changed it. The number of staff & level of service has diminished quite dramatically & the food selections are disappointing, there is only so many burgers ect one can eat, the buffet dinner that used to be in what was the Maheno restaurant was much better & I think the people of Hervey Bay would miss the once a week seafood extravaganza. It really is a shame when big companies ruin things that have been so successful in private hands, I don’t understand why they would change things that work?

The room was in pretty good condition the shower floor was missing the seals, and the toilets for some reason difficult to get to flush, exhaust fans didn't seem to work well,beds and pillows were comfortable. From mainland check in to departure, this resort had friendly and helpful staff from around the world. It’s carefully landscaped gardens and lagoons bring an abundance of wildlife. At night time the orchestra of frogs is beautiful to listen to. The lagoon style pool is fabulous. There are three eateries with different moods to cater to all tastes. Our apartment was very dusty and needed a good vacuum & clean, all the spare bedding had stains and smelt really gross. People were smoking around the pool. Not many staff around, big wait for drinks etc.

A bit of false advertising, regarding the dining and bar options. One restaurant and one bar were closed the entire time. The main restaurant was “completely booked up for dinner”, leaving the only option for dinner as a burger and chip joint.

We loved our stay at Kingfisher! The whole area is amazing and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. We also liked the walks that were available from the resort.

1. The extractor fan in the bathroom with spa was not strong enough to prevent excessive condensation in the bathroom.
2. Signs on some of the walking trails need updating and the map needs to better reflect the actual pathway. Distance measurements on these signs would also be helpful, especially on the Lake McKenzie walk.

our only problem was that there was a jackhammer going constantly in a unit near us over the long weekend... apparently an owner doing his own renovation ...im sure the 7 am start on Saturday is within the noise by council but maybe not in such a tight confine on a busy holiday weekend.. peace and tranquility only achieved by leaving the unit early and returning after 5...
