Lovely hotel

This hotel is quite a distance from the centre; it's about 40 mins drive from Kotoka airport (longer depending on horrific evening traffic).There are no local restaurants or amenities which means you are reliant on taxis to get out and about. However the hotel is set in beautiful grounds by the sea. There is a lot of outdoor space to chill and a swimming pool that is kept clean (you see it being cleaned daily). There is also a nice lounge/bar area which is open 24/7. The hotel has a nice vibe with music playing throughout the day. My room on the second floor was totally adequate, a nice comfy bed, mirrors, desk, safe etc and there was daily housekeeping (I think they should get rid of the rugs and cushions which can be unhygienic). The room is well stocked with bottled water daily and a variety of teas and coffee. There's also a fridge. There are plenty of sockets though you have to move the furniture to get to some of them.The ensuite has a good shower however although clean, needs desperately to be re-grouted as It had the appearance of being grubby. The terrace was a nice space overlooking the pool and sea. The big let down for me was the restaurant. Given there is no easy access to restaurants in the area, every effort should be made for the restaurant to be the best it can be. The portions are huge but lacking in taste and flavour . It's Africa. Do African cuisine!

An average hotel… the location bit far from the city center. But good for hideout and like it’s beach location. Prices of $130 a night for the room doesn’t match the quality of service. Breakfast is okay. Honestly I’m not looking forward to go back. Same or lower amount can get a hotel in the city center with better service.

The property is a secure compound. We liked our room and view of ocean and pool. We enjoyed the pool and live music. The house keeping staff and pool attendant were great! The food servers were tired and very slow and inattentive which is common and to be expected in Ghana. Our water went off at least three times while we were showering. Each time they restored the water not too long after. It took 2hrs and three calls to room service to get a small portion of ice cream delivered to our room. The lobster I ordered was cold and not fresh. It smelled bad to me so I sent it back and couldn’t eat it. I ordered vanilla ice cream for my wife by the pool side but they ran out of vanilla and had to supplemented with some freeze dried strawberry something. The kitchen/food services are not well managed at all. There’s obvious building maintenance issues being neglected ie: door hardware, paint, furniture and roof. The grounds are very well kept but the beach was littered with garbage as are most beaches in Ghana. It was our third stay here but appears to be under different management then last time.

Sadly I truly tried to work with them to resolve issues with two different rooms. First room the balcony Door would not kicks. So I ask for another room in which I had to spend a $600 more dollars since it was a king suite. I initially loved the room until I tried using the jacuzzi which did not work. The maintenance staff came to look and immediately said ow this jacuzzi has a big problem we already know. He said sorry this can not be fixed. I then asked to speak to management and they never responded to my request to speak with me regarding the issues . I demanded a partial refund. They refused and said they can do it at my next stay. I’m was like Wow. They refused to help me . They could do much better. It could be a great facility if they just keep it up. But the customer service to resolve issues is horrible

My money was stolen for a nights stay and all they staff did (mainly front staff) was beg for money every chance they could. I wouldn’t recommend my enemy stay here. Stay clear of this hotel. You get what you pay for. Next time I’m in town on business I’ll pay a hefty fee for a sound establishment, a peace of mind, and good food (they serve old breakfast).

Highly disappointing.

I found my stay at this hotel disappointing from start to finish. I chose this hotel because it claimed to have super speed WiFi and the room I had booked claimed to have a deep soaking tub. When I got there the WiFi in my room wasn’t working, I had to contact the staff around 4 times to try and assist me and was then told I would only have WiFi when the person in the room next door was in their room. This to a large extent ruined my stay as I was there on business and needed to work.

Additionally there was loud music playing from the pool all day everyday and this was very frustrating as I needed to work and could hear it from my room.

The breakfast was also very disappointing as the egg and omelette station had nobody present to cook the food and there were no staff present most of the time to ask for help.

The only reason I did not leave was because the cleaning lady and waitress were very kind and tried there best to make my stay more comfortable.

Overall the stay was disappointing and not worth the money paid.

The facilities(tables, chairs and, TV) in the room are a little bit dated by the beds were very comfortable and clean. Many hotels had jacked up their prices for the holidays but this hotel's price was very reasonable. Their menu breakfast is one of the best I've had in any hotel(Counting more than the 26 states I've travelled in the USA). They also have the highest 4g LTE signals I've ever seen on the MTN Network. I was pulling 112Mbps download and 56Mbps Uploads.

The hotel was fine. My boyfriend and I ate dinner there and it was good; however I would not recommend this place because of the location. It is in a very unsafe neighborhood. We went for a walk. Less than 200 meters from the security gate we were assaulted by a group of men! Both of us!! A man was slapping me and trying to steal my phone. Another man ripped my boyfriend’s shirt off. The hotel did protect us from the men which I appreciate however I would never return to this place due to the location. Make sure you look into the location of your hotel and not just the pictures and amenities of the hotel. If you do stay here do NOT walk the street. We wanted to walk the beach initially but it was closed.

The property looks very pretty and the staff is friendly. The pool area is also attractive. However, I cannot recommend this hotel because the rooms are not maintained. Our room smelled very bad._ A heavy musty smell that was most unpleasant. We tried to air It outt by opening the door. There are 0 plugs available near the beds or desk to plug in a tablet or charge a phone. There was an electric tea kettle to make coffee but the only place to plug it in was sitting it on the floor near the back door and the one outlet. To make it worse, the teakettle does not work correctly and overheats and does not shut off. I got a very bad burn on my hand from it. The door was extremely difficult to lock / unlock and open. I almost had to call for assistance to get out of the room. The exercise room is not well maintained. There are no towels and no water available, and the day I was there, the treadmill was broken.

The hotel was quite secure and situated right on the beach. The hotel had indoor/outdoor dining, the outdoor patio overlooked the beach. The service from the front desk to the wait staff was exceptional. Everyone was pleasant and quite accommodating. That is a theme for Ghanaians; their hospitality is first class, from the taxi drivers to the person on the street whom you asked for directions. The hotel, in my opinion, was a bargain for the price.

The lobby and rooms are nice. However after checking in the day before, I realized the hotel did not have running water. The were completely out of water for the entire day. No shower, toilet, etc.They were not honest about the situation and made it seem like it was a maintenance issue with my room, when in reality there wasn’t any water at the facility.

Great hotel for the price. The ocean view from the hotel is breathtaking. The staff was pleasant, the prices for food was very affordable. They have 24/7 diner. It’s surrounded by a village so the ride there might look a little sketchy but the hotel is safe. They have drivers that are amazing. I had a driver name David that showed us around. Good experience.

I really enjoyed the service, The staff went out of their way to make sure you were happy and enjoying yourself. The hotels was close to everything that was going on. I felt safe even in the mist of the location. The location of the hotel is what truly gave you the feeling of Ghana. There were drivers on the hotel property they so that you didn’t have to wait for Uber or taxi. The drivers made the difference also.. I truly enjoyed my stay I am looking forward to going back

We were told we would have an ocean view room and that was not the case. We had no lights and told them and they said oh our maintenance Guy will work on it and he never showed up. The next day we had the manager telling us she was going to charge us for towels cuz my son had blue hair. I told her it will wash out. She wanted to charge us $275 for 2 towels and one pillow case. Then upon checking out they tried to charge us again. I said no I paid through hotels.com and they said no it doesn’t show you paid.
People beware !! These are some really shady people.

Such a nice hotel and the staff was truly kind. We arrived at almost midnight after a long and delayed flight from the USA. They kept the restaurant open for us for dinner, we booked the Presidential Suite as we had our two adult kids with us. Very clean, great view, driver from the airport was wonderful! Very nice hotel with great staff and the food was very good also. I stayed in the Presidential Suite which is very, very nice, clean and comfortable. Room service was quick and very courteous. Good security at the front gate and beach side. The atmosphere in the courtyards was so calming and beautiful landscaping. Great staff service there also. Me and my friends were very impressed. I was disappointed in this stay: firstly, check in took quite a while and the staffer at the front desk had an attitude there whole time. He also initially refused to give us an extra key to a family room and insisted that we could only have one between 3 people. The restaurant was very slow to prepare our food and had many key ingredients and menu items unavailable, by the time we finished eating the pool and beach access were closed as well.
I have stayed here prior under their previous management and didn’t have these issues so I was disappointed.

Went to this hotel for a friend's wedding and stayed as a guest. Rooms are tired and relatively basic. Hot water in bathroom runs out before the end of the shower. Room service took from 45 minutes to 1 hour to deliver anything. Restaurant service was as slow as the room service. The hotel also failed to deliver on promised supplies of drinks and equipment for my friend's wedding which added to stress. Wifi connection started not too bad but became non existent in my last few days. As there are no other amenities nearby the lack of internet made it much more difficult to make plans and organize travel around the city. Staff just kept saying that an engineer was coming out. But after 3 days there was no sign of any work on the wifi and not improvement in service. If you looking for a calm, relaxing beach resort then don't head here. The private beach is not maintained and is full of rubbish and music blares around the pool all day.

Overall the hotel is beautiful and worth the money they charge, friendly staff and beautiful view from the room i booked. However the bathroom had a stank , horrible smell. I had to spray some cologne to finally nautralize the smell. Breakfast is ok, pool area is good, location of the hotel is terrible but hotel is safe. Second time stay in this hotel. The staff was very Friendly and welcoming,
Breakfast was sufficient with a chef to cook eggs, pancakes or waffles
Restaraunt conained reasonable priced food and drinks
Gym; bare minimal essentials but it was good enough
The hotel grounds were well kept and watered
Consistent room cleaning service
Pool Area was nice; what i loved about the hotel is that you can receive service at all outside locations

Cons:
Most of my cons derived from information that is out of date on expedia and the hotel website:
-No mini bar as advertised
-The information book inside my room stated facetowels and bathrobes were available upon request however, when requested I was only supplied with the Face towel.
-I coordinated for the complimentary shuttle service but due to an unexpected layover; the hotel did not respond in time to reschedule.
-Both sites states there isn't a reception desk; you must coordinate check in. This is not true, i stressed myself out waiting for a response from the hotel and consistently calling the hotel to ensure i would be able to check in and finally decide just to take a taxi to the hotel and go from there. I arrived and checked in with ease.
Again, providing updated information would have made this experience less of a headache
-No elevator; this should be advertised
-Towels were dingy
-Private beach area is full of trash and also surrounded by huge rocks; not a great location if you plan on swimming on the beach
Overall , the hotel was a nice stay.

My first time in Africa and i picked a great hotel. It was right on the water of the Gulf of Guinea. Beautiful views and clean rooms. Great service and very nice staff. I had one incident and they did everything they could to rectify it for me. I have kept in contact with a few of the staff members after I left. The beach could be cleaned up so you can enjoy it too, but all else was good.

A lovely hotel with stunning beach view. The hotel was a bit of a ride from the hotel (about 40 minutes) but not that difficult to get to by car. Rooms good, beds comfy, staff wonderful - polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay and the restaurant had a great (if a tad pricey) menu. I enjoyed my brief visit and would be tempted to use it again.

The people of Ghana in the main are very friendly and helpful. What I found missing was pamphlets that a tourist could use to plan activities. The hotel had none. The grounds are very well kept and the decor is attractive. The beach, however , is unusable and a walk on the beach reveals quite a lot of plastic and stuff washing up from the ocean.
Please update the telephone number given by hotels.com as we struggled to get through to request airport pick-up.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay but there were no hotel activities to occupy our time since the local environment did not have enough tourist attractions.

Clean Hotel, Friendly Staff, Working Wi-Fi

I enjoyed my stay here and look forward to coming back. The hotel and room were clean, the staff friendly and I was very pleased that the Wi-Fi worked everyday which is somewhat of a problem with other hotels here. I was disappointed that we weren't allowed to go on the beach, but the view was great. The drive from the airport was about 30 - 40 minutes, but the hotel shuttle showed up when they said they would and its easy to get a taxi from the hotel. Wish there were more eating locations in the area, but the hotel's restaurant served great food every time I ordered dinner. The variety and quality of the food available for the free breakfast was also good.

Beautiful Hotel with serene environment

I was actually looking for a place to relax, sleep and rest and I got plenty of that at the hotel.
The staff are quite nice, helpful and constantly cheerful.
I am trilled for having a place like this to stay in Ghana and would definitely repeat the visit God's willing.

It was called the hidden paradise, it was far from it, upon arrival having to wait two hours for check in. There was a gym there that was advertised on thte website, the first morning aaferr check i we were told, gym was closed, management decsion, and it remained closed our whole two week stay there, we were given the reason as they were trying to buy there own gym eqipment and didn't want this equipment broken, well take it off your website that you have a gym then, one of the reasons for chosing this less than good hotel.I can understand remodeling going on in a hotel, but complete constuction and hammering and driilling in the room next to you, with no apoloy from managment, me think not.I don't even want to go into the pool rules they had in place, in which you would never find in a quality hotel. We asked for a blanket, and we were told we only have six blankets for the whole hotel, this is a three floor hotel with six blankets, and then gave a hard time about getting a extra sheet. I understand they are under construction, and adding new things and pictures and things in the lobby, but you would think i could have had at least one day of hot water, didn't happen. Towels and washcloths were not much better. The only good thing about this place called a beach hotel was the service from the non management staff and the breakfast buffet, other than that nothing good to stay, i would be hard pressed to ever stay here again.

Renovation underway

They were in a middle of renovation which was not told on website, used the gym when I arrived and then they closed the gym without proper explanation, so I did not have access to gym at all! When we arrived we had a phone but didn't work, refrigerator but didn't work! No electricity on one side of the room. When we called to complain they would come and say be back later... never saw them again. The didn't care about our complaints and in fact became annoyed that we weren't satisfied. The food was ok. Sometimes the breakfast buffet was not set up on time and we had to miss it even though they advertised 6 am. The pool was the only thing that was truly nice. As for a discount and they ignored me!

Under construction...

Our stay was good. A group of 12 of us rented 4 rooms for 10 days. The biggest negative was that the hotel is under major construction during our visit. It seemed like that was the answer for every issue we had during the trip. We seldom had hot water for showers which is the usual for Africa. The housekeeping staff was very helpful and the kitchen staff did everything they could to make our kids happy during meals. The Managers, Obed and Janet tried their best to apologize for the construction and explain why the gym was closed, the construction was noisy, etc. Overall, I would definitely stay here again in hopes that all of the construction is completed. The facility is getting a major face lift. The modern fixtures, decor, etc is great, but we needed a lot more functional aspects.

Nice pool, but beach is full piles of garbage

We waited half an hour to check in and there seemed to be confusion over our booking. At least half the rooms look like they is undergoing renovations...and we saw very few other guests. At supper time and breakfast we were the only guests in the restaurant. Food was nicely done for dinner. The free morning breakfast had most of the items empty when we arrived an hour into it and they didn't refill them. The service is extremely slow but friendly. The place overall is nicely appointed and clean. Our room was comfortable and had a great view of the pool. The pool was very nice and clean. . The free wifi worked but was slow. The view of the beach is nice....as long as you don't look at the huge piles of garbage on both sides where the hotel ends. Definitely not a swimming beach....we watched one pile of garbage wash into the ocean when the tide came in.
