We found the room was lovely and big, however it needs some TLC. The net curtains were ripped at the bottom and the balcony was growing weeds and moss. The outdoor furniture was very tarnished/rusty. The room could do with a deep clean and there were stains on the dining chairs. We did have a slight problem with tiny ants too. However it had everything we needed for a 3 night stay.

I was a bit disappointed. I stayed for three days and no one came to clean. When I asked the front desk, they told me there was an extra charge, which surprised me. Their rooms are already expensive; why wasn't room cleaning included? Many other hotels are cheaper and have housekeeping every day. So next time, I'll choose a different hotel.

Room was clean and tidy but only weekly cleans meant we had to go to reception a number of times for fresh towels and kitchen supplies etc.

We stayed at Oaks Hervey Bay for one night booking a one bedroom pool view apartment. This was a staycation. We were upgraded to an ocean view two bedroom. The apartment was very spacious with a massive ensuite including a spa bath. The young lady on reception was extremely efficient and friendly. They have a wellness spa onsite which I visited for a relaxing treatment.

All the good quality ingredients were there, however, the baking process lacked some heat. A few things that need attention - the shower over the spa bath is a big no. Water all over. Door to bathroom is already rotting at the bottom. A small thing such as the ice tray was not filled, so for a 1 or 2 night stay, no ice. Third and biggest issue was the bedding. Sheet, inner duvet topped with another loose sheet is also a big no! It was hot, so wanted to sleep with sheet only. Separating the sheet from the inner duvet and later trying to draw the duvet up is not exactly hygienic, as you end up with a bare inner which probably gets made up again for next guests. (Personally also did not enjoy that all the balconies look over the pool and face each other.)

The reason I chose this hotel and room was because it had a kitchen with a the mugs, plates and cooking utensils we might need which we definitely made use of. It should really be looked at.
I slept on the sofabed, which having previously stayed a number of times, I knew was there. The staff wanted to charge me for extra bedding to use sofabed.
Said to receptionist that the place seems to be lacking maintenance - she didn't seem to take much interest in specifics and moved the conversation along.
