I checked inn at 10.30pm last night and the room given ac was not working after sevwral request the room was changed ag 3.30am midnight.

Second room was shabby, smelly, broken beer bottle glass and same thing repeated ac was barely working. Soiled towels stinking with rotten rats

No water for shower. Inspite of complains. No one resolved the problem. Lastly i had to take shower with bisleri water and check out as was gettin late for meeting.

Nice family hotel in Anjuna

We had a really nice experience at the Tamarind Hotel. The staff were very friendly and the room was, although small, was very comfortable with plenty of space in the adjoining bathroom.

Our only criticism is that the 'family pool' wasn't really suitable for very small children as the shallow end was still too deep for a toddler or small child to stand or play in.

Nice and peaceful stay in Anjuna.

Staff is courteous and helpful. They upgraded me to a better room. Although the place is nice and clean, but since it's an outdoorish property, it need a thorough clean swipe to please neat freaks like me. I do feel the rooms are a little expensive as my breakfast was also not included in my package. But family friendly, solitude friendly, very picturesque and prompt service.

The pool is the best place to be.

The pool area is really cool with a pool bar and sitting area. moreover the pool is covered with trees above so it's always shady and cool. Rooms are very small. The restaurant is over priced.Do check with the hotel staff while checking in for breakfast inclusion/exclusion. Morning staff is extremely rude.
Over all a Good experience. Do try the chocolate mousse.

Lovely little hotel. Staff all lovely with a couple of exceptions. Housekeeping lady and waiting staff were lovely. Food was good at the hotel bar/restaurant. Entertainment most nights. Swimming pool was refreshing. Close enough to beaches and night market in a taxi. Would definitely stay here agin, it was a pleasure.

Great for staying in North Goa. A perfect location for roaming around. Very pleasant & Calm environment around.
Early check-in can cost some extra buck's, so plan accordingly.

The hotel looks beautiful and artistic. The food is good and tasty. Housekeeping is very prompt and helped a lot as I needed things to suit my two year old daughter and they smilingly helped me immediately. The pool is lovely. In all a very pleasant experience.

Clean, impressive, accommodating hotel in Goa.

Overall, I was impressed with the Tamarind Hotel in Goa, with its services, cleanliness, and pleasing ambiance. All staff was very accommodating and attentive. The restaurant served an international cuisine that was impressive, especially their delicious cakes. Their pool was great on warm days after a long outing.

Budget hotel not worth the price

Nothing great about this hotel...located in the middle of nowhere. Too expensive for the kind of room, amenities and breakfast provided. Very small property...one cannt find it peaceful too since the noise from other rooms and poolside comes into the room due to the smaller size. Food is not all that great and anjuna market is atleast 5 Kms away from the hotel making it extremely difficult to travel in case you want to go there to hire a bike / rent a cab for airport/stn or something.

Stayed with family. The hotel has a nice feel - especially in pics...
Away from beach, no accessibility & on a secluded road.
Rooms were too small...hardly any space to move around.
Dining area was nice & staff was Ok, had to ask for few things atleast couple of times.

My Brother and I stayed at the Tamarind for 5 nights on an unplanned trip. The hotel grounds were well maintained and clean. The room we had was spacious and everything worked properly. the beds were large enough and the room was cleaned when you wanted with complimentary bottled water and fresh towels always available. All the staff with no exceptions were amazing. very easy going and very accommodating. They can arrange almost anything with absolutely no hassle.The restaurant in the hotel is great. fair priced menu great selection and great food , drinks and desserts. breakfast was simple but very enjoyable. Location wise it was a few min ride to the beaches, bars and markets which was perfect for us as we enjoyed the landscape and finding our way around. Although they have shuttles to take you where you want at no cost to certain locations, We would highly recommend renting motorbikes, scooters or bicycles to get around in order to get the full experience. The hotel surroundings were very clean, safe and quiet. just up the street you will find a gate with the words \"Miraculous Cross- The way\" we went for a jog to the top of the stair way twice a day every morning and evening it was a great work out and the view from up above was amazing definitely worth checking out. We cannot say enough great things about this place especially for the price. If your looking for a clean quiet yet close enough spot in GOA then the Tamarind is the spot for you.

Great place and location

I had a great stay at the hotel but was disappointed to see some lack of maintenance of the structure and surroundings. The f&b needs to be worked upon. I wouldn't give them anything more than 3 out of 5. The service of the house keeping was prompt and fast. The location was the best. Very close to Mapusa and all the major beaches of North Goa all within 6 kms. I borrowed the scooter from the hotel. Overall a good experience and will surely stay there again.

Excellent food, super cool stay

I stayed here for 4 night and 5 days. I wish to had food outside but every time I thought I will do it in the next meal. It's simply awesome. The treatment was overwhelming starting from receptionist to manager in charge.

I would certainly give a 5 star rating for this.

DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL

Stayed in this hotel for a one night. At the time of checkin I told at the reception that some my friends would join me later in the day and they said ok for this. Around 10 pm, my friend with his Fiancee (foreigner) came to visit me. They were not allowed inside by the reception. They said Indians and Whites together are not allowed into hotel. It was such an insult for them. They should have told me this at the time of checkin and I wouldn't have invited my friends' in the first place.

Not worth the price - overall experience is ok

-ve : The rooms are very small and not worth the price. Bed occupies entire room and then there is no space for other stuffs. The bed spring used to make noise. Hot water flow was at low pressure and had to wait long.
+ve : Hotel theme is good. Location is away from beach but its calm and good. Breakfast and dinner was very good except omelet in breakfast.

Quiet hotel - far from the madding crowd

Tamarind Hotel is a very pleasant hotel close to Anjuna Beach in North Goa. Rooms are good quality and there is a nice (though small) swimming pool in the centre. The most striking aspect is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They all seem like a family, and by becoming a guest in the hotel, it's like you've joined that family. The hotel is in a rural and somewhat isolated location. This is wonderful in the evenings if you want a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere far from the madding crowd. It's not within walking distance of any of the beaches so - unless you have your own transport - you will have to use taxis to get about. The good news is that taxis are cheap in Goa, and the hotel provide a very good service in booking taxis for the guests - including a service to the airport.

Best place to be in Anjuna

This place was surprisingly good. As always smaller than pictures but overall really good. The rooms were clean and filled with good amenities. Furniture and electronics were modern and room was very clean. The pool was also pretty good. The hotel staff was really helpful. The location is really good. It's a quite location away from the party crowd. Nice place to go back at night.

Calm quiet location Away from the beach.

The hotel is slightly far from the beach. However, it has the advantage of being located almost equidistant from Baga, Vagator and very close to Anjuna.
Hiring a bike is a must. Don't forget to top up the fuel tank.

pretty and cute small boutique hotel

It's a very small but very cute and pretty homely boutique resort with only 25 rooms arranged on 2 floors but is really like home. Book it, you wont regret it, without burning deep holes in your pocket.All major north goa beaches are close by. Ask the hotel and they will arrange bikes for you to ride to everywhere. Lovely experience!

Very Private, very Cosy and very nice.

I booked 4 nights at the Tamarind reading a lot of reviews of the Hotel. Not 1 of them was bad! The place is lovely. It's essentially an old property which has been renovated by a new management & they have done a very good job. Stone structures, white washed walls & sloping roofs. It started raining the very day we reached so everything looked all the more green and better.When it rains you want to eat and drink. So here I have to mention the restaurant. The Chef Hemraj probably does not know what a great cook he is. Very non assuming guy who makes amazing food. The boys at the restaurant, Padam, Subhas&Tilak. Very simple and very warm. Subhas and Ashok at the reception, the housekeeping lady, Triza I think her name was. All nice people.
I think the management ( Rahul/Gaurav) has to be given credit for it.
We took some cycles &went to the beach and the next day were wise enough to take the bike ;-).
The pool is great. I think its temperature controlled, though I'm not very sure.
They also celebrated our wedding anniversary one evening & the cake they made for us, after eating that i could've died and gone to heaven.
Couple of suggestions.
1- It's mostly a couple place. Of course u can take your family, uncle,aunts & your grandmother,nobody is stopping u but yeah its mostly a great place for your & your partner. if you get my drift.
2-It's a very secluded and private place, please don't create a ruckus.Keep it down.
3- Tip all the staff when you leave. They all deserve it.

Good resort for budget travellers

I stayed here for 2 days in may 1st week. The location is in quite place. You would need a bike or vehicle to go around anywhere. The pool is nice and staff is very couteous. Food is great. All in all good for someone who wants a resort feel at a budget price.

You get what you pay for

Mixed bag. Cons: 1) the location shown is incorrect (hotel is quite far from the beach, actually) and head office doesn't want to correct it, as other reviewers have indicated. 2) Several emails to request airport pick up were ignored, even after a phone call (head office is in Delhi, where they don't care). 3) Place is noisy, with music until past midnight. 4) They don't allow any visitors to the room, which may be a problem if a meeting is required and is just silly anyway. Pros: the staff was consistently and uniformly the sweetest people I've met. SUMMARY: If you don't mind the cons and want a budget hotel, the staff will make it pleasant. Otherwise, there are plenty of other options in Goa.

Worst experience ever!!! Don’t stay here! It’s a rip off! Staff attitude is extremely bad, rude, unhelpful and negligent. Hotel is dated, dirty and very dusty. Very isolated position next to a cemetery, not hot water i the shower. Rooms are different from the pictures, very dated and dirty, bed linen and towels are dirty, old and usured. Ridiculously overpriced. Never ever stay here!

Vi forventet ikke at hotellet holdt rave-party om natten, og fikk ikke sove hele natten.
De reklamerer med at man kan få ekstra SENG, men seng er her en madrass på gulvet, og det er knapt plass igjen på gulvet når madrassen er der. Et guesthouse til halve prisen hadde vært vel så bra, og blir helt klart vårt valg neste gang. Ellers var det bra frokost og bra meny i restauranten.

Unikt boutique hotell med intim stemning.

Vi synes hotellet var preget av litt dårlig vedlikehold å begynne med. Etter et døgns opphold, ble vi vant til dette og satte veldig pris på god mat, komfortabel seng og et meget hyggelige og imøtekommende personale. Et lite stykke fra stranden, men hotellet ordner med sjåfør hvis ikke man vil leie sykkel eller scooter. Nydelige strender noen kilometere unna. Alt i alt en god opplevelse av hotellet og staben.
