The property’s only value is its location. The rooms are dated and in need of updating. It’s a nice looking building in an excellent location - right across the street from two performing arts venues and in the midst of Rutgers University. The lobby looks fine and so does the restaurant. But the rooms look like a budget motel. We only stayed there for convenience - we were attending an event at the hotel and the theater across the street. There was a wedding and a gala there Saturday evening, so that must have been too much for the kitchen staff to handle and they told us when we checked in that breakfast would not be available in the morning.

Hotel definitely needs to be refurbished. Certain areas more than others. Not the cleanest hotel but Staff was pleasant. There is a restaurant/bar in hotel which is convenient. Personally I thought $30 a day for valet parking for guests was ridiculously expensive considering they’re parking your car in the same parking deck as self parking and it’s less expensive and around the corner from the hotel.

The Heldrich is conveniently located in New Brunswick. The hotel is fairly up-to-date and breakfast is excellent. Pricing is great, especially considering the price of nearby hotels that offer identical amenities. My only complaint is lack of self-parking at the hotel. One must use their valet service or park at the Morris Street deck located on the block behind the property. The hotel does not validate parking.

Tried for over 10 minutes to fill up the tup but couldn’t unless standing up pushing it down. Not strong enough to do it with my foot when lying down. Bad! Had to take a shower in stead. Not what I expect from a hotel of this price.

I did not sleep well. No matter how many times I tried to reduce the temperature of the room to below 70 it wouldn’t work. Then it seemed liked the AC would completely turn off at night. As a menopausal woman from Texas I like to sleep in the cold, so very disappointing with the price of these rooms. In addition the king sized beds should have king pillows not the tiny standard size.

The hotel is a fantastic downtown option within walking distance of many great dining options, Rutgers, and the train station. We found the room cozy and clean, and the hotel decor felt welcoming. The staff was nice, especially in the restaurant. We enjoyed a nice holiday weekend stay. Our only complaint related to parking. It would be nice to have more convenient options for parking, but we understand the limitations given location. Honestly, we greatly enjoyed our stay and the more unique hotel experience, so we’ll likely return to visit our child at Rutgers.

I realize it was Christmas evening, but there was no valet and instructions of where to park where a little unclear. In the morning, gym on the third floor was open, but no restroom facilities and when I traveled down to lobby to use facilities to avoid waking up my family back in my hotel room, they told me they were an accessible to me because they were being cleaned. They were not being cleaned. It was 5 AM.

The location is a bit tricky to find. The property itself is situated in the heart of a great restaurant and entertainment district and features amazing amenities like fine dining and spa.
